In love we have no free will We only get one heart to fill Before it's through So I got you In my veins, in my blood I got you Straight to my heart like a flood Like there ain't no other love Hearts aren't always red They're black and blue But I got you
Lexa Woods, the fastest gunslinger in the West, hopes to start a new life with Costia. However, tragedy strikes when she mistakenly crosses the wrong person. Lexa swears off love entirely and transitions careers, becoming a Sheriff in a mining town. While en route, Lexa stumbles upon a fiery blonde and her daughter, whose caravan was attacked by bandits.
Clarke Griffin's world is upended when she learns her husband isn't who he had claimed to be. In an attempt to escape her pain, she takes her daughter West in hopes of starting anew. Clarke is determined to ignore any potential paramours, knowing that the only person she can trust with her heart is herself. Besides, she has her daughter to think of and refuses to open them up to another betrayal.
Will Lexa and Clarke open their hearts again? Can they ever truly trust one another? Or are they fated to spend their lives alone?

Was drawing outside this afternoon with my music on shuffle, and “Just Like Jesse James” by Cher came on. I got big “The Pursuit” AU vibes. Loved every minute of it. Not sure my neighbors were as pumped about my enthusiastic sing along but 🤷🏻‍♀️😬😁
Just for you (and Cher 🙌), I’m going to share a snippet from a second chapter that might never otherwise see the light of day:
~*~
With the safety and continuing liberty of her people foremost in her mind during waking hours, being in a constant state of alert from dawn till dusk, Clarke hasn’t got the luxury to entertain notions of anything else.
But in the dark, laying on her bedroll under the pale moonlight and a vast blanket of stars, that’s when her guard slips and uninvited thoughts creep in, and she feels this twinge in her chest. It ain’t exactly guilt, but she might call it regret. Not for the robbery—Dante Wallace had it coming. Not even for the innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire simply by virtue of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The end justifies the means and she made her peace with that long ago.
No, what haunts her, what she can’t seem to shake is that look on Lexa’s face when their eyes locked amid the hail of bullets: crestfallen for the briefest of seconds before Lexa’s expression hardened. All prior warmth extinguished by cold, hurt fury that blasted through Clarke from twenty paces away like a Winchester repeater. But the part she couldn’t fathom then, and still can’t figure now, is why she even cares.
She should be counting her blessings.
Ought to take a whole heap of satisfaction from outsmarting a woman who’s respected and reviled in equal measure among gunslingers and outlaw gangs alike, from here to the Rio Grande.
Clarke hadn’t rightly intended to bed her. Least, not until she spied Lexa in person.
No one told Clarke the long arm of the law could be so alluring. She saw those fine, sculpted features, the curve of full lips, eyes the colour of a storm-tossed sea, and she decided she had to know whether this woman was all hat, no cattle, the risks be damned. Well, it turns out Miss Lexa Woods has a weakness for a low neckline and a truly astounding talent for using her mouth.
(She will not, cannot, allow herself to dwell on the way Lexa looked in the soft lamplight, a thin sheen of sweat on her golden skin, one arm flung over her head as she fought to catch her breath. Or how Lexa gazed at her in the morning as they lay atop the rumpled sheets, bright-eyed and glowing, a smile never far from her lips.
Clarke squashes every recollection of the final kiss they shared on the threshold of that hotel room, shortly before all hell broke loose. How it ran deep and heavy, tinged with something bittersweet that she tried hard to smother. When Lexa, ears tipped pink and wearing a little smirk, told her, “Keep the bed warm.” So much promise wrapped up in so few words.)
None of that matters now.
The gang looks to Clarke for leadership. They rely on her. Their very survival hinges on her keeping a clear head, and whatever remorse she might feel for wronging a beautiful woman... she needs to bury it quick.

