#harry and hermione are not shippable characters
saintsenara · 6 months
Note
honestly is there a single competent teacher at Hogwarts? Any teacher I can think of with more than 10 lines of dialogue is a pedagogical disaster. Very shippable disasters though, for which I am grateful because your page has made me giggle all week.
maybe Sprout.
honestly, anon? no.
that school is a basket case and the older i get the more my sympathy for cornelius fudge increases. imagine getting the call where dumbledore says "heyyyyy... so, i hired what i thought was an ex-auror who was retired from the service because of serious ptsd, gave him no teacher training, let him perform illegal curses on children for fun, and then it turns out he was an escaped convict trying to resurrect the dark lord all along. lmao."
i'd have devoted myself to trying to discredit him too.
and so, for fun and profit, i think it's only fair for us to establish an official competency ranking of the teaching staff at hogwarts during the period 1991-1998... points on for having a basic grasp of the material, points off for anyone who nearly dies in your class.
1. wilhelmina grubbly-plank, care of magical creatures
genuinely, professor grubbly-plank is the only person we meet in all seven books who seems to be an uncomplicatedly good teacher. she's got a series of well-defined lesson plans which feature a mixture of guided and independent study and which work in a tangible way towards exams, she has clear authority in the classroom but is never unreasonable or cruel, she's demonstrably able to lead a practical class which involves wild animals which might behave dangerously or unpredictably without there ever being any concerns about student safety, she takes an active pastoral role [such as when she helps heal hedwig's injured wing, reassuring harry enormously], she's collegial [she shares her lessons plans with hagrid in goblet of fire, and she refuses to criticise his teaching to umbridge], and she's admired by all of her pupils except harry [who is nonetheless begrudgingly forced to admit that she's incredibly good at her job].
plus, her aesthetic is iconic.
=2. filius flitwick, charms; pomona sprout, herbology
in joint second place, we have these two.
both sprout and flitwick spend canon seeming to be pretty good at their jobs - they have interesting lesson plans which seem to balance theoretical and practical work well and which prepare their pupils properly for exams, their pupils like them and enjoy their lessons, they're both excellent at the pastoral side of their jobs [sprout's gentle encouragement of neville is really lovely], and they're adored by their colleagues.
they lose marks for lax classroom discipline. harry, ron, and hermione are constantly yapping away in both charms and herbology - with harry and ron frequently failing to understand what they're supposed to be learning because they were too busy have a chat.
=4. remus lupin, defence against the dark arts; septima vector, arithmancy
two teachers here who earn their placement on the list by having one pupil who considers them life-alteringly inspiring.
for lupin, this is dean thomas - whose constant state of readiness to throw hands to defend his honour is one of his greatest character traits. for vector, it's hermione.
obviously, they're both well-qualified, well-prepared, engaging, and [at least in lupin's case, but i can't see why it wouldn't also be the case for vector] well-regarded by their colleagues.
they don't rank higher because lupin loses marks for endangering his students by not disclosing his knowledge that the presumed-to-be-a-death-eater sirius has a means of entering hogwarts without detection [i understand why he does this from a characterisation point of view, but it's inexcusable from a safeguarding one] and because vector teaches an elective subject which is implied to only attract bright, engaged pupils - and therefore has an easier time in the classroom than someone trying to get a student like crabbe through their exams.
5. minerva mcgonagall, transfiguration
in comes minnie mac at number five.
unsurprisingly, her solid curriculum, excellent classroom discipline, high-regard among her colleagues and pupils, support of student extracurricular activities, and investment in helping her pupils pursue the careers they want all give her points.
she loses marks, however, for the fact that she is so casually disdainful of pupils who aren't instinctively good at her subject - which suggests that she doesn't know how to adapt her material so it can be understood by every student she teaches. like dumbledore, she seems to have an identifiable favouritism for brilliant students - who she seems to permit to get away with much more than students she considers average or dull - which probably doesn't endear her to anyone who doesn't get that treatment.
