i'm so glad something in my brain changer and now i have a lot to play with with my oc's other than "that one melodramatic scene". i made a gsheet last time when i thought 'hmm i'm beginning to have a few different stories i'd like to track, actually' and one of those stories came back again in my mind a day ago and i remembered that i had forgot a lot of what i had imagined for it. so now i'm trying to write the info in the file and there's so much to write ! and this makes me so happy ! (except that no one else can write it for me)

Mint I would love any and all guide!Yuuta thoughts I’ve been thinking about him for a while and you’re the only other guideverse mutual ;(
- aleks
He is like…... He’s like those carnivorous plants. The pretty ones that close real slowly. It’s an animal tamer type of love, all treats and gentle hands and appealing to natures that you didn’t even know you have. You can bite and snap all you want, he keeps you in check with grace.
Then suddenly the jaws close around you; there’s no getting out now.

ahhhhhhh, i'm having when the third wheel strikes back fanfic ideas without actually having the motivation to write them out.
Esper/Guide
Most espers/guides take on different names so that they can have a private life. Jung Yeseo of Juliette Palace learns that the hard way when he only assumes the name Jesse after two S-Class espers take an interest in him. Now, Christelle and Cedric are trying to make him their personal guide. They don’t want to share but Jung Yeseo has other plans.
Among Us/Streamer AU
Cedric and Christelle constantly simp for Yeseo no matter what he does. Cedric always kills Christelle first when he's an impostor, and Christelle always thinks that Cedric is an impostor just because. Yeseo will say he’s not the impostor, and everyone will trust him even if there is definite proof otherwise. Cedric is a very good detective but bad at convincing others of his theories. Christelle loves being an impostor, she’s known for being bloodthirsty. Jibril definitely starts some shit too.
I’ll Make Them Fall in Love
Jung Yeseo is transmigrated into one of his sister’s beloved novel obsessions. He knows what to do: make the ML and FL fall in love. Except they appear to be fighting over him instead. That’s quite odd. He’s been making sure that they hit all of the plotlines.

I’m reading Revenge Guide and by god the MC really is going through it lmao

Manhwa smut setting of espers and guides (espers have great powers coming at great costs and guides can heal them through physical touch with the greater healing the more “intimate” the contact) where the mc is a guide who has several esper clients who are trying to make him exclusive to them and by doing this and consistently all toeing the line of consent mcs guiding becomes less effective because “high intimacy” doesn’t just mean sex
Mc gets like dishonourably discharged by being assigned exclusively to this guy who just guiding doesn’t seem to work on him at all so it really is like saying hey be so kind as to both die without putting any blame on us
The guys problem is immediately evident as a fundamental mindset issue where the guy doesn’t see guiding as intimate in the same way that life saving surgery isn’t intimate and if it’s a regular thing then it’s just medication and not something with emotional weight
The story would start with them basically going welp guess we’ll die together, I look forward to working with you before we kill each other. They live together and it’s more or less a slice of life until the guide brushes up against the espers skin while they’re cooking, the guide only needing something on the counter but the esper fucking Buckling because their relationship is now close enough for that to Count
This leading into absolute research on how this fucking works because while both of them were resigned to it, they really do not want to die from the espers abilities going wild
Scenes include:
One of them holding the others hair back as they throw up being the height of guiding
Esper coming back from a mission and passing out instantly on the street where guide catches and cradles them, just rocking back and forth running his fingers through the espers hair out of worry and not knowing that this is super effective first aid
Esper fighting off the jealous “exes” (the possessive espers that wanted the guide for themselves at the start) and grabbing the guides hand to make a run for it and that counting as intimate
The only sex scenes would be at the start or during flashbacks and it would be pretty pg and/or framed as something bad for the guide and esper, not because sex is bad but because relying on sex as life saving medicine is scary and leaves much to be desired in terms of consent on the espers front and on the guides side being expected to devote your everything to a person who is much stronger physically than you who can force themself on you easily is hard if you’re supposed to do it for One person and much harder if you’re not an exclusive guide and thus have several clients who you’re probably not very close to
Aka an exploration of the toxicity inherent in the system and how these two work around it while assuming that their deaths are mutually assured (esper more than guide who could just run away)

For the word guessing game: leave 🍂
Oh I love the word guessing game! lfdjlgj (and that's a really good one too!)
So I found one fic with the word 'leave' in that context! (but it turns out that I have used the word 'leave' in different meanings a lot of times).
Pieces of torn clothes hanging like leaves on naked trees. Snow stained red, fingers clutched around long sleeves. Kisses on closed eyelids and breaths filled with empty promises. “It’ll all be alright, okay? You guys will be okay.” Abram's voice was soft and smooth, his lips feeling like butterflies on Andrew's cheeks, kissing away his tears. It was always ‘all of you’ or ‘you guys’ and never ‘we’. Andrew had thought that he was done with crying long time ago, that he didn't have anymore tears to shed. He supposed that he had been wrong.
This is from an Esper & Guide verse AU that I've been in love with for a long time now.

