Azriel x Shy!Reader Headcanons

Azriel loves his shy little mate. It always bring a spark lighting up his darkness thinking about how he first met you. How you couldn't even make eye contact with him without nervously giggling. Az at his baseline is quiet, but he is confident. He knows that he is attractive, knows that he can take any male or lady to his bed. But from the moment he met you, its like his entire universe shifted to revolving around you. He spent the entire night trying to quietly converse with you and focus your attention on him. Any time you would shy away, avoiding his gaze, he would lean down to force eye contact, scarred hand tilting your chin up at him so his pretty hazel eyes could peer into yours. He was literally hooked, trying to pull your soft smiles. It took one night with you for him to want to bring you all the stars in the sky to your palm.

The male is constantly trying to woo you. Even after decades of being mated, Azriel continues to make an effort into your relationship, learning new things about you, picking up on your habits, and honestly... he just loves dating you. He loves taking you out on dates, sometimes out to Rita's for dancing, and sometimes on midnight flights to the valleys just outside of Velaris for a late picnic and stargazing. He would do literally anything just to see your eyes light up in joy from his effort and love.

He adores watching you get dressed up for him, smirking at your sharp stare at him to get out of the room so you can change, his eyes twinkling with mirth because you're still so modest after he has seen you countless times in your bare form.

In the mornings, he likes to silently sneak up to your shared bathroom door, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed against his chest, quietly observing you do your morning skincare and makeup. "Can I get some of that too doll?" He mumurs, wrapping a thick arm around your waist, turning you towards his gently. You stare up at him confused, rubbing your lips together, pressing in the cooling balm, "the lip balm?" you ask, head tilted to the side while you hold up the container at him. He silently nods, mischief flickering when you hum okay. Then he pulls your chin up before kissing you deeply, pulling away all too soon, "thanks dovey," while swaggering away smacking his lips, all confident and proud of himself.

Az brings you a fresh bouquet flowers all the time. He is the kind of male to keep on the flowers so that he can ensure he gets you another bouquet as soon as the old one starts to droop. Male has gone as far as taking your old bouquets and getting them pressed into frames so that you can hang them in your shared home. The walls of your mini library that he had specifically built for the both of you is filled with frames of all of the bouquets he has bought for you. Eventually, when you have your baby girl, her nursery is decorated with all those framed bouquets. It works out perfectly as your library walls were running out of room. And omg he is the kind of male to pick your favorite out of the bouquet and tuck it behind your ear while caressing ur cheek, looking at you like you have hung the moon and all the stars in the sky.

Speaking of your hair, Az brushes your hair ALL THE TIME. He is an act of services male at his core, and he wants to pamper you. The first time he saw you brushing your hair, his eyes nearly popped out from how rough you were being. Male now refuses to let you brush your own hair. He will settle you into his lap, his shadows swirling around the both of you, tickling your ankles while he combs your hair ever so gently, removing the knots with the utmost care, peppering kisses along your neck, cheeks and shoulders, and right at that tender spot behind your ear. Basically any skin that he can expose, he will and will lay the softest kiss to your perfect skin.

Azriel being spymaster gives him many skills. Skills like patience, creativity, and precision. And he uses those skills on you all the time. Especially when it comes to painting your nails for you. As mentioned previously, the male is an acts of service KING. He takes extra care to make sure the edges of your nails are smooth and clean, the designs he creates for you are different in style and technique. He obviously lets his shadows pick a different color every week for you, and that will be the theme for the rest of the week, when it comes to the colors of the flowers he gets you, to the pretty dress he saw in the market that he bought for your date night, to the dinner he makes for you both that week. Ugh love this male so much.

OMG and he is going to get on his knees for you. Anytime, anwhere, he will drop to his knees to tie your untied shoelaces. He is concerned his precious girl will fall over and bruise your skin. Oh, and he loves to help you put your heels on, kissing your ankles before getting up. Male worships the ground you walk on, I cannot BREATHE.

