Imagine ex-husband Gojo doing things for his new love interests that you begged him for while you were married.
After a joint meeting between the sister schools, you overheard Suguru asking him who he was texting during the meeting.
Satoru replied, "Just letting my date know I'll be a bit late tonight since we ran long here. Todo can yap, huh?"
"Seriously!" Their voices faded as they walked down the hall.
You stood just outside the meeting room watching the corner the disappeared around. If you had to pinpoint the number one reason your marriage failed - more than clan pressure, more than the strain of being young parents, more than back to back to back missions - it would be the fact that Satoru can't communicate for shit.
Part of it wasn't his fault. His brain just didn't work like that. An inconvenient side effect of limitless is that everything makes sense in your head, but it's hard for a person with the gift to explain their thoughts to others.
So the no-call, no-shows to dinners was technically a side effect of limitless, as was his inability to articulate his feelings like an adult or the fact that he would just do things without even telling you there was a problem in the first place.
"Quit doing that with your face, brat." Sukuna emerges from the meeting room. He's out of his Ryomen form at the moment, as he usually is during meetings so that he can actually fit in his chair. "How long are you gonna let what he does affect you?"
"It doesn't!" you insist.
Sukuna rolls his eyes. "If that helps you sleep at night."
Tumblr media
Imagine reminding yourself that you can't be mad at him.
You're seeing other people now, too. Hell, you've been divorced for over a decade, it's insanity that you care at all.
It's just. You never doubted his love for you. Not for a second, not even now that your marriage failed and you largely raised your son on your own.
"Mom?"
Maybe your divorce was his motivation to be better. You're not sure. But if he's capable of change, capable of being attentive and communicative, why couldn't he change for you all those years ago?
"Mom."
Could it be that you were his childhood companion and he loved you, but he was never in love with you? Was his love for you less than your love for him?
You hardly notice your son calling out to you until he springs into action. "Mom!" Sen nudges you away from the stove to turn of the burner. When did smoke fill the kitchen? The roux you were trying to make was burnt to a crisp, stuck to the pan and emanating an unpleasant smell.
Sen gently pries your hands off the handle and drops the ruined pan in the sink to soak. Then he makes sure the burner's off before turning to you with a conflicted expression.
He may have inherited a hybrid of both your and Satoru's personal brands of emotional stuntedness, but he could put two and two together between how distracted you've been and the rumors of Satoru dating again - What with it being huge news among jujutsu society (aka power hungry clans with eligible daughters.) Your son had his own complicated feelings regarding his father and as much as he'd prefer Satoru stay away from you, it hurt him to see you like this.
Though, watching you try to keep a stiff upper lip for his sake during the divorce is the reason he doesn't want his father anywhere near you.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart." You wipe your hands on a dish towel. "I wasn't paying attention. Hang tight while I make you something else."
He could kill Satoru right now. But you wouldn't like that, so he won't.
"Mama, I--" He shuts his mouth. You've been protecting him from the details of the divorce his whole life. What did he know about comforting you? But while he may not have been able to protect you then, he can sure as hell try now.
"Mama, why don't I take you out to dinner? My treat."
Tumblr media
Imagine that Sen decides he needs to stop having ideas.
He brought you to a local okonomiyaki that you've been going to since he was little to the point where the owners knew you well and liked to give you little extras from the kitchen. Today's treat was a side of pickled radish.
It was your happy little hideaway. Away from jujutsu and clans and curses and your broken home.
Sen insisted on cooking the okonomiyaki for you, saying that, "My treats means I'll take care of everything!" The weak smile you gave him made his heart soar.
You giggle while he jokes around and tells you about school like how Hikari fell asleep for 45 minutes out of an hour long test and still got a better score than him. Hearing about your son and his happy school days always made you feel better.
Sen was ready to give himself a pat on the back for cheering you up when he hears the front bell jungle and a woman's laughter carries over.
"Fancy places are like that, though!" the woman laughs. "They give a bite of food per plate."
Then a familiar voice replies, "Yeah, but it was good, wasn't it? And now we get to fill up at a cute place like this."
Even though he's the one facing the door and not you, the look on your face tells Sen all he needs to know. What breaks his heart is that you've sunk lower into your seat to make yourself smaller.
Sen could kill his father right now.
Tumblr media
Hooray, angst!

jj maybank headcanons
Tumblr media
pairing: bf!jj x fem!reader
context: jj maybank as your boyfriend.
words: 657
warnings: definitely +18. mdni. daddy issues, marijuana use, alcohol use, abandonment issues, attachment issues, physical and mental abuse, SMUT
jj's 100% the definition of a "golden retriever" boyfriend.
your relationship doesn't start out all sunshine and rainbows at first, though.
y'all were definitely a friends with benefits to lovers story.
at first, y’all kept it completely physical because you were both afraid of getting too attached and hurting each other.
jj felt like this, especially. he just didn’t think he was good enough for you.
but even when y’all were just fucking, he’d do the sweetest things for you. including making sure you were all cleaned up afterwards.
once you started dating though, the sweetness only amplified.
he doesn’t have much money, but he ALWAYS brings you flowers that he’s picked from somewhere—whether that be some kook’s garden, the country club, or even outside the chateau.
you are his absolute number one priority and the most important thing in his life.
you’re his ray of sunshine.
whenever things get bad at home with luke, you’re the first person he comes to.
when luke hits him and he shows up at your door with bruises, you nurse him back to health.
when luke talks down to him and makes him feel like a piece of shit, you reassure him that he’s not.
“you’re perfect, j. it’s not your fault.”
he’s terrified of losing you.
sometimes he thinks you’re going to see all his flaws and leave him just like his mom did. you always tell him otherwise, though.
“i’m not going anywhere, baby.”
when he gets anxious after all the pogues start fighting, you squeeze his hand three times and that makes him feel better.
he’s convinced he doesn’t deserve you.
he always takes you out on adventurous little dates—and sometimes, y’all get in trouble for it.
you’re his number one surfing buddy.
he was the one who taught you how to surf.
your family’s the family he’s never had.
he loves when your family invites him over for dinner and he gets to play with your little siblings, who absolutely adore him.
when you and the pogues smoke together, his favorite thing is when you hold the joint out in front of him and let him take a hit that way.
you always help him with his party trick when he tries to do it on the hms pogue.
you’re the only one who can keep up with him when it comes to taking shots and drinking. john b, pope, and kie always tap out.
sometimes you get insecure about his close friendship with kie, but he always assures you that it’s only you.
“i love you. you got that?”
his favorite nicknames for you are mama, princess, baby, and baby girl.
you’re the only one he’s ok with addressing him by his full name—jesse james.
don’t think everything’s perfect though, sometimes you fight too.
especially about guns. and jj getting into fights.
you always nurse him back to health regardless, but you hate when he gives in and scrambles with whoever.
fights are non-negotiable if someone says shit about you, though.
not only will he go against your wishes about him fighting, but he’ll make sure he wins.
speaking of jealousy, it doesn’t happen often, but he definitely still gets jealous every now and then. and he loves reminding you that you're his.
“you’re mine, princess.”
he’ll show you that in bed too.
and since it's jj, he's an ABSOLUTE FREAK in the sheets, and kinky as hell too.
he'll tie you up, eat you out, and make you cum over and over again until you beg him to stop.
he loves bending you over and fucking you while giving your ass a little smack.
he chokes you occasionally, but prefers pulling your hair.
he will lick anything off of you and tease your clit until you're squirming.
he definitely has a daddy kink too.
when you give him head, he loves giving you facials.
and his favorite position is your legs on his shoulders.

#SOMETHING UNEXPECTED
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: Dina x Ellie x Reader
tags: smut, fingering, MY LOVES
Tumblr media
Life seemed average, a repeated cycle you could never seem to get out of. Bland, overused and average.
“YN, you need to get out more! All you do is work and sleep!” Jesse complains. But how could you “get out more” if the whole world was under attack by human beings infected by fungus?
“Jesse, m’not going out tonight. I gotta patrol early tomorrow, I don’t have time f’drinking.” You scoff, closing the book you were reading and placing it in the nearby nightstand. “You’re so boring, you never do anything fun.” He rolls his eyes and exits the room.
You never enjoyed parties anyways. You always felt like an outcast to this whole group of people, you were surprised they even let you stay this damn long. You had showed up out of no where and yet they let you in after a check for infection.
The day continued like usual. Eat, Work, Sleep, Repeat, and obviously the necessities. You groan as you awake, your hair bed head a lot messier than usual. You rub your temples as you exit the hard bed that was seemingly put together from sheets and scattered pillows found around.
You somehow found yourself assigned to early patrol with Ellie and Dina. It wasn’t that you disliked them, it was that you liked them a little too much. Somehow, they distracted you from your daily routine, always pulling you somewhere you didn’t need to be, forcing you to explore things you’d never explored. But today it seemed there was a lot of tension in the area. The snow not making it any better as the freezing air made the freeze of the silence grow thicker.
Silence engulfed the whole ride, until they approached an abandoned warehouse that had a harsh smell of weed. Inside a whole farm of it, just growing like nothing. “Hey hey, I haven’t seen this shit in forever.” Ellie says picking up a jar. “Does weed expire?” She asks turning to Dina, having finally spoken a word to each other. “I guess we’ll have to find out?”
A loud bang was heard, causing you to flinch as you turned to see that the snow had trapped all three of you inside the weed smelling warehouse. “God, I did not want this.” You roll your eyes, removing the gloves you wore. “Fuck…!” You kick something nearby. “Whoa there, it’s not that big of a deal, we can just stay here until it dies down. Then we can try moving the snow.” Ellie suggests, removing her coat and settling in a nearby couch.
You watch as Dina does the same, grabbing a lighter that seemingly still worked to light the joint they’d found in the jar. “This still hits.” Dina says with a small smile, passing the joint over to Ellie. You sigh, removing your jacket and looking around to search for another exit. “Hey, why are you so quick to leave? Live a little and come smoke this with us.” Ellie says, looking at you with her low eyes as the weed seemed to already be taking effect.
“I’m good, I don’t smoke. I didn’t smoke before either.” You roll your eyes, looking around once more, seeing that there were no other ways out. “Just come and sit down. It’s like you have a stick up your ass or somethin’.” Dina says, tilting her head to look at you. You groan, stomping over to them both and settling on the couch. “Here, I think ya need it.” Ellie giggles, egging Dina to do the same.
“I said I’m good.” Dina takes the joint, “Just one time, it won’t kill ya?” She takes a drag from the joint, blowing it into your face, causing you to retract. “Fine.” You finally give in, inhaling the smoke. You cough quickly, the biting sensation in the back of your throat lingering. “Okay what the hell?” You ask, hunching over to cough. “It’s fine, happens when it’s your first time. Try again.” Ellie helps you sit up, guiding the joint to your lips.
“When you inhale, inhale it slowly. So, it doesn’t hurt as bad.” Dina says softly, placing her hand on your thigh unconsciously. You flinch slightly, inhaling the smoke, letting it drape into your lungs slowly. Blowing the smoke into the air, you feel yourself becoming a lot more relaxed. “That was better yeah?” Ellie asks, watching you as she inhaled the joint and blows the smoke into your face.
“I guess so.” You say quietly, everyone feeling the effects of the weed. It hits you harder, your head spinning softly, your eyes getting heavier, and the stir between your legs becoming a lot more prominent. “Should we have another Dina? I’m not sure she can handle two.” Ellie says, looking at your slouched appearance.
You shake your head. “I’m good, I think.” You chuckle. Ellie nods lighting another, placing it between her thin yet plump lips. You watch her, your eyes entranced by the way her lips wrap around the joint. Dina slides her hand further up your leg, catching your attention. You turn to her, a smirk dawning her lips as she tilts her head to get a better look at you.
Ellie hands the joint over once more, this time leaning over you a bit more than usual. The feeling of her skin warming you up a lot more then you already were, her perky and uncovered breasts swaying in your face. You blush softly, your face tinted slightly. The thoughts that run through your head becoming unholy, but you blame it on the weed. Dina takes a drag, inhaling slowly. Suddenly she leans into you, your lips parting as she connects her lips to yours and exhales the smoke back into your lungs.
It was random, causing you to flinch softly. “Did ya like that? Or should I stop?” She slides her hand up your thigh further, her thumb gliding over your clothed cunt softly. Ellie watches, her eyes lingering over your figure. You look at Dina, the sinful thoughts running through your head starting to take over. “I-I don’t do this. I’ve never-“ Ellie silences you, putting the bud of the joint into the couch to let it burn out.
“We got you.”
Like usual, with Ellie and Dina you were doing something you didn’t usually do. Your legs spread open as Dina licked up the slit of your wet and dripping cunt. Ellie grips her hair, guiding her to eat you out just right. Your hands gripping the side of the couch as you whine and groan Dina’s name out into existence. Her arms wrapped around your thighs to keep your legs open as you shake, throwing your head back as she hits the spot that makes you tingle just right.
“Fuhh-ck!” Your head falls back off the couch, Dina’s fingers mingling with the hardened buds underneath your shirt. “Feel good pretty?” Ellie asks softly, looking down at you. You nod, droll pooling at your lips. Dina slides her finger into your core, your back arching into her as you fuck yourself with her fingers. “Fuc- Dina! Oh good-“ You grip the couch harder, the knot in your stomach growing tighter.
She eats you like it was her last meal, her eyes never leaving yours as she penetrates you with another finger. Ellie continues to guide her, hitting all the spots inside you just right. Her hands come down to your chest, running her thumb over the nipple as if she was admiring the way they bounced as you used Dina. “Yesyes.. right there!”
You grind against her face, feeling yourself become a lot needier. The high you felt earlier could never compare to this one. Her hands spreading you open just right, your eyes shut tightly. “Look at me hun.” She says softly, diving back into you as you open your eyes to look down at her. Ellie watches in awe at the way you open up to Dina’s fingers. “Oh shi- I’m gonna cum Din-“ Ellie suddenly moves Dina’s hand away.
You catch your breath, confused as to why she was depriving you. “I wanna turn too.” Dina rolls her eyes. “You could’ve at least let her cum first. I’m sure she can handle two orgasms.” You watch as they talk about you like you're not even there. “Okay then, think you can handle two pretty?” Your eyes pan to Ellie, nodding slowly as you lean back once more. “Good girl, see I told ya.” Dina says, sliding her digits back inside of you.