What Serizawa lore and dialogue in the manga that got cut from the anime are you talking about specifically I'm curious /gen
THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A REASON TO GO HAM!!! any adaptation is gonna have its cutbacks due to time restraints, but i feel like so many of serizawas lines/important moments got totally butchered or cut completely just to be replaced with cute moments that never happen in the manga.
!! MP100 SPOILERS HEAD obvi !!
First case: In the manga, when serizawa finally stands up to toichiro, things pan out COMPLETELY differently!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like this is a really important moment for serizawa. whatever false idea of friendship serizawa had left is ripped away from him. its unnerving to see how brutal and ruthless toichiro is, finally showing his true colours to serizawa after manipulating him for 3 years. I feel like its also a really important moment for reigen to bare witness to. serizawa and toichiros relationship serves as an exaggerated parallel to mob and reigens. A powerful and persuasive man using a naïve esper for their powers under the false promise of learning to control their powers, whether it helps them for better or for worse. big difference is that reigen does help mob in the style of important life lessons and guiding him towards being a good person. after the separation arc, reigen realizes how manipulative he's been to mob, he becomes a better person because of it. but i feel like after the TOICHIRO fight specifically is where we see a very clear difference in how reigen treats mob. he becomes a lot more patient and less controlling. it bums me out that this interaction was cut completely from the anime. I think it must have been for time because they also cut ekubos moments.
Serizawa not knowing what getting arrested is:
Tumblr media
Calling the Yokai hunter out on his bluff:
Tumblr media
they replaced this with the awesome fight scene but still an awesome line i wish they kept it was so bad ass lol:
Tumblr media
But the most shocking thing that they cut from the finale was this scene, after mob goes to reigen and serizawa for advice on asking out tsubomi:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not only is it fruity,,... but more importantly its a super important moment!!! seeing reigen open up like this in front of another person is something we havent seen up until this point!! mob and reigen have impacted each other so much, and its a FANTASTIC segway into the final chapter! absolutely crazy to me that they would cut such a deep personal moment especially considering how much BONES loves reigen.. it gets "implied" through a quick silent moment between reigen and serizawa (all they show in the anime is serizawa looking surprised at him)
not only that, but its so interesting how easily reigen opens up around serizawa. he doesn't do that around anyone else (probably because serizawa is the only person near his age playing an active role in his life bro has no friends)
and its incredible how well serizawa can already read reigen after such a short time working at S&S. serizawa tends to be quiet and hang in the background, but in the manga it has a purpose; hes observing the world around him. when he does have something to say it has importance and is carefully thought out.
in the anime so much of that important dialogue is cut and replaced with his moe salaryman moments which sure its cute, but when you know what he was really supposed to be saying its such a major let down. I feel like the writers didnt know about serizawas huge fan following hes had since his premier, so they didn't really care about him. thats my best guess as to why so many good moments got cut
also this:
Tumblr media
serizawa mentioned during his fight with mob that hes accidentally sent his mother flying before with his powers,,, exactly like mobs traumatic moment when he sent ritsu flying and injured him when they were kids... as i mentioned earlier, serizawa has always been a very clear parallel to mob (i can talk more about that in another post if someone asks). I was really hoping theyd go deeper into this moment in the anime but it GOT CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAAUGH!!!!
and this page right after.. MAN:
Tumblr media
BROTHER.... to me, i feel like this is the moment that made serizawa certain reigen doesnt have powers. not only does he have a talent for reading people, but he has to know by now. if he thought reigen had powers to protect himself, he wouldn't be saving his ass all the time like he does.
he knows reigen wont be fine on his own. he knows that reigen has something hugely important to tell him, important enough that reigen is willing to die to run out there and tell him
WHICH BY THE WAY THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL BUTCHERING OF A SCENE OF ALL TIME:
Tumblr media
from what ive researched it seems like a common occurrence in japanese culture to remove your shoes before attempting suicide. this is such an intense and impactful moment for reigen to be removing his shoes. looking around and seeing the situation hes in, but still throwing himself into harms way so he can protect mob like hes done so many times before, but in this scene hes making the concious decision to go in, knowing the risk involved. INSANE THAT IN THE ANIME they made removing his shoes some sort of way to get better grip to run. obviously, running barefoot in rubble and destruction is not going to give you better foot grip.. I think they did that to make the scene more lighthearted but it just feels like poor taste.
i feel like the style choices combined with the dialogue cuts in S3 seriously take away from the intense impact of the manga. ONE has such a talent for writing characters to be fleshed out human beings as well as interpersonal relationships. season 1 and 2 did such a good job of showing that even when there had to be scene cuts.
if you havent already, I think you should for sure read the manga. its even more life changing to me than the anime already is, and ONE has a beautiful art style and can convey strong emotions better than anything else ive ever seen. I have more good serizawa moments than this that were cut, and a lot of dialoue between mob and ??? was removed too, but i don't want to spoil every funny joke or character building moment.
this is why i think everyone should read the manga and the REIGEN spin off book :) thank you for reading through this!
ps: devastated when this got cut