Azzie also has your coffee and drink order memorized. And he will absolutely go up to the front and get it changed for you if you don't like it or if they made it wrong, hushing your quiet pleas for him to sit back down with a soft kiss to your nose. He is very kind about it, will wait until the rush calms down to take drink back up and will tip extra to make sure he isn’t stepping on any toes, but is firm that they messed up his girls drink, and that needs to be fixed. We love a strong confident dominant male.

Unfortunately, being spymaster, Azriel is a very busy male. All his free time is spent with you, or on you, but he does have to work from time to time. Not to worry though, his shadows like to keep you company, especially when their master is not too far; being in his office working on paper work or out with Cassian training. They all crave your attention, fighting over which one can bring you your drink and which ones can play with your hair. Every 15 minutes, they are rushing back to their master to report back on you and whine about how one shadow is stealing all your attention.

Children, those little shadows.

Speaking of Azriel's free time, watching you do your hobbies is HIS favorite hobby. Weather you are basking in the sun while reading, to watching the crinkle in your eyebrows furrow further while you write, to watching you purse your lips while you taste the tart in the lemon curd you are making for dessert. He could sit back and watch you for hours and feel completely at rest and at peace, shadows singing in the background and soul buzzing along to their song.

He will climb into your shared bed to do his paperwork next to you while you sleep, especially if it has been a while of him sitting in the office and he feels like he has hit a wall. He will often working single handedly because he wants to hold your hand all night long, feeling much more motivated to protect Velaris with you at his side. He has something worth working for, worth protecting.

Neither of you are big fans of PDA, but that does not mean Azriel will go without touching you. He wants to make sure everyone knows who yo belong to… and moreso, who he belongs to. Male loves for people to know he is TAKEN.

Cannot get enough of when you get a little protective over him, seeing as that male across Rita’s has been eyeing him throughout the entire night. So while you and him go up to the bar for more drinks, you squeeze his tight ass in view of that male, and everyone else, to see. Azriel is thoroughly amused, a thrill shivering through his wings as he smirks down at you while you avoid his gaze, chin up in defiance as a hot flash runs through you.

Don’t worry though, he is not afraid to wrap his thick arm around your neck and pull you into his side with a soft kiss to your temple, hazel eyes adoringly tracing your soft features. He also guides you with his hand resting at the small of your back through the crowd, and ugh does it get you heated.

Anyway... I am tired of writing but I probs have more to add to this headcanon later so part 2 maybe??

Honestly broski is glad ur even dating him

He’s an obvious introvert and prefers you and him alone somewhere like in your room or outside having a picnic.

Definitely prefers just the two of you but if you decide to go out he doesn’t say anything in the moment but suggests u don’t ever do that again later on.

Hi! I just saw your response to keeping peafowl, and was wondering if you could elaborate on the chocolate color being unethical? I'm guessing it has something to do with bad breeding?

Charcoal! Charcoal is an unethical color morph because the hens are sterile and both sexes traditionally tend to live shorter lives- 7-9 years instead of 20+. There are some birds that live longer, but the sterility is linked to whatever gene causes the color alteration. Charcoal birds are likely hypermelanistic or axanthic birds, almost completely black, and so the morph has not been allowed to die off despite the complications. Most people tend to avoid them, though, so they're fairly uncommon. A better choice if you want a dark bird is a midnight blackshoulder, a buford bronze BS, or even a Sonja's violeta BS.

The other unethical "morph" isn't a morph at all; many years ago a bronze bird was produced who had white spots. As he aged, the white spread. The people who didn't know what it was called it "progressive pied" and attempted to reproduce it, not knowing that they were passing on an autoimmune disease that causes vitiligo. In peafowl, this causes pigment cell death, but whatever the culprit is also suppresses immune response and causes blindness. These birds RAPIDLY decline in health after a few years, and are usually euthanized. Unfortunately, because it was and still IS sometimes touted as a pattern morph, it is still being bred in some places, and can randomly pop up in lines connected back to that original bronze. Bronze, purple, and hazel/indigo are common carriers depending on where the birds are located.

okay the exxon mobile trend on tiktok is literally everything. for those who haven't seen it - you basically call a loved one and tell them you got a job doing underwater welding for exxon mobile and listen to whoever you called flip out because that job is basically a guaranteed early death sentence. it's usually girls calling their dads and their reactions are so delightful.

