When I started shipping them:

Definitely their team-up scene vs Female Titan/Annie. When i saw not only how strong & skilled they were on their own but how well they worked together to accomplish their goal despite having grievances with each other? I knew they would be unstoppable and at that point my ovaries didnt stand a chance the ship launched at lightspeed for me.

My thoughts:

As i allude to above, there's nothing i love more than a couple that makes a great TEAM above all else. Mutual respect and teamwork makes the slutty dream work amirite??? Plus that added tension of enemies to lovers/i hate but begrudgingly respect them makes it that much more exquisite- i just feel this dynamic can only lead to an even deeper bond that is so RIPE for smutty exploration ;D

What makes me happy about them:

What makes me sad about them:

That Mikasa's character development was basically thrown in the trash by the end- especially from a female perspective. All these indications that she finally outgrew her blind devotion to a man/her character didn't solely revolve around a man were ultimately meaningless and its a crying shame. Upon reflection, i had such an averse reaction to this treatment of her character i found it difficult to be active in the fandom (beyond the occasional anti snk ending shitpost) so yeah....THANKS ISAYAMA

And Levi's ending? Well at least his character overall was left unscathed, but damn where he ended up felt cold as ice- like, why of all ppl would he ended up with the Marley kids & Onyakonpon??? Why not with the ppl who, i dont know, he risked his life to save time and time again, that he's known from years and from the same place as he's from???

Terminator: Dark Fate

I have no idea how TSCC came up with two seasons’ worth of innovative scenarios about Terminators and these cinematic universe motherfuckers can only redo T2 with more CGI.

This movie is plotless. It has no real plot. It’s like Now That’s What I Call A Terminator Movie! There are so many callbacks and borrowings from all the other Terminator movies that it passes the point of homage and just becomes plagiarism. The bad Terminator is the same as the T-X, metal endoskeleton with a T-1000 shell. They kill him with a Terminator power core. They say Come With Me If You Want To Live and I’ll Be Back (twice! It’s the first thing Sarah Connor says and it makes no sense in context, it’s just something people say in Terminator movies). In fact, it has anti-plot, since it undoes a lot of the story developments in Terminator and T2.

The premise is basically just we’re going to remake Terminator 1, but people don’t like reboots, so we’re going to bring back Linda Hamilton and make it a technically kinda sorta sequel (sure, Skynet was wiped from existence, but another, completely different, yet exactly the same AI called Legion was created and did the exact same thing. Which also happened in T3, but they had the decency to still call it Skynet). But otherwise, it’s entirely people being chased by an evil robot from the future and trying to destroy it. 

That’s it. That’s all there is to it. T2 had the whole thing about preventing Judgment Day before it happened. T3 had Judgment Day actually happen. This one, nothing. There is nothing going on under the surface other than a bunch of action sequences and explosions. Even T3 got some mileage out of the idea that Judgment Day was inevitable. Here, our cast learns that Judgment Day was already ‘averted’ once slash that it’s destined to be repeated and they basically go “Eh. Figures.” I’m not kidding.

Wait, that’s not fair. Let’s count out the TWEEESTS.

1. In a very contrived way, the script waits an hour and a half to actually explain why heroine Dani has been targeted for termination--you know, the thing Kyle Reese explained to Sarah Connor the moment they were out of danger--all to set up this big ‘reveal’ that Dani isn’t the NuSarah, she’s the NuJohn (yes, they actually say this aloud, just so you soup sandwich motherfuckers in the audience get it). Hear that, neckbeards, John Connor is now a woman! And Mexican! And she’s got a bit of a gay vibe, because it’s 2019 and God forbid we have a heroine that isn’t a bit bicurious. If she has a cock and balls, my bingo card will be a winner.

2. Months after killing John Connor and thus completing his mission, an Arnold-model Terminator started a family (wow, that was quick) and learned the value of human life and eventually switched sides. This is a crazy new idea that also happened in Terminator: Genebissss, so it’s done and dusted in ten minutes, even though Arnold is the most engaging character. (He’s saddled with a lot of yuk lines about how he’s a comically serious Terminator, yet (teehee) works as an interior decorator, but at least he has a personality.)

