I’m starting to get pretty confident drawing Danny now! 

I gotta start drawing fanart for some of the fics I’ve been reading soon, or at least something more than just random poses and expressions, maybe XD

I have made fanart for Rin_may_1103's DC x DP crossover fic called "Green Never Looked So Sad Until I Lost You" on ao3

Hopefully I didn't mess anything up or miss a few color strokes, I don't think I did but probably sooner or later I'll realize I made a color mistake. Maybe 😅

Ok im finally making some headway here (the color coded ghost types/GZ chart). Ghost classification was such a mess i gave up and started searching Undead Creatures, which is where i should have started because there are much more solid lines and definitions

Anyways i figured id just make halfas their own category BUT OH HO HO they fit exactly with another preexisting category?!?!? The category itself has a not so great name because its long but its called "dying-and-rising deity" which doesn't go with my preferred one word naming system (ex. undead, revenant, etc) but anyways

LIKE HALFAS LITERALLY DIE AND RETURN OVER AND OVER AGAIN and when you add the popular idea of halfas being the same power(?) level as ancients... its perfect

If Persephone and Ishtar can "die" and return every year and count in this category than halfas most definitely count. Even if you argue they've only died once, well guess what Jesus and Baldur count in this category too and they've only died once so

Am I a heartless psychopath? Or am I a misunderstood anti hero? Alas, I am neither of those fabulous things I am just a person laying on the floor in desperate need to angst.

Give me Danny just falling sick one day and not getting better. Give me Danny collapsing during a ghost fight and not getting back up. Give me other ghosts getting concerned about him and not knowing how to cure him because they're ghosts! They don't fall sick! All they have are half memories of their past lives to work with!

Give me Danny losing appetite, falling asleep everywhere, having no energy. Give me Danny almost dying again for a second time when he falls asleep at his desk and Mr Lancer can't get him to wake up. Give me panicking adults, give me anxious Maddie and Jack and Jazz pacing in the ER lobby, waiting for a doctor to tell them what the hell is going on with their baby boy. Give me Doctors scratching their heads, panicking trying to get him stable but his vitals show he's dead already but his eyes are still open and he's still responding to stimuli.

Give me a rapidly destabilizing Danny with nobody who knows how to fix him.

And in the end, give me Vlad Plasmius giving him the miracle cure.

I need to talk about how the three halftas we see are all different.

Vlad died a slow death, it may be related to the fact that his powers seem to appear slowly, he has more endurance than Danny, and overall makes long term plans. Example: the clone thing, it must have taken a lot of time to get it right.

Danny died a quick death, he was also exposed to a bigger amount of ectoplasm than Vlad, his powers come faster, he thinks of things on the fly, i have the impression he is faster than Vlad, but not entirely sure.

And then we have Dani. Vlad and Danny are a paradox to the living, alive but dead all the same, but ghosts don’t seem to care about it, sure, if they gave it a deeper thought they probably would end up as confused as us mortals about it, but at first glance they are not.

Dani never died, she is a deathless ghost and yet she is alive all the same.

I think that would confuse ghosts, deathless ghost were, of course, never alive to begin with, and most deathless ghosts are either concepts, like clockwork, blob ghosts, or the child of some ghost. Dani is not a concept, she is not the product of two ghosts wanting children, and she spent a lot of time making it so she was not a blob of ectoplasm.

They are all different, and it makes me wonder, are there any deep differences between them? Is Dani’s ghost side more connected with her human side? Does Vlad have more stamina compared to raw power than Danny? Is Danny more capable of manifesting new powers than the others?

What about a halfta that was born from a naturally generated portal? Or a halfta created as a baby? Or a very old person? How would that affect their powers?

I wanted to make a ghost powered version of Trish who calls herself Glitch and she has Technomancy powers, aka the same abilities as Technus to control and communicate with any electronic device. Unlike Technus she focuses on the latter which is talking to or even creating a new consciousness in certain machines with enough processing power for it that she already shares an emotional attachment too like her tablet and such.

As for how she got these powers lets go with an accident at Axion Labs while trying to help Danielle deal with a major problem where Trish gets zapped while trying to hack into the system to force Technus out of it which inadvertently gives her most of the same abilities. In a way, she's kinda replacing Vallen in getting an 'upgrade.' Trish can't sense ghosts directly but she can indirectly detect them through various inventions from both Fenton Works and Axion labs.

P.S. It's a little like how things work for Daniel in my Danny Program/Ghost In The Machine AU.

I will never regret my decisions leading up to this moment

Also, I feel like I did really good on this one. This is for @danithescaredpanda 's ao3 DP x Marvel crossover "Written In The Scars" and it surprisingly only took 5hrs and 40mins

Ah also cant forget to say, I modified Danny's suit just a bit. Never got a clear answer to how old Danny was in the fic, but hes old enough that Jazz is already in college, and if I'm remembering the correct crossover, she purposefully held back on attending for a bit?? Yknow, since theres gotta be some drama in a DP fic.

So yea, I changed it up a bit and tried to make Danny look a bit bigger so he can look older, but well, its Clockwork and its difficult trying to get correct body portions against another person. One of the changes was the collar and gloves, altho you cant see the gloves too well, and I made them look a bit like gears since hes Clockwork's apprentice in the story so I hope it looks good.

I guess that's about it to say about this piece, other than to reiterate that I really do think this looks so good

I vaguely remember that I made something called a VoidCores au a while ago and i wanted to kinda clear it up a bit.

Basically the whole au was about how new ghost cores are formed. Ghost cores are the most essential part of a ghost, without which they instantaneously destabilize and turn back into ectoplasm. Ghost cores cannot be created by anything other than the Ghost Zone itself (the zone is sentient). The GZ creates new ghost cores in areas where there are dense clouds of special ectoplasm, kind of like stars forming from nebulas. The fully formed cores are then pushed out to the very borders of the ecto nebula, where they can gather regular ectoplasm and eventually form a blob ghost. Alternatively, a new core can be adopted by another ghost, and in that case, that ghost carries the core around and feeds it their own ectoplasm, enabling the cores to form a much more advanced humanoid type of ghost.

Very rarely though, the GZ can decide to "gift" a core to a ghost. (This is considered a kind of prophecy as the creatures borne from those cores turn out to play very important roles in the future. Often saving the gz.)

The gifting process though, is not very pretty. The Zone basically rips the chosen ghosts abdomen open and shoves the core inside. Not very comfortable, 0/10 experience, would not recommend.

Clockwork has had the dubious honour of being chosen by the Zone to bear one such core.

Except, it wasn't one core. It was a half of one.

The other half of it beat gently, kept safe under fragile ribs of a newborn child called Daniel Fenton.