Obviously, Hazel sees this trend and has to try it. Problem is - she's seventeen, in high school, lives at home, and isn't in the market for a job. Steve and Eddie would immediately see through her BS in a second.

She asks Moe and Robbie if one of them wants to try. They decide amongst themselves that Robbie should do it because she is actively looking for a job at the time, and Moe films Robbie as she makes the call.

Eddie, picking up the phone: Hello Robert.

Robbie: So you know how you're forcing me to get a job if I want to stay in New York over the summer?

Eddie: Don't love your choice in words there, but yes.

Steve: You got a lead?

ive seen posts about dark percy and dark jason but what about

dark little three?

now for some context (cuz that name sounds silly), the little three popularly consists of jason, percy and nico (sometimes thalia, percy and nico but i'll be mostly talking about the boys)

but what if all three boys just one day snap? after dealing with the gods' bs for so long - such as defeating titans and primordial beings for them, saving the world too many times to count, being treated like toys for the gods, losing friends and family just for the sake of justice - percy, nico and jason just lash out in anger?

percy can bloodbend and dehydrate to torture

jason can quite frankly manipulate nerve impulses and air molecules in the body

nico can instantaneously kill and banish literally anyone into hell

they would be unstoppable, undefeatable (let's ignore the big three for now)

and to add on, what if jason and nico manage to convince thalia and hazel respectively to join them as well? just imagine: two children of Hades, two children of Zeus, and one child of Poseidon teaming up and destroying everything?

idk how tf mortals will call that as "natural calamities"

one demigod powers retcon that really annoys me is how demigods being trained with the Mist works. Because in TTC we learn that Thalia is extremely well trained with manipulating the Mist and learned how to do that while living as a rogue with Luke. But then in HoH when Hazel meets Hecate, and every time Hazel uses the Mist to create illusions afterwards, it’s treated as functioning entirely differently and that mastering the Mist is something that Very Few People Can Do (when in TTC Thalia explains that it’s extremely easy for any demigod to manipulate the Mist). And then again in MCGA we get another retcon where Alex insists that it’s better to do more mythological stuff rather than try to hide it because doing so generates more Mist and so hides stuff from mortals better, which is just an explicit retcon because that scene self-refers to how that’s contrary to everything we’ve been told about how the Mist functions since TLT.

I get the Mist is a catch-all, but we already have a distinction between the Mist and general magic/sorcery, particularly with characters like Circe, Medea, and Hecate kids like Lou Ellen and Alabaster (and then also a distinction between Greco-Roman magic like the Hecate kids use and Egyptian magic like the... Magicians use. But also Annabeth was able to use Egyptian magic, so). The sorceresses on Circe’s Island and also just generally Circe and Medea themselves confirm that in-universe anyone can learn magic (and Reyna and Hylla having lived on Circe’s Island and studied under Circe implies that both of them should know some magic, but we never see them use it).

So just generally it doesn’t make sense for Hazel to learn how to use the Mist specifically rather than learn general magic from Hecate if she’s going to learn special abilities at all - and it’s kind of a moot point anyways because her getting that guidance is implied to be a Special Exclusive To Hazel Ability but Mist or magic either way it’s impossible for that to be the case? It would have made way more sense to just have Hecate, as a chthonic goddess, go “Oh hey Pluto kid. How’s those powers of yours going? Wait, what do you mean you haven’t figured out how to do [x], [y], or [z] yet? Those are totally within your scope of powers based on your father. No no no, okay: Here’s a blessing from me and here’s some tips on how to do that. Now go kick a guy off a cliff or something.” and then Hazel scurries back to everyone and unlocks like 3 new OP abilities as a daughter of Pluto because dammit if Nico can BS his way into having whatever weird tangentially Hades-related powers he wants, so should Hazel! And we can even keep the same general powers scheme that she gets from utilizing the Mist by just saying she unlocked some kind of illusion abilities because it’s already implied since BoTL and Nico and Bianca had powers similar to that (Bianca sending Percy visions of Nico’s whereabouts, and Nico imparting an aura onto the Titan Army to part his way AND in HoO repeatedly casting out his memories/emotions) and that’s all we’ve ever really seen her use the Mist for anyways.