relationship charts between my fop ocs and their respective groups
A BIT OF RAMBLE HA HA HA!!!!!!!
tsubaki's whole deal at school is that she lied about being an esper and has to rely on kira to back up her frauds despite her reluctance on making wishes. hazel's hot on her tail. she suspects that girl genius might have a magical being on her side. tsubaki suspects the same with hazel and forms this one sided rivalry with her. hazel thought tsubaki was kind of mean and thinks she's flaunting her academics. however as they spend more time together and get caught in supernatural situations, they began supporting one another and telling each other to think about what she wants for her own benefit (tsubaki to hazel) or relax for a bit and not think everything and everyone's out to get her (hazel to tsubaki). also tsubaki hangs out with the hazel gang when she doesn't have cram school for the day
tsubaki and dev did not get long. they both came from harsh home lives (obsessive parents, neglectful dad) but they don’t see eye to eye because they have opposing attitudes and values in life. tsubaki thinks you only deserve good things if you work for it while dev gets everything handed to him on a gold platter. she also thinks dev doesn't deserve his godparent or anything good in life (words that later push them to understand each other better). dev looked genuinely upset, she later apologized, and they became.... frenemies? rivals? they still throw jabs at one another but tsubaki wants to put in effort to make more friends thanks to hazel's encouragement. when they're older they became close friends and catch up on how each other's doing despite not going to the same schools after elementary. it's cool.
NOW ONTO KIRA AND PERI. MY FAVORITE.
kira believes the fairy world is hypocritical. he doesn't have world domination plans (that one goes to irep) but he wants to change fairy world for the better and make the fairies realize the flaws in the godparenting system, and what better way there is than through peri?
peri's both a fairywinkle and a cosma, he's the first fairy to be born in 1000 or so years, he's incredibly powerful and harbors massive potential, yet his powers is kept under control in that glass orb. peri is also new to godparenting while kira has thousands of years of experience. kira's witnessed many things that gave him such views (kids with abusive parents, homeless kids, sickly kids, mentally ill kids, etc), and he also noticed that peri is struggling with his first godkid and is such a stickler to da rules that it strains his relationship with dev. he must've noticed it too, right? how he and dev are at odds due to peri's reluctance to give him the things he wanted, how he and irep aren't really as close as they were when they were children. kira knows peri's naive, not stupid.
kira's not going to manipulate peri or straight up force him to do anything but he does want to become a presence in peri's life so he can open his eyes and change fairy world for the better ("a good godparent wants to see their godkid happy, right?"). he wants to guide peri in the path that he thinks is right. unfortunately they don't see eye to eye often so most of their conversations are at benches outside the school while their godkids are in their classroom

song of rest
felt like doodling out esper's tent. trivia and guide under the cut!
Tumblr media
the tent is a plain dark colour, very unflashy, fairly low to the ground. it provides shelter to sleep under, but doesn't close -- esper is a bit claustrophobic, especially when alone, so they don't tend to sit inside unless they're sleeping, and they prefer to sleep in the others' tents if they're allowed to.
wind chimes! their magic moves the chimes around slightly, so they like to play along to them. if it's too windy they don't set up the chimes. the magic itself isn't a particular spell (could be song of rest, but they're just tuning into the weave, really) but they usually have spell slots left at the end of the day, so they use any residual magic to vibe. more on that in 8.
a lantern that's basically an empty wine bottle that's been faerie fired. esper sets up pretty far away from the campfire -- they like the dark, but they do find comfort in the little motes of light.
the much-abused training dummy. this thing has been decapitated and run through so many times it's not funny. part of why esper sets up so far away from the center of camp is because they sometimes imitate death noises when they destroy this thing (for fun & enrichment), and they're a little too accurate for comfort.
barrel of swords. esper takes the weapons from enemies that they respect and sometimes polishes or sharpens those weapons, even if they don't use them.
just a huge pile of pillows and hide blankets and discarded armour. esper sleeps on the equivalent of a dirty laundry pile with a pillow. they will tidy up a little if they have company, but they are a slob on their own. anything that isn't a weapon or research is extremely disorganized.
pile of collected journals and notebooks. most of the books they pick up through their adventures esper will give to gale or astarion or halsin, or whoever wants them, but they keep notes that give them an eerie feeling -- notes that Might be about their mysterious past. some nights they will take out their own notebook and try to put the pieces together until their headache gets too bad and they have to stop.
esper bangin out the tunes. they're playing the spider's lyre. not any particular song, mind you, just a series of notes and a rambling improvised melody charged with magic. esper tunes into the vibrations of the surrounding area (birds, wind, rustling leaves, tremors in the ground, etc.) and harmonizes with them so they can sense if anything around the camp is weird. they're meditating and calming their own emotions when they do this, but they're also stretching out their senses for nearby threats or weird energies in camp.
this is probably tea or just hot water. it might be soup. esper will drink about anything but they rarely make it for themself -- someone wandered over there and poured a liquid in there and they've just been sipping it since. esper isn't a heavy alcohol drinker -- their tolerance is really low, and they don't like having their judgement or control compromised.
these are weapons from enemies esper Doesn't particularly respect, or just daggers that are shit and cheap and not worth using. i'll be real, this is mostly for the aesthetic, but when you have bad knives, sometimes you want to punish them by burying them in the ground and using them to hold up your tent.
