MASTERLIST in bio, darlings. Tags are open (check bio)
The shishi-odoshi (bamboo water fountain) adds a mellifluous tone to the other empty house that has been modestly spruced up with furniture and tatami for the new owner and any guests he pleases to bring home.
Orange hues reflect over the pond which is the first to welcome anyone who enters the gate. Tadpoles have been daring enough to swim in the koi pond freely while the fish follow with great curiosity. Crows are perched on the rooftop, some resting, others keeping an eye on every direction as if it's their sole purpose to look out for any signs of danger.
The new owner of the house is standing in the centre of his new abode, his delicately beautiful tresses flowing with the gentle spring breeze languidly flowing through the rooms and corridors. His arms rest inside his kimono. His entire being is a rhythm of stillness, trying to hear the house and all that surrounded it.
He tries to hear the echoes of the past that this soil carries; tries to remember the fragrance of a warm meal long forgotten, the cackle of one little boy he would like to hear again. And again. He tries.
But everything is blank.
No noise can be drawn from his memory. No odour or stench. No faces seem to come up. A muted tone of something that he has long forgotten; washed away.
Eventually, the dirt under his shoes crunches as he makes his way to the front porch, sitting down to watch the last rays of the sun going down.
Cries of little kids playing in the street outside are new to him. Their voices are shrill, filled with unmediated confidence. The mothers are louder, calling for them to come home before it gets dark. The dogs are barking at the commotion, even more at the kids. But he seems to like it; this long-forgotten bouquet of noises.
The caw of one of the crows brings his attention to the gate.
"Do not tell okaasan, Nami. I'll be home quick."
The tender yet resolute voice has his attention. One leg hanging down the porch, the other supporting his resting arm, he slightly turns to watch the wall, following the sound of hurried footsteps that stop at his gate.
A grunt is heard by the wall: "You are going to get me in trouble, Y/N."
"No one is getting in trouble," that tender voice speaks again, "I just need to feed the fish and water the flowers. I will be done before the sun goes down. You do not have to wait for me. Go home and keep okaasan busy."
Nami seems to grunt again behind the wall, "I swear she is more your mother than mine. And she is going to eat me alive for letting you wander off alone in an abandoned Uchiha house."
But someone is already stepping inside the abandoned house, bringing along the scent of freshly bloomed sakura.
Tumblr media
You wave Nami away and skip towards the koi pond, greeting the fish. "Oyasumi, koi-sama!" you chuckle before taking out a pouch hidden under your haori (jacket). "I brought you dinner so you do not eat the tadpoles just yet."
Dropping the crumbs into the pond to keep the koi away from the tadpoles, you take the leaf of a lily plant, scoop the little ones up and shift them to the end of the pond closed off for the fish with rocks.
"There you go," you sigh, getting up and going back to look at the flower buds standing in the pond.
"Looks like you are ready to bloom any moment," you whisper mostly to yourself, being careful while touching the buds.
Women can be heard outside, scolding their kids to go back to their homes. A few of them are cursing the prices of vegetables coming in from the Hacho village.
"By the way, did you hear, this house has been reconstructed for someone returning from the war?"
A few gasps run through the crowd as they pass by the walls.
"My, my -" you hear one of the women gasp as you get up - "who is that young man?"
It is clear from the voice that they are standing at the gate so instinct drives you to turn around and look towards the house. You see a figure sitting on the porch, their eyes locked with yours. The stare brings an anxious jump to your heart within three seconds, your body impulsively taking a step back, leading to you losing your footing.
It all happens within a flash.
A yelp comes out of your throat as your hands try to grab at anything to stop you from falling into the pond but finding only air. Something grabs you instead.
A pale hand grips your right hand, stopping you right at the edge. Painted nails adorn nimble fingers that are wrapping themselves around your palm and pulling you away from the pond, towards...
Your breath is lost.
The depth in those eyes is immeasurable as they look into yours. The lines on his face speak of many things - mostly exhaustion. The thin, pink lips are a line devoid of any emotion, being teased by the stray locks of his hair that do not yet find themselves being tied at the back.
