When Ace, Deuce, and Jack can only think about how nice it would be to kiss their crush!

ACE’S first thoughts stemmed from when he was zoning out during class, he hadn’t even realized he was actually zoning out until he became self conscious of his own thoughts.

His chin resting on his palm, tensing and looking around, suddenly hyper-aware of his surroundings and his thoughts. Trying to not cringe at his own thoughts of kissing you sweetly, secretly, like a game… Fuck.

After that? There’s no time he’s around you that he’s not thinking about kissing you, he doesn’t mean it at first, more of a first thought since the zoning out, the second thought usually being “Ew, gross,” and that’d be it. Until it wasn’t. Then, suddenly, whether you two were doing nothing or out and about, he couldn’t get himself off the fact you looked so good, and how he really really wanted to kiss you.

DEUCE only thinks about kissing anyone after overhearing someone ask their friend “Who’d you kiss if you got the chance?”

You, of course, you wouldn’t want to kiss you?

He stops, freezing almost as if someone could’ve heard his thoughts, before remembering that that’s kind of impossible. Deuce rolls his shoulder before coughing to himself awkwardly, and moving forward, agreeing to himself to just pretend it never happened, at all.

At least, that’s up until that’s exactly all he’s doing, squealing to himself in either surprise adoration or embarrassment, turning himself red with no other way to exert himself other than flopping around his bed aggressively like a fish.

In other words, he can’t look you in the eyes in his shame half the time, and when he does he can’t hold it for more than a few seconds cause he only gets reminded by how nice you are and how good you look and absolutely kissable you are and-

JACK’S first thoughts of kissing in general wasn’t of you, at first, a few friends talking about who’d probably a good kisser or what not, either way, he quietly listened to the contributions to said conversation.

He silently thought about each person a friend would mention, Ace? Deuce? Jack truly doubted either of them could get that close to anyone without almost dying first. When a friend, he honestly doesn’t know which one, brought up how you look like you’d kiss good?… Jack doesn’t care, it’s not like he wants to kiss you anyways.

That’s what he tells himself, keeping himself calm.

Like Deuce, but a lot more low-key, he slowly starts to think about kissing and you a bit too often to be considered platonic anymore. That’s when his tail starts wagging fast while he’s zoning out, doing nothing but thinking about you and you alone.

Heartslabyul Dorm Kitchen in Pixel Form!

This one was very hard due to all the little details. I even had to learn some new skills to accomplish my goals in an easier and more efficient way. (Tinted glass is so much easier to achieve with an opacity filter!!) But I love how it turned out. There’s a lot of little details I missed or that couldn’t translate well, but I’m so proud of how well I did. Here’s the photo I used for reference:

After my journey with pixel art for this kitchen, I’ve deduced that Trey truly emulates the mad hatter because only someone truly mad could use this kitchen as frequently as he does.

Intriguing; that is what you are. You Intrigued him so much, how kind you are and how silly you can be. You're just so nice to him that it makes him feel as if you knew him; the real him. Kindness glossed over your lips like honey, each word you spoke was dulcet. He found himself falling into a rabbit hole, endlessly falling for how you were naturally. 

                        [Classroom. 2:02pm]

"Cater…? Cater, are you okay??" Blinking away his drowsiness, he looks up at you and a frowning Trein. "Cater Diamond, this is the third time you have fallen asleep in my class. As punishment you will have extra homework." You saw how caters face scrunched up and grew derived of color, to be honest you felt bad for him. "Ahhhh Trein, is it possible for you to let me off the hook, I've been so busy with- '' Before the boy can finish his teacher cuts him off. "It's Mr. Trein. Diamond this is the 3rd time- I had let you off the hook quite enough." Cater let out a long sigh and slumped in his seat, for a moment you thought he was merely an empty shell. To be honest it was strange, cater was off and he wasn't anything like his preppy self at those unbirthdays. Yes, people can have their bad days but it was off to see cater so lifeless…Lifeless eyes look up at you, admiring how you looked and how focused you seemed. You, completely oblivious of the set of green eyes watching every feature of your face, focusing on how you  slowly try to catch up on what Trein is saying about homework. Feeling the pair of eyes following your movements you turn to see cater stating dead at you. Does he have no shame!? You kept your eyes on him, only for him to stare back. Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours, you lost yourself trying to focus on his eyes you haven't noticed the smile that was laying upon his face.

    Ding!

         Ding!!

            Ding!!!

                         [Hallway 2, 2:59 pm]

The halls buzzed like a beehive as you made your way through the maze of students.The hustle and bustle of the halls filled with the beautiful evening sunlight that came in by the giant windows, the students shoes squeak against the tiles scrambling to get to their dorms and rest for the day. 

You followed alongside cater as he was typing on his phone, likely updating his magicam followers about the unbirthday party being held today. Today was a special unbirthday party because this was the day the Queen of Hearts held her unbirthday after the royal Court. You remember Ace kept complaining about how Riddle kept on putting task after task on them, you would have felt bad for him if it weren't for the fact Ace provoked Riddle first. Cater also mentioned how Riddle ran him dry, making him find the cups, tend to to flamingos/ hedgehogs and painting the roses to a beautiful Scarlet. 

                     [Heartslabyul 3:01pm]

Tea cups clink and Heartslabyul fills itself with laughter, conversation mixed with the scent of fruit filled tarts flow in the air. Riddle stood up and begin his speech "Thank you all for joining us at this unbithday party, A thank you to those who helped set up and to those who honored the queens rules. Today is a very special unbirthday because the queen herself had one of the most erratic unbirthdays this very day. So please enjoy yourselves to the fullest and follow each rule in her honor."Hushed whispers caught your ear like a Venus fly-trap "honestly we did most of the work" student A said. "Yeah, cater didn't do anything" student b said, "all he did was look at his phone and said we were doing fine" another spoke. They whispered words of hate to eachother as if there was nobody else there. People who were too caught up in conversation didn't notice the light orange haired boy slip away from the table. 