She decides not to start slow this time, her fingers using you quickly. “I wanna taste you c’mon.” You feel the high you were on coming back, your hands gripping her hair softly. Your eyes don’t leave her as Ellie leans back, watching the both of you as she waits patiently for her turn with you.
“C’mon hun, wanna taste your cum.” Dina speaks sinfully, causing you to fall over the edge. “Oh- cumming! Please!” You release on her fingers, back arching over the edge of the couch. Your legs shake as you orgasm like you never have before. She sucks softly on your sensitive bud, you whine softly. “Gotta take one more for Ellie, she wants a taste too hun.” Dina slaps your cunt softly.
You nod, spreading your legs once more. The adrenaline running through your body causing you to work against how sensitive you were. “Go in then you needy fuck, go get your fill of her before she changes her mind.” Dina slaps Ellie’s arm softly, wiping her face of your essence. Ellie leans in, kissing your stomach, kissing the inside of your thigh, then kissing your fold softly. “I can’t wait anymore.”
She suddenly licks, causing you to close your legs. “Ah Ah C’mon now. You keep ‘em open f’me do the same for El.” Dina spread your legs back open, leaning against Ellie. You whine, feeling sensitive as Ellie continues with her endeavor. She spreads your folds, sliding her finger inside to replace Dina’s. The length of her finger hitting a spot inside you that Dina didn’t hit before.
“Ah, wait! You- god!” You try to close your legs once more, but Dina slaps your inner thigh, holding them open. “Hey, stop it. You said you could take it so take it like a big girl.” Dina giggles, rubbing your inner thigh softly. You chant Ellie’s name, her fingers curling slighting inside you. You grip her hair, riding her face as if she were a dildo and you were a pornstar.
Dina feels her arousal pooling in her pants, sliding her hand down into her jeans as she touches herself at the sight of you. Your bottom lip I’m between your teeth as you groan, Ellie’s hair gripped in between your fingers. She enjoys the sight of it all. Ellie kissing your stomach again as she adds another finger, speeding up just enough to make you scream. “I’m- oh shit! Ellie please…!” You hold onto her wrist to keep her from moving away, riding her fingers and clenching around them.
“Gonna cum pretty, I wanna taste you as bad. S’not fair Dina got to try it first.” You whine, unable to speak. Dina throws her head back as she feels herself about to release around her own fingers. “Gonna cum together yeah? Cum with me YN.” She says breathlessly as she rides her own fingers. Ellie snickers, “ya just couldn’t wait could ya?” Diving back down to devour the essence about to release from you.
Your head spinning softly, your back arching, you ride her fingers until suddenly. You burst, cumming and squeezing around her fingers, your head falling back and your legs shaking like never before. “E-El oh Fuck! Yesyesyes!” You spread your legs more as she licks it all up, not leaving one drop of you behind. “Taste so good pretty.” She says quietly into your cunt.
Dina cums as well, her legs shaking as she slows down, circling her bud slowly. “Oh yes..” she leans back, pulling her hand out of her jeans. “Wanna taste?” She asks, leaning forward and placing her fingers into your mouth, allowing you to suck them clean. Your eyes low, the high still rippling through you.
“Let’s do this again sometime.”

Opening your eyes, you blink a few times, trying to adjust your vision to the darkness surrounding you. There is a faint glow that gently illuminates the space around you but everything else is mostly darkness and all you can make out are vague shapes and shadows. Looking around, you see that a small bit of light is coming from some embers in a dying fire next to you. This is definitely not your tiny studio apartment back home.
Where the hell are you?
As you sit up, you rub your eyes, groaning at the stiffness in your joints. From the aches in your muscles, you must have been asleep for a while. Looking down, you realize that you are lying on a bed of what seem to be soft furs or pelts of some kind. A cool breeze drifts in from somewhere and you shiver, realizing that you are also naked.
What the fuck happened?
But before you can try to rack your foggy brain to figure it out, a giant yellow eye the size of your head blinks open at the edge of the darkness across from you. Yelping in shock, you scramble backwards as the eye rotates to reveal a second one just as large and luminescent. Both eyes have giant slitted pupils and seem to glow in the darkness. Before you can get far, something smooth and cool wraps around your waist, holding you in place. Heart pounding in your ears, you glance down to find that it is a dark green, almost black, appendage covered in scales. Extending from the darkness, it winds around your stomach with the end coming to a tapered point near your navel. It squeezes gently, hard enough to hold you firm but not enough to hurt.
Holy shit, is it a tail of some sort?
Too terrified to move further, you hold your breath and look back up at the giant yellow orbs peering at you from the shadows. Slowly, they begin to draw closer, and you hear heavy, measured thuds echo off the walls. As the eyes approach the dying fire, a massive snout comes into view and then a head the size of a car follows. Your eyes bug as you take in the scaly surface of a face, with ridged brows and a line of spikes running in increasing size from the tip of its snout up and over the back of its head. Two large horns protrude from above its brows and curve backwards towards where you assume its shoulders would be.
When its snout is a few inches from your face, you tremble as its nostrils flare and it inhales deeply. Then it exhales with a low rumbling sound as its hot breath fans across your face, blowing strands of hair off your shoulders.
It’s…sniffing you!
You nearly jump out of your skin when a deep, inhuman voice booms through the cavern and you have to cover your ears from the sheer volume.
“You are awake.”
The voice continues to echo off the walls for a few moments and then silence settles again, apart from the monster’s deep rhythmic breaths and your pounding heart. Slowly, you lower your hands from your ears and realize, belatedly, that it hadn’t moved its mouth when it spoke.
Had it projected its voice or are you just going crazy? Probably just going crazy.
“Where…where am I?” you manage to stammer out.
“My cave,” it rumbles again, softer this time, as if it realized its voice was too loud.
Oh fuck, you are going to die here, cold and naked in this cave.
Beginning to hyperventilate, you start to struggle in the grasp of its tail.
“Please don’t eat me!” you shout.
You need to figure out a way to get out of here!
It lets out a low, chuffing sound, which must be a chuckle and says, “I don’t plan to eat you.” And before you know what’s happening, its jaws part slightly and a giant, tapered tongue slips between massive, razor sharp teeth and licks up the side of your neck.
Shit, this monster definitely wants to eat you.
“Why am I here?” you squeak, utterly terrified but trying to keep it talking in the hopes you can figure out an escape plan before it decides it’s done playing with its food.
“I wanted a pretty treasure for my horde.”
A pretty treasure?... Does he mean you?

waking up felt extremely weird. you felt like you had taken the longest, heaviest nap ever. slowly opening your eyes to adjust to the light, you take in your surroundings.
you're in a shallow hole, you noticed as you looked around, and there was dirt around you. you look up at what you would think was the sky and see something else that you remember seeing before. you see the leaf covering that the omatikaya place over their passed-away loved ones. you usually see these leaf coverings from the outside. this caused a slight panic to settle in your chest?
why are you here? did you die? what the hell is going on?
you reached your arm up, still feeling weak from not moving your joints in you don't even know how long. you slowly press against the leaf covering, pushing it away from the hole and exposing the sun to your eyes. you shielded yourself before you felt a shadow standing over your form. it was mo'at. the tsahik of the omatikaya clan.
"tsahik?" it was the first word you said, and it caused mo'at to press a hand to her mouth in shock as tears sprang to her eyes. her granddaughter, who had passed away two years ago, was looking up to her from her grave that she had pushed open herself. the tsahik didn't understand. how could the great mother take you away for two years and let their family mourn and grieve your death just to send you back to them two years later?
this made no sense.
"come with me, my child," was the only thing mo'at said as she reached out to grab your hand. she intertwined your fingers, wanting to hold her granddaughter as close as possible, fearing losing you again. she helped you out of the hole slowly as you still had to get used to moving your arms and legs around again.
"ma tsahik?" you asked the older woman standing before you. "what happened to me?"
she didn't turn to look at you as she said in a hushed, almost hurt, tone of voice, "you died two years ago," you were left speechless. you didn't know what to say, so you didn't say anything. you tried to think back on what happened before you woke up from your 'nap,' but you couldn't remember anything. no matter how hard, no memories or thoughts came to your head.
"do not try to work your brain so hard trying to find answers that will come to you, my child. you'll hurt yourself." the tsahik jokes.
you looked up at her, seeing the slight smile on her face but missing the faint trace of tears in her eyes. you let out a small laugh at her joke.
"hey! i may not remember anything from before, but i know i was not stupid before i died." you laughed along, but this caused the tsahik to stop in her tracks, turning to you.
"say that again." she said, grabbing hold of your shoulders, her face painted with worry.
"i was not dumb before i died?" you said, confused at her sudden actions.
"no, child! the other thing you said."
"oh, that i do not remember anything from before i died?" your words were cautious because you didn't know if what you were saying was offensive.
"we must get you back to the camps." was all she said as she turned, grabbing your hand, but this time she walked with urgency. her pace was hard to keep up with due to your aching body, but you somehow managed.
once you started to enter your native territory, you felt eyes everywhere. everyone was looking at you. you get it; you died and came back, but did everyone have to stare at you like that? it wasn't like you were the olo'eyktans daughter before you died.
mo'at brought you to the center of the high grounds camp, and everyone gathered around to see what announcement their tsahik had for them.
she didn't have some big speech planned. she just held your hand and said to the clan's people.
"the great-mother has returned my granddaughter!" everyone was cheering and happy. this confused the sully family. the past two years after your death have been hard. the natives completely annihilated every rda soldier, lab, and scientist in sight. it was an unexpected, coordinated attack between the forest na'vi, the ice na'vi, and, surprisingly, even the ash na'vi. due to transportation, the water na'vi couldn't make it to fight the war, but they were able to send over some of their finest healers.
let's just say no ships are coming to pandora ever again. jake made sure to send a message to the humans back on earth that if they ever sent one of their own to his planet again, he would single-handedly rip them each limb from limb. that was a promise, not a threat. humans had not gotten a chance to respond to jake's words. right after he delivered his messages, he pulled the pin of a grenade and walked out of the ship, it and the rest of the camp's base exploding behind them. although they didn't get to respond, they sure did receive the message, and earth now no longer had an avatar program. as the na'vi walked away from the war, they were victorious once and for all.
neytiri was quietly braiding her youngest daughter's hair when she heard the cheers and celebration of the clan outside her home. and then that's when her three older children came running into their hut, screaming and crying, speaking simultaneously. it sounded as if they were speaking gibberish.
"hey, hey kids calm down. what is going on?" jake asked his children, who looked like they were in distress. he was sitting in the home's living area, sharpening his blade as he had nothing else to do.
"Y/N HAS RETURNED." it was kiri who got the words out first.
neytiri, jake, and tuk all froze. there was no way. the great mother had taken you right in front of their eyes. you have been gone for two years; it can't be. neytiri had visited your grave just last night. there you lay, closed-eyed and lifeless in front of her, but as she walked out of her home and into the center of the clan's gathering there, you stood. you looked skinny and malnourished, but you were standing, breathing, alive.
neytiri couldn't believe her eyes. she thought she was dreaming as she approached you slowly. she held your face in her hands, and as soon as she felt your skin against her own, she broke down in tears, engulfing you in the tightest hug you had ever felt.
"ow." you said when she squeezed a bit too hard. this caused the woman to release you quickly, as she had forgotten how fragile you were right now.
"ma ite, you have returned to me, oh great mother, you have answered my prayers. thank you, thank you, thank you," she said as she pulled you into a hug again, this time softer, as if she was afraid that if she held you too rough, you would break in her arms.
you, on the other hand, were nervous. granddaughter? ite? what is going on right now? there's no way you're the tsahik's granddaughter. you couldn't imagine what your mother would be like as a person, let alone any of your family. all you knew was that you were from the forest, but maybe eywa brought you back to the wrong part of the forest? you couldn't even look at the woman before you and pinpoint a resemblance. you had four fingers; some of her children had five, and you weren't like them. only one other child had four tingers, and you noticed it was the eldest son.
when you made eye contact with him, his eyes softened. neteyam hadn't looked into his twin's eyes in ages. he missed you like no other. yeah, neytiri had it hard losing her first daughter, but neteyam had his twin's life ripped from her body right in front of his eyes. at that moment, it was almost like he felt the bullets go through his chest as well. that's how great the pain of losing you felt. but looking at you now, he felt like his heart was whole again. but there was this look in your eye. you looked different. not physically. you looked at neteyam differently. almost like you didn't recognize him.
mo'at had hoped that seeing your home and your family would cause your memories to come flooding back, but the look on your face was not giving her that impression.
"i am sorry if i am ruining a happy moment…." you spoke up, causing everyone to immediately silence themselves so they wouldn't miss a word you said. but you didn't say anything that caused any happiness or joy in anyone. instead, your words scared everyone.
"–but i do not know who you guys are. i am not the tsahik's granddaughter and miss, i am not your daughter. i am sorry but i think you have things confused. please excuse me." you pulled yourself away from the woman who claimed to be your mother, but she tightened her grip on your hands.
"ma y/n, what do you mean? you do not remember me? i am your mother, your sa'nu. you are ma ite, my sweet girl." neytiri was taken aback. this isn't right, you're supposed to come back, and then everything goes back to normal. but the great mother has returned you with no memories at all. to you, neytiri was just a stranger claiming to be your mother.
the next person to approach you was the olo'eyktan himself. you couldn't bring yourself to look him in the eyes because of how his vast form intimidated you.
"itetsyip. maybe if you come home and see some of your things then you'll remember." he said, placing his hand on your back and walking you in the direction of what you assumed was their home. you quickly remove yourself from the two adults who had you in their arms.
"i am sorry but i am not your daughter. i do not want to enter your home to look at whatever things you think are mine. just because i have no memory of my family does not mean you get to take me away from them. the great mother may have returned me to my body with no memories but that does not mean you get to put whatever you want in my head, trying to get me to believe you. i only just returned. do you not understand how overwhelming this is?" you were scared. everything was happening so fast.
you just found out that you had been dead for two years, and now these people are trying to push this life in you that you know god and well that wasn't yours. you don't know who these people are, and they were making absurd accusations. maybe you really were in the wrong part of the forest.