You cannot take your eyes away from him. You are unable to.
But he does. For a slight moment, looking at something behind you as his other hand finds the small of your back and pushes away from the edge of the pond and closer to him.
Foreign voices bring you back to earth. Voices that are talking outside the walls.
You slowly remove yourself from his hold. His hands are surprisingly warm - warmer than yours.
Tumblr media
"Gomen'nasai (sorry)," you exclaim with a bow, "I just came here to feed the fish. Sumimasen (excuse me)." You bow again before walking hurriedly out the gate.
He sees her touch the plants growing in the pond and stops when a cluster of voices grows closer to the gate. The only feature that stands out from where he watches her is the jade hairpin that she is wearing.
He does hear his name. But his eyes are invested in the woman turning to look in his direction. He has already calculated that she is losing her footing. And so, he makes himself useful.
That is when he sees those eyes. The kindest eyes he has ever seen. The yawning sun reflects its golden hues through an ocean of y/e/c, stuck on him. They are wondering about him with such transparency that he wants to laugh at the absence of any veils. And yet he just stares in awe.
Parted lips want to draw his attention to the lack of air they are observing but his attention is taken by a slight hiss coming from behind her.
He is already drawing her closer to him, looking behind her to find the source of that sound, only to find the flower buds suddenly opening up.
He feels her move away from him, questioning the usual void in his mind as it is suddenly filled with a few voices.
She apologises and excuses herself with a bow.
He does not utter a word. He is still trying to get used to those eyes.
She is no longer there. Yet he still blinks, trying to get those eyes off his mind.
He cannot. The blank space in his head has unexpectedly found something to wonder about; even when a cluster of flowers glowing with ember petals grows in his pond and a jade hairpin lies right by his feet.
Tumblr media
"What took you so long?" Nami punches you in your arm and then proceeds to rub it while walking back home. She is forced to look at you when you don't answer.
"Nami..."
"Hm?"
"...I think I just met Itachi Uchiha."

A Sacrifice Worth Being Made
Words: 1,888
Royalty AU: Sacrifice
Also for @kakagaievents Kakagai Halloween event with the prompt 'Beast'
The entire room had fallen silent. Even the most vocal of Gai’s advisors couldn’t think of a single thing to say, opting instead to bow their heads and keep their mouths shut. On any other day, Gai would appreciate the quiet.
Today, he wished someone would say something.
Anything.
“What?” Anger boiled inside of his chest, consuming him in a way he’d never experienced before. He wanted to lash out. To scream and argue and cry until he was too warn out to continue.
“I’ll go,” Kakashi repeated himself as if everything was just fine. “If no one else can deal with the issue, then I will.”
“Your majesty,” A sharp glare would usually silence any words his advisors had, but it did nothing to detour Genma. His advisor simply met his gaze with the same calm that he always tried to exude in their meetings. “Sir Kakashi is one of our best knights and we have lost quite a few trying to destroy this beast already.”
“No.” his voice was sharper than usual, with such fiery anger burning in that one simple word that half of the advisors who surrounded the table took a step back. As if they were protecting themselves from the fall they could see happening directly in front of them.
Not one to be intimidated, though, Kakashi simply straightened his back and turned to face Gai. “Name one person better equipped to face the challenge than I.”
“I-that’s not the point,” he bit back. “You are a royal guard. Your duty is to stay at my side and protect me!”
“To protect you sometimes I must step away,” Kakashi spoke with an eerie calmness. A trait Gai had seen over the years, though it was always directed at someone else. Someone who needed to be reminded of the rules. “I did this when I led the army in the battle of Hacho, and again when I left to take care of the assassine that King Onoki had sent to kill you.”
Gai shook his head. It was true of course and he knew Kakashi’s duties better than anyone. He’d made sure to read all about the duties his lover would be carrying out when he first got word about his father’s intentions to make Kakashi his royal guard.
He’d never thought he would reach the day when that information backfired on him.
Still, he didn’t give up. He couldn’t.