on her pastoral approach, though, i don't think that it matters too much that she's not particularly nurturing - even though she's a head of house. she seems to be good at responding to genuine distress and managing genuine crises with empathy, and the "pull yourself together" vibes she takes in response to more trivial dramas is because she's a presbyterian scotswoman.
6. severus snape, potions & defence against the dark arts
the one on this list that i imagine will be controversial...
because snape is a dick in the classroom - not denying that - but he's also, in terms of his pupils' exam performance, clearly the most successful teacher in the entire school. he can fill his newt-level classes despite only admitting those with outstanding grades, and he expects every pupil he teaches to pass owl-level potions and seems not to be disappointed. hermione reveals that he does teach the theory of potions and the discipline's wider application - harry and ron just don't listen - and that she thinks his lessons are interesting.
snape loses marks - obviously - for his general vibe, although i think he should be allowed some leeway for his dickhead behaviour since potions is clearly a subject in which not paying attention and not being able to follow instructions properly is dangerous [hence why i've been a trevor hater since day one].
i suppose he should also be allowed some leeway because it's a genre requirement for a school story to have a theatrically evil teacher. but he's not getting it - since he clearly enjoys the role so much.
7. horace slughorn, potions
marks on for encouraging independent thinking and for clearly being able to hold a classroom's attention. marks off for not learning the names of pupils he's indifferent to, getting his favourite pupils drunk, and for having no follow-up questions to "hello, sir. i'd like to commit some murders."
8. charity burbage, muggle studies
entirely because i think it's genuinely admirable - and, indeed, far more admirable than the fact that the order of the phoenix all happily keep working for the state following voldemort's takeover - that she publishes an article in the daily prophet, to which her real name is attached, explicitly refuting blood-supremacist rhetoric when she must know that a blood-supremacist government is about to come into power.
marks off because the fact that even wizards who've taken her class appear to know fuck all about muggle society means that she can't be particularly good at her job.
9. firenze, divination
marks on because his pupils love him, marks off because that's a tremendously low bar to clear given... trelawney.
him telling his classes that divination is a bullshit, made-up subject is iconic, though.
10. "alastor moody", defence against the dark arts
i think it's genuinely impressive that he manages to go from being imprisoned under the imperius curse for a decade straight into planning a full year's lesson plans [which his pupils love] and doesn't have a breakdown.
marks off because of literally everything else.
=11. all the miscellaneous teachers: aurora sinistra, astronomy; silvanus kettleburn, care of magical creatures; bathsheba babbling, ancient runes
they seem fine.
14. rolanda hooch, flying
full respect to her for managing to wangle a full-time salary out of an annual workload made up of teaching one lesson [badly] and refereeing six quidditch matches.
15. quirinus quirrell, defence against the dark arts
all the proof those of us who hate professor riddle stories need that voldemort would have been a dogshit teacher, if he can't even get his meat-puppet to inspire a room full of eager eleven-year-olds in a subject which is about the coolest ways possible to kill people.
=16. cuthbert binns, history of magic; sybill trelawney, divination
they're terrible, obviously, but the fact that they remain in their jobs despite being so clearly incompetent is entirely dumbledore's fault. are you not giving the staff performance reviews, albus? come on now.
18. dolores umbridge, defence against the dark arts
umbridge deserves to be in prison, but she did at least bother to plan out a curriculum.
=19. gilderoy lockhart, defence against the dark arts; rubeus hagrid, care of magical creatures
both victims of dumbledore's "lol this will be so funny" era of hiring practices. both deservedly regarded as completely fucking incompetent by all but one defiant brownnoser. both possessing jazzy taste in textbooks.
21. amycus carrow, defence against the dark arts
he beats his sister simply because his pupils do appear to know how to perform the unforgivable curses correctly.
22. alecto carrow, muggle studies
literally nothing positive can be said.

