Summary:

Kaito Tenjo is a normal 15-year-old kid who lived a simple life alongside Yuma Tsukumo. He went to school in Heartland Academy, studied most days to keep good grades, had hobbies, and sometimes dueled with Yuma’s friends.

Yet, when choices made in the past without their knowledge end up bringing a being named Astral to Yuma’s side, what they thought was normal came to an end.

Kaito wants Yuma to have nothing to do with Numbers, people losing their minds, and whatever Astral’s mission is. However, when he learns this incident could be related to his father’s research and subsequent disappearance with his little brother Haruto, Kaito is forced to rely on the last memento he was left by his family, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, to fight for the sake of those he loves in a millennia-old conflict.

Kikyo was born to a Grand Witch and a human woman. When she was little,she always had a love for inventing. Then her father died of an illness. Her family moved due to her mother getting a new job opportunity . Everywhere she went she couldn't make friends due to her unknowingly causing it to rain. It got to the point she got the nickname Lady Luckless. Didn't help that she was pretty shy. By the time she moved to Heartland City,her confidence was all but dead.

Yuto in the zexal universe!

Yuto goes to heartland academy with Yuma and Ryouga

being in the same year in middle school, Yuto gets along well with Ryouga and they often pair up to duel together

Yuto would also get along with Yuma. At lunch one day, Yuto actually shared half his rice ball with Yuma who was hungry.

Yuto and Yuma would often duel together after school!

Yuto would be a good ally in helping collect the numbers with Yuma, and Yuto would believe Yuma when he mentions Astral.

Shun and Kaito are also still rivals in this universe, Yuto and Yuma often have to break up their arguments that can lead up to some intense duels.

Yuto has a HUGE crush on Ruri who is also in his class, like so obviously too. Yuma would ask if Yuto is okay because his cheeks are burning red after Ruri smiles at him. Yuto would get cutely grumpy and cover Yuma's mouth and tell him to be quiet. Ruri will laugh at them both.

in return, Yuto would also tease Yuma about possibly like Kotori

Yuto, Ruri, Yuma and Kotori all hangout often after school together! When Yuto and Yuma leave to get them all drinks, Ruri and Kotori gossip about the boys. They both agree Yuto and Yuma are clueless boys. Ruri smiles when she talks about how cute and blushy Yuto can get when she tries to hold his hand. Kotori has similar experiences with Yuma, he gets so nervous and blushy when she compliments his smile.

in the distance, Yuto and Yuma sneeze...Yuto thinks the girls are talking about them. Yuma hopes they're saying good things about them.

Show Recommendations

Ok, peeps - I need new show recommendations, because either everything I like has gone off the air, been cancelled on a cliffhanger, or has just turned to crap. They don’t need to be fantastic or award worthy, I just want to find something where they don’t punish the audience. (Looking at you, Good Doctor). 

Two minor caveats: it cannot be entirely subtitled in English (I listen mostly, either because I’m working from home and only look at the screen occasionally and I regrettably am only fluent in English; or I am looking down at crochet projects when not at work) and I really don’t like raunchy or comedy based on cringe/secondhand embarassment.

These are the ones I currently have to recommend for new shows: 

The Recruit on Netflix - lawyer for the CIA has the worst first week of work ever Will Trent - based on a series of books, but I haven’t read them so I don’t know how far they stray. New show, one episode, Trent is made for angst with horrific backstory of being found literally in the trash as an infant, severe dyslexia, and recently off a case where he put away a bunch of dirty cops, so he has no friends in the Atlanta PD. 

Things that I’ve watched and liked but aren’t new and/or haven’t started airing new episodes yet: 

Miss Scarlet and the Duke  All Creatures Great and Small Endeavour  Granchester NCIS and NCIS Hawai’i Slow Horses Ted Lasso Fire Country (I am on the fence with this one. I like Found Family tropes, I can take romance if it’s a side plot, I just really want to find something to be enthusiastic about again, and I am not finding it on my own. I like older shows, newer shows, shows with animals, shows that ignore reality....I am dying from lack of creativity in my life.
