Her battle vibes are too powerful 🗡️ Blindfolded little girl plays “Ascetic” 行者 on a guzheng
Musical genius 🔥
The metronome and stopwatch were put there to shut mean people up (some comments on her other videos accused her of speeding up the videos).
This video is from her channel. The same video was uploaded on her music school’s channel first. Comments there say that weapons are going to start flying soon (referring to how musical instruments can be used in combat in wuxia movies) 🤣
as some of you may know, I am a college student. it is the month of april. so i am currently in the first circle of hell. writing will come in the month of may.
BUT
i currently re-entered the phase where i listen exclusively to guzheng covers of music on youtube while i do homework and i need everyone else to hear these. and if you have any fun facts or recommendations i DEMAND THEM. love you all <3
I can finally reveal this poor boyo, now that he's been introduced into an RP I'm doing-! No need to worry about giving spoilers to my friend lmfao-
Was struck with sudden motivation after I heard about the myth of the Jiaoren and had to make a new esper OC from the game Dislyte-
CONTENT WARNING FOR SA:
This is Arlen-! A young man living in Rashina Graywater, struggling to repay his family's debt to a gang of loan sharks...Who...Have sadly been all too keen, on preying on the boy's awakening.
After all, the tears of an Jiaoren, turn into pearls.
Used and abused as their cash cow, Arlen is forced to perform on stage for the wealthy underworld elite, forced into brothels despite only having just turned 18- They milk him for every tear he can shed, and for his other...talents, the Jiaoren has given him.
Still, despite it all, he lies to his parents and tell them that he's found a lucrative job- Selling his crafts.
He just has to survive, he thinks...Just needs to wait for the storm to pass...
Then surely they can all leave this wretched town, and return to the oceanside his family dreams of.
The guzheng, or zheng is a chinese plucked zither. Strings come in many materials, and the average modern amount of strings is 21 but varies in number from 12-26. To play a guzheng, players often use a fingerpick. And the instrument originates from Southern China. The guzheng is a very old instrument, originating 2600+ years ago in at least 6th century BCE. It’s even in its name! The writing for gǔzhēng is 古筝, 古 meaning ancient and 筝 meaning zither!
Mindy Meng Wang is a Chinese/Australian composer and performer, masterfully trained on the traditional Chinese instrument, the guzheng. So beautiful! I highly recommend listening to her new EP “Kōng Emptiness”
From the image of Madam Ping's Adepti-human form on the event menu, I'm guessing Madam Ping's animal form is some sort of fish, since her outfit has fish fins and scales all over. The color palette means her powers are likely water-related as well.
And a bit more on her instrument.
Her instrument looks like a Guzheng/古筝, which looks like this irl:
And sounds like this (traditional instruments cover of the "Liyue" track from Genshin):