Allowing Kakashi to go on this mission was a guaranteed loss. Even if he was successful in slaying the beast it was unlikely that he would make it home. The intel they’d received from past attempts and the select few who’d miraculously managed to get away before they were ripped to shreds confirmed that there was no escape.
“Poisoned fangs,” He whispered, images of all those people he’d seen just a few days ago in the village hospital. People who’d lived in a village a few hours away and who’d come to his kingdom seeking asylum after the beast had attacked their homes. “Claws that can impale a grown man, faster than any animal seen before.”
“I know what its qualities are,” Kakashi assured him, never faltering for even a second. “I’ve studied everything we know about it and thought carefully about the risks before coming to this decision.”
The aching fear that had engulfed Gai’s heart when he first heard Kakashi offer himself up for the job began to loosen. It felt silly now that he thought about it, but he’d forgotten just how cautious Kakashi could be.
No matter what the task, Kakashi was known for facing it head-on with plans that would make even the wisest generals bow their heads in respect. There wasn’t a single person in the kingdom who could think as Kakashi did, and no one who could carry out those plans as well as he did.
“So,” Genma spoke up, his voice giving away the excitement that everyone else in the room must have been feeling. “What’s the plan?”
After three weeks of panic, there seemed to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Kakashi was stepping forward, and he spoke in such a way that it seemed clear that he had a plan. An idea that would allow him to defeat the beast that plagued their lands while still keeping his life.
Yet, while everyone else seemed to already be celebrating their freedom from the beast’s rampage, Gai could still feel that terrible weight in his chest. A fear that weighed down on his heart even when he tried to remind himself that it was Kakashi.
Hatake Kakashi is the youngest person to ever be knighted and one of the absolute best knights in the entire kingdom.
“The plan?” Kakashi’s eyes flickered over to Genma. “To kill the beast, of course.”
Gai’s heart sank.
There was no plan.
No grand design that Kakashi had thought up to defeat the beast while ensuring his own survival.
“You…you’re kidding, right?” for the first time in his life, Gai heard a growl in Genma’s voice. The usually cool-headed advisor had finally met a challenge that he couldn’t face without allowing his anger to seep through into full view for everyone around him. “You just told us you’d thought through everything. That means you have a plan, right?”
“No,” Gai answered for his lover, his heart shattering when Kakashi looked his way. “There is no plan that will work.”
“That is…sort of correct,” Kakashi confirmed. “It is possible for me to defeat the beast and end the reign of terror it had placed over the kingdom. It will no longer be a problem and people will be able to return to their homes. Of course, they’re going to need aid to rebuild.”
“Aid that they will receive without question,” Gai assured him. “Now let’s focus on the main issue.”
“There is no issue,” Kakashi continued with that same cool attitude, never for a second giving away what was going on in his mind. “The beast will be taken care of. That is the only thing that matters.”
Gai wanted to scream.
To fight, argue, and cry.
To lash out and demand an explanation for Kakashi’s attitude.
He didn’t, though. There was no outburst that would aid in this situation, and it would only serve to embarrass him and Kakashi in the long run. Instead, he turned to his advisors and steeled himself for the impending conversation. “You’re dismissed.”
“You’re majesty!” Four of them gasped, but before they could even begin to argue both Genma and Ebisu set about ushering them all out of the room. There was a bit of argument along the way, but once they were out Genma turned around and pulled the doors shut.
With everyone gone the room was now deadly silent. The weight of Kakashi’s sacrifice hung over the two of them as they stood there staring at each other.
Summoning upon just an ounce of strength, Gai began to speak. “How long?”
“Your majesty?” Kakashi answered with a raised eyebrow. “I don’t understand.”
“How long,” he repeated. “How long have we known each other, Kakashi?”
“twenty -seven years,” the answer came without hesitation or doubt.