3. The other good Terminator is Grace, who needs meds to keep up her cyborg strength or she’ll crash (this never affects the plot) (it’s like they read something about Rey Palpatine having no flaws and so they decided to give Grace the ‘flaw’ of literally having her own Kryptonite). She’s not a Terminator, she’s an augmented human, which means she can make MCU-style wisecracks every five minutes. (”I didn’t hear anything.” “That’s because you’re not a cybernetic super soldier from the future.” Actual dialogue.)

4. Linda Hamilton is back, baby! Yes, that’s right, they dragged her away from doing guest spots on Lost Girl! Can you believe???? She’s become a Terminator hunter that ambushes Terminators as they come back from the future and destroys them, because Skynet was both able to send back an infinite number of Terminators AND because now they can easily be destroyed by one five-hundred-year-old woman. 

This makes it a bit confusing why they have so much trouble taking out Ghost Rider, given that he’s a T-1000 skin with a creamy T-800 center. It seems like if you hammer him enough, he’s got no endoskeleton, and that’s all she wrote. That’s what happened to the T-X. Can his liquid metal skin just walk around without the other half of him? If so, what’s the point of the endoskeleton? The T-1000 managed without it and that seemed a lot harder to kill. At one point, Sarah hits the bare endoskeleton with a bazooka, which seems like it should’ve been a mortal blow, but it’s the first act, so I guess not.

And is it supposed to be funny that the opening takes place in a car factory where (in 2019!) the human workers are losing their assembly line jobs to machines? Because they’re all Mexicans? None of them ever look at a Terminator and go THEY TOOK OUR JOBS, but man, that one is all teed up for the Rifftrax boys.

For a movie with, as I said, no plot, it’s very rushed. They seem to be saying “yeah, it’s a dumb Terminator movie, you know the score,” (even tho it’s halfway aimed at people who aren’t Terminator fans; more on that in a minute) because it seems to take all of ten minutes for both good guys and bad guys to find Dani and start getting into CGI stunt double fights, which means the story has very little time to breathe and we have very little time to get to know any of the characters. The bad guy spawns practically at Dani’s front door! And pretty much does everything by massacring a bunch of people and then hacking a computer. The T-1000 had some intelligence, some charisma. This guy’s a big nothing.

And the Dani character is useless. She starts the story already super assertive, is barely traumatized at all by her loved ones being killed and her own life being endangered. There’s none of that relatable feel of an everyman suddenly being told they have a grand destiny and an incredible responsibility, because right from the start she’s standing up to her mean boss and doing the Nevertheless She Persisted thing. And all this while being literally five feet tall and looking all of twelve years old. 

I love these Spy Kids movies.

And at least the original two movies were smart enough to leave the future John Connor mostly to the imagination. This one actually shows us Dani as grizzled military badass, beating up guys and delivering inspiring speeches (would it surprise you to know that humans fighting among each other “is exactly what Legion wants”?), and it’s just--oh man. If ever a political leader is enough to make people think back to the good old days of Trump and Biden...

And if we’re going to talk shit (rightfully) about Jai Courtney’s Kyle Reese not being at all scruffy or traumatized or feral, it should be noted that Grace seems pretty well-adjusted for a post-apocalyptic guerrilla fighter (who all wear Starship Trooper uniforms). Aside from a tendency to smash the face in of everyone she comes across, whether they’ve done anything to deserve it or not (Sample dialogue, to a doctor who is looking at her X-rays after performing life-saving surgery on her: “Did I give you permission to look at my private parts?” SMASH. No, really!)

They really go all in on this cringey, woke af “You’re not the mother of some MAN, Dani. YOU ARE THE FUTURE!” And yet, there’s a hilarious amount of toxic masculinity in this movie, just without the dongs. About every other line Sarah and Grace have is generic tough guy bullshit about how they’re going to kick someone’s ass, how they’re suspicious of someone, how they’re hostile towards someone. If they had dongs, you would think they were the smallest dongs possible, because they are compensating for something, BIG TIME. Between the T-800 and Sarah and Grace, everyone in this movie seems to outright hate each other, to the point that Arnold’s killer cyborg is one of the more pleasant characters. It gets to where you just want someone to order a fucking decaf. Does the fact that Sarah Connor has a vagina keep it from being ridiculously over the top how she spends all her time either blowing up robots or drinking herself into a stupor? C’mon. You can’t complain about male characters having ‘man-pain’ then give Bad Grandma a pass over her ovaries.

