-i'll start off with Thorton for you, i admittedly took a bit to think of one for him but i my brain associates him with steel and electric types due to his technology theming so i could possibly see Lanturn being fitting?

now to pick out some of my favorite characters because i have SO many characters in this franchise im obsessed with

- i've already done Milotic Wallace of course haha

-Grimsley is very easy for me i've had the idea of him as some sort of Sharpedo merman in my head for AGES now definitely influenced by the mega Sharpedo that's paired with his synga suit

-Giacomo i would probably assign as a Carvanha personally as i headcanon him as Grimsley's nephew and i think it's fitting for him as well

-Burgh there's not a lot of water/bug pokémon for me to pick from with him so i'm inclined to make him a Bruxish for its color palette as i think it'd fit his outgoing personality and job as an artist

-Morty uses a Jellicent in one of his world tournament battles in B2W2 and i definitely think he could fit the deep sea jellyfish vibe

-Eusine i'm mostly going on vibes but i could possibly see him as a Gorebyss perhaps? i'm really not sure (the primary water type he's associated with isn't a fish pokemon unfortunately) but given his dialogue about the how beautiful and graceful Suicune is i could see him as a water type with some elegance with it.

-Silver i would say a Gyarados would be appropriate, both because he has one in the manga but also because of his connection to Lance and the shiny Gyarados in the Lake of Rage

Considering Psychic is your favorite type here’s a sad fact: int he anime the only main character to have ever owned a psychic type are Ash, Misty and Team Rocket and none of them are very battle proficient

Misty’s Starmie never won an offical battle and wa s only her party for about 60 episodes

Goh’s Drowzre and Bruxish have only been in one episode a piece

And we didn’t even know for sure if Ash owned Mimey until Journeys and he got dropped off pretty quick

Mimey is Delia’s Pokémon, Ash was just borrowing it so yeah, Ash has never had a psychic Pokémon of his own

The Pokemon he’d be drawn to are those who are misunderstood, fierce, or brave despite not being that strong. In Scraggy’s case, he likes how reckless and headstrong it is. Little attack-first ask-questions-never guy.... super relatable for Atros lmao.

Dimitra has lived a life full of different kinds of extensive training, and the Pokemon she’s drawn to reflect that. As such, her team is composed of very high-maintenance Pokemon; Tyrogue requires intensive daily training, and Bewear needs to be carefully trained to avoid hurting her and others by accident. Most of her Psychic-type Pokemon are also powerhouses, Munna being the most laid-back and calm Pokemon she’d have, and it’s more of a companion than an active member of her team.

and now for me.... yeah I love Grass types! and Bug types! and Ghost! and and and- lmao.

while I tend to play with different types in each game, those are my favs for sure. also I'm a simple guy who loves cute pkmn lmao. some of my favs:

This is Jade's team in my TWST x Pokémon crossover. Gorebyss is his main partner. He, like the rest of Octavinelle uses Dive Balls. 

Gorebyss's Moves: Coil, Safeguard, Draining Kiss, Psychic and Ice Beam. Her Ability is Swift Swim. Jade found Gorebyss as a Clamperl, along with Floyd's Clamperl. She evolved thanks to a Trade Machine built by Ignihyde.

Parasect's Moves: Aromatherapy, Spore, Cross Poison, Fell Stringer and Energy Ball. His Ability is Effect Spore. Jade found Parasect as a Paras while hiking, along with his Foongus and Morelull. He evolved during Beans Day.

Foongus's Moves: Sludge Bomb, Spore, Toxic, Pollen Puff and Magical Leaf. His Ability is Effect Spore. Jade found Foongus while hiking, along with his Para and Morelull.

Morelull's Moves: Moonlight, Moonblast, Strength Sap, Pollen Puff and Mega Drain. Her Ability is Effect Spore. Jade found Morelull while hiking, along with his Foongus and Paras.

Bruxish's Moves: Wave Crush, Psychic Fangs, Screech, Calm Mind and Ice Beam. His Ability is Dazzling. Jade caught Bruxish when revisiting the Coral Sea.

Nacli's Moves: Smack Down, Iron Defense, Recover, Headbutt and Power Gem. Her Ability is Purifying Salt. Jade met Nacli during a Mountain Lovers Club meeting. Despite her not being a Grass-type, Jade catches her because she's mushroom-shaped and her ability with salt.

Okay!! I finally wrote out some hcs for the mer AU for Colress and Faba—

-Both Faba and Colress are royalty (princes) but of different kingdoms.

-Colress’ kingdom lives in deeper, darker and more open water and therefore mer living there dress more defensively than Faba’s clan does, putting practicality above aesthetics. They’re used to being on the look out for and wrestling with larger predators such as Gyarados. Colress has the ability to discharge electricity from his tail and uses it to defend against these predators as well as aid in his inventions. Lantern’s electricity also helps with this- and lights up the dark. Speaking of! Colress has some bio luminescence markings on his tail which constantly emit a soft glow.