Talkin mcd werewolves

I always had such a spot spot for the mcd werewolves. Specifically, I really liked how they didn’t go down the Twilight route, keeping traditional anthro and scary designs and not doing Alpha bs (cough cough mystreet).

That being said, the werewolves felt kind of poorly defined to me, the tribes were more like plot devices, appearing and vanishing without any real discussion of the impact. The fact that Bodolf’s tribe was hardly mentioned in season 2 I think shows that they ran out of ideas for the werewolves.

Luckily my brain is absolutely overflowing with ideas about them, so here’s my redesigns and thought process:

To anthro or not to anthro?

While I really liked the choice of anthro werewolf designs, I absolutely suck at drawing anthros. It also felt weird doing that for child characters, I know the series kept kids as normal wolves but does that mean werewolf puberty involves an awkward transition from animal to anthro? It just kind of Icked me out, so I’ve decided to keep all werewolves as full wolf transformations. Unlike twilight though, I’ll be largely referencing Wolfwalkers.

Tribes

I know the series had four tribes, but so far I’ve only needed three for the story. If I ever need more tribes, I’ll add more. I haven’t named them yet either, so I’ll denote them by color for now.

Red Wolves

Og wolf tribe, led by Bodolf and Khira. Wolves in this tribe are smaller than the other tribes, with shorter limbs, tails, and muzzles. They have light patches on their muzzles, above the eyes, and on their paws. Brown and Amber eyes are most common.

Brown Wolves

Yip’s destroyed tribe, and also the type Logan was turned into, hence Yip bonding with him so quickly. They are the largest and stockiest wolf tribe, with wide muzzles and short ears. They have lighter markings under their eyes, on their chests, and the underside of their tails. Green and hazel eyes are most common.

White wolves

Fenrir’s tribe. Medium-sized, but thin and lithe, almost more fox-like than wolf. Large ear tufts, neck ruffs, and tails make them look larger than they are. They have dark markings inspired by huskies. Blue and grey eyes are most common.

All tribes, despite size difference, are significantly larger than actual wolves, and most adults werewolves outweigh the average human.

Werewolf Creation

Werewolves can be born by having one or two werewolf parents. They can also be created by being bitten by a werewolf while in wolf form. The person will become the same tribe as the wolf that bit them. Children’s marking will usually follow basic genetics, but those bitten can develop markings independent of the appearance of the wolf that bit them.

Transformation

Transformations, like in Wolfwalkers, are astral projections. The person does not physically transform, rather their consciousness leaves their body and manifests as a wolf. This most often occurs during sleep, but anything that causes a “disconnect” between mind and body can also cause the transformation. So being knocked unconscious, meditation, or sufficient intense emotion will also do the trick.

Communication

Werewolves in wolf form can still understand spoken language, but they cannot be understood by humans. Werewolves in human form can still understand werewolves in wolf form.

Injury

While transformed, the two forms are still linked. Injuries sustained to either form will transfer to the other. In the same way, so long as one body is being sustained, the other does not have sustain itself. Since the body is technically resting, the wolf does not need sleep, and so long as the wolf hunts, the body does not need food. Hypothetically, werewolves can remain transformed indefinitely. However, there are risks associated with this.

Lost werewolves

In the past, Werewolves were occasionally used in blood sport and hard labor. A massive beast of human intelligence that never needed sleep? It was easy to see why fighting arenas and military generals were eager to capture werewolves and use them for their own gain. Sometimes, they would manage to escape, but they no longer knew where their bodies were. Being separated from their bodies for long periods of time would essentially cause them to go feral. These “lost werewolves” are essentially immortal, the strength and instinct of a wolf combined with a faded but still present human cunning, and no need for sleep. The stigma of werewolves as dangerous is mostly due to the few cases of attacks by lost werewolves. This is what happened to Logan, and also what destroyed Yip’s tribe.