My smoking hot take is that while Ron is an incredibly shippable character (though not as shippable as Harry, of course) Hermione might be the Least shippable character in the entire series.

Characters for you soup!!!!!
Sirius and Ron!!!
SIRIUS AND RON LETS GO!!!!!
How I feel about this character:
Sirius — my absolute favourite. I’ve loved him for years and became vaguely intrigued the moment I read Hagrid say his ‘unusual’ name in Philosopher’s Stone (I think I was ten? So 14 years now). He’s a humongous prick he’s highly intelligent he’s hot and uninterested in basically everybody. I need him to be characterised well in fic: far too often he’s written as unhinged in a childish way, which is just Not It. I love it when he makes mistakes in spite of his competency and the mistakes actually make sense (for the situation, his age, his prejudices, etc). He’s so violently his own person and he should be allowed to be.
Ron — Won-Won my beloved. The James to Harry’s Sirius. Ride or die as long as he doesn’t let his insecurities get the better of him. Intelligent little shit who hates studying if he’s not interested in it. Character development King. He’s got so much depth that Ron-bashing fics need to fully mischaracterise him in order to make it viable (and then it still isn’t really). He’s had his bad moments (fourth year and the horcrux hunt comes to mind), but he always comes ‘round again, even if I wish the issues were talked out more. The series wouldn’t be the same without him.
Who I ship romantically with this character:
Sirius — James, obviously. Lily, but usually in a triad with James. Harry, sometimes. Well-written OC’s. Voldemort. Bellatrix, Narcissa. Marlene McKinnon too, though it’s been quite some time since I read any Blackinnon. I like him with Kingsley as well.
Ron — Hermione, Harry, Pansy, Viktor Krum, Lavender. Sometimes an intriguing OC. Draco, when he’s redeemed. I’ve read Ron/Blaise and had a blast.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Sirius — Oh gosh, probably Remus,,, but in a non-romantic Prongsfoot situation it’s James.
Ron — Hermione and Harry 100%… though I love a Ron&Draco (post-war and redeemed) situation, as they tackle the Muggle Household Appliances. Ron and Draco versus The Refrigerator Light.
My unpopular opinion for this character:
Sirius — ig it’s that I don’t think Remus is his soulmate or whatever, or that he’s a whiny twink. He’s incredibly shippable, first of all, and he does give off the vibe (in the books) of being a guy who generally conforms to a Straight Wizard Standard in terms of looks and values. He doesn’t look or act particularly muggle, but he’s fascinated by the culture; he doesn’t regularly paint his nails either I don’t think, and when his nails are painted it’s probably bc he had a tea-party with his (grand)daughter—he’s not scared of displaying femininity, but he’s not actively performing it . I also don’t think he was physically abused by or genuinely hated his parents. A kid doesn’t need to be all but (or literally) tortured physically to run away from home.
Ron — he’s not dim, or obsessed with food, or nothing more than comic relief. He’s a witty tactical genius, the youngest son, who sort of pales in comparison to Literally Survives Anything, The Chosen One Cockroach Harry Potter and Brightest Witch Of Her Age Hermione Granger. But he’s still an integral part of the trio, and he’s an incredible wizard when he applies himself, and he’s funny and logical and emotional. I think him and Hermione are cute together too.
One thing I wish had happened with this character in canon:
Sirius — I wish he’d lived. If not for Harry then for himself. He should’ve grown old, free and happy.
Ron — I think him helping George with WWW is a fun choice, but I think it would’ve been grand if he’d taken over a pub or something. Never starting Auror training, just immediately working at the Hog’s Head or the Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Cauldron and later taking over the place. He seems like the type — warm, funny, sociable — to be around people, listen to their problems, talk to them. An easier, slower life.

Rarepair Tag Game
Thanks for the tag @danpuff-ao3
Rules: List the top rarepairs that you like outside of your OTP, and why you ship it! (Criteria for what makes a rarepair is up to your own discretion.)
My current OTP is Sirius/Severus and I have made enough noise about them. So here is my other small favourites:
Ginny/Hermione
They are SUCH a good ship? Immaculate friends to lovers. They enjoy each other's company, share secrets, and there is enough tension and complements in how they interact with each other and the world for it to work. Also cannot get over how Hermione says that Harry would notice Ginny if she was bit more "herself"? For Hermione, the very simple but strong belief that Ginny would catch attention of the boy of her dreams by simply being herself. Hermione sees the sun. (I also greatly enjoy the idea of Ginny/Cho and Ginny/Blaise, thanks to @bluethepineapple work for Winter Sun fest)
Rolf/ Luna
Listen, there were few years in my life that I worked for an outdoor company and was surrounded by outdoor guides. These boys (women started coming into the industry very late and in small numbers) are some of the best people you can hang out with: funny, bright, very practical, conscientious. They also have deep rooted anxiety and need for control all the time, and to me, it really fit with the outline of Rolf given in extra canon. He was a good POV to discover Luna, a character who is defined by not being in her physical reality all the time. I wrote them together in an adventure fic and I unashamedly ship my own version of them.
Andromeda/Any Morally Grey Man
Listen, I love Andromeda/ Ted as much as the next person, but I recently read Andromeda/ Rufus Scrimgeour and my jaw dropped? Andromeda is such an interesting outline of a character in canon, and I love the directions fandom has taken with her: keeping her very much an intimidating Black sister, but with softer edges to play with. So here I am going to recommend the incredibly smartly written : A wilder beast from West than all were by eldritcher/ and the interesting take on Andromeda/Rodolphus : Till We have Faces by TeddieJean. I also greatly enjoyed the Andromeda/Lucius from @decemberistafic wonderful "I Awaken With Your Name"
Snape/ Petunia
I read and enjoy lot of Snape fics with various permutations and combinations with him (he is very shippable, and each new characters brings a different side of him) - but I recently read @maria-de-salinas Regretfully Yours and I am utterly charmed by this pairing. I really loved how skillfully the story was written, and how very vulnerable it was! These are the rarepairs I enjoy off the top of my head. Tagging anyone who would like to do this!