And that’s it. It’s a Brundlefly shit between yet another dumb girlpower reboot for the people who’ve never seen a Terminator movie and a sequel with Sarah and Uncle Bob to try and get that last drop of blood outta this stone. They’re trying to make something that appeals to both people for whom this is their first Terminator and people for whom this is their latest Terminator and it just doesn’t work. The newbies don’t have any emotional investment in these characters and the Terminator fans don’t like it that all the old movies were rendered meaningless to prop up Grace and Dani.

Hilariously enough, I actually played Terminator: Resistance recently, which is a fun little mid-tier shooter that was meant to tie in to this movie... and it completely ignores all the Dani/Grace/Legion BS to take place in John Connor’s future war and tie in to the first two movies. That’s how forgettable this movie is. Its own damn video game adaptation pretends it doesn’t exist. Fuuuck.

Oh! Oh! Oh! And in that big, bad, sexist original Terminator, which was so unwoke and problematic, Sarah saved herself and finished off the Terminator herself. Here, Dani has to be saved by Arnold at the climax. The 35-year-old movie is more feminist than this one. Fuck you very much.

Quintin’s hugs are very soft and fluffy, like, really soft and light– though they’re often quick most of the time due to him almost always on his feet and dashing around here and there, though he doesn’t miss a single beat in giving his S/O a hug when he sees them. He’s also, a tiny bit, awkward in giving hugs too, but it’s mostly from his embarrassment and actually being affection-starved but doesn’t have the courage (unless he’s on wits/his patience’s end) to initiate it. But his S/O can rest assured that Quin will, 100% guaranteed, drop and risk everything and run to their side and give them a fluffy, warm, and gentle hug whenever they need it most.

Seisear’s hugs are very much lively, sporadic, and above all else, very affectionate; he will always, ALWAYS try to hug his S/O anytime and anyplace, unless of course, they’re not comfortable with it at that specific situation in which case he’ll respectfully save it for after it is over. He’s the type of guy who loves his S/O so much that he can’t help becoming so giddy around them that he just ends up hugging them before proceeding to spin with them in his embrace… before playfully tumbling over onto his back, with them landing on top of him since he doesn’t want them to get hurt at all, even if it’s just a tiny scratch.

Lala’s hugs are very much energetic, playful, and spontaneous, with oftentimes ending up just a bit too forceful or “heavy” due to the suddenness or the amount of strength she puts into the hugs. Even with an S/O, she hasn’t lost her habit of tackling at people in the slightest, in fact, it got doubled down towards them! Lala always likes to charge and jump at them in an attempt of her own version of a hug, since it would be too boring to just walk up to them and just, hug them, like that (her words, not mine). It’s all also because she just likes them that much that her body moves faster than her mind could and she makes quick decisions based on impulse and desire.

Types of hugs she does: Bear hug, catcher/catching hug, ragdoll hug

Ophiou’s hugs are tight, like, almost COILING like a serpent’s… though it mostly comes from a place of fear and hope; hope that this isn’t some stupid make-believe fairytale or some idiotic and hopeless mirage that his mind conjured up, since, after all, something like him doesn’t deserve anything as beautiful as this. He almost always exclusively hugs from behind or any position that allows him to not LOOK at his S/O for two reasons: one, he’s worried that his [cursed eyes] might accidentally turn them into stone(and it IS possible to reverse it, but extremely painful for him), and two, he’s actually really shy about receiving and giving affection despite his seemingly no-caring attitude. His S/O can feel either warm or cold depending on which environment Ophi has been to earlier since his skin/body temperature acts much like a snake’s.

Types of hugs he does: Tight hug, back hug, long/quick hug 

Cirnu’s hugs are tender, nurturing, and… “enveloping”, in a sense. By that I mean, imagine if you will, the touch of the evening sky and the shadows– but instead of it being cold, empty, and dreadful, it’s “protective, mystical, and eternal”. Despite her slightly affectionate nature towards everyone, hugs with her S/O are quite uncommon in public and Cirnu only reserves such tender and heartfelt moments between the two of them in private spaces, since she believes that something genuine and sincere shouldn’t always be put in broad daylight or be up-front-and-center and that it’s best to savor the moment together by themselves; though she isn’t against to giving them a short hug in public if her S/O asks for it or she sees that they really need it. 