Leaders

No alpha crap in my version, we’re following actual wolf behavior with a leading couple. I don’t necessarily think the tribe is a fully related family unit like wolf packs, bringing new people into the tribes is actually quite common, but most of the tribes definitely follow the idea of “they are our leaders because they take care of us” not for any strength/bloodline reasons.

Now onto the werewolf characters I have so far!

Bodolf and Khira

Leaders of the red wolves. Both have equal authority, though are quite different in their beliefs. Bodolf is more open to working with humans, whereas Khira is less trusting, and unless a human is joining their tribes wants very little to do with humans.

Logan

Turned after an attack by a lost werewolf. Initially struggles with accepting this new part of himself, but becomes more comfortable with support from Donna and Yip. Gains his leader mark after fully accepting his role as Yip’s guardian. His growing family kind of symbolizes the regrowth of a tribe that was almost wiped out.

Yip

Last surviving member of the original brown wolves. Was taken in by Donna and Logan while they searched for his tribe, and more importantly, his body. Eventually Logan and Yip find the ruins of Yip’s tribe, and after an epic showdown with the lost werewolf that turned Logan and attacked Yip’s tribe, are able to bring Yip’s body home.

Leona

Child of Kiki and Zane. Initially human, she was born very weak, and Zoey didn’t have much hope she would survive. Desperate, Kiki took her to the Red Wolves, hoping that turning Leona would give her the strength she needed to make it through. Bodolf was out, so Kiki had to plead to Khira, who has never been fond of her. Khira initially refused, as she had no idea what effects turning a child would have. She also insisted that if she did it, Leona would have to stay with the tribe. Kiki was able to convince her otherwise, and Khira begrudgingly agreed to turn Leona. The turn was successful, and Leona’s health improved, though she has some developmental delays and stunting.

Donna

Le gasp, a significant shift from canon! Not entirely sure if I want her to become a werewolf, but at the same time it would be incredibly cool and give her something else to do in season 2 besides generic mom. If she is turned, it was either an accident by Rollo/Lello, or she intentionally had Logan turn her. She gets her leader mark at this point.

Rollo and Lello

Identical twins, both in human and wolf form. It can be difficult to tell them apart while transformed, though their personality differences make it clear who’s who very quickly. Rollo is energetic and playful, while Lello is more reserved.

Fenrir

Prince of the White Wolves. Unlike the other tribes, during the timeskip his tribe has adopted many human practices. They live in a more traditional kingdom, and have more traditional power structures. For example, Fenrir’s mother has significantly less power than his father, and lacks the leader mark. Fenrir recognizes the problem with his tribe’s new practices, but doesn’t stand up to his father. He is kind, but also cowardly, and when push comes to shove his loyalty stays with his family. Takes the role of leader after his father is killed by Laurance.

Percy- the star saxaphone (for obvious reasons) or guard (because percy spinning a rifle would be HOT)

Annabeth- played everything and ends up dm (the only junior to make dm at her school and literally no one is surprised)

Piper- flute or baritone (also that one band kid who’s an honorary guard member and learns all the tosses)

Jason- the one pit player who’s everyone’s dad (please tell me every school has these)

Leo- sorry but a bass drummer (hey but at least he’s not one of the pervy ones)

Hazel- the sweet heart in trumpet who has to put up with all the other trumpet bs (she doesn’t deserve it)

Frank- tuba because the tall big guys cannot escape tuba no matter how fast they run

The Jaune BS

Hazel: Jaune I know you are upset but I assure you it

Jaune: shit still worked. Would have gone without a hitch if wasn't Blake's somehow abusive and obsessive ex-boyfriend showing up out of nowhere. 

Roman: How did you find her anyways?

Adam: I honestly don't know.

Jaune: Volume 7, I was training and learning to extend my aura. Even though a certain someone suggested it but never showed me how.

Vine: oh… I am so sorry.  

Jaune: That would have been useful in finding Oscar instead of an ability to read emotions.

Pyrrha: Wow Ren character development was very pointless.

Jaune: Exactly. 

Hazel: listen Jaune you're not the only one this show did dirty.