you dislike Her*mione, do you?
You don't have to dislike a character just because you dislike a ship you stupid fuck anon.
On the contrary, I rather like Hermione's character in the books. I think without her rationality, intelligence and hot headedness Harry would have been dead half way through book one.
I don't however like what the fandom has made her - a sexy, highly attractive, bad-ass, ultra-shippable character. She's far from that. She's not very good looking and she's incredibly irritating.
That's why I dislike the premise of bellam!one and many other non-canon herm!one ships.

B for fandom ask game
B: A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind.
Usually I get introduced to pairings by seeing an interesting fanfiction and thinking "huh that looks interesting!" and then clicking on it
A few exceptions where it was people rather than fanfiction that introduced me to a pairing:
(pairings under the cut, tw for off-handed incest mention at the end)
-Hermione/Luna (Harry Potter): I had a friend in grade eight who was ride-or-die for this ship and would basically bust out a powerpoint every time shipping came up, and I'm still very nostalgically attached to that pair
-Pepper/Natasha (Marvel Universe): we were rewatching the second Iron Man film during the pandemic, my partner mentioned how shippable they were, and bang I had a full multichapter OT3 fic in my head where Pepper dates both Natasha and Tony and they're all cool with it and Natasha and Tony get to be friends about it
-Han Solo/Luke Skywalker (Star Wars): in the first couple years of university I had a friend who was really obsessed with Luke Skywalker as a gay icon: I didn't really understand it at first but I grew to quite enjoy their interpretation of the character
And of course a shoutout to all the high school friends who tried to convert me from Destiel to Wincest: they never succeeded but I still honour their memory

Hermione is one of those extremely shippable characters (at least for me) and she's the easiest for me to write, so that's fun. Anyway, top 5 fav ships with Hermione
Hermione/Fred (just absolute perfection
Hermione/Neville (they were each other's first friend and that's sweet)
Hermione/Charlie (dragons.)
Hermione/Harry (the characters are just mwah)
Hermione/Sirius (Marauders time travel is a very fun trope)
honorable mentions include:
Dramione
Slytherins/Hermione
Pansy/Hermione
Ginny/Hermione

I think you’re dead on about the audience turning on the series because they didn’t realize they just outgrew it, but also I feel like the point where the story itself started to mature was where a lot of people fell off. The transition from it being a series where Harry is the protagonist in his school adventures to being a series where Harry is the POV character navigating Dumbledore’s decades of preparation made all the fandom-compatible shippable stuff take a backseat to the bigger story and suddenly people couldn’t project their own Hogwarts fantasy onto the books
yeah I have thoughts on this too because while listening to these books, knowing the 7th book is coming, it helps to re-contextualize them. I think the shipping aspect of fandom was predictable but the text actually barely supports shipping lol. ron and hermione are set up as having crushes on each other in little bits and pieces, but really other platonic scenes overshadow these. other than that like literally almost no romance happens. the only other truly canon couple in any meaningful way are harry and ginny, and they're late in the game. these two romance stories have their biggest part to play in the 6th book, which is perfectly where it belongs because the kids are 16 and jkr knew the 7th book was about to be the longest saddest camping trip in the world away from hogwarts. the romantic antics in the 6th books are mostly played for humor and hijinks.
now I remember jkr having a number of comments post book 7 that struck me as weird about ron and hermione (like, weird for an author to engage with her work that way...), but I don't feel like looking them up. I'll probably get to it later. to me, pairing ron and hermione up makes sense. 2 best friends with the common goal of supporting harry potter + jkr knows she's going to write a failing of the trio in book 7 with ron leaving them. set up, pay off, badda bing badda boom. I have a lot of thoughts about ron leaving that will probably make ron-haters and jkr-haters angry alike but like it was good writing and necessary lol. I'm not there yet though obviously. idk maybe I'll make a post about it because that plot point has been playing on my mind a lot while listening to the first two books, probably because the first two books are so focused on setting up the best friend gang, and at this rate it'll be next year before I get to book 7.
but yes, the books unintentionally are perfect fandom fodder with magically worldbuilding, school houses, hundreds of characters in a bottleneck...and years and years between books. I wouldn't be surprised if many people were disappointed in the 7th book's departure