“Twenty-seven years,” thinking back, he couldn’t help but smile. There were so many memories the two of them had shared. Times, when they had sat under the beautiful maple tree in the garden reading the book Choza-Sensei, was teaching them about. Hours they had spent running around the castle trying to see who could name the most people in the pictures that hung on the castle walls. The nights that the two of them had spent entangled in each other’s arms, whispering their promises and hiding under the blankets like five-year-olds whenever they heard footsteps just outside the door. “And this…” he waved a hand toward Kakashi, indicating the declaration he’d just made in front of him and all of his advisors. “This is how it ends?”
Lowing his eyes, Kakashi sighed. “Someone had to put a stop to it.”
“Someone,” Gai agreed as the tears began gathering in his eyes. “Not you.”
“Name someone else,” Kakashi insisted, repeating the same request he had made earlier. “One other person that can handle the task. Anyone.”
A list of names ran through Gai’s mind, but every single one of them fell short.
None of them had Kakashi’s skills. His drive, intelligence, speed, abilities with a sword. Some of them could match his skill in one or two areas or even beat him in select areas, but they weren’t as skilled as him all around.
He was the master of all trades.
The knight who had done everything in his power to perfect all of his skills, setting himself apart from others as exceptional. Once upon a time, Gai had felt nothing but pride about that. Now, all he could feel was crushing, painful regret.
“Anyone else,” Kakashi spoke again, his voice pleading this time. Begging Gai to provide him with one simple name so that he wouldn’t have to be the one to make the sacrifice.
So that he could stay here, by Gai’s side where he was supposed to be.
“I-”
“You can’t,” a bitter laugh ripped up from his throat. “I tried to think of one too. I spent all night trying to come up with one name. One person who could carry out the plan I’d come up with, but they’d all die.”
“So will you.” Tears spilled down his cheeks.
“Maybe, yes,” lowering his eyes, Kakashi drew in a breath, and for the first time since they’d met, Gai could see his lover's resolve wavering. “But I’ll succeed. That’s the difference.”
“You are so…”
“Arrogent?” Kakashi completed his sentence with a shaky chuckle.
“Selfless,” Gai corrected him, though what would usually be spoken as a compliment came out as a complaint this time. “Don’t go.”
“I have to,” Watching as his lover took a step forward, Gai found himself holding a breath as a hand came up and cupped his cheek. The warmth of Kakashi’s hand was comforting, and for just a second he was able to focus on that.
A second was a short amount of time, though, and the reality of his situation soon came crashing into his silent getaway and yanked him right back into reality. The last place he wanted to be.
“Tomorrow,” he begged, hoping to cling to as much time as he could even if it seemed hopeless. “Leave tomorrow morning.”
Kakashi simply smiled, though there was no joy in his eyes when Gai stared into them. “Tomorrow,” leaning in close, he pressed his forehead against Gai’s and closed his eyes. “And who knows. Maybe I’ll return before dinner.”
Gai laughed for the first time since hearing Kakashi’s decision. “I’ll tell the kitchen to make salt-broiled saury to celebrate.”
His heart ached, but these were precious moments.
If this really was going to be his last night with his lover, he wanted it to be fantastic. A night that he could remember for the rest of his life. No tears, no arguing, no dreading the morning to come.
Tomorrow he could spend his day fretting. Tonight, he would focus on reminding Kakashi how much he was loved, even if it broke his heart to do so.

The Parent Trap
title: The Parent Trap
summary: 12 years later, things find a way back. A Parent Trap AU.
pairing: sasusaku
note: still in the narutouniverse still following canon in the beginning, but roughly after becomes AU. this is a sneak peak of it, and there will be a slow start and no appearance of sakura and sasuke in the first few chapters if you’ve watched the movie. Also based in the “future” with some more advancements. Also some OCs in the beginning, but they’re not all significant except for ofc *ahem*. I don’t own naruto or the Parent Trap. Enjoy this sneak peak!
Ch. 1
It wasn’t a huge celebration. At all. In fact, no one really attended the first real ceremony.
It wasn’t until they returned to the village and they attended a festival together was when they got their first official picture together.
A perfectly framed one with fireworks in the background, garnered in kimonos, and a metal band wrapped around their third fingers.
