Ivory gulls! A small gull that breeds in the high arctic. Juveniles have dark feather barring, and adults are plain white.
[ID: an illustration of two white birds flying to the left. One is smaller and has dark markings. The background is swirly clouds with a blue and orange border of stylized waves and florals. End.]

Gull sketches. Found these a bit difficult (and I didn't have glasses on or contacts in, which didn't help) so will have to do more sometime soon

Could you draw a black backed gull? :)
day 20
today's bird is the great black-backed gull!
- they are the largest member of the gull family
- they sometimes hunt other adult birds like grebes and puffins
- cornell calls them the "king of the atlantic waterfront" (fancy!)
- some great black-backed gulls can live up to 26 years!