   [Heartslabyul tea garden 4:49 pm]

The party had died down and the students were drained, sadly those with cleaning duty weren't off the hook. "Where is cater at?" Trey said in a somewhat worried tone, you let your eyes wander but to your surprise no cater. "Oh, he had extra homework from Trein, maybe he is in his room doing it?" You answered, trey looked around and shook his head like a worried mother when she can't find her children. "Ace, can you go check caters room?" Ace groaned and sat down the box, "Really, do I have to?" Trey hummed in response, "Yes ace." Ace walked over to deuce and dragged him off to the halls "HEY, WHY ARE YOU TAKING ME!?" Deuce yelled, "because I don't think it's fair that I have to do it." "SO!?" The adeuce Duo bickers as they walk down the hall to the orange haired Boys room. Minutes pass and the two boys come back "He wasn't there" Ace spoke, Deuce followed after "Maybe he is with the hedgehogs?" You, the adeuce Duo and trey talked about possible places on where cater could be; yall collectively agreed that the most likely place was the maze. Before you could ask one of them to go and help check a certain tyrant spoke before you.

"Prefect, go find cater. Rule 346 states: 'You must not play croquet in the gardens past 5 PM'." Riddle demanded before picking up a box of tea cups and disappearing into the dorm. You didn't mind going to find cater, in fact you were happy to get out of cleaning up the leavovers from unbirthday.  

      [Heartslabyul rose-maze 4:52pm]

You found your way to where the hedgehogs and flamingos were kept only to find no cater. You turn to some corners and make your way to the croquet course only to make a sudden stop. Cater was frowning as he crouched beside a small hedgehog, letting its small nose smell his hand. He let out a long exhale before tapping the hedgehog's small beady nose. "Cater?" The boy looked up when you called his name. A facade washes over him like water from a shower, "Heya y/nnie! What are you doing out here?" He stood up and turned to you with a faux smile. "I came looking for you.." You replied taking noticed of his disheveled hair and pink tinted nose. "Cater, are you upset?" Cater went silent to your question. "We can talk about it if you would like?" There it was, that kindness you gave away like it's nothing. That's your kindness in full bloom, even though you can keep that kindness for yourself you would rather give it to others. "It's nothing don't worry about it" He replied, in a false cheerful voice. "Stop lying cater" you mumbled, he looked at you with slightly wide eyes and exhaled slowly. "There is no tricking you huh prefect." The slince was louder than any scream, the way the air seemed to disappear while yall stood there. Green eyes linger on your silhouette, avoiding your face at all costs. You step forward, again, again and again slowly making your way to cater; Wrapping your arms around him, slowly pulling him into a soft embrace. He felt his breath hitch and his throat tightened, "Cater?" You asked, "I'm such a failure" was the only thing cater said as he wrapped his arms around you.

You took a moment to think and process his words properly. You felt your heart tighten, why would he think such things…? He works so hard to the point he falls asleep on class. He always walks around with a smile even if he is upset. He helps when others need it. Why would he think such lowley things about himself ….

"What do you mean? You are not a failure"

The air seems to soften as if it's caressing you, his arms lingering around your shoulders, as you feel droplets of water falling gently on you. It seems that you broke a dam open with mere words; words that won't have much meaning to others. But to him it felt like the world went into full bloom, you wrap your arms around him letting the light orange haired boy put a little weight off his shoulders. Yall stood in a hug for a while, exchanging little-to-no words in a comforting silence–the river he cried had yet to stop, you knew very well he was trying to stop himself from crying but no matter how much he tried it kept going. 

Seconds turned into minutes and suddenly the tears stopped its reign, for a moment you thought he had no more tears to cry until you heard a shaky inhale and exhale repeating itself like a broken record.

Cater could only imagine what you think of him— a weak person who can only cry for attention —to be as pathetic as crying because he can't handle what others say. It made him feel so small, so pathetic, so hated. The way you held him didn't help either, he had gotten his tears all over your sleeve. How stupid can he be. How can he let this happen? Why is he burdening you with his emotions? 

Why….!?

    Why….!?!?

        Why!?!?

               "Cater? Are you alright?" You mumbled in the softest tone you could muster, caters arms were still around your shoulders and he was suddenly back to reality. His breathing is still  uneven but much slower than moments ago. Dusk took its place and painted the sky in hues of yellow, orange, and red; the Heartslabyul garden was as quiet as ever. Cater held you ever-so-softly, his wavy light orange hair tickles your cheek, you can still hear his soft-uneven breathing ringing in your ear. "Cater?" You repeated. No reply.. "Cater, please answer.." silence. The only thing that could be heard were the whispers of the leaves when the wind blew. "Cater-" "Did you mean it?" The orange haired boy said in a strained voice, you pondered his question in silence. The longer you took to answer made cater squirm more, he almost panicked. "That you are not a failure?" He only replied with a nod.  "Yeah, I meant it cater." 

His grip fell limp and pulling back cater looked dead at you. Green eyes follow your face searching for any sign of you lying, instead you offer a light squeeze of his hand and rest your hand on his cheek to guide him to your eyes. All that stared back were iridescent  green eyes that where puffy and a soft smile. 

"You're doing perfect cater."
