"im just ken.. i.."

It was yet another pleasantly cold night with a gentle breeze which smelled like the sea. Sitting on the sand, Ken was thinking, contemplating his existence. Barbie had left, and he had been feeling empty inside out, he believed his heart had a void which couldn't be filled by anyone or anything... Until he saw you.

"hey there! why are you out this late?" y/n asks in a gentle tone, but it startles and disorients ken nonetheless. "Oh hey, it's nothing much, just pondering my feelings-", he pauses to look at your face and he stops. He looks deep into your e/c eyes and lets out a small gasp. It's been forever since he felt this way, since Barbie left. He quickly come to his senses and says, "I have never seen you here before.. what's your name?". "y/n. y/n l/n, nice to meet you.. ke-" "Ken. I'm Ken."

"Yeah! Nice to meet you Ken!" You say while taking a proper look at him. His skin shone under the moonlight, and gave him a mystical aura. His brown eyes and perfect jawline made him look unearthly, almost TOO perfect.. but, he's just another Ken.. right..? You end your train of thought there. You notice Ken blush and you realise- you've been staring at him. for a long time. You quickly look left and right, evidently flustered and take a seat next to him, wondering how to start your next line of conversation. You furrow your eyebrows and pout your lips, as you did when you were in deep thought. All that while, Ken couldn't help but admire your cute face, pretty lips and your personality, which radiated warmth and pleasantness. You barely exchanged a few words, but Ken felt something else, a deep connection which could only be forged over a long period of time. He then realises, at that moment, you are eerily similar to Barbie in more ways than one. That takes him back to the thought of how much he misses Barbie and unknowingly starts tearing up.

"OH, Ken? Are you alright?" You exclaim as soon as you notice his eyes well up. "No.. no y/n. She left me- left us to go become a human. i haven't seen her in the past six months and- and I don't know how much longer I can go without seeing her-" he barely manages to complete that sentence before tears stream down his face, and he starts whimpering and sobbing. You are heartbroken seeing his miserable state, and you hug him slowly, making comforting little whispers.

"don't worry.. everything will get better soon" you say before your eyes start getting moist.

Ken looks into your eyes like a lost, broken puppy, and your heart melts.

You hold him close to you, a stranger who you know nothing about yet you feel an unexplained attraction towards, and you let him cry in your arms.

you solemnly whisper into the night- "I will take care of you.. i promise."

The best part of today was, we walked together. I mean restaurant and a cafe are ok we have a reason to go there but walking un purposefully with your favourite person even after you don’t have a destination to reach is not less than a love language. That’s the way we expressed it today.