-Meanwhile Faba’s kingdom lives in warmer, shallower water— they’re more used to the sun and less used to dealing with predators, so dress to impress with little armour. If any Pokémon become aggressive, Faba has poisonous spines which come in useful to either get them to back off or kill them outright. Against the large predators that live around Colress’ kingdom however, his spines are close to useless. It takes time and a very harsh lesson for his ego to realise this, however. (Bro gets nibbled)

-There are a few other kingdoms dotted around nearby as well… but to be honest I haven’t given them much thought. Maybe Team Skull could be hanging around somewhere in the depths— although they’d be less of a kingdom and more of a band of bandits or something. At least, they definitely wouldn’t be living in palaces lol. More like… a cave.

-In this au Pokémon aren’t kept in Pokéballs, and just sort of… live with their trainers, coming and going as they please. Faba has a few companions: Bruxish, Starmie, Seadra and occasionally Primarina. Colress has Lanturn, Relicanth, Lumineon, and occasionally Empoleon. Empoleon in the mer universe are among the most highly revered Pokémon, and when he discovers Colress’ family has earned the favour of one, Faba is soooo jealous.

-Relations between Elios (Faba’s kingdom) and Achromas (Colress’ kingdom) are tense. A marriage is arranged between the two of them to avoid war, strengthen trade routes, and generally keep the peace.

-Faba appreciates Colress’ respectfulness towards him, but on their wedding night makes it very clear their marriage is in name alone and he has no intention of taking Colress as a mate. Colress is just mildly amused by this strange little man and how defensive he is even though Colress hasn’t made any moves on him, but respects Faba’s wishes for space. All the space in the world can’t save Faba from Colress’ relentless curiosity and endless questions about him and life in shallower water though. They end up agreeing to allow one another three questions a night, for the sake of Faba’s sanity.

-Faba refuses to share a nest. They have to travel between their two kingdoms fairly regularly to fulfil their duties, but always build and sleep in separate nests no matter whose palace they’re staying in. Faba prefers a soft bed of sea grass, and Colress, being more accustomed to the scarce plant life of the depths, prefers sand with perhaps a tiny bit of sea grass to soften the texture. Also, living in an area with so many predators he tends to build the walls of his nest quite high, and constructs a little alcove for himself to make for a more concealing resting place. Not that he needs to- he’s in a well-guarded palace- but instinct, y’ know?

-Colress’ species are hermaphrodites (can either carry or help another conceive young— I rlly hope I got that title right lol), so there isn’t much variation in body types aside from fat level. As a result gender isn’t really a thing in his kingdom, although most mer tend to pick a pronoun and stick with it for convenience. Colress being Colress, isn’t one of these mers. He uses any and all pronouns/royal titles: e.g. Prince, or Princess… although her servants usually just refer to her as ‘Majesty’.

-Colress is responsible for inventing most of the technology within her kingdom. She’s well liked for her inventions, but also her polite disposition.

-Faba on the other hand is despised for his rude attitude and sharp personality.

-Colress is the only mer who can make Faba laugh. At first it frustrates him, but he quickly becomes endeared. Colress likewise is endeared to Faba, because they think he’s so fun. I’ve said it before in vanilla universe hcs, but Colress does like spicy personalities~

-Their marriage was only in name, but eventually Faba finds himself wanting to actually take Colress as a ‘true’ mate. But he’s too stubborn to admit it. Colress is also beginning to feel that way as well, but remembering Faba’s very adamant stance on not wanting to become actual mates, keeps their pining to themselves.

-After Colress saves Faba from a Gyarados attack and sticks with him even after his debilitating injuries (tail fin shredded poor guy, swimming long distances is now exhausting for him), he finally does feel secure enough admit his feelings though.

-Colress eagerly accepts when Faba asks, of course.

and a Carbink! (Though Bunnelby, Buneary, or either Nidoran would also work)

(As a bonus, Layton's team includes an Unown, a Sigilyph, and a Galarian Weezing. Phoenix has a Talonflame, a Masquerain, a Sigilyph, and either a Dragonite or a Salamance. Just some sort of Dragon.) (Bonus bonus, Claire has a Chingling/Chimecho on her team.)

Apollo team is a lot harder a think for me. I am coming up with this on the fly okay here we go

Hisuian Arcanine,

a Litleo,

a Larvesta (or maybe even a Slither Wing?),

a Basculin (evolves into Basculegion, of course),

a Goomy (also Hisuian form),

and then maybe a Cacnea. Because prickly jokes.

And then Snufkin team can go one of several ways!! Either he has no traditional team (but there is a Celebi always following him around...), he has an entirely Fish team (Arrokuda, Veluza, Finneon, Bruxish, Magikarp, Barboach), OR he has the team I built for him in ScarVio