"y/n stop joking around. do you not remember us? you are neteyam's twin sister for crying out loud. how can you be cruel enough to pull a joke like this? have we not suffered enough?" lo'ak was fed up with this whole situation. you were his sister, dammit. how could you not remember that? neteyam is your twin. you, tuk, and kiri were sisters. they're standing right in front of you, just begging you to run into their arms so they can embrace you.
you looked at the teenage boy oddly. like he had three heads. he doesn't know what he's talking about. these people are so pushy and demanding; you can't come from a family like this. you thought about it, and you knew they would be able to catch you if you tried to make a break for it, but you didn't want to be here anymore.
lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice the family's eldest son walking up to you. he gently grabbed your shoulders, looking directly into your eyes that were identical to his.
"you could not have forgotten about your twin brother have you, sister?" his words were soft. they sounded broken like he was hurting inside. from what? you don't know, but this isn't your problem to deal with. these people obviously lost somebody, but it is not you. you are not from here. so you hatched a plan in your head.
"maybe i just need to walk around the forest and re-familiarize myself. it–" you choked on your words, not even wanting to say it.
"it could help me regain my memories. and then we can be a family again, yeah?" you look into the boy's eyes, noticing them shining a bit brighter. you gave him hope.
that wasn't your intention. you just wanted to leave, so to make yourself 100x more believable, you hugged him. with all the strength you had in your body, which wasn't much.
everyone was shocked. even neteyam, but he didn't want to lose this moment, so he hugged you back tight, so you could feel his love but not too tight because of how weak you are. you pulled back from the hug, bowing slightly to everyone before you walked in the direction that you and the tsahik came from so you wouldn't seem lost. you looked back before you could fully disappear into the trees. eyes meeting those of the people who claimed to be your family. looking at them, you didn't even see where you would fit in. they already looked whole. so you managed a small fake smile, sent them a small wave, and continued your trek through the forest, trying to get as far away from the omatikaya people as possible.
by the time they realize you're gone, you'll already be way too far for them to find you. you wandered around, wondering why the great-mother returned you like this? did you not deserve to keep your memories?
almost as if she heard your question, the great mother flashed an image in your head. it was different shades of forest green, with indigo spots placed randomly around its body, looking almost like flowers. its wings were majestic, but you couldn't pinpoint what you had seen until it landed right in front of you, keeping you from walking off a cliff you hadn't even realized you were walking towards.
you couldn't believe that after two years of being gone, your ikran, syulang, was still alive. you named her syulang because, yes, of course, she looks like she's covered in flowers, but unlike other ikrans, syu was quiet, elegant, almost undetectable in the air. you would never hear her flying anywhere, and nobody knew why. the air would run smoothly over her wings, completely muting the sound of the wind rushing by in comparison to the usual loud, noisy ikrans that everyone else had tamed. syulang was delicate, like a flower.  "syu! hi girl, oh my goodness you’re alive." you said as you created your tsaheylu with her for the first time in years. it felt like the first time all over again, except without the part where she tried to kill you. syulang was happy to see you as well, nuzzling into you. "syulang, we have to go. right now. come on girl, take me home." when you said this, syulang made a noise of confusion but allowed you to mount her anyways. the two of you took off into the night, the eclipse making it too dark for anyone to notice that an ikran was out flying. not like they would hear syulang anyways.
Tumblr media
it's been hours. you still hadn't come back from the forest, and the sullys were getting worried. everyone was tense and stressed until kiri spoke up.
"she ran away," the teenage girl hadn't even realized it was herself who had spoken. she looked up and made eye contact with everyone in her family, repeating herself.
"she ran away, and she is not going to come back." tears sprung to her eyes as she just wanted her sister to return home. it was like eywa was dangling the most precious thing to them right in their faces, and every time they reached out, she snatched it away.
"she would not do that. she said she was just going on a walk. kiri have some faith in her. sure she did not remember us but she would not have hugged me if she was just gonna run away. she said she would come home." neteyam argued. he didn't want to believe that you had left them again, but that's what it was starting to seem like.
"we will check the ikrans. if hers is still there, then she's around here somewhere. we can go out and look for her." syulang had not left your family's ikran nest since the day you had passed. she was too depressed to do anything with her hunter being dead. the sullys made sure to take care of her for you, knowing you wouldn't want syu to suffer like you did. honestly, syulang was the closest thing the sullys had to you after you died. they'd take turns taking care of her at night, bringing tuk every now and then so she could see syulang too.
the walk to the family ikran nest was full of arguing. kiri said that neteyam and lo'ak had to come to their senses and realize that you were gone again. the boys refused to believe that you would leave again, but as they approached the ikran nest, seeing syulang's corner abandoned gave them the answer they fought over.
you had left.
"i told you she left. i mean for eywa's sake you guys bombarded her as soon as she got here!" kiri yelled at her family. she knew this was just displaced anger and that she didn't really mean it, but she was tired of holding her tongue.
"don’t you dare say we bombarded her! she is my twin who died in front of me! eywa forgive me for wanting to hug her after she's been dead for two years!" neteyam yelled back at kiri; this just caused a huge family argument to break out.
tuk, who was standing to the side watching her family fall apart, couldn't help but cry. she just wanted her family to go back to normal. "stop fighting…" it came out as a whisper, her family arguing so loud that they hadn't even heard her. so she decided to make them hear her.
"STOP FIGHTING!!" everyones' heads snapped at the youngest sully child. little tuk had just raised her voice at them for the first time ever.
"give me a break! we are all hurt okay?! us, y/n, grandma, the clan? everyone is sad! we did bombard her! she has not been here for two years. we should have let her settle in first. i get it. you guys miss her. so do i, but ma sa'nu when you talked to her she looked so confused and scared. and nete, when she was hugging you her eyes were so empty. she looked so lost. we scared her away. we had a chance to make things normal again, to be a family again and all you guys could do was be selfish and think about yourselves!! i just miss her. i want her to come back, i–" tuk couldn't even finish what she was saying as her sobs overcame her. neytiri scooped up her youngest daughter, cradling her in her arms, trying to soothe her harsh cries.
tuk had just lectured their entire family, and nobody could be mad at her because she was right. neytiri realized that she had been pushy. jake and lo'ak, too, but it wasn't because they were trying to scare you. they just missed you so much they couldn't contain themselves. they had been selfish, putting their feelings over yours once again. it was the same way they lost you last time, and now, who knows where you went or when you left. the family just remained in their ikrans nest that night, needing all the warmth they could get as they all just held each other and cried.
Tumblr media
you didn't think you could fly any longer. it had already been a few days, and you didn't see the forest anymore. you already didn't have a lot of energy due to you being dead for two years, but it didn't help that you left with absolutely no supplies to survive on your own. everything was starting to look the same. you felt like you were going in circles, seeing the same islands over and over. the ocean water was beautiful, you had to admit, but right now, all you could think about was if it would cushion your fall if you fell off your ikran. you knew it was only moments before you passed out from exhaustion.
the world started to spin as if it wasn't already, your vision was in and out, and you felt sleepy. you were exhausted and couldn't fly another second. as your body completely shut down, you fell off your ikran and into the waters below you, your tsaheylu disconnecting in the process.
had it not been for the hunters out at three brothers rock, you would have died. they noticed your ikran flying in the direction of their mainland, assuming you were a visitor and that they would meet you when they got back to the island, but they knew something was wrong when they noticed your form plummeting from the extreme height, completely motionless.
they only took a few minutes to have you on the rock. they were nervous about doing cpr on you because you looked to be a teenager.
"ao'nung, come over here!" the hunter in charge called over the olo'eyktans son.
"what is it?" he said, noticing the tension in the air. he looked down, seeing you unconscious on the ground. his eyes widened. where had you come from? pushing that question aside, ao'nung took in your appearance, noticing how thin and weak you looked. he didn't know what it was, but it stirred something in him. you reminded him of his little sister, tsireya. if this was her, he would want one of the hunters to save her, so he put one arm under your shoulders and another under your leg and slid into the water, calling out to his ilu.
"i'm bringing her to my mother immediately. she looks weak. i don't even know if she'll live, but i have to try." he said before taking off as fast as he could to the mainland. he noticed above him your ikran was flying at the same pace as him, probably too worried to leave your side.
when ao'nung got home holding an unconscious forest na'vi, he received a lot of weird glances from the clan's people, but he didn't care. he rushed home, looking for his mother.
pushing the flap open to see his mother had just put the last of her herbs away, ao'nung called out to his mom.
"sa'nu! help! i– she needs help. please." hearing her son in distress, ronal was quick to give him her attention. instructing to lay the girl on the floor, she reminded herself to ask him where he had found her, but right now, she prioritized saving your life. she tried a healing remedy that would've usually worked, but you remained motionless. ronal put her ear to your chest, your heart was beating, but it was very faint. she knew only one thing she could do now, and it was the riskiest healing remedy known by all tsahiks. it has a minimal success rate but has healed some of the deadliest injuries known to eywa.
once the remedy was made entirely, ronal told ao'nung to get out and find his father and sister before coming back. the boy nodded, walking out to find his sister.
when he spotted tsireya riding on the ilus with her friends, he called her over. tsireya noticed her brother looked a bit more anxious than usual, so she excused herself and walked over.
"brother what is wro– oh!" ao'nung pulled his little sister into the tightest hug he could muster. she remained shocked as her brother wasn't really one for physical affection at all unless it was from his mother.
"please just– don't die on me, okay? at least not anytime soon. promise me, okay?" he said, pulling back and grabbing her shoulders as he looked into his sister's eyes. she just nodded and walked alongside her brother, wondering what on earth had him shaken up like this.
upon retrieving his father, ao'nung returned with his father and his sister in tow. when they entered the tent, you were in ronal's arms, crying your heart out. the woman just looked up to her family, shushing them as she continued to provide you comfort. hearing your cries throughout their home hurt their hearts. you cried like you were hurt like you had experienced grave pain, and it was coming back to haunt you.
from this moment on, the family decided they would take you in. they didn't know who or where you were from, but they wanted to heal you of this pain. their hearts hurt hearing how much pain your heart had to endure. there's a reason why eywa brought you to them, and they were not about to let you go.
Tumblr media
you had been living amongst the metkayina clan for about half a year now. you weren't even recognizable from when you had arrived at the clan. when you got here, you were thin as a twig, you never had the energy to do anything, and you cried yourself to sleep every night. now, you had filled out your form, even gaining a bit of muscle from adapting to the metkayina ways. you had also completed your iknimaya, which meant you were allowed to get a tattoo. you choose to get two. the pain was well worth it, though, because once your leg sleeve and arm tattoo were complete, you couldn't have been happier.
you finally felt like your life was worth living again. you no longer cried yourself to sleep; instead, you snuck out with your brother and sister, going to the small island where all the young na'vi hang out. you were finally happy. the great mother had brought you home. she had returned you to your family.
the only odd thing was your dreams recently. you dreamed of the forest, of nantangs, woodsprites, and ikrans. things that have nothing to do with the metkayina. it was weird. you felt like eywa was trying to shove memories in your brain, but you were so at peace with your life that you disregarded it, too caught up, in reality, to be bothered by silly dreams.
you loved life on the beaches, in the sand, underwater, just taking in the beauty of awat'alu as you sat on a rock. at the same time, you watched ao'nung, tsireya, and rotxo playing on their ilus in the water. they were splashing each other, just taking time to be the teenagers they knew they'll never be again. you were about to cannonball in the water to join them when you all heard the horns of the clan being blown, announcing new arrivals.
you all stopped what you were doing, looking toward the screeches you heard. you knew that sound, that was bob, jake's ikran.
wait a minute… what?
whos jake?
‘jake sully’ said a voice in your head. you recognized it as she had spoken to you once before, but you couldn't remember where.
why is this name coming to your head right now? you felt your wrist being grabbed by your sister, tsireya. she dragged you to the beaches of your clan's home, where everyone else had gathered. you stood behind your father, tonowari, as you continued to think about the name that came to your head. who is jake sully, and why did you just remember his name?
"my children, ao'nung, tsireya, and–" tonowari paused, looking to his side at his children, realizing one was missing, until he turned around and realized you were just hiding behind him.
"–and my youngest, y/n, will teach your children the ways of our home, so you do not suffer the burden of being useless here," tonowari stepped aside, pushing you in front of him, so the family who had arrived could see you.
you looked up to make eye contact with the first person you spotted.
"tuktuk." the words were quiet from your mouth. the little girl, who had her head tucked into her mother's neck, perked up when she heard the nickname you used to call her.
"kiri, cut it out. that is not funny!" tuk said, looking at her sister, offended she would play a sick joke on her like that after they had just left their home.
jake and neytiri decided to move their family from the omatikaya clan, deciding that being there reminded them too much of you. it hurt to continue to live on the soil that you died on. so they up and moved their whole family elsewhere, flying towards warmer air and gorgeous waters. they fully expected to be able to find uturu with jake being toruk makto and their war being over. what they hadn't expected to see was their dead runaway daughter standing amongst a sea of teal na'vi.
slowly walking towards the family, tonowari called out to you, but ronal placed her hand on her mate's chest, telling him to shut up and watch what was happening.
"tuktuk," you repeated as you walked towards the girl. when tuk realized that the voice was coming from in front of her and not behind her, she turned her head around, her yellow eyes meeting yours.
"y/n!!" tuk practically dropped herself from her moms' arms, running up to you.
you met her halfway, falling to your knees, pulling your little sister into a hug, her face in your neck as you supported her head. as you looked at each one of them, their names, faces, and memories came back. you remembered everything.
"and you're neteyam, and lo'ak and kiri!" when your siblings heard you say their names, it was like a switch in them flipped. within seconds they were all in the sand hugging you and tuk, crying because you finally remembered them.
you pulled back from the hug, looking at the two people who hadn't joined the hug yet.
"sempu," you said, reaching your hand out to jake. he didn't even try to conceal his tears as he allowed himself to join his children in their hug.
your mother still stood there in awe. neytiri was scared. she was the reason you left last time and didn't want to scare you away again, so she just stood with tears rolling down her face, not knowing what to do. for the first time in her life, neytiri didn't know what to do.
you could see the hesitation in her eyes. but you were confused as to why. neytiri was the only one who treated you right before you died… so why is she the last to come to you.