harry potter and steve rogers are extremely shippable characters because they literally fall in love with anyone they come across. i ship harry with like….every student at hogwarts other than hermione, and a lot of people ship him with hermione. and i ship steve with like…..everyone who is not too young or a bad guy…well…loki runs a steve stan account so-
anyways, moral of the story is that if you are a genuinely good and nice person who is also extremely bisexual and famous then you have a chance with a lot of people….oh wait…they are both extremely awkward around people and have literally dated like one and a half girls in total…nevermind

I've seen many kind of ships in different fandoms and every fandom have toxic ships. The lead girl is shipped with every possible character. In HP, Hermione is literally shipped with EVERYONE. From Harry to Draco, Snape, Bellatrix, Tom Riddle, Scabior etc. I think if Umbridge would've been a handsome man, the people in our fandom would ship Hermione with Umbridge 😐.
This post is not about saying things to the shippers. This is about my opinion about Hermione not being a kind of girl who can be shipped with so many people. She is insecure af, she don't want to be the attention of boys. She just wanted Ron's attention throughout the series.
I've not seen people shipping Ginny the way they ship Hermione. Ginny is much more shippable than Hermione. She is a kind of girl who is the crush of every boy. I'm not saying that start shipping Ginny with toxic people. I'm saying that it's not compulsory to ship the lead girl with everyone, you should see the personality of the girl before shipping her.
I HATE almost all fanon ships, actually I don't hate all, but the canon ships are much better. And on an important note, I just wanna say: STOP SHIPPING HERMIONE WITH DEATHEATERS, ITS THE WORST THING TO DO.

1, 19, 26 of the salty ask list💕
What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*
hmmm. Draco and Hermione. I don't get it at all. Second Harry and Draco. Like I get the appeal and the fanart is good but I often scratch my head about it.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
That people get upset when someone's headcanon (like for little things) is not the same as theirs. They all want people to agree with them and if they don't they become assholes with them. i hate that. Everyone has different ideas and not everyone is going to like it and that's okay, just be respectful
26. Most shippable character?
Harry!!! He's shippable with almost everyone because he deserves to be loved and taken care of :')

fandom questions for: harry potter? 😊
Hi! Yay for Harry Potter! I’m not really into the fandom and I stopped reading after book 7 (that’s the end for me), but this should be fun! So, just for reference, I was a preteen when I first read the books and about 13/14 when I started the movies.
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Draco Malfoy. I read the first book and I was like: “Oh. This one. The snarky little snob shit”. He was mean yes, but also very entertaining. Tom Felton did the rest (I heard he’s kinda problematic tho, and it kills me inside a bit).
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Luna Lovegood. When she came out in the books I felt that she was too strange and exaggerated even for that world, I though that she was, well... too much? Then I saw the movies, Evanna Lynch was great and as I grew up I understood her character better.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t: James Potter. I get the Marauders hype, but I couldn’t for the life of mine bring myself to like him because he was such a douche when he was young. Don’t get me wrong, Draco was a bastard plenty of times, but as the story unfolds we gather info about his bad upbringing, his abusive household, the pressure he’s put under, his insecurities etc. On the contrary, as far as I remember, the only thing we see about young James is that he was horrible to Snape and nothing else. Sure, he grew into a good, brave and responsible wizard, a courageous father and husband, but it’s just... not enough for me?
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Hmmm I don’t know, some people hate Draco so I guess that’s him?
5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Tough one! My taste in characters is very constant through time so I don’t think there’s a character who really fits the description. As I grew up I became more critical towards Snape though, because of his attitude as a professor. I used to justify his harshness towards his students because of his past, but growing up I realized that he was a grown ass man treating literal children like sh*t, and after meeting a couple professors in real life that were utter b*stards too I understood that he could and should have been a better teacher and man to them (even though he actually saved them, etc). I still think he’s a solid character and there are still some qualities I like in him though.
6. The character I would totally smooch: I’m not much of a smooch person but if I had to I’d say Draco or Cedric (the poor boy!)
7. The character I’d want to be like: Hmmm there’s not really a character I want to be like but many of them have beautiful qualities. I love Ron’s loyalty and generosity, Hermione’s intelligence and courage (in the movies, the girl erased her parents’ memories of her to protect them, if this isn’t courage I don’t know what is), Fred and George’s carelessness and Snape’s brains and cold blood.
8. The character I’d slap: This doesn’t come as a surprise I bet, but catch these hands, Dolores Umbridge! Also young!James Potter, and also a half-slap to Slughorn because of his teaching methods that pitted students against each other to enter his (rather ridiculous) club.
9. A pairing that I love: Here comes the difficult part! So, as in everything I read/watch I’m not really into ships but I’ll give it a try. I kind of appreciate Ron and Hermione as a ship: they balance each other and they know each other well, they’re supportive and overall pleasant. Remus and Tonks were pretty cute too, a woman who could change her appearance as she liked and a man who was forced to transform into something he feared? Interesting! As far as fanon is concerned, I see the fascination with Drarry and Dramione as dynamics (Draco is pretty shippable tbh). I would have liked to see more of them (the parallels and differences between Harry and Draco? Poetic cinema), but at the same time I feel like they’d have some work to do to avoid being toxic before actually being a couple (especially on Draco’s part towards Hermione).
10. A pairing that I despise: None in canon, actually. In fanon, anything involving relationships between one of the kids and an adult, and also in*est.
Thank you so much for your ask, I don’t really get to speak often about hp so this was nice! 💛
(Also, sorry for the late reply!)