Types of hugs she does: Slow dance hug, strong hug, “hug that lasts”

Berebis’ hugs are really REALLY COZY, with the bonus addition of smelling and feeling really nice– like, so cozy that it’s not too hard to find yourself steadily dozing off in his arms…. which he takes perfect advantage of in regards to hugging his S/O, with them more often than not ending up as his makeshift pillow. Bel may not look like it, or even ACT like it, but he DOES GENUINELY hold affection for and care about his S/O, though because he’s been the way that he is for quite a long time now, this is one of the only ways in which he can express his feelings for them on a deeper level than simple lip-service and words ever could; after all, he’s more of an “actions mean more than words” type of guy.

Fuyume’s hugs are, quite literally, cold. Like, literally ice cold. This is why she always questions the idea of physical intimacy, especially in regards if someone wants to hug her or hold her hand; and when it comes to her S/O, she’s a lot more unsure about going through with it, since it wouldn’t be practical of them to hug her/vice-versa due to this little snowflake of a fact… but it happens either way, either from her S/O’s persistence or her curiosity as to how a hug actually feels like since she’s never received it once in her entire life(discounting the hug Amelie gave her in that one ask, teehee). As said, her hugs are cold, awkward, and a bit clumsy, but she tries her hardest; she also prefers to make eye contact with her S/O since she, much like Cirnu, Bel, and Hoku, believes that [the eyes are the window to the soul], and it would mean laying everything “bare” for the other to see each other’s true feelings.