So my twin brother recently made me start watching Westworld. We’re only halfway through season 1 but now all I can think about is an AU where Clarke and Lexa are at West World and one of them is a guest and the other is a host.
Counterpoint: they’re both Hosts.
Hear me out:
Lexa Woods’ storyline is designed for those Guests who want to taste the adventure of the park - without needing to do anything too evil or untoward to do so. Though she’s scripted to be a Lawful character, she herself lives outside the law: as the leader of a band of gunslingers and thieves colloquially called the Nightbloods (so named because they make all their kills at night, some say, though others claim it’s because they dress all in black and red), she has a sizable bounty on her head. Not least of all because she’s currently campaigning to unite the twelve biggest bandit gangs in the desert to chase the new railroad company out of town before they can destroy the farms and ranches and other small-time operations the county people have come to rely on. Turns out pissing off the only people with money is a quick way to get a wanted poster.
The only problem is, none of the wanted posters have been able to actually depict her face. Whenever she’s been spotted at the head of a Nightblood raid it’s been with a red bandana over her nose and a black hat on her head, so the wanted posters can only ever even attempt to accurately portray her eyes. Which means when she heads into town one morning, the pretty blonde she helps with the door of the general store doesn’t realize who she’s talking to.
Enter: Clarke. The eldest daughter of the county governor - an office which has ended up in the hands of his wife, Abby, after Jake Griffin died of an infected wound a few months back - Clarke has the eye of every eligible Host (and very many Guests, eligible or otherwise) in town. How couldn’t she? She’s scripted to be desirable: educated and intelligent, she has a whip-sharp wit and a will to rival any man twice her age and three times her means. Clarke, too, has taken issue with the treatment the people of the county have had at the hands of the railroads, but her weapons are different. With her learning, a polished politess, and access to power, her storyline is one for Guests who prefer intrigue to bloodshed.
When she meets Lexa Woods in town that day, she meets a fellow crusader who can match her beat for beat - even though they disagree. Lexa’s solutions are direct and scented with gunpowder, her approach firm and unyielding. Wrong is wrong in her eyes, and wrong needs to be righted. Clarke, for her part, is willing to bend in places Lexa won’t; there’s nothing wrong in charming someone you despise or bluffing about the cards in your hand when the end goal is a righteous one. Star-crossed from the moment they meet, they fall in love debating such things over a tavern table. How could they not? It’s like someone made them to be perfect for each other.
But the person who did so has a cruel sense of romance.
Because Lexa Woods’ storyline doesn’t end happily. A scripted late night meeting - the clandestine embrace of lovers who know they’re only safe when cloaked in darkness - is scripted to be picked up by the county sheriff. Who is in turn scripted to take the railroad’s bribe to put a judicious end to Lexa Woods. And that night, whether by a bullet from the sheriff’s gun or a Guest’s that’s helping him, Lexa Woods dies. And Clarke is scripted to watch.
She isn’t scripted to remember.
And she doesn’t, not really. Not in the way that brings clarity or comes with intention, but in the way that things happening in broad daylight, right in front of her eyes, feel...wrong. Her face remains the same, and so does Lexa’s, and so does the sheriff’s - but the person who’s with him, sometimes a man, sometimes a woman, sometimes more than one, those change. She finds herself jumping at gunshots that don’t exist, terrified of things that haven’t happened yet. Once she meets a beautiful woman with dark hair and eyes the color of summer grass, and she immediately begins to cry. She isn’t sure why. She’s never met this person before.
And when she sleeps, she sees her. Over and over again, hundreds upon hundreds of times, she watches Lexa Woods bleed out in her arms.
Lexa doesn’t remember - not in the same way. She’ll wake in the morning with the taste of metal on her tongue. In the middle of the day, she'll be taken by the sudden urge to scream. The sight of her Nightbloods leaves an ache in her chest for no reason she can discern. And when she does meet Clarke Griffin, the governor’s daughter, she bears a weight of guilt on her shoulders that no amount of apology can relieve her of...but perhaps that’s because she doesn’t know what she’s apologizing for.
Until one night they meet in the barn on the Griffin family’s property to whisper their love to each other by lantern light. That night, lawmen spurs kick in the door and lawmen iron is drawn on her for the simple crime of fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves and she knows, she knows that this is how it ends, how it’s ended countless times before. She knows that after this the newest of her Nightbloods - a face that isn’t the same as it was last time, that isn’t the same as it was any number of dozens of times, how can that be - will take up her mantle and wage a virtuous war against the railroad in her name, will finish her work in her memory. Because that’s how her storyline goes. She’s scripted to be a sacrifice to someone else’s story. And in that moment, she is more furious than she has ever been in her hundreds upon hundreds of lives.
But this life is different. Because every time before, she and Clarke are caught by surprise. Every time before, they forget about Lexa’s revolver until it’s too late. This time, same as every time before, Lexa is caught by surprise, she does forget - but Clarke isn’t, and Clarke doesn’t. No sooner has the sheriff kicked in the door does a smoking hole appear in the center of his chest, and as he looks down at it in unscripted confusion, the face that doesn’t match any of the faces that came before lifts their gun and fires.
They both die that night.
But the people who write their story find themselves in trouble that night, and every night after that. They just don’t know it yet.
Feel free to reblog this to add your own thoughts or comments - but please don’t take this idea!