Jaune: Hazel for real.

Adam: You can't be serious right?

Roman: Mother of….

Hazel: What?

James: You died like a fucking hero. Even though you in ledges with the woman who wanted to end the world. Over your sister. 

Hazel: And?

Jaune: You beat up and tortured Oscar. And switch up all because he told you one simple truth. How are you the good guy?

Hazel: I saved him. Plus James tried to blow up millions.

Jaune: That's true. But that's because he went insane.

James: Sleepless nights. Betrayal. And isolation.

Penny: Yeah he was down bad.

Jaune: And don't get started on the fact they keep mixing me and Ruby's characters up too.

Pyrrha: How so?

Jaune: Pyrrha, I had to kill Penny. Before, I didn't save Oscar. Twice. Afterwards, I was alone on an island. By myself. WAITING FOR RUBY. WHILE SEARCHING FOR A WAY HOME! I basically failed to help or save anyone. I failed as a leader. How come my problems seemed more irrelevant to Ruby's. Who never had to kill anyone. Who plans somehow work out in end. While mine somehow BLOW UP IN MY FACE! 

Pyrrha: oh dear… that is horrible.

Jaune: And here's the crazy part. How come Ruby had her friends, a mice and literally a deemed goddess help her while I had nobody but a Jackalope. It took seeing the paper pleasers again for me to accept Penny's death.

Penny: but you had friend Weiss, Blake and Yang by your side. 

James: But they talked bad about him. 

Adam: And true enough they confronted him on the matter they didn't convince him. It basically just took talking with him. 

Jaune: At a bad time no less.

Penny: Yeah that is concerning.

Jaune: And at least Hazel died like a G. We died from stupidity. Well except Roman and Pyrrha.

Penny: Not true.

Roman: Penny your death was crazy. Like you just gave up after everyone's efforts to save you. All because of Ruby. 

Penny: I thought they were dead!

Jaune: yeah, so instead of living to honor her memory you just decided screw everything and let me kill you.

Penny: Yeah that does sound horrible.

Jaune: How were we friends?

Penny: … … I don't know.

Jaune: The only bad thing is I didn't even get my revenge on the cat. All those times hating Alyx met nothing. Then I get shot by one of my friends.

Alyx: Sorry again though.

Jaune: You good, and besides now that I'm gone I don't have to hear fans complain about me anymore. 

Adam: Yeah too bad though.

Jaune: Why? 

Adam: Cause we don't know if you are dead or not.

Jaune: So this is all a dream.

Adam: Maybe. We're just going have to find out. 

Jaune: *sigh* Damn it.

The similarities with Mor & Elain in regards to Azriel

Mor =red & Elain = pink.

Azriel’s shadows

* “Azriel arrived first, no shadows to be seen, my sister a pale, golden mass in his arms. Elain’s golden brown hair snagging in some of the black scales across his chest and shoulders” (pg 253, ACOWAR)

* Elain sucked in a breath that whispered over his skin. His shadows skittered back at the sound. They’d always been prone to vanish when she was around. (Az’s BC)

* “It was almost enough to distract me from noticing Azriel as those shadows lightened, and his gaze slid over Mor’s body” (pg 160, ACOMAF)

* “Mor patted Azriel on the shoulder as she dodged his outstretched wing. The lurking shadows vanished entirely as Azriel’s head dipped a bit.” (Pg 161, ACOMAF)

* “Yes—Azriel, who kept a step away, whose shadows trailed him and seemed to fade in her presence” (pg 239, ACOMAF)

* Azriel choked on what I could have sworn was a laugh, his normally shadowed face lightning up as Mor bustled in, pink with cold and puffing air into her hands. (Pg 100, ACOFAS)

Azriel refusing something on the behalf of them, despite them saying yes.

