Summary:

“Whooah” the man whispered.

“I know right,” Grian says. He walks up to the tall man, he has long hair and if Grian was totally honest, he is quite beautiful. The man held himself confidently, one hand on a bookshelf and the other on his cane. God, he is so gay. “Welcome to Inky Caps. I've never seen you before, are you new in town?”

“You could say, you may call me Scar, what's your name?”

Grian is finaly at a stage in his life where he's happy, something that he'd wanted for years. He runs a bookshop with his sister in a mountianside town surrounded by forest, and met a hot guy who seems to like him back. Then everything changes.

This fic has a major focus on mental health and dysphoria. mind the tags and take care of yourself. it does have a happy-ish ending though.

This is a very short comic about @halfapersob and I's sad orphan children that end uo running away to the forest to be adopted by our very own dust bumny, an old fae dude and his buddy spider

I made this comic for my fairytale class because im silly and was like yes comic in a week, totally a rational idea

This comic isnt as long as i wished i could make it due to the time frame i had but i thourghly enjoyed being ablento do something with our little kids that we just have

CHARACTER DESCIPTION TIME

Hazel is roughlg 5 and has vitiligo and adhd. She has a fasination with galaxies and just about anything space along with centipedes

Caulder isnt in this comic but shes our middle audhd kid, shes roughly 8-9ish. Shes energetic and can be an asshole sometimes but shes great

And then we have erin who is the eldest, shes roughlt 12 with autism and her eye patch is due to a ast foster hoke incident. Shes cold and a massive skeptic and is insanelt protective or hazel and caulder

Dust bunny isnt featured in this one either but hes a sweet old fae who takes in these poor lost kids in and gives them a real home

Spider is the cool aunt and is gender nonconforming and is how the kids end up meeting dust bunny

Headcannons about pearl??

OHHHHHHHHHH *shakes like a Chihuahua* I'm so glad you asked

I headcannon her as aroace! <- projecting

Her pupils change with the different moon phases, and when it's full she kinda looks like one of those cats that are All Pupils

Lamps are a dangerous thing to have in your base, (moth pearl beloved) since she can get stuck staring at the light for hours

Her and Grian are siblings, but neither of them will say who's older. (often it's whoever would be funniest in the moment)

After double life she deals with seperation anxiety and touch starvation, so botem/hermit sleepovers become commonplace. Everyone does their best to remind her that she's cared for and loved:)

She has a little Tillie charm she carries with her everywhere

She likes sitting upsidedown on the couch, because I find the mental image hilarious.

Her soups are either the best thing you'll ever have, or poison! and it's a 50/50 which one you're gonna get. Good luck guessing!

I keep forgetting to say this but now you're a "true" ao3 author.

True as in, what the actual heck why is there a tree on your house.

(True, for more clarification, as in, in the authors notes some ao3 authors are like, sorry I haven't updated in q while, I got shot into space for like 2 weeks and then my house grew legs and walked away)

11. "They shouldn't treat you like that."

“They shouldn’t treat you like that,” Scar said, swaying lightly with the ship in the nighttime sea. His arms were crossed in front of himself and one eye was shut as he scrutinized Mumbo, who wouldn’t look at him.

“It’s fine,” the other man said simply. “They get the job done regardless.”

“You are their captain, Mumbo Jumbo. Not some poor teenager made to mop a deck on a Navy boat.” Scar took a step and then another toward Mumbo, cornering him against some barrels on the deck. He reached out and smoothed the lapels of Mumbo’s coat. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a crew so…rowdy with their captain before.”

 “It’s fine, they listen to Iskall-“

“Who is the right hand, yes, but not the captain. They need to listen to you.”

Mumbo groaned, very much not wanting to have this conversation, it seemed. He leaned his forehead into Scar’s and pressed his eyes shut, quiet as Scar scrutinized him again from this up close angle.

“Can we…talk about this in the morning?” he asked softly.

Scar hummed and said, “Do you agree we’ll actually talk about it?”

Mumbo made a noncommittal noise and leaned to press a kiss to Scar’s mouth as way of answer, taking in a deep breath.

“Mumbo.”

“Okay, alright, I promise I will let you actually talk to me about it in the morning after I’ve gotten some proper shut eye and don’t smell like the beer one of the crew spilled on me,” Mumbo complained, pushing himself into Scar with a grumpy look on his face. It pleased Scar well enough and he got out of Mumbo’s personal bubble to entice him to come back to their quarters and sleep instead.