Thanks for the ask! :D
What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get? There are plenty of ships I am not a fan of but I mostly "get" it, at least the popular ones, and the ones I don't are usually rare shipping anyway. However, in the MCU, I cannot understand shipping Peter and Tony. It seems it has picked up popularity and it's just a hard pass from me.
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP? So many. While I like friends to lovers, I somehow rarely ship the best friends to lovers. So Steve and Bucky, Kirk and Bones, Harry and Hermione (though I guess that the best friends in this case would be 'Harry and Ron', which I also don't ship), Chloe and Clark- I just end up preferring them as friends.
Most shippable character? I used to have a lot of Chloe ships when I liked her. Now, possibly Bucky.
Least shippable character? For me, Clark. Just because I'm very picky on his ships and the dynamics I like for him.

Ooh thank you for the ask. 😘
-
1. What was your first OTP?
I think the first movie I remember with a pairing I thought needed to be together was Sarah and Jareth in Labyrinth when I was very young.
As an adult in online fandoms though, my first ship was Harry and Ginny in HP. I shipped them for about 2 months before I accidentally stumbled on a Draco/Ginny fic and jumped ship and the rest was history. :)
-
8. Who is the most shippable person you can think of?
This is an interesting question. I'm a mega-monogamist when it comes to my otp shipping but there are a couple characters I would be happy reading various pairings for.
Hermione Granger is one like that. I really like her with Ron but I can also read her with George or Cedric or even Harry. And then there is Darcy Lewis. I love her with Loki and Bucky but have also read a poly Steve/Darcy/Bucky fic or two and enjoyed them as well. In Riverdale, Veronica is an example of a character who I'd be perfectly content with Archie or Reggie or Cheryl or Toni or Sweet Pea. As long as she's not breaking up my otp, I'm really flexible and I think that's the definition of being very shippable.
-
10. Do characters have to have canon interactions for you to ship them?
They really don't. For example, my HP OTP only had a small handful of canon moments and they were overwhelmingly negative moments. I feel pretty blessed that my current long-standing otp is/was/will be again together in canon, but it certainly isn't a requirement.

26 & 22 pls? 🧂 ❤️
Hi!! Thanks for these hard questions lol. Again from the Harry Potter world...
22.) Popular character you hate?
Can I pick JKR herself?
Snape is definitely not popular by all accounts, but this is a good time to say that I think his behavior from the books to students is beyond redemption. Otherwise, I’d say perhaps Molly Weasley? Don’t get me wrong, she’s great for Harry in a lot of ways, and I love many aspects of her character, but I really dislike how she worked so hard to keep Harry in the dark about info during OOTP, and how she rejected Hermione for a while during GOF (I believe it was that time? With the Easter egg thing?)
26.) Most shippable character?
I have trouble with Remus or Sirius being with anyone other than each other, so I can’t pick them. I’d say maybe Harry? Boy is just oblivious, and he can definitely be read as being romantically interested in almost anyone.