"mom?" you called out to her, but she didn't move. did she not want you anymore? has she gotten used to the family without you?
you tried once more, refusing to lose your family again. "sa'nu, please." a tear rolled down your cheek, looking into your mother's eyes. you saw all the hurt and stress, everything she had to endure while you were gone.
hearing you call her sa'nu was the last push neytiri needed before she fell to her knees and joined her family's embrace. you have returned. you returned to your family, and you were safe. everyone pulled back from you, taking in your appearance. you had matured a lot since the last time they saw you. you and neteyam were about the same height now, but your muscles surpassed his due to all the swimming you do.
you noticed that he had noticed too, and you just nudged his shoulder with your own, "do not worry, twin, i will teach you everything you will need to know. maybe you will grow up to be big and strong like me," you teased your twin. neteyam rolled his eyes, laughing along with you.
"woah! y/n, you have a tattoo?" lo'ak asked as he looked at your left leg. you just laughed at his silly question. of course, that's the first thing he asks you.
"she has two! there's one on this arm as well," kiri said, holding out your right arm so they could see the tattoo that you had there as well.
"no fair, mom, i want a tattoo." tuk said, whining to her mother. neytiri laughed at her daughter's statement and just pet her head, moving her braids out her face. "maybe when you're older, tuk," she said.
"babygirl," your father grabbed your attention. "i just want you to know that we are all so sorry for how we treated you before you past–" you cut your father off, shaking your head.
"it is in the past. the great mother may have returned my memories but it is me who gets to choose which ones to remember. i want to leave the past behind me. i have found a new home here. new peace. a found family who loves me dearly. i don't want you guys to feel like you have to atone to anything. eywa has given us a new start, so i think we should welcome it with open arms instead of trying to mend that has already been healed," you really had matured in your time away from the sullys.
they all looked at one another. if that was what you wanted, they would be sure to leave the past in the past so they can embrace the chance to make things right with you.
you stood, the rest of the sullys following. you walked back over to tonowari and ronal, pulling them into a hug.
"just because my memories have returned does not mean that you are not my family anymore. you have all helped and healed me from wounds that i did not know i had so i can only thank you, sempu, sa'nu. you guys are my found family and i would not trade you for the world." smiling up at your other parents. Wow, this is gonna get confusing, but you were more than excited to have two families.
you looked over and pulled ao'nung and tsireya into the hug as well. "you guys, too, thank you so much," you said to your siblings. they couldn't do anything but hug you back. you may not be their biological blood, but they could care less. you are now one of their people. ronal and tonowari will always see you as their daughter, and ao'nung and tsireya will always see you as their sister. you will always be family to them.
you and tsireya decided to guide the sully family to their new home, as ronal had allowed them to stay. you noticed that lo'ak was eying your sister up quite a bit and decided that you would tease him about it later. you were just happy to finally feel at peace. you finally had the family, the life you had dreamed of.
you couldn't do anything except thank eywa for all the good she brought into your life.
‘you're welcome, my child.’ it was the same voice that you heard earlier. when you realized that she was responding to your thanks, if you finally clicked whose voice you were hearing.
it was eywa.
she was with you. she had always been. throughout this journey, she made sure to stick by your side. that was something that you couldn't be more grateful for.
‘be free my child, allow nothing from here on out to hold you back. you are meant to live a happy life, and now you are able to do so.’

Secrets kept for another’s safety, until you lose it
Daryl Dixon • She/Her Pronouns • Some Saviors just can’t let go and go for what’s important to Daryl Dixon. But little did he know about more than losing his partner. • ANGST/SFW • TW: Pregnancy / Injuries / Anxiety Attacks / Blood loss

Just because the Saviors War is over, doesn’t mean it’s completely dealt with. People have their vendettas and everyone will forever be scarred by the actions of Negan, apart of the Saviors or not.
When Negan was taken to prison instead of hell, the group decided that it would be best to have shifts of their people to watch The Sanctuary until they’ve fixed everything. Or until they put someone in there for a more permanent position.
After a month in and it was Daryl and Y/N’s turn to watch the place. Both having their own imprisonment to the place because of Negan. So they weren’t all too happy to be back. But the night gave them time to themselves.
Which led them on the roof this night…
“What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” Daryl asks, putting the joint back to his lips watching Y/N finish putting up the last of their clothes on the clothesline. “You haven’t talked in a bit”
“Am I really that talkative?” She laughs softly, tossing the extra pins in the empty laundry basket. “I’m just enjoying the night with my husband. What else more could I ask for?”
“Could go dark on yea and say for Negan to be dead”
“Well you’re not the only one wanting that” Y/N sat on the stool while Daryl laid on a mattress they had brought up there. Neither of them want to live inside the walls anymore. “Can we just think toward the future?”
“We can” Daryl pushed himself to sit up, offering the joint to her as she shook her head. He stared a bit confused before shrugging it off. “Again, sunshine…what’s going on in that beautiful mind of yours?”
Y/N fell silent once more before looking out toward the woods trying to find a good start to what she wants to talk about.
“You remember when you first held Judith?”
“Lil’ Ass kicker, yeah?”
“Do you remember what you told me afterward? When you handed her off to Hershel?”
The confused look on his face gave her answer.
“You said I don’t think I’d be cut out for this if I were Rick.”
“Why are yea bringing that up now? Are you—-“
“No!…No…” Y/N visibly slumped. “It’s just. The threat is gone. We have a home that is ours. Walls to protect us from the dead…we could. Do it. Have a child. Have that future…”
Give Daryl some credit when he has thought about this before. Having a child with his wife…all of their love put into a single human being. But all the anxieties that came with that thought flooded his mind.
“I don’t wanna lose you like Rick lost Lori” For something that happened years ago, it still haunted him. Especially with the scares they’ve had before a true moment of peace came.
“Daryl…that…that was going to happen to Lori regardless…she had a c-section with Carl, any baby after that was bound to come out the same way. This would be a first for me. We could prevent the possibility of needing a c-section”
“But there’s still a chance. I…” Daryl stopped himself to avoid her eyes and hang his head not ever wanting to think about that possibility. But then again…what was he going to do? “I just can’t” he whispers which led Y/N to bring herself to his level and coax his gaze back onto her. “I can’t lose you…I…I’ve lost enough and everything about how I’d be a terrible father aside I won’t be able to raise our child alone if I lost you…I will always need you”
As much as it broke Y/N’s heart to know his feelings and to have to push aside hers because the last thing she would want is to lose or hurt her husband…the tears fell from her eyes as she presses her forehead against his.
“Okay. Okay…You won’t lose me. Ever. I’m here…just me” Y/N brought her arms around his shoulders bringing her face into the crook of his neck as Daryl wrapped his arms tightly around her holding her close.
The things you do for love will always be something…that will always be changing
About four months later…
Y/N finally emerges from the basement living she and Daryl live in under the Grimes’s residence. She gave a smile to Michonne who said “good morning” in her arrival watching her friend join her and Judith at the kitchen island.
“Think you can handle breakfast?”
“Yes, I think I finally got over that ill spell” Y/N took a seat at one of the barstools smiling to Judith beside her before drawing her attention to the quick footsteps making their descend down the stairs.
“Hey! You’re up here, how yea feeling? Yknow Daryl—-“
“Has been having you ask every day since I came back from the Sanctuary not feeling well. I’m doing okay. Better than before”
“Great to hear that, I’ll tell Daryl in person when I make my rounds to the other communities” Rick smiles approaching Judith who was happy to see her dad. “First thing, take this little one to the teacher to watch her while we’re all out”
Michonne gave Y/N a confused look as she tiredly turned to her lifting her head from her hand.
“I’m gonna work in the pantry. So I don’t feel entirely useless”
“You’re allowed to take it easy” Michonne was stern with her words which brought the confusion out of Rick’s expression while he picked up Judith heading toward the door.
“I think I’ll be fine” Y/N shot a stern look at her friend as Michonne instantly waited for the front door to close, ultimately for Rick to leave. “The baby will be fine”
“Y/N, when are you going to tell Daryl so this doesn’t have been a secret between you and I? You’ve mentioned about a conversation you had with him that doesn’t quite add up to the fact that you didn’t——“
“He doesn’t want to have a baby.” Y/N frowns forming fists as she had the habit of digging her nails into her flesh to avoid the crying. “He doesn’t want to have a baby with him and I promised I wouldn’t. But I still got knocked up. Now he’s going to lose me or I’m going to lose him” the tears came anyway as the frustration was obvious in the discomfort in her face which led Michonne to maneuver around the island to bring herself beside her friend letting her rest her head on her shoulder as her arms caged her. “All I wanted was a family with the man that I love but the factors of being good enough or dying unexpectedly just floods that man’s mind and hell I can’t blame him for any of it. But now I’m plagued with it while I carry his child”
The two didn’t hear the click of the door finally closing. All that mattered was Michonne comforting her friend until it was time for the day to get started.
“I’ll be helping Gabriel rebuild his chapel with a few Saviors we have taken in for rehabilitation to show they can do something good. We are thinking of making it also the leading to the farm” Michonne stated as she walked Y/N to the pantry. “So I will be around if you need me. I’ll also keep an eye on the saviors. I know what some of them have been saying but we haven’t come across one angry with Rick or Daryl or literally any one of us”
“Are you really trying to say you’re watching out for my safety when I’m gonna be confined to a chair and a notepad for the most part”
“Yes, yes I am. Plus…the infirmary is right next door and I know Siddiq is doing his inventory and preparing shipment of medical supplies we’ve found on the runs we had recently.”
“Michonne”
“Yes?”
“You’re rambling” Y/N laughs opening the door to let herself in. “I’ll holler if I need anything” she says halfway inside when Michonne quickly reminded her about the no heavy lifting which got a scoff out of the woman.
About an hour or two has passed and Y/N groans out of boredom while sitting on the stool in the pantry. She stared out the window watching people walk passed or the few groups carrying wood and metal around for the walls and new buildings. Inventory was done, restock of what they have was done, and she was about to get started on the shipment for the Kingdom when she heard the door open.
“Michonne I really don’t need you watching—-“ Y/N stopped speaking when she watched the unfamiliar man step in quietly, assessing the environment. “Uhm. Can I help you with anything?”
“I was told by that scary priest that we hold the extra building supplies in here on occasion when the shed ain’t organized” He stepped around the pantry looking for himself before looking at Y/N as she couldn’t shake this familiar feeling. “You’ve got nails? Maybe a better hammer than this shit?” The hammer she didn’t notice before only confused her on where he pulled it out from. But asides from that, Y/N got off the chair and went to grab such for him.
“How’s the construction going?”
“It’s going. That Rick guy has us doing a lot just has his woman bossing us around” He scoffs looking at the jarred goods they have while Y/N knelt down to carefully go through a box for a smaller box of nails. “How can you even do what Rick asks y’all to do?”
“Have you even met Rick? He does the right thing, most of the time” Keeping Negan alive was the wrong one.
As Y/N rose to her feet with the box of nails she watched the man pull off the Polaroids that were stuck to the window. Just for a better look but it made her uneasy thinking he was going to get rid of them.
“Family?” He questions lifting up the ones with Glenn and Maggie, watching Y/N nod as he fixated on one with her and Daryl before putting them back. “Find’em?”
“Yeah, here” She handed off the box hearing him thank her before stepping out. But before she could even straighten out the pictures and take a seat, Y/N didn’t hear the door close entirely.
It didn’t take long for what to happen, happen.
The second she rounded the corner…Y/N flinched slightly being up close to the man without a name. She looked down to find a few nails shoved deep into her side. The shock made the pain not come right away and she was still experiencing it while he drove them to the point he couldn’t.
“You are just as dumb as you were back when you were his wife.” He glares into the deep pits of her soul as Y/N lifted her head from watching the blood spill from her side. Her mind racing to one thing. “Rick shoulda killed him. Your bitch dog of a man shoulda killed him. Maybe even the sword lady. Anybody. Then you all would’ve been seen as stronger instead of weak ass beings.”
“I-…I—-“ Y/N felt the tears spill and he grabbed her face to make her force eye contact.
“Let me take you away from everybody and I’ll watch them suffer” then the man quickly removed his hand when he heard voices outside. He pushed her aside but the blood loss led it to be a bit more dramatic as she fell to her knees.
As he made his escape through the back, Y/N slumped against the wall hesitant to touch her side. But they weren’t in prime condition, they could have some traces of rust and she can’t afford an infection if she wants any chance of that surviving.
A few were hard to pull out and one was embedded deep that Y/N contemplated letting it stay in but she was already this far.
Baby.
Baby.
Baby.
Baby.
Daryl… Y/N sobbed as she used her knife to cut into her to pull out the last nail that was embedded deep. She had to stop the bleeding so she could go get help and knew she had towels in the other room out of the foyer. But the blood loss was too much that when her weak body crawled about halfway there, it gave out.
“Daryl”
“I know this shithole sucks but yea said you’d be here earlier” Daryl clearly was in a mood while working on his bike, and with Rick only crossing his arms with an annoyed expression after his words. He knew he shouldn’t have expressed all of that. “Sorry. I’m frustrated.”
“Did something happen?”
“No…” Daryl frowns fiddling with a tool in hand. “Y/N hasn’t radio’d me today. Michonne was gonna give hers to my girl so I can check up on her but nothin’”
“I’m sure there’s a good reason for that. Plus I’ve got uh…an update of my own regarding your wife” Now he had to be careful. He did hear everything in the kitchen that morning but Rick isn’t the best at de-escalating the situation.
But it felt like fate for him to be interrupted by his radio in that exact moment.
“Rick—-Are you with Daryl?”
“Gabriel? Yes, why?”
“Michonne—-Hilltop” his end was cutting out and the urgency only stressed the retired sheriff and huntsman. “Bleeding—-Stopped—-Other reasons—-Y/N”
“Gabriel. Who’s injured?!” Rick shouts annoyed as the silence grew for a moment.
