just pulled this shawl off the blocking mat!
Tumblr media
super in love with it, the only thing i would change is that it’s a little smaller than i hoped. i think i should have used one needle size larger. for some reason i have trouble trusting that looser gauges will look right even though i love them when blocked and finished lmao
also this thing had like. a billion ends to weave in because each of those little points created 2 ends so it was a bit of a slog however i think the end result is worth it!
pattern link here!

Shoutout to knitblr for getting knitting trending today. Without that I very honestly would not have finished this sweater vest (that I started over a year ago)
Also she is for sale if anyone is interested (I have not set a price nor have I finished weaving in ends but feel free to hit me up if you want the measurements 👀)

gay ass socks (part 4)
hello hello! someone reblogged my last post about these socks earlier and it reminded me to post an update! (thank you to anyone who reads these by the way i appreciate it!!!)
Tumblr media
happy to say that the calf increases worked out very well! my measurements were right on, and the stripes are looking a lot better this time around. i'm also past the point i was at before frogging, it's nice to keep making progress now!
you can't see in this photo but the yarn is just starting to transition from this coral-y shade into the true pink, it'll probably be obvious within the next few stripes! i'm gonna keep going with these until they're over my knee before i start the brioche tops, and that'll probably take a little while, but they're getting there!
not sure yet if i want to decrease back down under the knee, but i'll keep them as they are for now. as long as they're not too loose they should be ok
thanks for reading!

It’s really nice when a handspun yarn has a nice consistent color contrast stripe that lines up well with your lace row.

Note to self: have a number of really basic knitting projects going when you take on fine lace-weight lace patterns (especially in a dark color) so you can take a holiday from the fiddly bits — on the plus side, I blocked my qiviut scarf last night

I knit the Fossil Frenzy Cowl by Mary P Hunt and it was a very very good decision.

my roommate spent the last year painstakingly fingerknitting thousands of yards of yarn into thicker material suitable for a handknit blanket and a few days ago we finally sat down and put it together
Tumblr media
(me pictured)
it's extra special because she started with my own yarn scraps, some of which were from projects that i gave to her. the blanket didn't end up as tightknit as she wanted so she gave it to me in return for a blanket i'll make specially tailored to her <3
