[Hanfu · 漢服]Chinese Five Dynasties And Ten Kingdoms Period Traditional Clothing Hanfu Based On Paining <簪花仕女图/Court Ladies Adorning Their Hair with Flowers>
—————-
【History Note】
The age of creation of <簪花仕女图/Court Ladies Adorning Their Hair with Flowers> has been disputed among historical research scholars.
However, according to recent research and the excavation of more cultural relics from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, it has gradually been proved that this painting is more in line with the hairstyle and the clothes worn by court women during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period.
In particular, the towering hairstyle is very consistent with the description of noble women during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Similar female figurines were also unearthed from Tomb of the Empress of Min Kingdom (闽国) Liu Hua (Wang Yanjun’s wife) during the same period:
Happy Lunar New Year!!! This one probably doesn’t seem very obvious but a white-candy version would be terribly unlucky!! (And I need all the luck I can get). So I tried to make the lantern slightly reminiscent of the treat while the character is styled in Han Dynasty fashion. According to the legend-history of dragon’s beard candy it was invented in the Han Dynasty (202 BCE 220 CE) which makes it our oldest dessert yet! And yeah, I went off script for this one. Day 10 was supposed to be Cinnamon rolls but I’m moving some stuff around because I so rarely get the chance to post something to celebrate.

Longan in Cultural heritage garb! For the ask prompt :D
🗺 - in an outfit of their cultural heritage
Thank you for giving me an excuse to draw a costume for Alabaster to match Latte's CN server costume <3
He doesn't really have a real culture? So I put him in my cultural heritage instead :3
He's wearing a hanfu, a traditional clothing worn by Han Chinese!
Inktober day 10: The Fortune Witch(excuse my finger)
My inspiration for her comes from Ziwei Doushu, a type of chinese fortune telling that uses stars. I also love chinese astronomy, astrology not as much, but i am willing to listen to it for the sake of creating characters.
Her fan is also a wand that she uses to cast spells. She doesn't have much traditional witch traits at all, but to me being a witch is about more, and she uses a wand so there's one requirement filled.
She has magical objects of not only constellations, but lunar mansions, asterisms and the zodiac. Most go under the same category of being keys, but asterisms don't come in keys though.
Depending on if her fan is closed or not, she can perform different kinds of spells. The structure of the wand actually affects how she can use it, so she uses it strategically.
I didn't take the pictures very well today, but at least the drawing is very pretty.
I'm gonna choose her name and you bet it's gonna relate to astronomy, hopefully I find one with the character "星", "曐"(which is retro, but it fits bc of that) or "宿".
A woefully late entry to the challenge i've been failing at recently -the theme of the day: Enemy or rival
These two were designed specifically to be the polar opposites of each other both in appearance and character. Writing them is as much fun as drawing them would be - if I wasn't such a slow, incompetent artist TT_TT drawing the faces alone killed me.

For all my life... I've wanted strength. I didn't want those things precious to me to be taken away from me anymore. But, to have strength means to invite disaster to come to you. And strength alone can't really protect you.
For the feedback I received and research I did before making this here's the version of Yuu in a Chinese hanfu, it's more based on modern hanfus I was able to find and be more capable of referencing.
{Again if there's anything wrong or incorrect about the design please let me know as I would like to make this as accurate as possible even if it's biased off a more modern hanfu.}
I was originally going to draw Yuu in Mulan's hanfu for fun {the one she wore when getting ready to meet the matchmaker since I love that scene and the song so much} but I also wanted to give Yuu a different design and challenge myself a bit.
Anyways here's the final result and again feel free to give corrections on the outfit.