“Y/N was found bleeding—-Attacked—-Go to Hilltop”
“Load up. Forget the bike” Rick stated even though the second Daryl heard it was confirmed to be Y/N, he went right into the driver’s seat of Rick’s truck. Rick quickly got in the passengers and didn’t wait another minute to tell Daryl.
The accident happened a few hours ago before Gabriel radio’d Rick. He only comm’d him as per request from Michonne to update him and to get Daryl on their current actions of getting Y/N to the Hilltop. For their ultrasound machine. The one from the Sanctuary got moved to the Kingdom to be repaired by a retired technician.
Y/N sat up in bed in the medical trailer not liking the feeling of the IV in her arm and the antibiotics Siddiq had her on. Made the sick feeling return and the nausea meds never worked on her.
“Daryl is on his way” Michonne frowns sitting in the chair beside her as Maggie sat at the edge of the bed with her hand rested on her calf. Both being protective of her in her current state.
“I didn’t get a name of the guy…”
“Hun we don’t have to do that now” Maggie assured her. “Aaron and Rosita are looking for the guy back home with the description you gave before they moved you here. We don’t have to talk about it at all and focus on you staying alive and healthy”
The tears returned as Y/N pulled her hand away so she could hide her face in them. As she sobbed she didn’t hear the sound outside of 1. The car stopping in front of the trailer. 2. Daryl shouting at a few people. And 3. The sound of a Hilltop resident screaming after Daryl shoved them out of his way to get inside the trailer. The second the door opened and his worry expelled from him, Michonne and Maggie got up from their spots moving so he could get close to his wife.
Michonne motioned for Maggie to leave with her as she instantly went to Rick to talk about the guy that attacked Y/N.
Daryl instantly wrapped his arms around her feeling her grab fists full of his vest, making him want to squeeze her but he instantly pulled away when she winced. He started to check her person himself even if Siddiq does a great job with his assessment after dealing with the main problem. He even checked her bandages watching the discomfort grow on her face along with a few tears still falling.
“Are you okay? What did that bastard do to yea? Is the peanut okay?”
“What?”
“Is the baby okay?” Daryl’s voice cracked when asking that question as it only made Y/N cry even more giving him mixed signals.
Someone told him she thought and as much as that brought relief, it brought a lot of regret and pain that she didn’t tell him herself.
As she pulls from his touch, Daryl watches her reach for the table beside the bed grabbing a piece of paper before returning and giving it to him. He carefully took it into his hands looking at the picture of the peanut that was very much still there. He exhales relieved, feeling his own tears spill and the softness of her hands gently wipe them away.
“I’m sorry—-“
“No.” Daryl cut her off setting the photo in her lap so he could take her hands into his. “I…I shouldn’t have said what I said months ago…I didn’t want to push you away ever if this were to happen. Cuz let’s be honest with ourselves, we fuck like bunnies. It was bound to happen” he broke out in a smile listening to Y/N laugh to his words. He planted a kiss on her cheek as she kept that smile of hers. “We…we can die to anythin’ and that shouldn’t stop us from living.”
“Daryl…”
“Let’s go home, sunshine. Let me protect the both of yea”
Daryl helped Y/N get in the car before approaching the small group that was fixated on the woman.
“There’s a lead”
“You know I’m not gonna hesitate to kill that guy” Daryl stated and instead of receiving the usual Rick talk about no need to go far he was genuinely confused. “What”
“I’m going to help you get the son of a bitch. He does want to take us out because of Negan”
“You’re willing to be bait?”
“If Rick gets hurt, your ass is next” Michonne threats with a smile before joining Y/N in the car giving them a bit more time to discuss then joining their partners.
The day progresses into the night and Daryl found the right moment to slip away from his spot beside his wife so he could leave the house to take care of business.
As the man climbs over the wall after hiding out until night, he stumbled on his landing and when he straightened up he was face to face with Rick.
“Seriously. Just let me go”
“I don’t think that’s gonna happen”
“Like you of all people will pull the trigger” He scoffs, making the mistake of reaching for his weapon because that led to a bolt piercing him in the side of the skull.
Rick watches the body fall limp to the floor before turning to Daryl emerging from the shadows.
“There’s gonna be more like him” Rick stated. “We won’t kill them all”
“Anybody, and I fucking mean anybody…who comes near my pregnant wife the way that guy did? Will meet the same fate”
And on that note, he returned back to his spot beside Y/N who instantly rolled over to face him and bring herself close.

i bet on losing dogs (t.o./k.c.)
a/n: i watched this film less than 48 hours ago and i'm already unwell. here is my kate and tyler angst but mostly kate! tyler was a moment but kate was the whole movie!
summary: Somewhere along the way, you end up in Kate and Tyler's orbit. They've got you. (tyler owens/kate cooper/female reader)
warnings: tornadoes, i'm from california cut me some slack, angst with a hopeful ending, nightmares, hurt/comfort, temporary character death
word count: 4.1k
Tumblr media
It’s by chance you ever end up in the path of the Wranglers and into Tyler and Kate’s lives.
They aren’t even looking for someone to help manage the team but even Boone and Lilly can admit that with the attention they’re getting, they need someone who can keep up.
So by chance, by luck, or all because of a tornado, Tyler ends up connecting with you through a friend of his from UA.
The job description is unorganized chaos, simply put. Managing the crew on a day to day basis is enough, not to mention helping them manage the finances, stay within legal code, managing the social media, and getting their foots in the door for grants and sponsors.
Boone’s convinced you’ll run screaming from the team all the way back to the city, Javi too, but it actually ends up to be a seamless fit.
You help Lilly and Boone with the sales, the production of merch, and all the channels. You’re even the one who sets up a Tiktok, their donations and attention increasing tenfold. You research grants and donors for Javi and Kate and you help Tyler source new equipment for the team.
When all is said and done, three months have flown by and Tyler is forever grateful you’d been blown into their path. You’ve blossomed with this crew and they’re changed because of it.
Not to mention the way you’ve grown into Kate and Tyler’s relationship. Although they never say it, unsure of how to fold you into their dynamic, you’re there in ways that complement their already existing chemistry.
Kate’s quite fond of you too, he knows. He would’ve seen it a million miles away, the way Kate’s eyes had sparkled meeting you, the way they do in the field. But she’d say the same about him, citing the way he goes soft for you in a way he’d only ever done for Kate.
The problem is - he still can’t figure out how you even managed to end up here.
“C’mon.” Javi says, nudging you. “How the hell does a city girl like you find her way to hell’s corner in Oklahoma, managing a bunch ragtag storm chasers?”
You shrug, fiddling with your beer bottle, glancing out at the group sat around the crackling fire. You and Javi are sat a top Ty’s truck, the crew looking intently at you. “You just asking or you really wanna know?”
The group breaks into various calls, corralling you into telling them.
“It’s kind of a long story.” You defend, a sheepish grin growing on your face.
Javi nudges your shoulder again. “C’mon, tell us. We barely know anything about you city girl.”
“A couple months ago, at the start of tornado season, I was in Texas, for a friends joint bachelor/bachelorette party. We were at a rodeo and I had gotten separated from the group. An EF4 hit the place out of nowhere and I wasn’t able to get back to the shelter in time. I’ve always been terrified of tornadoes, we don’t got ‘em where I’m from, but- that was something else.” You shake your head, shaking off the memories. “I should’ve died. It should’ve killed me, but it didn’t. And all I could think of was that I had been given a second chance, just barely. And what I was doing just didn’t make sense anymore.”
Boone lets out a low whistle as Javi’s hand finds your shoulder. Tyler can feel Kate tense in concern, his own brows furrowed.
“Within the week, I’d quit my job, got rid of all my stuff, dumped my boyfriend, and broken my lease. I didn’t know where the hell I was going but I knew I couldn’t stay there. I just needed to- to find somewhere, someplace, where I could do something tangible. I kept thinking that what I lived through was only a sliver of a glimpse into what y’all experience your whole lives out here and I- I just wanted to help.”
“So you found the Wranglers.” Lilly finishes and you nod.
“When I’d left town, I gave Lainey a call. Her and her fiancé had been the one hosting us at their ranch for the trip and asked Lainey if she knew of anything I could do, any place I could go. Next thing I know I’m on a plane to Oklahoma and some self-proclaimed tornado wrangler I’ve never heard of is picking me up from the airport.”
“Is this why you refuse to go storm chasing with us?” Boone calls out as Tyler sits up straighter in his chair, Kate shifting as he does.
“Hold on a damn minute.” He asks, the group falling silent. “Lainey’s fiancé, Smith, he’d been killed at a rodeo just this year.”
Your eyes are cautious when they meet his. “Smith gave his life for mine. He’s the one who got me to safety and he paid for it. I’ll spend the rest of my life making up for it.”
It goes silent in the group as you avert your eyes. After a few moments, you slide down the front of Tyler’s truck, chucking your beer in the trash.
“It ain’t your fault, you know.” Tyler calls out as you begin to walk away from the group.
You freeze.
“These tornados, they ain’t what they used to be. They take and take. Weather cares little of the price of human life.” Tyler says.
“Those reports you see on the news, they’re true. They’re getting worse every year, that’s why we’re out here. It’s why you’re out here.” Javi follows up as you turn back to face the group. “We’re gonna find a way, to make things better. We’ll never be able to stop the weather, not completely, but maybe we can find a way to keep up with it.”
“It’s okay to admit I’m not contributing much. I mean I don’t know shit about science and I don’t want to get near a tornado for the rest of my life. I’m-“
“Helping.” Kate protests. “You are. You might not think it but you are. We could barely do this on our own, we need you.”
You’re hesitant to accept Kate’s words for what they are but the group seems to be giving their consensus and Tyler’s beckoning you over to him and Kate.
“Listen,” He says, once you’re sat between him and Kate. “We might be the most ragtag bunch of hicks you ever met. But as this grows we ain’t never been able to do it without you. If we succeed, if we do this, you’ll have played no small part in it. You belong here.”
You spend the rest of the night tucked into Kate’s side the both of you quiet as the group carries on.
It’s only as the group is getting ready for bed, Tyler putting out the fire, Boone leaving to find a bush to pee in, that you speak.
“Sometimes I wonder why I got to live and he didn’t.”
Kate looks down at you. “You’ll drive yourself crazy if you go there you know. What you have that they didn’t. What you could do that they couldn’t.”
“Will it be enough?” You say but Kate has no answer for you.
Instead, she shifts upwards and away from you.
“You should really think about coming out with us sometime.” She says. “Tornados are terrifying but they’re sometimes the most beautiful things. The way they manifest, the way the world just changes. You should give it another shot.” She gives you a soft smile before leaning down to press a soft kiss to your head. “Night. Get some sleep.”
You lose track of how long you stare at the dying embers before Tyler comes back with another bucket of water to put the fire out for good.
“You couldn’t have saved him, you know.” Tyler says, setting the bucket down. “But you still have a chance to help us save others. You might not see it but we need you.”
You nod. “Thanks Ty.”
He gives you a smile. “Anytime kid. Get some rest. We’ve gotta get on the road bright and early tomorrow morning. And uh, think about changing your mind on doing some storm chasing why don’t you? There’s a whole world you’re missing out there.”
-
It’s late under the Oklahoma skyline. Your friends have either gone off to their motel rooms or are partnered up into their own conversations but you’re too comfortable to move away from Kate, wrapped around her side.
Your fingers brush up and down her skin, the dying fire crackling before you. As your fingers come to gently trace over her scar, you falter, smoothing your thumb over the skin.
“Can I ask?” You speak softly. “What happened?”
In the months that you’ve grown into this group, Kate has shared little of the story behind the scar. While you’re naturally curious, you know even more that it’s a missing piece to a girl and a relationship you’re still learning.
Kate’s eyes look up at you, firelight reflecting a soft something you can’t name. And then she sits, tugging on your hand.
She leads you to her shared room with Tyler, leading you inside as Tyler looks up from his phone he’s scrolling through.
It’s not unusual these days, to find yourself somewhere with these two. Whether it was curled up in their bed or around a fire or a diner table or in the back of a truck, you found yourself more and more drawn into their presence. The three of you were standing on the precipice is something and lately, it too often looked like you were the one hesitant to take the dive into uncharted waters.
You pause at the doorway, surveying them. “You sure?” Kate nods and you slip inside, shutting the door behind you. Kate nudges you towards the bed and you go, Tyler’s warmth radiating off of him as your back finds stability against his broad frame. Kate climbs in the bed next to you, careful to leave her legs intertwined with yours. You feel her hands reach around your body, hands grazing Tyler’s.
She licks her lips, breath shaky as her eyes flicker down to the faded tear of flesh.
“It was six or seven years ago now. This project we’re doing out here, the one you’re supporting, it all started because of what Javi refers to as my science project.” Tyler straightens as she talks. “We… we failed.”
“What do you mean?” You ask softly.
Kate’s eyes finally meet yours. “My friends, we were supposed to release the polymer into an EF1, maybe EF2. But- I was wrong. It was an EF5.” She screws her eyes shut. “I lost them one by one. The tornado took them from me and left nothing but devastation in its wake. The scar- it’s a reminder of them, of what I lost that day. The cost of what happens if I don’t get it right.”
“Kate.” Tyler says softly, a firm note hidden beneath it. Something in it tells you they’ve had this conversation before, that Tyler’s heard this story before.
You wrap your arms around Kate, tucking your head on top of hers. “You’ll get it right, Kate.” You whisper. “You’ve got this.”
-
The next morning finds you with a storm on the horizon.
You sit on the top of Tyler’s truck as he beams at you, hands on his hips. “So you coming or what, pretty lady?”
You smile at him, hands wrapped around the chipped mug Boone had lent you. Six months in the field and all you still really had to your name was your toothbrush and a pair of pajamas. “I don’t know, you promise not to drive me right into the middle of that tornado?”
Ty chuckles, shaking his head. “You’ve got my word. No fireworks or nothing. I’ll give you the best storm chase you’ll ever see.”
“Kate coming?” You ask, unable to stop the hopeful question from tumbling past your lips. He nods, though his grin falters.
“Javi too.”
You shrug, handing the now empty coffee mug to him as he offers you as hand to slide down his truck. “Just tell me when.”
No less than a half hour later, the four of you are in Tyler’s truck, cruising down an empty stretch of dirt road of an abandoned town. Your gaze is on the horizon before turning it back to the people in the van.