12 years later -
Two feet landed on gravel as a small pink haired boy looked around his surroundings. He’s never been in Hacho Village, so he gazed at the peaks of rocky plateau around them, clear blue sky and listen to the sound of water splashing in the distance. The many cabins lined up and scattered were only second to his attention, besides the multitudes of other crowding camp students around him.
A smile found its way on his mouth anyway while he readjusted his backpack. This was shinobi summer camp of the famous Konohagakure, which is why it rested just on the outskirts of the country. A perfect place for young shinobi to not only have fun but also stay on keen on shinobi practices while having a time of their life in the summer of their youth. The country, also, that was his birth place.
“Alright, everyone gather around, stay close if your name hasn’t been called yet and find your belongings in that pile over there with Shizune Sensei.” A voice bellowed from his right. It was a middle aged man standing on top of a boulder, arms crossed. “Young man, stop trying to climb this.” He reprimanded the kid next to him before clearing his throat and starting at the top of the list on his hands.
As the first name was called, the pink haired boy quickly looked over to the pile where his belongings were. Coincidentally, he spotted his red dufflebag being dumped just as it exited the school bus trunk.
He darted over but it was too late. In less than two seconds, it was buried under a mountain of other bags.
“Ugh!” He dismayed, his shoulders slumping as his face fell.
“Satsuki Haruno!”
“Here!” Satsuki yelled, raising his hand before turning back to the pile after getting a nod from the Sensei. He hmph-ed and rolled up his sleeves.
He closed his eyes, concentrating his chakra in his arms before reaching into the pile, grabbing his bag and with the last pinch of concentration, pulled the dufflebag out smoothly.
Satsuki smiled victoriously to himself, his inner self smiling more viciously.
“Whoa, look at you go! That was deep down there. Mind helping me as well?” A boisterous blonde girl beside him asked with a grin. Satsuki smiled lightly. She kind of reminded him of his Aunt.
“No problem.” He tugged at the strap the girl was holding onto with two hands and pulled it out with ease and chakra infused.
“Thanks pinky!” She beamed. He practically could see stars in her eyes. “My names Chaku Misune. Hopefully we can spar sometime!” Chaku waved with a grin and hauled the dufflebag over her shoulder and walked away.
“She’s from my school. She’s actually a trickster. See how she easily held that bag over her? She was flirting.” A voice came from next to Satsuki. A arm propped itself on his shoulder. “I’m Boruto. You’re in Cabin Leaf too, I see? We’re headed there right now!” The darker blond boy pointed at the two other boys hanging by them. All of them wore an arm patch with a leaf and number on them, which was the cabin number and how they sorted the group.
“I’m Satsuki Haruno.” Satsuki replied with another friendly smile. “Yeah, give me a second.” He gripped his bag tighter, taking one more look around at the place and students before following the gang.
He didn’t see it, but Boruto’s face twitched a little at his name but it lasted before either could tell.
A fancy black car pulled up on the rocky road. When it came to a stop, a girl stepped out with a pouty scold. “We really didn’t have to drop me off with this car, Aoda.” But her pout was washed away and replaced with an amazed smile when she took in the atmosphere and young kids like her also running around, finding their bags and places.
“Forgive me Sarada-sama, master really requested for this.” A medium sized purple snake peaked from the open passenger seat.
“Yeah, yeah, I know Papa...” Sarada sighed in good nature, hands on hips. Then, she smiled at Aoda and bent down to his level. “Thanks for watching over me. I’ll see you all in 8 weeks.” She said and gave a friendly goodbye wave to the nameless driver as well.
Aoda’s head bobbed in a nod, his tongue slithering out now and then. “Take care and have fun, Sarada sama.”
As her ride departed, Sarada breathed in the new air and ran over to the crowd of people around the Sensei on the rock.

