Pen sketches I did the other day of Maleficent (the 1959 version) and Hades. This was inspired by an incorrect quote I found and it all just reminded me of that one time he tried to ask her out in The House of Mouse. By the way, this is my first time drawing Hades! I love the way he looks in my style, it’s unique! 🫣

"I'm sure I don't gotta spell out whose table I had the best time sittin' at, and once you've had dinner with the Mistress of All Evil, you're not left wantin' for more, babe."

do you and hades dine in the forbidden mountains or in the underworld? do you ever visit mount olympus with him?

"We have spent many hours in each of our respective lairs, of course. As for Mount Olympus, I had the... pleasure of attending a Council of the Gods soirée."

Maleficent waves her hand over the orb atop her staff, and an image takes shape depicting the event.

"Behold."

In the image in the staff, Hades and Maleficent approached the golden gates of Mount Olympus where Hermes was escorting the guests in. Hephaestus and Aphrodite were waved in before Hermes laid eyes on Maleficent.

"Whoa, hey, the fairy goth-mother is too nutty, babe," Hermes remarked, "but you know Olympus's policy: no minions allowed."

"Minion?" Maleficent asked angrily.

"Let's get one thing straight here," Hades said as he got up in Hermes's face. "I work for HER! She is under NO circumstances MY minion. If ANYTHING, I am HER minion. But, hey, you invited ME, so I'm guessing that lil' policy of yours is a moot point. Malef is here as my plus one, which, last I checked, I'm still entitled to, 'kay?"

"Whoa, don't need to tell me twice, uh, just go on in," Hermes said as he flew out of the way.

"Yeah, I think we will," Hades said as he held out his arm.

Maleficent took his arm and glared daggers at Hermes as Hades escorted her into the Cloud Nine ballroom. Most of the other gods and goddesses were mingling and snacking already. None of them gave Hades and Maleficent much more than a passing glare, but Hades knew quite well that they were gossiping about him and his date behind their backs. Hades grabbed two glasses of nectar from Ganymede's serving tray and passed one to Maleficent.

"To parties where you hate everyone in attendance," Hades said, holding up his glass.

"To, at the very least, being invited to attend," Maleficent said as she clinked her glass against his.

What does Hades or his minions like to do for Halloween?

Probably throw a big Underworld party with all of the monsters and undead souls being invited (read: required) to attend. Echidna thinks of it as essential family bonding for all of her monstrous children.

I definitely think Hades is at his best on Halloween, and it IS his anniversary with Maleficent from House of Mouse, so there's gotta be at least some romantic private time for them before or after the big party. Also you just KNOW that Hades's version of a Halloween "party" involves reeking lots of carnage and death upon the mortal world for shits and giggles XD

Oh! And Pain and Panic have organized the itinerary to the letter and they shapeshift into different forms for their costumes XD

Maleficent : That was so hot, Hades.

Hades: I literally called the person who just flirted with you a degenterate dog and told them I hope they get dragged through the streets.

Maleficent : I'm so in love with you.

(She cracks Ben and Mal’s heads together, throws Hades against a tree and flash steps to the entrance of the forest where the allies are trying to get inside. She makes them sorry they were ever born. Then she makes her way back to the clearing and fights Hades in a combined sort of tango/melee fight)

Maleficent: With the taste of my lips

You’re on a ride

I’m toxic

You’re slippin' under

Taste of a poison paradise

You’re addicted to me

But you know that you're toxic!

(She throws hades into the air and tries to shoot him with magic as he does his best to avoid the multiple blasts)

Maleficent: Taste of my

Taste of my

(Ben gets the drop on her, flies her high up, above the forest and proceeds to fight her MCU style in midair)

Maleficent: Too high, can't come down

Losing your head

Spinnin' 'round and 'round

(She grabs Ben painfully by the face)

Maleficent: Can you feel me now?

(Ben in hand, Maleficent shoots back down to the ground and starts to drive Ben through through several trees until Hades and Mal gang up on her and fight her in the same direction way that Ben did before they resort back to hurling magic at each other)

Maleficent: With the taste of my lips, you’re on a ride

I’m toxic

Taste of a poison paradise

You’re addicted to me

But you know that I’m toxic!

(Mal gets in the way of a blast meant for Hades, kicking her out cold)

Hades: get her to safety. NOW!

(Ben nods and, holding Mal in a bridal carry, teleports the two of them back to the palace.

Maleficent: you might as well give up now.

Hades: never.

Maleficent: yoyr funeral.

(They start to fight in hand to hand combat once more)