I love your dnd party so much??? Your art is fantastic!!! Would you mind telling a little about each PC? They look very interesting!!
Oh yes absolutely i love my party i love talking about them
Blue haired lady is Rhiess, shes our human barbarian. Shes a werewolf and she’s literally the sweetest and loves birds. She also married our bard and its peak wlw mlm solidarity i love it sm aaaaaa (played by the lovely @millimauk ^3^)
Red haired dude is Lexa. Hes a human monk/sorcerer with a mood ring that lets him know what hes feeling (it’s usually annoyed). Hes the default dad friend of the group and is constantly trying to keep us from wandering into danger. Cursed or some shit
The blond elf is Lillian, shes our druid. Playing the wii shop music on repeat in her head. We found out that the deer skull she usually wears is named DEER-mitri and i LOVE it. Her goddess is trying to abduct her
Brown hair man is our bard/ recently warlock Barnabus. Hes human and HIGHLY CURSED OH MY GOOD. I cant even list all the things hes done oml. Hes tried to have my character kidnapped TWICE bc he was jealous, he robbed a monastery an hour into is being in town, and is currently romancing my characters cousin. He’s horrible and I absolutely love him.
The little one is our halfling cleric Haru. They’re literally baby. So sweet, so shy, so wonderful. Technically they’re part assimar so theyre like a little cherub !!!!! They glow i love them. They call the bard “mister wizard” i would die for them.
And then the tiefling is my girl Dotty. Gunslinger/ artificer. She’s basically El Woods from Legally Blond but if she hand a gun lmao. Her fiancé left her like a month before the wedding to marry a richer girl and shes been spiraling ever since.
Our dm ( @dungeonnovice ) is amazing for putting up w all our nonsense and continues to put together incredible sessions for us every week ❤️❤️❤️

Medevac Pilot Lexa with paramedic Clarke Smokejumper Lexa and hiker Clarke Horse trainer Lexa and veterinarian Clarke Brokeback mountain Clexa (without the marriage to other people stuff) Amish Clarke and gunslinger Lexa (basically the movie The Outsider, wet with Naomi Watts, Clexa style)
These are.... a lot of prompts! I admit I’ve fallen out of clexa a little but some of these could get me back in that particular saddle - I’ll be honest though, they sound like more than one-shots. Still, will save them for a rainy day! Thanks for sending them in!

XCOM 2 f/f ships roster
Lexa “Heda” Trikru - Ranger - Assault (gonna put her through the Blademaster route because she deserves all the epic swordfight moments; she doesn’t seem like the ninja type)
Clarke “Wanheda” Griffin - Specialist - Battle Medic (making her the primary healer just like The 100; a few close calls with her character since she’s always charging ahead)
Santana “Snixx” Lopez - Grenadier - Heavy Gunner (considering Santana is a verbal machine gun for insults and dropping bombs, I figured she’d be the team’s ideal tank; so far she’s a beast, tearing up the field and roasting the aliens)
Alex Danvers - Sharpshooter - Sniper (while Alex seems more like a gunslinger type, my team really needed some longrange support so I just put her there; but she has made a lot of epic hail-mary kills in slo-mo)
Kara “Supergirl” Danvers - Grenadier - Demolitions Expert (oh shit in hindsight, Supergirl would make an excellent Psi Operative, so I’ll be changing this soon -- maybe Lena “Sexy Eyebrow” Luthor)
I’ve only trained 5 soldiers out of rookie rank. Brittany will probably be a Sharpshooter Gunslinger. Nicole - probably an extra Ranger Assault. Waverly maybe a backup Psi Operative. That leaves Maggie as Ranger Scout.
Playing with them has been fun, like it fuels my fanfic imagination. But also terribly emotionally draining. Like watching Lexa die on repeat, while Santana breaks up with Brittany, and Alex gets her heart broken, and Nicole gets shot without a bulletproof vest. INSTA-LOAD GAME.

ME:A Countdown Ryder Meme
25 Days: Describe Ryder’s favorite combat style. Bioware call Peebee a “gunslinger” and describe Liam as a “close-range fighter” - how would you describe Ryder’s combat role/strengths? What are some of their favorite biotic/tech/other abilities?
Claire Ryder is ‘Ranging Variant’ meaning one moment she’s across the battle field and the next she is in your face.
Jericho Ryder is ‘Jack of all Trades’, he has dabbled in a little bit of everything and uses it on the battlefield
Astrea Ryder would be ‘Combat Hacker’, everything synthetic can and will be manipulated by her power.
Siren Ryder would be 'Face Blaster’ because her entire motive is to pummel her opponent with biotic blasts.
Maxson Ryder is ‘Power Slammer’ cause he loves nothing more than slamming his body or fist into, well, anything.
Rey Ryder is ‘Space Rogue’. Exactly what it sounds. Now you see her, now you don’t.
Remy Ryder could be called a ‘Biotic Tester’. Proficient in biotics but he likes to know a little about everything.
Lexa Ryder is a ‘Biotic Brain’ because not only does she have biotics on her side but she can reroute a drone faster than you can shoot.
Gage Ryder would simply be ‘Savvy’ because she can do a lot with the duel abilities she has.