I'd rather him screaming at me to the point of losing his voice than dead silence. Archie stood up and the group went silent. He's going to hit me. Great. Archie walked towards me as I got ready to defend myself further. Instead he turned and ran up the stairs. The group went back to strong disapproving. Y/N pov Archie came bursting into the room as I mid conversation with dad. “Dad, I need to talk to yn” both I and dad were couldn't hide our shock at this. Dad nodded cautiously before leaving. I looked at Archie and instantly felt my body tense. “So you and jughead...” his tone was annoyed but not necessarily angry. I can't believe he told them. Oh I'm going to kill him for putting me in this situation. I nodded slightly. “Why didn't you tell me?” I looked down at the floor. I'm usually outspoken and well able to stand my ground but my voice has been stolen. I shrugged my shoulders. “Look yn I know we've never exactly been close...and I haven't really been a good support network for you and..”. My head snapped up at this. Where did he get that from? I've only ever said that to Jug. “...but I want us to be better together, I've seen the change in you and like it” “So you only like me when I'm changing” this caught him off guard. “No no yn it's just I don't really think you're right for Jughead...you're not really what he needs” Archie was grinding against my nerves. This is exactly what I was afraid of and this is exactly why I didn't want to tell him. I stood up and stormed down the stairs. I walked into the sitting room and all eyes landed on me. I glared at Jughead before taking off out the door. He tried to follow me to my car but I was too quick and sped off to the Southside. Jughead POV I'm an idiot I'm an idiot I'm an idiot. Why didn't I listen to yn. I ran back into the house and took Archie's keys from the hook. “Wait jughead!” Archie came running down the stairs. “What?!” I snapped. “I'm coming with you” “No you're not” “Yes Jughead. Yes I am, I'm her brother and it's time to start acting like one”. Reluctantly I nodded my head. “Fine, I hate driving that Jeep anyway” I tossed him the keys and we ran out of the house leaving our friends sitting shocked. I directed Archie to where the Jrs hung out. It was anything but glamorous. “Wow I can't believe y/n would rather be here than at home…” Archie locked the car doors. “Yeah well to her it's less hostile than her home”. I could see guilt spreading across Archies face. Good. We finally pulled up outside an old firehouse. “Do as I say Archie, don't look at anyone, come off confident...not cocky” we jumped out and walked in. It has been forever and a day since I was here. People looked at me firstly ready to attack but then in shock.  Yup, I'm back bitches. Before we could continue looking for her, a small group cut in front of us. “Jughead Jones, the prodigal son returns” she practically growls. “Hello Carla, long time no see, thankfully” she makes my blood boil. She had a scar on her jaw that I knew yn had gifted her, that's my girl. She pursed her lips at this comment. “What do you want” she bit. “Looking for the leader” yup I'm going to kick her in the teeth with that. “I am her” the girls behind her exchanged glances and tried not to laugh. “I don't think so, where's yn” torturing Carla was so fun and too easy. She pursed her lips again and nodded behind her to where y/n was sitting with some of the the other jr. lads. Ugh, the way they were drooling over her was making my stomach turn. We stepped to move but Carla put her hand to Archie's chest stopping him. “You're new, I like new meat” she growled and I could see archie shift on the spot. While I must admit it was great watching Archie squirm under the power of a girl this is not why we're here. “Leave him alone Carla” “I don't answer to you” she shoved me before catching Archie my the collar. “No, but you answer to me” yns voice came from behind me as she stepped past me, brushing my shoulder. Carla turned and jostled Archie back before turning and squaring up to yn. I know this is a tense situation but damn yn looks so hot. Carla ran her tongue across her teeth while yn didn't break her gaze. YN tilted her head to the side, challenging Carla. “Leave him alone” yn said through gritted teeth. “And if I don't?” “I think we both know what will happen and we both know how it will end. Stand.down.” this is really hot but I know this could get ugly really really quickly. Carla swung for yns face but she caught her fist before it met her face. YN twisted Carla's arm so it was behind her back. Yn took her car key from her pockets and put it to Carlas throat. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and archie had turned snow white, everyone else watched on as it was the usual... probably was. “I'm sorry? Were you going say something?” Yn dripped with anger and sarcasm as she pushed the car key closer into Carlas skin. Carla didn't say anything. “Thought so” yn left go of Carla with a shove. Carla turned to say something and yn raised an eyebrow, using better judgement she sulked off, her cronies following in close. “What's everyone looking at!” She practically shouted and everyone immediately went back to what they were doing. She led us into a small office at the back of the building. She threw herself down on the chair and swung her up on the desk. “Are you like a mob boss or something?” Archie cautiously sat down in the seat across from her, I stayed leaning against the door. “So umm yn I..I...I just want to apologise for not being... exactly nice to you or a good brother and I want to fix that yn i really do…” “Okay” “Okay?” “Yeah” “Emm okay okay I'll eh let you take Jughead home? I think he wants to have a look around” Archie practically ran out of the place. Cheers mate. I walked towards her and cupped her face in my hands. “Yn I love you “ the words just let slip and once they were out I couldn't take them back. every time i see someone (especially a particular guy i really should block at some point) bashing alan for being a creator's pet and immune to loss i twitch out of repressed disdain. did they even watch tsme. ash's role was literally to act as an accessory to alan's story. the league and the flare fallout was his climax, not ash's. did they. not see alan fall and fail so many times before this. HE'S STRUGGLED SO HARD FOR THIS? HE HAS ACTUAL STAKES IN THIS VICTORY? he is literally not tobias 2.0

Fam, I block Alan haters on sight and it makes my life 900% better. I mean, to be fair this means I have to block a lot of people (and considering I block people for other reasons as well I’m sure I have a couple thousand on my block list by now), and to be even more fair it might be “more mature” to actually engage them and verbally dropkick people in the face, but as I explained on another post I’ve done that so much that I’m just … really very tired. So yes, I really do encourage you to just block that trashbiscuit you mentioned. Someone like that is not someone worth sharing internet space with. People like that aren’t deserving of attention, honestly.

But all of that said? While I do block people after I see the garbage they spew, I still have to see the garbage in the first place in order to block them. And yes, it makes me so very, very, very angry.