Tradition says that this town was founded by elements from Colinas, Trinidad, San Nicolás and Celiac, from Santa Barbara, who built their homes in the point called Llano Viejo, located south of where it is currently located, due to the scarcity of water that place was abandoned and moved to the place where it is today. In 1801 it appeared as a reduction of Tehuma (San Manuel), it was given category of Municipality on August 23, 1871 by agreement of the Political Governor of the Department of Santa Bárbara, as follows: Santa Bárbara, August 23, 1871. Mr. Municipal Mayor of San Pedro Sula. In the request of the neighborhood of Villanueva, on the matter of the Municipality, fell the determination that says Political Government of the Department of Santa Bárbara, Honduras, August 23, 1871. In view of the request that on the 28th of next month, the Auxiliary Mayor of Villanueva addressed to my Office by himself and on behalf of his Governed, asking that a Municipality be established in the aforementioned reduction because there is a need for it and the number of souls that the Law requires to a very low degree.
Given the report that the Municipality of Tehuma gave on 7 Of the current as a result of the transfer that happened to him, in whose report he denies that there are the considerable number of them is surprising jurisdiction.
Having regard to the report issued by the Governor of the San Pedro Sula circle, on the 18th of this month, in which with powerful reasons it combats what was said by the Municipality of Tehuma, founded in the literal sense of Article 122, of the governors' ordinance, thus demonstrating that it is residents of Villanueva who the corporation considers to be a strange domicile , because the said Governor affirms that the same municipals of Tehuna believed necessary the Municipality of Villanueva because on April 25 of this year, they agreed to move the residence of the same body to Villanueva, whose hacho approved even by the Supreme Government, came to be the object of question between the neighbors of Tehuma and the aforementioned Corporation , especially the Mayor who has hated the neighborhood. Considering: That villanueva's assistant has verified that there are the number of souls necessary for the municipality to be established, because even excluding those mentioned by the Tehuma Corporation, there is always enough number, adding how they should be added of El Bálsamo today Guaruma and Agua Colorada, because it is closer to Villanueva than to San Pedro and Chinda to whose jurisdictions they belong , therefore: Supported by the power given to me by Article 125 of the Governors' Ordinance and in accordance with the provisions of Articles 69 of the same and 58 of the Political Constitution and on behalf of the Supreme Government of the Republic, I declare: That the people of Villanueva must have a Municipality and consequently , I point out as jurisdictional limits with those of the Municipality with which it will adjoin the following: "For San Pedro Sula, the Chamelecón River, for Tehuma, from Playa Grande, on the banks of the same Chamelecón River, the straight line to the bridge of the Quebrada de Cañitas on the road of El Plan where the sidewalk is separated that directly to Santiago and from this same point of the bridge to the bank of the Ulúa River, in the place called Pimienta, being in the jurisdiction of Villanueva the point called El Higueral. As a result of the previous resolution, the Governor of the circle of San Pedro Sula, on the third day of receiving the present one, will proceed to organize the new municipality in accordance with the laws in force and as soon as the election is verified, he will make him take the necessary oath and explain his duties in general so that they comply with them. This is how it determines and instructs the Clerk of the Office. Giving separate notice to the Municipalities that adjoin Villanueva at the points that mark the dividing line so that they recognize them and get rid of the dominance they have had in the reductions that are annexed. Leandro José Rodríguez. Juan Sabillón, Secretary and for its punctual and exact fulfillment I insert it to you, subscribing me by your server. Leandro José Rodríguez, Governor.

Places to see in ( Gaucin - Spain ) Gaucín is a town and municipality located in the mountains of Andalusia in the province of Málaga in southern Spain. Gaucin is inland from Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona and not far from Ronda. Gaucin lies about 600 metres above sea level in the Sierra del Hacho, dominated by the Castillo del Aguila (Eagle's Castle), originally a Roman stronghold, expanded by the Arabs. Gaucín is known for its spectacular views of Gibraltar, the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco, as well the surrounding mountain scenery. Gaucin can be used as a base for visits to the so-called pueblos blancos of Andalusia. The village of Gaucin is reached by a 24 km climb up a mountain road and presided over by a medieval castle. The population is augmented by a growing group of British expatriates. In the tourist shops, cork items are very popular, because cork forests surround the village.