“So Javi, you never did tell me how you and Kate had met?”
A grin forms on his face. “Kate and I go all the way back, man. She was the OG storm hunter.”
You can see Kate smile in the rearview mirror, your eyes meeting. “They’ve got their own handshake.” Tyler comments, a teasing lilt to his voice.
“When do I get my own handshake?” You comment, chancing a glance back out the truck. “Holy shit, that’s what we’re chasing after?”
“She’s gorgeous ain’t she?” Tyler roars, the truck speeding up.
“I never thought I’d see something like this.” You breathe, eyes going wide. “There’s so little sky to see in the city. Here’s that’s all there’s to see.”
You can’t see the grin Javi is giving you, wonder taking over your features as you crane your head to look closer. “Yeah, you’re going to be sticking around a while.” He says softly. “You’ve fallen for the charm.”
“Ty.” Kate says sharply, tilting her monitor. “Do you see that?” Tyler peers out into the distance where she’s pointing. The car rolls to a stop as them and Javi start using words you don’t understand.
“What? What’s happening?”
“Do we got time to get back?” Javi says, pulling his seatbelt off.
Tyler shakes his head, pressing his seatbelt buckle as he presses another button on his truck. “No, we gotta get low. Now.” His door flies open, and you follow suit, shouting to Kate as you do, asking what’s happening.
She grabs your hand as the wind begins to pick up around you. “I was wrong.” She says. “It’s gotta be an EF3, at least. We’ve gotta get down.”
“Kate! Do you see any places?!” Tyler shouts, ushering the two of you away from the car.
She pauses, scanning the area. “There!” She shouts, pointing to a storm grate a bit farther out more towards the main road. The four of you take off, but it’s obvious you can’t keep up. The wind rages as you feel your ankle twist. The collision to the dirt hurts less than you think it’s going to as the panic in you reaches its peak.
You’re going to die here.
“No, you ain’t.” Tyler says over the wind, arms coming up to support your under your armpit.  “Not on my watch.”
Another set of arms lifts you up, as Kate shouts to follow her. The boys carry you the best they can but your eyes are blurry with panic. Kate takes you from them, helping you over to the storm grate.
“Kate, I don’t- I don’t want to die.”
“Just hold on to that.” She says firmly. You do as instructed, laying on the ground. Tyler’s body follows yours, clutching onto the grate over your body. His body covers your own, sheltering you from the worst of the weather.
It’s only then you realize you’re shaking, from the wind or the rain or the freezing terror, you’ll never know.
“Stay down.” Tyler bellows over the wind. “Stay low and hold on.”
You whimper, clutching tighter to the grate as the storm’s power increases overhead. “I’ve got you.” Tyler says, Kate repeating his words.
You aren’t sure in the haze when it all stops, just that you can’t stop shaking and the tears rolling down your face won’t end. Kate’s fingers are around yours, gently prying them from the grate as she runs a soothing hand through your hair.
“Are you hurt?” Tyler asks bending down next to you as Kate gets the last of your fingers off of the grate. Your shoulders are shaking, unable to stop the sobs wracking your body enough to answer.
“You’re safe.” Kate whispers. “You’re safe, we’ve got you I promise.”
And yet all you can do is cry. You feel Tyler tentatively reaching out for you, looking over your body for an injury he might’ve missed. His hands pause underneath the Wrangler sweatshirt you’re wearing, hesitating before they slip under. When they come back clean, he pulls you to your feet.
“I’m going to carry you back to the truck.” He says cautiously. You feel him lift you up and your hands find purchase in his shirt. “I’ve got you. You’re safe.”
By the time you reach the truck, the tears have stopped, drying in tracks on your face. “Kate.” You say softly, as Tyler sets you in the back of the truck. He glances over his shoulder, where he can see Javi presumedly comforting Kate.
“She’ll be here in a minute. You okay?”
You nod. “Just- just shaken up. I panicked and flashed back I guess. What’re the odds you almost get killed by a tornado twice?”
Tyler shakes his head. “You stick around here long enough, it’ll happen more than that. Look, we were all gonna head back to town tonight anyways. Why don’t you come back to Kate and I’s? I don’t think she’ll want you to leave her sight and I don’t want you to be alone.” You nod as Ty’s thumb reaches up to rub away some of the dirt. “You’re okay. We got you. We’ll take care of you.”
Kate returns to the truck a few moments later, wrenching the other side of the back open. “You okay?” She asks softly, climbing in next to you.
You nod. “What were you and Javi talking about?” She glances at the man before shaking her head.
“Nothing. Say, do you want to come back to Ty and I’s place? We’ll get your ankle all fixed up, some clean clothes. It’ll be a couple days before we’re out on the road again. Give you a chance to regroup?”
You nod. “That would be nice. I’d like that.”
She smiles softly, reaching out for you. “We got you.”
-
You’re tucked up under Kate and Ty’s comforter, the fan on low as your fingers find purchase in the soft material.
“Kate? It ain’t your fault.”
Your head peeks up at the low voices on the stairs.
“It is.” Kate says lowly. “It is my fault. How many times is it going to take for me to learn? She could’ve died.”
“But she didn’t.” Tyler insists. “Aside from a sprained ankle, she’ll be fine. She’ll be on the road with us in just a few days, scheduling more presentations and fancy grant sessions than we know what to do with. Fact of the matter is she’ll probably be on the phone with Lilly tomorrow morning bright and early about new designs for like, keychains or something.”
Kate sighs. “I can’t afford to get it wrong this time.”
“You’re not going to.” Tyler says, the stairs creaking, meaning he’s probably moving closer to her. “She trusts you Kate.”
“At what cost? They trusted me then too.”
“There’s no price to be paid here Kate. She trusts you, this team. She’s got us, the same way we got her.” Tyler sighs. “Let’s just get to bed okay? I wanna be next to my girls.”
Something stirs in your chest at the way he says girls as in plural but you’re too tired and strung out to dissect it. Kate slips into the bedroom a minute later, Tyler not far behind her. She climbs into the bed next to you, quick to climb under the comforter. Tyler follows suit on your other side.
“We got you.” She whispers, but this time, you think she may be assuring herself more than you.

This was wrong. Something was wrong here.
It almost felt, like in some weird haze, she’d lived this day before.
This was definitely wrong.
“Kate, c’mon! Help us!” Javi shouts. She breaks from her reverie, running to the boys to grab you from them.
“I don’t want to die. Kate, don’t let me die.”
But it’s some ill-fated prophecy, the way she keeps failing, because the minute the boys let go, you’re gone.
Your screams pierce through the air as all she can do as watch.
The wind comes to a stop, it all falling still around them as the boys stand there in horror.
“What did you do?” Tyler asks lowly. “What did you do Kate?!”
She freezes, unable to understand what just happened.
“How do you keep letting this happen? How do you keep failing? How come you can’t get it right when it matters?” Tyler’s shout grows.
A breeze kicks up again, a torn, bloodied Wrangler sweatshirt coming to lay at her feet.
She’s going to be sick.
“It’s your fault Kate!” Tyler’s harsh yell comes as she stands there, rain and wind whipping around her. She stares numbly at the spot where you had just been, the only thing left being the sweatshirt, feeling her fingers clench around nothing.
You had been gone in a matter of seconds, slipping through her fingers like smoke.
“No, but I-“ She licks her lips. “No, it can’t-“
It can’t end like this.
“Yes, Kate, yes it is!” Tyler yells, coming closer to her now. “It’s your fault that’s she’s gone! It’s her blood on your hands! It’s your fault she’s dead, just like all the others!” Tyler shouts, pacing closer to her. She flinches, raising her hands to cover her ears to block out his yells.
“Owens, stop.” Javi calls out but it all sounds muddy as she squeezes her eyes shut, willing for this to be over.
Behind her eyes, she could still see the terrified look in your eye, the way you had pleaded with Kate to not let you die. The scream you’d let out as the wind had pulled you away from her.
Suddenly, there’s a hand on her, wrenching her wrist away from her ear.
“It’s your fault she’s gone. It will always be your fault.”
Her eyes fly open, mouth around a scream.
-
Kate’s scream shatters any illusion of silence in the house as both of your heads whip towards the bedroom.
You’ve barely had a chance to rise from the table, where you’d sat with Ty in the morning light, Tyler moving closer to the bedroom, when Kate’s rushed footsteps pound against the creaky staircase and round the corner.
Her eyes are wild with fear but her body sags in relief at the sight of you. She pulls you to her chest, all but collapsing into your embrace, a sob escaping her chest.
Tyler’s brow is furrowed in concern, at least what you can see of him over Kate’s shoulder. One hand stays wrapped around her waist, the other coming to rake your nails gently under Kate’s sleep shirt as she continues to sob.
“It’s all my fault. I knew the storm was going to be too big- but I-“
You shush Kate, continuing her movement. “I’m okay, Kate, it’s okay.”
“It’s not!” She shouts, wrenching herself away from you. She wipes at her eyes with the back of her hand sniffling as she does. “It’s not okay! I could’ve gotten you killed!”
“Kate, it’s not your fault.” You try to soothe, taking a step closer to her but all that does is prompt a fresh round of tears.
“Yes, it is.” She nods sadly. “Yes, yeah it is. It was my fault then and it would’ve been my fault now too.”
You shake your head, closing the distance she’s tried to create between the two of you. “No, it’s not Kate.” You say firmly. “It wasn’t your fault then and no one blames you for those losses. It wouldn’t have been your fault yesterday and I wouldn’t have blamed you either. The weather we chase is unpredictable and ever-changing. Loss is the name of the game we play.”
She heaves a breath, her shoulders shaking. “You’re not an acceptable loss.”
“Kate, if I had died yesterday, I would’ve died knowing you and Ty had done everything you could’ve to keep me safe.” You cup her cheek, brushing away a few tears as you do so. “You did everything you could’ve for your friends back then too.”
“I couldn’t save them.” She croaks. “I couldn’t save you.”
You crowd her space, nudging her nose with your own. “Hey, you know you did, right? You saw the signs. You knew to take shelter, where to hide. You did save me. The part that matters isn’t that you could’ve failed but that you didn’t.”
Kate’s forehead meets your own, her hand finding your fingers. “I- Please don’t leave.” She whispers. “Please don’t leave me.”
You feel breathless at her request, at the desperation in her tone. Your eyes meet Tyler’s.
“I’m not going anywhere.” You whisper back. “I’m here Kate. We’re here.”

"can i help you with something?" you ask sun in muffled amusement one day, eyes glued to the tablet in your hands. the last kid at the daycare had finally been picked up, leaving you to do your end-of-day inventory check in preparation for tomorrow.
"hm?" sun feigns ignorance, lanky body casting your own in his shadow as he hovers over you at your side. "with what?" a tone of innocence lines his voice, but you know he is anything but.
you look up to give him a deadpanned stare, metallic fingers pinching gently at your cheek and pulling slightly in a way that makes your mouth stretch. "oh, i don't know," you start in a lighthearted manner, "do you need your fingers oiled again?"
sun tugs at your cheek a bit harder and you swat at his arm, but he doesn't relent. "mmmmnope! joints are in tip-top shape!"
"well can you stop pinching my cheek?" you roll your eyes and are forced to lower your tablet when his other hand comes up to pinch and pull at your other cheek, too. it makes him crowd further into your space, his lithe form moving to cover your front as his head bends over your significantly smaller body.
sun only hums again and you're forced to adhere to his whims for the time being. you know you won't be able to pry him away, robot strength be damned. "i can't help it! you're so... squishy."
"well, yes." you snort to yourself and squint your eyes closed as he pulls at your skin as though it's made of playdough. spoiler alert, it's not. "human being, remember? not durable robot?" you emphasize the word in an attempt to get him to stop, but he ignores it. you huff, and when you feel your cheeks start to ache from his ministrations, you complain. "sun, c'mon, you're acting like my grandma at holidays. stop it."
sun lets out a little click that makes you peek up at him through your eyelashes. his head has tilted to the right, and a twitch of his smile is all the warning you get before he forces himself further into your personal space.
"ooh look how much you've grown!" sun coos down at you in an impression of someone elderly, thumbs rubbing into your cheeks. it makes you huff, but you resign yourself to his teasing. hopefully he just needs to get it out of his system. "my baby is so big now! adorable! gorgeous! they grow up so fast!" he releases one of your cheeks so he can pretend to wipe a tear from one of his white eyes. you internally celebrate at the relief and quickly lift your hand not holding your tablet to cover your aching cheek. his head tilts to the left at the loss, but he's still got his fingers pinching at the other side of your face. you're not sure how much of this you can take.
"sun, buddy, you're killing me over here," you manage to get out, ears tinged red at all his attention. his grin seems to widen.
"i remember when you were just a wee thing!" sun continues in a voice that's a pretty spot on imitation of someone in their later years. "dancing around, pretending to marry that little toy you had. tell me sweetie, do you have any special person in your life, hm? any lover? am i gonna have any grandbabies running around soon?"
a flush crawls up your neck at his words and you halfheartedly glower up at him. honestly, what the hell? where is this even coming from? sun only finds delight in your glare, however, if the way his rays spin around is any indication.
"dude," is all you manage to say. it makes his eyes upturn into crescents. "knock it off— ow! hey, that hurts!" he'd given your cheek a particularly rough tug and it makes something drop in the pit of your stomach. you watch with wide eyes as he lowers himself until his face is mere inches from yours, dark with the shadows from the fluorescent lighting above.
"well?" sun whispers to you, all the mirth and delight gone from his voice as though they had never been there in the first place. you swallow heavily and suddenly feel very, very uneasy. his smile stretches farther along his face, unnatural and thin. "do you?"

too fuckin long, so sorry about that, but enjoy a 3k word count poolverine hurt/comfort ficlet from the prompt idea i posted
my writing skills suck a bit and i wrote this on my phone but i did my best. enjoy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Logan’s woken up in alleyways, face down, with clothes torn from a brawl he instigated and the glass bottles he’d fallen onto. Sometimes, if he’s lucky, he wakes up slumped over a table in the back of a bar because the owner was too afraid to tell him to leave.
Afraid of his claws or just his name.