I think that a lot of people in this fandom haven’t watched The Strongest Mega Evolution, or if they did they still somehow didn’t pay very much attention to Alan in it despite the fact that it’s his story (and was specifically created to be his story, as in, they didn’t create TSME to advertise anything, they specifically created it in order to tell his story because they knew they wouldn’t have room / time to do so in the main series). Therefore, they not only miss the times when he did face losses (e.g. against Siebold in TSME 1, against Mega Rayquaza in TSME 2, against Primal Groundon and Primal Kyogre in TSME 3), but they also missed everything about how much honest-to-god work he put into training, about how he and Lizardon dedicated their time to becoming stronger in every way possible in order to protect their loved ones, about how Alan underwent the mega evolution gauntlet as a form of training (as well as emotional reassurance) after he went through a traumatic incident that nearly cost him and Lizardon their lives. Alan didn’t undergo the mega evolution gauntlet because he wanted accolades or a medal; he underwent the mega evolution gauntlet because he was terrified that he and Lizardon* were not strong enough to protect others, because he and Lizardon both almost died out there on the ice. He wanted to reassure himself that he and Lizardon were strong enough to protect those they cared about, by specifically undergoing trials and battles to amass that strength. The bulk of TSME 4 was Alan specifically training, and doing so in a big way. It’s not as if the Key Stone and Charizardite X were “press A to win” buttons. Far from it. They worked for years to become as strong as they are. Blood and sweat went into their training, and that training paid off, even with the canonical losses they do have under their belts.

(*Alan never actually says that he’s concerned about Lizardon’s strength. Whenever he talks about being strong enough (or not being strong enough), the only one he ever calls out is himself. Whenever he talks about Lizardon, he instead talks about the strength of their bond, and how much he believes in Lizardon. So although I say that he’s concerned that he and Lizardon aren’t strong enough, I only say that because he was training Lizardon. In truth, Alan never once even remotely suggests that Lizardon is weak. The only one Alan sees and calls weak is himself. He only ever sees strength and reason to believe in Lizardon, and that’s canonical fact.)

On top of missing all of that, people miss and/or ignore everything else about Alan, too. They miss and ignore his backstory. They miss and ignore all aspects of his characterization. They pretend as though he has no personality, no drive, no feelings, and no characterization when that could not be farther from the truth. I could go on for paragraphs about things you can pick up from and read off Alan from the first ten minutes of TSME 1 alone. There is so much to dissect and study about his character, there is so much there, and yet people ignore it all in favor of looking for reasons to bash and tear him apart. Sometimes they even do this by downplaying or completely erasing the abuse he has suffered at Lysandre’s hands so that they can have an excuse to dismiss or criticize him. It’s disgusting and completely infuriating.

But back to the actual point—yes, exactly. The Flare arc was—and this really can’t be argued—the conclusion to The Strongest Mega Evolution. Without TSME, the Flare arc would not have occurred (or at least, it wouldn’t have made any sense, so I really just do not undersatnd the people who skipped TSME entirely, but whatever). And Alan was the central protagonist. As I’ve mentioned before, the writers did try to shoehorn more plot-centric significance for Ash in there by making up Lysandre’s interest in him in a really clumsy, ham-fisted way, but it’s as you said: Ash was really there to provide crucial emotional support for Alan. I won’t gush about their relationship again here because it’s not the point, but as we all saw on Prism Tower, Ash was the one who gave Alan the support he needed to temporarily shelve his issues to focus on the matter at hand. And later, Ash once again helped Alan by speaking to him in the garden at the lab (and being the only human to follow him out there—the only one who noticed what he was going through and approached him!), and their resulting conversation sounded so much like Ash was talking Alan down from suicide (or at least self-harm, something Ash had already witnessed Alan doing to himself atop the tower, so he really did have reason to be worried, even aside from the honestly alarming things Alan was saying right there in the garden). Ash was not the protagonist of this story—Alan was. And as much as their League match was their two stories intersecting (Ash chasing accolades and glory as always, Alan wanting both to feel actual happiness for five minutes and wanting to once again reassure himself that he had the strength necessary to protect those he cared for), Alan’s motivations for winning the League match were far more worthy than Ash’s. Ash just wanted personal glory and a trophy, as always. Alan wanted strength to protect others. Pokémon is a shounen anime. If you take out any and all personal biases and look at just their motivations and the genre they’re in, it’s blatantly obvious who will win, and who should win, based purely on that criteria alone.

