TERRORISTS KIDNAP 50 IN KADUNA COMMUNITY

The Ragadaziow (forefathers) Guisers performing the trial of the Beast of Bodmin- a mock trial in the style of a mummers play dating back to 1549. The Bodmin Play (An Gwary Bosvenna) sees the beast captured and paraded in the streets- St Petroc’s Ossery Casket watching over the event.

The Beast of Bodmin is not just a recent cultural reference but refers to the local tradition of a dragon at Halgavor. Legend states that St. Petroc removed a splinter from the creature’s eye and thus tamed it. Nie wiem właściwie czego oczekuję od twojej odpowiedzi, ale... Jestem z pogranicza pewnych grup etnograficznych w Polsce, technicznie rzecz biorąc mogę do nich należeć (mój pradziadek należał do jednej z nich). Problem polega na tym, że nigdy nie uczyłam się gwary, dialektu, tradycji. I myślę, że czułabym się fałszywie ucząc się tego teraz, jakby to nie było naturalne przez brak pewnych doświadczeń (nikt do mnie gwarą nie mówił, nie mówił o lokalnych tradycjach). To tak jakby ktoś urodził się na Kaszubach, kaszubskiego nigdy nie znał, a nagle zaczął się uczyć i języka i tradycji, bo to jego rejon. Co sądzisz o takim "po czasie" dołączaniu do kultury swojego regionu?

po to kultura istnieje aby ją poznawać, aby do niej dołączać, aby ją kultywować w sposób żywy, pełen szacunku i pasji, pełen ciekawości i gotowości na tłumaczenie tej kultury na nasze potrzeby i na naszą wrażliwość - bo jeśli my nie będziemy kultywować tych tradycji w ten sposób, to one wcale nie zginą... tylko będą kultywowane przez najgorsze ścierwo dorabiające do nich otoczkę homogenicznej tradycjonalistycznej białej rasy, i przerabiające ją na jedyny słuszny młot na wszelką odmienność.

poznając tradycje, kulturę, ucząc się wyciągać z nich wnioski i przekładać je na nasze potrzeby, dokładamy się do tego pięknego i burzliwego arrasu ludzkich żyć i doświadczeń - tworzymy coś, dzięki czemu kolejne pokolenia będą mogły chociaż w najmniejszym stopniu spojrzeć w przeszłość, na nas, na ludzi sprzed pięciu czy dziesięciu wieków, i pomyśleć: hej, nie jestem jednak sam, nie jestem jedyną osobą, która te same góry czy kluski kocha tak mocno, ludzie zawsze byli ludźmi i zawsze śpiewali wokół ogniska i śmiali się z naprawdę durnych rzeczy.

This water pot is characteristic of the work of Gwari potter Ladi Kwali. She became internationally renowned for her hand-built stoneware pots decorated with traditional and contemporary imagery – ranging from lizards and fish, to aeroplanes and guns. Already well-regarded locally, Ladi Kwali learned to use a wheel and create stoneware ceramics while working with artist Michael Cardew at Abuja. They later toured together overseas, and she was awarded an MBE in 1962.

Day Nine: Two ox peckers hire Ralph to set the scene for their mock-blood ritual. Probably my least favourite of the series, I had hoped to come back to it, and maybe I will down the line. I think I took a short break after this one. Full disclaimer: Not only did I not draw all of these in October, I also didn't even finish the series due to IRL stuff. But I DID do a bunch, and hopefully I'll finish off the rest down the line. The prompt list is based on :SpartaDog's kinktober list from 2022 Characters: The repeating characters in this series are Petroc the tyrannosaurid (mine), Jaxson the Parasaurolophus (Khurje), Tony the compsognathus and Ralph the ankylosaur (my partner's), the additional characters are all randoms. I also did not get a chance to double check the Kernerwek translations, so there's a very real chance some are utter nonsense.

I needed some time alone, so i decided to take off unnoticed. I decided to visit mandala, which inhabits the famous zuma rock in Niger state, it’s a popular site along the Abuja-Kaduna express road which is sometimes referred to as the gateway to Abuja from Suleja.

Zuma rock is composed of gabbro & granodiorite, it was located by the people of zuba & koro in the 15th century. It is 725m (2,379ft) above the surrounding area, the Gwari/Gbagyi tribe used the rock as a form of defensive purpose against invading tribes. It is regarded as the strongest idol both for its size and strong spirits. Moreover it was worshipped, offered constant sacrifices and festivals were organized in honor of the rock.

As i entered my hotel room, i lay on bed physically exhausted from the tour, my mind was unable to shut down which was in overdrive. I pondered about something bothering me, i knew i would have to leave in a day or two; so i had to make every moment count. At noon the following day, i had ordered for a cab to take me around but the cab drivers charge was outrageous and that left me standing; awaiting another cab.

Hello, i couldn’t help overhearing your conversation with that cab driver. I swiftly turned around and saw 2(two) ladies sitting at the corner of the hotel outside, the lady who wore a stripped purple gown approached me and smiled. She was brown in complexion, had a winning smile and was unarguably pretty. She introduced herself as Stella T Abbie and her friend as Zahra S Mahmood, i can be of service to you and we don’t mind showing you around for the day. I looked at them haughtily, not intentionally though but as a decoy to frustrate their aim.

Thank you i said but obliged their request, i told them i didn’t want to be indebted to anyone less a stranger. We can’t rob, kill nor rape you zahra said; we’re only trying to be of help to you. I paused for some minutes to think about their proposal, finally i decided to go with them. They took me to other sites like the Nagwamatse Well (some kilometers away from kontagora) & Gwara Waterfalls (along minna-suleja road). Both stella & zahra educated me on the history of the different towns.

“I have a party tonight and my boyfriend is not in town, will you be my date?” Stella asked out of the blues, i looked up in shock.