The buzz of alcohol never stays long, even with high proof liquor, but the tiredness of a fucked up life still lingers for awhile more after several bottles of booze.
So waking up exhausted isn’t new. It's about the only way he’s woken up for a long time.
And that’s what Logan expects, slowly coming back to consciousness.
Exhaustion. Some hard surface. Hopefully most of his clothes intact.
One eye begrudgingly cracks open.
Yup, definitely a little fucked up. His joints ache deep into the bone and his head is cotton-y.
But… Nothing feels hard or sharp beneath him. In fact, he feels… comfortable.
Huh.
Turning just a bit, he finds his face buried in softness. It smells lived in; skin, spilled food, a hint of… gunpowder? And, after a moment, he hears the soft sound of music- too quiet to be bar music but not muffled enough to be from a building he isn’t inside of.
Huh.
“Mmm.” Using his forearms, Logan props himself up just enough to leave the softness and get a look around him.
Not an alley. Not a bar. Not even a cheap, seedy motel.
A house- er, an apartment more likely. And he’s sprawled, a moment ago face down, on top of an old couch with a blanket over him and pillow under him. Neither the couch nor the general space is all that large, he’s practically spilling off the furniture, but everything feels warm and lived in. Home-y, if a little messy.
There isn’t anyone else here- the living room, a good guess- but noises, once he registers them, coming from an adjacent room says he isn’t alone. The soft music seems to filter through from there as well.
Logan flips himself over, a bit too groggy to be elegant about it, and rubs the sleep from his eyes. The feel of gritty grime on his face, more than he usually gets after a night drowning in alcohol, confuses him.
And then-
His head slumps back into the pillow and he groans. “Fucking hell.”
The TVA. The Time Ripper. The Void.
The red spandex-ed asshole who stole him from his timeline.
… Who, after everything, took him home, here, introduced him to his blind roommate- Althea, if he recalls- and offered him a place to stay and sleep for a while. And, vaguely remembering being too tired to shower, who also gave Logan some clothes to sleep in.
Groaning, only half heartedly after remembering the comforts offered and taken, Logan pulls back the blanket and, likey for the first time, actually checks to see what he’s wearing.
A gray, “I eat cement” T-shirt and blue, rubber duck shorts.
Yeah, that seems about right.
He huffs, but sits up to get his elbows onto his knees and scrub more of the sleep away from his face. Instant regret again. Both he and Wade- battle worn and disgusting- had forgone a shower in favor of just near instantly passing out. He is fucking gross; dirt, blood, and god knows what else covering him in a disgusting layer.
Logan feels a pang of shame for getting onto their couch with this much dirt and sweat coating him- maybe he can wash the blanket and pillowcase as an apology- but a clattering from the room with the music recatches his attention. The volume of whatever song is playing- a woman singing, pleasantly raspy- increases afterward.
Too interested to ignore whatever’s going on, Logan gets up to stand- with only a small groan, thank you- and, after a quick, satisfying stretch, slowly pads over to the doorway. Nothing outright sounds or feels dangerous, but from his experience and especially after the past few days, the need for caution can’t be shaken.
He must still not be fully awake, because the smell hits him only a few creeping steps from the doorway; pepper, eggs, something a bit burnt.
Food.
God, he didn’t realize how hungry he was until now. Even the burning smell is appetizing.
Popping his head in, the sight inside startles him awake completely.
With “I <3 hot dads” shorts, a red apron, and fucking crocs on his feet, Wade shifts around in front of the kitchen counter, swaying to the song he has playing from a radio somewhere. The place is a complete mess of egg shells and plates, but the table has a, rather large, plate of scrambled eggs, another plate of half burnt toast, and an assortment of other breakfast items. The smell of coffee also hangs in the air. And for the first time, maybe since knowing the man- and when he wasn’t unconscious- Wade is happily content not saying a word. He simply turns a toaster, with a fucking butter knife stuck into it, this way and that, and shakes it like he wants information from it.
It’s jarringly warm, and domestic.
Logan is again thrown for a moment.
When was the last time he woke up to clean clothes- even though he himself is gross as hell- the softness of a pillow, to the smell and sight of another person cooking breakfast in a kitchen?
Ever?
That sounds pathetically sad and incorrect, but in the doorway, watching it happen in real time, Logan feels lost and a bit raw.
Lucky for him though, Wade is still an annoying fuck and pulls him from his thoughts.
Like he sensed the presence of the other man half lingering in the doorway, Wade looks back at him and smiles wide. All bright teeth. No mask.
“Well, good morning Peanut! Did ya sleep well? I don't know about you but I think being torn apart and put back together finally got rid of the knot in my back. God, I slept like Al after she goes through waaay too many little baggies.” He motions over to the table with his chin. “I made some eggs and toast if you want. A true triumphant heroes’ breakfast! Hopefully you like them both a bit overdone. And there’s a pot of coffee over there.” He gestures to a machine on the counter now. “You can literally just drink from the pot if you want. Caffeine does not work on me, funnily enough. We don’t have creamer but there’s milk in the fridge and sugar next to the coffee maker…”
Wade goes on to babble about everything and nothing and, while Logan cannot count the number of times he’s wanted to stab the man for not shutting up, he can’t find the want to be actually irritated.
Not in the face of food, and coffee, and just… comfort.
Speaking of…
Logan clears the lump in his throat. “Thanks.” It’s all he can think to say, but he means it, even with the rough rumble of his morning voice.
Which Wade seems to find fascinating.
“Holy shit! How the fuck does your voice get even deeper? God, you would make a killing as a erotic audio book reader. Millions probably.” Wade flashes a flirtatious look before he turns back to the toaster and continues to mumble to himself, or perhaps the broken machine.
Logan huffs, but the call of coffee is stronger than his need for a comeback. The whole pot is grabbed per the offer, the sugar too, and now standing in front of the table he finds himself hesitating. No spots are occupied and nothing says ‘preferred seat’, but Logan can’t help but pause. ‘Make yourself at home’ feels like the unsaid, unfamiliar offer he can’t accept as easily as the coffee.
It feels too easy- another pathetic thought- and he can’t help but feel like he isn’t awake yet, and the reality of a cold, pavement bed will greet him if he gets too comfortable…
“Stupid fucking piece of metal crap!” Wade hisses, followed by the sound of the knife stabbing into the toaster.
Nope, probably not a dream. Logan is not a creative enough person to come up with something like this.
God, so just… sit, you fucking moron.
Picking a chair facing away from the toaster killer, Logan sets the coffee pot down- on a mat he also picked up, he isn’t an asshole- and settles in.
He feels awkward, like a kid at his first sleepover, but the eggs are there in front of him and his stomach is starting to growl. Awkwardness can wait until after a few bites, at least. There’s a lack of something important on the table though. After a quick glance around the plates and cups, and not finding anything, he looks over to Wade who seems to be completely brawling with the toaster now.
Wincing at the sight, and before he can rethink his decision, Logan clears the remaining sleep from his throat and uses that to draw the other man’s attention.
“Do uh, do you got a fork or somethin’?”
“Ah fuck, that’s what I forgot!” Wade sets, or slams really, the toaster down and moves over to a drawer, then rooting through it. “Didn’t run the dishwasher either and all the good forks are in it. Fuck…” He mumbles something else too, but lets out a triumphant ‘ha!’ when he pulls out two forks, one a little more bent than the other.
He skips, almost, over to Logan and presents the utensils. “Here you go Peanut, pick your favorite!”
Grabbing the more bent fork, Logan nods a silent thanks and begins slowly transferring eggs from the larger plate to one of the smaller, empty ones. Wade, satisfied with the choice, simply sets the other fork onto the table and goes back to the counter, and that damn toaster.
But before brawling again, he calls back, “Help yourself to as much as you want Babygirl! You deserve it for all your sexy hero work!”
Logan huffs again but grabs one of the toaster’s victims, once he’s gotten a fair amount of egg, and takes a bite of the slightly over cooked toast and just… enjoys.
The moment is pretty… nice.
Warm food. Morning sun from the window- god, he doesn’t even know that time it is. Wade isn’t quiet, hardly ever is, but he’s not overly inane or loud right now.
It’s all… good.
So… What does it?
An old memory, like deja vu, from another place and time with other people? The still lingering, ghostly sensation of his own body shredding and healing, just below his skin? Wade grumbling at the counter over the broken toaster, like a strange picture of domestic living?
It could be anything, everything.
But all he knows is that it’s twisting into something else. Something darker, and sharper, and cold.
Logan starts to tremble in his seat and the fork in his hand damn near snaps in his grip. The bite of food in his mouth tastes like blood- no, it is blood. He’s bitten into his tongue. His heart is racing, and something is tight in his chest, too tight and still tightening. Crushing.
Air isn’t breathable. His lungs won’t let it in.
Whatever stupid song is playing now is muffled by a white hot pulsing between his ears.
… He knows this.
Panic.
This is panic.
Of all the times to break, after days of one problem after another, pain after pain, this is when it happens? Now? While he’s sitting in Wade fucking Wilson’s kitchen, wearing his worn-soft clothes and eating at his table and listening to some soft song on the radio?
Yes, it is.
Pathetic.
Fucking pathetic.
He can’t focus anywhere anymore- it’s too much, too overwhelming, too fucking stupid to reason with- and burning nausea is creeping up his throat.
He’s spiraling. He’s breaking. And he can’t find the fight to beat himself out of it.
Perhaps that’s the reason he doesn’t hear the increasingly desperate ‘Logan?’s behind him or the quick footsteps moving towards the table.
He does startle, however, at a sudden touch to the side of his skull, making him gasp.
His claws gouge the surface of the table and knock over a half-filled water cup but, remarkably, they don’t thrust into the sudden presence pressing to his side.
It takes a good minute to process the situation, much slower than it usually takes him. But he feels the warmth of another person and the pressure of a hand on his head and his head is bent at an odd angle-
Wade, his mind breathes. This is his scent- gunpowder, spandex, and his own strange, unique smell. The touch to the back of his skull is his hand and the press to his cheek is the exposed skin below his shirt.
He’s cuddling him.
Uh-
And because it’s what he does best, Logan rages.
“The fuck are you doing?!” Logan snaps, and he yanks his head back from the other man’s grasp. Or, at least, he tries to.
“Eeeasy Peanut,” Wade hushes, not relinquishing Logan’s head. It's easy to forget the teasing, ridiculous man is incredibly strong. The battle lasts all of two seconds, and Wade’s stubbornness takes the victory. Logan’s cheek presses back to his hip and stays there under the weight of his hand.
“Easy, easy, easy…” Wade mumbles. He hesitates, only for a moment. “Vanessa did this… when shit got really bad.”
He’s quiet. He doesn’t elaborate. He doesn’t have to. The meaning and weight of the softly spoken words are enough.
There’s a growl starting to rumble in his chest and while he wants to fight against Wade harder- he doesn’t need sentimental crap or, god forbid, pity- Logan takes a breath just long enough to pause here in the moment, and let’s himself feel.
Wade’s hand is cradling his skull and his fingers are threaded through his hair. The weight of them is firm, but not crushing. No, they’re gentle. And they press his cheek and temple into Wade’s side, where the dip of his waist is. Even at the odd angle his neck is bent to, the shape of the dip fits to his face near perfectly and, if obliged to stay here, he would be comfortable. Wade’s body heat- much like his own, running high due to constant cellular regeneration- seeps into him. Into his skin, and then his flesh, and then his bones, settling deep into his chest.
All of it, it… helps.
The revelation startles Logan.
The weight and solidness of Wade is grounding; constant, steady pressure. His warmth slowly relaxes the painful tightness behind Logan’s ribs. Even his smell- showered now, likely before he started cooking, still strange but not unbearable- settles his mind just because it’s there.
Wade… is anchoring him.
Maybe he really should fight this harder, or be annoyed at the coddling, or pissed just because he’s being handled at all, but Logan can’t keep a grip on any of the feelings. He can’t stop the calm that pulls him in and brings him down. It’s so- He’s feels so-
… When was the last time he was held?
Not fucked by nameless faces, or hanging on to another person for dear life, or punch near through the stomach- Held.
Was it before- God does it hurt.
… Was it before, when he had his fellow mutant friends and family? Before that?
After?… Definitely not.
Warmth, gentleness, nothing of the kind was what he deserved afterwards. He could never reward himself with something he never showed, and no one offered it to him regardless.
Logan shudders, his breath likely teasing Wade’s skin but, if the other man feels it, he blissfully leaves the fact be.
Wade- warm, solid, annoying as hell Wade- who breaks his train of thought, unaware of it. “Better right? When Vanessa first did this, waaay back in the storyline, I fucking melted like a kid’s ice cream. It’s like the guilty, trauma victim’s morphine.” He pauses, and there’s a grin to his words now. “I also ate her out that first time, but we can wait to do that until the second mental breakdown session, Babygirl.”
Yup. There it is. Asshole.
But Logan just, non-committedly hums, although it's more of a grumble. Yeah, Wade will probably be insufferable after this, smug and a whole new level of too comfortable touching him, but right now, right here, he’s calming.
He’s- something Logan can’t quite name. Or at least, he’s unwilling to.
Call Logan weak, call him pathetic- because he truthfully is, just below the storm in his skin- and like hell does he actually deserve this, but he’s gonna savor it for as long as he possibly can.
Seconds pass, or maybe hours, and the gentle massage of Wade’s fingertips to his scalp continues during it before his hand slides away from Logan’s hair onto his shoulder.
The loss of that contact against his head is disappointing-a private thought- but when Wade shifts like he’s about to move away the disappointment quickly morphs into panic.
He isn’t ready to let go.
He isn’t ready for Wade to leave.
With pure, unthinking action, Logan latches onto the fabric of Wade’s shorts just below the hip he isn’t leaning against. He fists the material into a ball, like he’s afraid the other man will just disappear if he doesn’t hold tight enough.
Like he really is going to wake up, and be alone again with only the memory of coffee and warmth.
Embarrassment quickly reddens his face once he understands what he’s done but, instead of releasing Wade, Logan turns his face into his hip to hide. Clenching his eyes shut for extra precaution.
Weak. Pathetic.
