K-Beauty Haul: Revealing the Korean Skincare and Makeup Products I picked from Beauty Box Korea
One of the most exciting K-Beauty packages I have received from Beauty Box Korea (PR). I discovered their store just recently and was amazed by the selection of K-Beauty brands, especially some brands that are popular in Korea but are not easily available on other online stores. And they don’t sell just skincare, but k-pop goods, clothes, bags, accessories, and Korean food as well!
I had a hard time narrowing down my picks to the following as I had so many items on my wishlist. But, here’s what I picked:

Aveda Botanical Repair: From Straw to Silk, Salvation for My Tresses

(the premise)
Mae govannen, my beautiful friends!
You will be glad to know that I have settled marvelously well into my new life in Minas Tirith with my husband, a guard of the royal citadel. The city holds many wonders, of which I promise to write in another missive, but today, I wish to tell you about a treasure I have discovered in one of the city's many apothecaries that cater to those who seek beauty -- mostly women, but also a few men.
It is a truth rarely acknowledged that even elves, despite their immortality, are sometimes plagued by dry, lifeless locks. Our bodies are not immune from wear -- no, not at all!
Alas, over the course of my many travails and by dint of my grief, the ends of my hair have grown dry and brittle as straw, and when this happens, there is often naught to do but cut it. I was about to do as much with great pain, but then, I came upon a shop called Aveda, where botanical extracts from faraway lands are distilled into treatments for hair-ailments of every kind.
I purchased a sample of hair masque (only to be left on for five minutes, unlike many other masques!) and a leave-in conditioner, and I must say...
Eru above, never before had my locks gone so quickly from straw fit for feeding horses, to thread of the finest silk. I had nearly despaired, but here -- here was my salvation. I could barely believe my senses. Here were my tresses, restored to their former softness, their former life. Every other herb and oil I had tried only left them heavy and brittle, or gave them a coating of false sheen that only choked out the life of the strands below. But not so with this miraculous potion.
I even shared a little with my husband: for his long, Gondorean hair which has a thicker texture, and he was delighted to report that for once in his life, he had not a single flyaway.
As such, I recommend Aveda without hesitation, without the slightest reserve. I do not often say this, but if you happen by Lamplighter's street in the city of Minas Tirith, look for the small triangular sign, and who knows, perhaps your locks will also find their salvation.
Not a whole nor proper review, but I got this hair mask in my Walmart Beauty Box and gave it a try earlier today.

I have really great hair. That's the only thing I can say with confidence, really. It's really nice.
Anyway, this hair mask is thick like a heavy lotion. It went through my wet hair nicely enough and rinsed out easily.
My hair is notably softer.
BUT...
It's also darker. My tips are usually [naturally, I have "virgin hair"] deep honey-colored (it does not photograph as light as it looks in person):
and right now they're darker like my roots.
It looks clumpy, too, though it doesn't feel oily or like there's a lot of residue on it, though it does make my fingertips feel slightly-slightly oily when I touch my hair. Those tips are mostly dry as in not wet, not like they feel dry. It feels nice.
I like this hair mask but do think it's heavier than my hair needs.
I need to try it on synthetics (dolls and ponies) next!
I do see one reviewer on Amazon saying the product is made in Israel, though, while other reviewer's photos show "Made in USA". I'll have to recheck the sample and see what it says.
I don't know if it's because I've been really ill lately or my hair just needs some extra loving this month but something needed changing in my routine. I go through phases where my hair is just a little flat and gets greasy really easily so I decided to look online and after lot's of friends recommendations I think I finally found my answer. Today we are chatting about the iconic OLAPLEX N°4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo 250ml, £28.00.
Now I already know there is going to be a big group of I told you so people out there and trust me I know I'm late to the game on this but we finally made it. Anytime you see people blog about hair products a lot of the time they will mention OLAPLEX because it is a viral hair company that a lot of stylists will recommend for people with damaged hair. I didn't necessarily need the bond strengthening range because my issue was more about build up. Instead of the original range I decided to use their Clarifying Shampoo.
If you don't know the difference, unlike other shampoos a clarifying formula focuses on removing any oil, dirt or build up from your hair and then afterwards you would deep condition your hair as this can be drying. A clarifying shampoo is recommended once a week and originally I thought this product was a lot of hype but I was pleasantly surprised! Using this shampoo made me realise how clean and fresh your hair should feel after you wash it. My hair felt so salon fresh like I just paid a lot of money for a wash and blow dry and yet I did it all myself. I've been using this shampoo for over a month once a week and I do see a major difference in how soft my hair is and how long I can go between washes before it gets greasy.
So moral of the story if you need to refresh your hair routine and you have a friend who literally works in a salon ask her what she uses and try it out! As always all products mentioned are linked above.
i've been using this lip balm since friday and i really like it! Heals my lips without making the skin overly soft. Ingredients are: castor oil, hydroxystearic acid (a thickener), sunflower oil, candelilla wax, olive oil, papaya extract, aloe extract, and rosemary extract
they don't actually mention the pawpaw but i'm assuming they think papaya is close enough.