(And that’s not even getting into how much more training and experience Alan has put in over Ash, or how blatantly outmatched Greninja was in comparison to Lizardon. The only one protected by plot armor in that match was Greninja, who should have experienced a sound OHKO the first time Lizardon used Thunder Punch against him. I’ve run the stats with battle damage calculators every which way, and the result is always the same: Lizardon OHKOs Greninja with Thunder Punch. But because Ash is the main character (kind of), Greninja instead got to pull out some anime-exclusive BS and block Thunder Punch with Water Shuriken (?!) to stay in the match longer. So even setting aside the fact that Alan’s motivations for that battle were far more admirable and worthy than Ash’s, Greninja was outclassed in a major way and only stayed in the fight as long as he did thanks to plot armor. Saying otherwise is ignoring basic facts. Alan won that battle because he and Lizardon deserved to win that battle, from every single conceivable angle. That’s all there is to it.)

So yeah, the way this fandom continues to treat Alan is beyond ridiculous (and comparing him to Tobias is so nonsensical that I just—Tobias didn’t even have a story, he had no backstory, he was never seen before the League, he had no characterization whatsoever, and he cheesed his way through his battles with legendaries, there’s literally just no logical comparison here). It’s especially ridiculous when people call him a Creator’s Pet / Stu, when (as I pointed out in the tags that I’m pretty sure prompted this), if anyone checks those boxes at this point, it would be Ash, to the point where the writers are now trying to be all “look how clever we are by pointing out Ash’s special specialness, teehee!” as a way to excuse the fact that they’re not having him earn things like his Z-Ring and connections with Ultra Beasts and legendaries, they’re just dropping those things in his lap and calling it a day. Sorry, but lampshading it doesn’t change what you’re doing. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s blatantly obvious that Ash has special Main Character privileges, however much you want it to. 

(And no, I’m not hating on Ash for this, I still love Ash to pieces! I’m just saying, it infuriates me when people call Alan a Creator’s Pet for working himself to the bone, sweating and bleeding, for everything he has and suffering for it practically every step of the way, while at the same time being thrilled when Ash literally has Z-Rings, Ultra Beasts, legendaries, et cetera dropped right into his lap without having to work for any of it. Yeah, Lysandre gave Alan his Key Stone and Charizardite X (just as Steven Stone gave Shouta his Key Stone and Sceptilite, hmm), but in exchange Alan had to give up his freedom and isolate himself from the only family he had, something he only agreed to because Lysandre made him think it was the only way to protect said family. Ash? Ash gets a Z-Ring from Tapu Koko because … uh, because he’s the main character. And aside from learning the Z-Move dance and maybe practicing a little, there are no strings attached to this, no consequences. He just gets it because he’s special and masters it in no time at all. And people think Alan is the Creator’s Pet? Is this a joke??)

So yeah, I just … I get really beyond frustrated and angry at the way this fandom treats Alan, and I block people who treat him this way on sight. No regrets. I really recommend anyone who likes Alan do the same, tbh.

A late night call from the police station isn't anything unfamiliar to Mike, if anything it's a blast from the past. He knows how to deal with this, has had plenty of practice with his other brother in years gone by - but instead of seeing Axl’s lanky form leaning against the wall like he had been expecting— there’s a teenager with tufty blonde hair that’s frowning at him in confusion. The kid looks haggard and exhausted, but so familiar, and he’s dressed in an oversized suit.

Mike feels all the air leave his lungs as he stares at the boy, feeling a sick feeling begin to manifest deep in his stomach. Because this just isn’t possible, but yet somehow there’s that grin on the teenager’s face, and there’s no way that it can be anyone but—

“Anders?”

(It’s a De-Aged!Anders fic! Angst, angst and more angst! Pretty good but the ending is kinda up for interpretations.)

(I really like the ending for this one cause Anders finally gives the “Fuck You” to his assholes of a family that he has always deserved. Though a part of me wishes they suffered more... hmm.)

(This fic is insanely long but it sucks you in. I swear. I spent an hour straight reading this and I skimmed through some of the paragraphs - cause I was trying to remember my past review on this one. The pacing is good, the characterizations are wonderful - I really love Ty in this one and the concept incredibly interesting. If you’re looking for a slightly long read, this is the one.)