* Azriel stiffened, an outright sign of temper from him as he said quietly, “there is an innate darkness to the dread trove that Elain should not be exposed to.” (Page 311)

Blood duels

* “That’s an Autumn Court tradition.” The battle to the death was so brutal it was only enacted in rare cases. Despite being an outsider, Azriel had wanted to invoke it when he’d found Mor all those years ago. Had been ready to challenge both Beron and Eris to Blood Duels and kill them both. Only Mor’s right to claim their heads in vengeance had kept him from doing so.” (Azriel’s bonus chapter)

“Oh, I can, and I will. If Lucien finds out you’re pursuing her, he has every right to defend their bond as he sees fit. Including invoking the blood duel.” “Lucien as beron son, has the right to demand it of you.” “I’ll defeat him with little effort.”

Questioning about the mating bond

* “Azriel,” Rhys said, “has been preoccupied with the same female for the past five hundred years.” “Wouldn’t the mating bond have snapped into place for them if it exist?“ Rhys’s eyes shuttered. “I think that is a question Azriel has been asking himself every day since he met Mor.” (Page 259, ACOMAF)

* “The cauldron chose 3 sisters. Tell me how it’s possible that my 2 brothers are with 2 of the sisters, yet the third was given to another.” He had never before dared speak the words aloud. Rhys face drained of color. “You believe you deserve to be her mate?” Azriel scowled. “I think Lucien will never be good enough for her, and she has no interest in him anyway.” “So you’ll what?” Rhys voice was pure ice. “Seduce her away from him?” Azriel said nothing. He hadn’t gotten that far with his planning, certainly not beyond the fantasies he pleasured himself to. (Azriel’s bonus chapter)

Literally everything Azriel is doing with Elain, he has already done with Mor. It’s nothing new. Azriel questioning about why elain isn’t his mate is not no foreshadowing for them being one true mates or no BS like that because he’s done the same thing with Mor.

We can also see opposite things with mor and Azriel & Elain and Azriel. Azriel decided to avoid Elain but he was quick to agree to be around Mor. He was giving Mor such heated looks that even Feyre, as an outsider in acomaf can see and point out. And Mor was with several lovers. But Azriel, who has sexual feelings for Elain doesn’t even give her the same heated looks when they are with others and he was looking at elain with pity in ACOFAS and no one in this series likes to be pitied. He went out of his way to be closer to Mor, especially in acomaf as much as he can but has done the exact opposite with Elain in acosf.

It’s crazy how people ship Azriel and elain after Feyre said, “And I think Elain—Elain would like it too. Though she’d probably cling to Azriel, just to have some peace and quiet.” I smiled at the thought, how handsome they would be together.” But then she proceeded to say this right after “if the warrior ever stopped quietly loving Mor. I doubted it. Azriel would likely love Mor until he was a whisper of darkness between the stars. (Page 487, ACOMAF). There was no build up in acomaf of Elriel because it got shot right back down due to Mor. You would think elriels would hate Mor more than Gwyn.

And I’m suppose to think that Elain will be ok with Azriel’s behavior, his cruelty, his icy rage, his violence, when Mor who is a warrior herself, who knows violence gets scared of Azriel behavior.

* “Mor gets spooked. And what Az did today scare the shit out of her.” “The violence?” “The violence as a result of what he feels, lingering guilt over the deal with Eris—and what neither of them will face.” (Page 460, ACOWAR)

This is after the high lords meeting.

Such terrible things that it was sacrilege for his fingers to touch her skin, tainting her with his presence. (Azriel’s bonus chapter)

Azriel knew that Elain only looked at him with trust because she doesn’t know what Azriel really does and who Azriel really is. We know that cruelty & the hewn city bothers Elain and Azriel is the embodiment of cruelty & the hewn city since that’s where he takes his victims and tortures them.

How people don’t see that Elain and Azriel is not a good fit is beyond me.

Yknow there’s no point of diversity in the riordanverse if the characters just look white/“special”. Give hazel dark skin, give Reyna dark skin, give Alex dark skin, give piper dark skin. Give them brown/black eyes, don’t discard traits people of character have in the pursuit of making them look “unique”. Give hazel curly hair. Give them actual ethnic facial features. Use their proper names, no “Arellano” bs. Make Sadie actually look biracial (yes, I promise you can give her curly hair and still have her white pass). Recognize the racial diversity in the series or just admit you’re racist.