Wade is quiet, his hand hovering above Logan’s shoulder after it was started off but, just as Logan is about to relinquish his hold of the man- he can't bear the unnerving stillness of him- Wade surprises him again.
Quick but gentle, Wade cups the back of Logan’s head and neck, turns ever so slightly to the side, and presses Logan’s forehead to the cushion of his stomach. And just lets the other man stay against him, as he rubs his head and shoulders.
Logan cries a small sound he’s never heard himself make before- something wounded, and relieved, and ragged- but he can’t be bothered to care. Not right now. He releases his death hold on Wade’s shorts and wraps his arms around the other man’s thighs, as flush against him as he can be in their current positions. His hold might be too tight, edging on painful most likely, but Wade doesn’t complain. Doesn’t do anything except this… hold him.
Thank you, thank you, thank you…
“Of course, big guy. Whatever you need.”
Ah, he said that out loud.
… He’ll care about that later. Logan will be pissed, and embarrassed, and in denial at some point, but it’ll all be later. When Wade isn’t cradling him or murmuring soft words. When he isn’t cooking warm food or listening to music on the radio.
When he isn’t making him feel like, for the first time in a long time, he’s allowed to have kindness.
Fucking… Wade.
"Babe, am I ugly?"
The question made you violently scoff as you scribbled notes on your grocery list. You didn't bother to look up, you could hear the slight playfulness in Eddie's voice. Yet, you weren't quite sure what he was getting at. "Of course not! Why the hell would you think that?"
He leaned forward to his elbows on the kitchen table next to you. "'Cause you act like you don't want to look at me half the time."
Your pen hovered over the paper for a moment before you stole a quick two second glance at him.
Yep, his face was smug as ever. He was picking on you.
You looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You literally just did it," He badgered. "Come on, I don't bite."
"Much," You replied.
He barked a laugh. "Okay, I promise not to bite at all if you just look at me for… I don't know, thirty seconds."
"Ed's, come on, I'm busy." You could feel an anxious knot tightening in your gut.
"Why won't you do it?"
You closed your eyes. "I can't. You know I get nervous."
"I know, I know, and I really love that about you," He pulled his chair up close to yours and gently rested his warm hand on your thigh. "But I also love your cute little face and pretty eyes looking at me. You don't do it often enough."
You sighed, feeling the tug of war in your brain. His eyes were pretty too, and you always thought the shape of his nose was adorable. You wanted to stare at him more, you really did. But to have him staring right back at you? That made you feel the most vulnerable. It was intimidating, really.
Eddie could sense your quiet discomfort. He hooked his hand under your knee and pulled your leg to drape over his. "The eyes are the very windows to the soul," He drawled in a deeper tone as if he were DMing, making you smile. He leaned in close. "And, m'lady, your eyes have everything that my own soul thirsts for."
You couldn't help but giggle, shaking your head at his antics. He always tried flattery just to see you get flustered.
"Come on," He purred with a smile, putting a hand to your opposing cheek. "Can you be good and look at me, sweetheart?"
The war in your mind froze, like Eddie had taken the remote and pushed pause on your thoughts.
Be good.
You wanted that. You really wanted to make him proud.
Slowly, you let your head be turned by the pressure of Eddie's fingers on your cheek. However, even when facing right at him, you simply stared sheepishly down at his chest biting on your lip.
"Good job," He hummed, his thumb stroking your cheek slowly. "Just a little more, pretty girl. You're so close, just look up at me."
You started to, getting to his neck, his chin… then hesitated. Your own neck was going tense, joints freezing up without your consent. Letting out a breath of defeat, you leaned forward and collapsed into his neck with a groan.
"Oh nooo," Eddie trilled, putting his hand to the back of your head. "Princess, you were so close! Am I really that scary?"
You shook your head, nose nuzzling into the smell of his skin and cologne.
"Can we try again? Just one more time?" He asked, leaning his head down to your ear. "I know you can do it."
"Do I have to?"
"I mean… I suppose not," He droned, "But if you're a good girl, you'll get a reward."
Your posture stiffened slightly at the offer, knowing what the reward would be, then you slowly pulled yourself upright again. You inhaled deeply, really trying to hype yourself up.
"Don't hurt yourself now."
"Shut up!" You laughed hitting him in the chest you were still staring at. "I'm really trying here."
He tilted his head. "Want me to help?"
"How?" You asked, looking downward at your fidgeting hands.
"Easy. All I gotta do is…." He slipped a finger under your chin, tilting your head up slowly to angle right at him.
Then pursed your lips and snapped your eyes shut.
"Aww, you're just being difficult now, aren't you?" He condescended, "Don't want to be a good girl for me? Huh? Don't you want me to reward you?"
For some reason, that was the kicker. A spark of defiance forced your eyes open at a moment's notice. Eddie's dark irises held tiny reflections of yourself in them as well as a little sparkle that was painfully and wholeheartedly him.
"There you go!" His expression lit up with joy as he sandwiched your head in his hands. He held on as if he was trying to keep your head from falling off. "That was all you needed, huh? A little positive reinforcement…. Oh, you're doing such a good job looking at me. God, I love your eyes."
"Shush or I'm not going to be able to hold it," You giggled, butterflies relentlessly tickling your stomach.
He shook his head as he grinned. "No, no, I'm going to make you hold it. This is too good…. Like looking at the stars themselves."
You caught yourself breaking eye contact again, but this time to look down at his soft plush lips.
"Ah, ah," Eddie tapped the side of your head with his finger. "Eyes back up here."
Although begrudgingly, you obeyed. "Eddie…"
He smirked. "You'll get your reward, just give me a bit longer. I haven't memorized the color of your eyes just yet."
After not even ten more seconds of staring into his dark irises, you caved with another groan. This one more out of impatience than discomfort. Falling into his neck again you whined and kicked your foot in frustration.
His chest rumbled with a laugh. Once again, his hand was on the back of your head. "Oh I know, I know, sunshine, I was pushing it. You did so good. Here, come here—" He gently grabbed a hold of your jaw, turning it upwards to meet your lips in a kiss. It was clear he was giving you a 'thank you'. Sexy was one way to put it, but the energy of it was softer than sex. You found as well that he lingered in it much longer than usual, and that was met with no complaint from you. You simply closed your eyes and returned the same loving energy.
You both let out satisfied breaths over each other before the spell had finally been broken, Eddie pulling away first with a grin on his face.
"You alright there, babes?"
Your eyes remained closed, the feeling of his lips on yours like that leaving you in a daze. His warmth always sent your insides spinning.
"Again," You whispered, putting your hand up to his head to pull him in.
He leaned downward once more, only to collide his forehead with yours instead of your lips on his. "Nope, those kisses aren't free. You gotta look at me to get them."
Still in a lovestruck fog, you lazily opened your eyes. You were obviously looking into his face, but being so close made his features an absolute blur. It was clear, though, his eyes were open, mere inches from yours.
"Good girl," He mumbled before leaning in to gift another kiss.
Waking up after a hard night of drinking was always strange and unpleasant. In all honesty, that was why Eddie Munson preferred weed. Sure, getting drunk could be fun with the right people, but the next day was always a little slice of hell on earth.
Today was no exception. Rather than gently lifting up into consciousness as he woke up naturally, he was instead woken up by a severe pounding in his head.
Eddie opened his eyes briefly and groaned in pain before closing them again. The open curtains allowed the late morning sun to illuminate the room. The bright light sent bolts of pain through each of his eyeballs, making the headache worse. It was a steady pounding feeling, as if someone were in his head playing a drum solo.
Rolling onto his back, Eddie brought his ring clad hands up to his face to rub his eyes for a bit before attempting to open them again. While it still hurt, at least he expected the room to be so bright this time. Still though, it made his stomach turn a bit and his head throb even more. He knew if he tried to get up right now that his stomach wouldn’t be feeling too good either. Eddie decided his normal hangover cure was in order.
Shutting his eyes again, he rolled over towards the center of his bed, fully intending to go back to sleep. He threw his arm out to stretch across the empty space next to him.
Instead of stretching out like he intended though, his arm landed on something that cause it do bend at an awkward angle, as if draped over something. Eddie cracked his eyes open again and lifted his head slightly. It took him a moment to process it, but he eventually realized there was someone else laying under the blankets with him, still sleeping peacefully.
While bringing someone home with him from The Hideout wasn’t a completely uncommon occurrence, it didn’t happen very often. And, when it did, he was always sober enough to remember it once he woke up in the next day. Right now, though, Eddie couldn’t even remember how he got home from the bar last night, much less remember bringing someone home with him.
Though Eddie’s head was still pounding, the idea of sleep was forgotten. He started wracking his brain, trying to piece together the previous night.
Corroded Coffin had a Saturday night gig at The Hideout. That much he remembered. It ended up being a fantastic show. All of their friends came out for it, and they drew in a fairly large crowd since they were playing on the weekend. Granted, the bar was still under half capacity, but it was one of their largest crowds to date and that was something to celebrate. And, after the show, that’s exactly what everyone had done.
Eddie remembered Steve buying a round of drinks after the performance. He remembered you and him sneaking off to a stall in the men’s room to share a joint. He remembered Gareth ordering a round of shots when the two of you got back. Then Robin ordered a round of drinks after that. And then Jeff ordered another round of shots after that. At some point, he vaguely remembered tequila getting involved. But, after that, there was nothing until just a little bit ago when he woke up.
After thinking on it for a while, he gave up on trying to remember, figuring that would come back later. But Eddie was curious now. He reached over to gently pull the blanket down a bit to see who it was he ended up taking home with him.
Eddie froze, still holding the blanket.
You. You were lying next to him in bed.
Eddie’s mind whirled, his heart pounding as loudly as his head by this point.
You’d never been in bed with him before, even just to sleep. There were only a few times you’d ever stayed over, only on nights when you couldn’t drive home or the weather was bad, but he always slept on the couch those nights so you could have the bed to yourself. There had to be a logical explanation for this.
Out of curiosity, he lifted the edge of the blanket and looked down.
Eddie’s heart stopped.
You both were completely naked.
He stared down at your bodies as he tried to comprehend what he was seeing.
You were laying with your arms folded against your chest and half on your stomach, which blocked your private areas from his view. All he could really see the full length of your bare leg all the way up past the curve of your ass to your hip.
Your hip that currently had a hand on it, which was neither his nor yours.
Eddie sat up hurriedly. It was quite a shock realizing there was a third person in bed with you two, but that was nothing in comparison to the shock of seeing who exactly it was.
Curled up on your other side was none other than Steve Harrington.
Once again, it took a moment for Eddie to comprehend what he was seeing.
The section of blanket on Steve’s side had slid down some, revealing that he was shirtless. Though, another peek under the blankets revealed that he was just as naked as you and Eddie were.
Fully in shock now, Eddie slowly laid back down. He stared at the ceiling, wracking his brain again in a desperate attempt to remember the night before.
The fog of alcohol and the headache from the hangover blocked off his memory still, so he gave up again and debated on what he should do next.
He supposed he could just leave and come back later after the both of you had left, but that would only delay the inevitable. You two would still be waking up naked in his bed even if he wasn’t there to see it. Eventually, this would need to be addressed if you all wanted any sort of friendship after this. It was going to be awkward when the two of you woke up. That much he knew for sure.
Now in desperate need in of a smoke, Eddie carefully slipped out of bed, trying not to wake either of you. He found a pair of sweatpants among his laundry scattered about on the floor. As he pulled them on, he noticed your clothes and Steve’s flung haphazardly around the room, along with the clothes he had been wearing last night. He swallowed heavily, quietly heading from the bedroom.
As he made a pit stop in the bathroom, Eddie was still trying to figure out how you all ended up in bed together. He knew what it looked like. He was well aware of what it looked like. But it couldn’t possibly have been that. No way. He’d never been drunk or high enough to act on his attraction to either of you. The only thing he could think of was that all you all started feeling hot from the alcohol, stripped down to cool off and just fell asleep. That had to be it.
But then as he went to leave the bathroom, he glanced in the mirror and did a double take. Scattered along his upper chest, neck and shoulders were hickies and bite marks of various sizes and shades.
Stunned, he stared at himself for a moment. He turned slowly then turned to get a good look at the rest of his body. While there wasn’t any more hickies that he could see, streaked down his back were several dark pink welts that were clearly nail marks. In addition to that, just above his shoulder blades were a few crescent shaped bruises, like someone had dug their nails into his back while holding onto him.
Eddie’s jaw dropped. He met his own gaze in the mirror.
“What the fuck did you do?” he said softly to his reflection.
In the living room, Eddie found evidence that you three had hung out here for a while before migrating to his bed. A few empty beer bottles littered the coffee table and a half-smoked joint sat in the ashtray. Eddie slipped on his jacket and sneakers before grabbing the joint on the way to the front door.
This morning called for something stronger than a cigarette now.
Trying to stay quiet, he left the front door partially open and gently closed the screen door. The sun was even brighter now that he was outside, which immediately got in Eddie’s eyes and made him wince. His head was throbbing even more now that he was up, which, as predicted, was starting to make his stomach queasy. He lit the joint first, hoping to calm his nerves as well as the effects of the hangover. Once that was gone, he fished his cigarettes out of his pocket and began chain smoking.
Not too long after Eddie started on his first cigarette, a very groggy, and very hungover, Steve sat up in bed. He rubbed his eyes and squinted as he looked around the room. Confusion sat in as he didn’t recognize where he was at first. But then after his gaze landed on a couple of guitars and one heavy metal poster after another, he slowly came to realize he was in Eddie’s bedroom.
This didn’t come as a surprise to Steve though. The plan the night before had always been to come back to Eddie’s place at the end of the night. Nancy had picked the three of you up from there since it was her turn to be the designated driver, so you all had left your vehicles there. While he didn’t remember coming to bed, he had vague memories of sharing a cab with you and Eddie once the bar had closed, well after Nancy and the others had left. He remembered you three wanted to continue partying and you two decided you were staying the night. Wayne was out of town that weekend for work training, so Eddie was all for having you two over for the night.
As Steve went to swing his legs out of bed, a sudden throbbing in his head made him double over slightly, his elbows resting on his thighs, eyes squeezed closed and slightly watering.
Getting drunk is always a good idea until the next day.
Halfway through his third cigarette, Eddie heard someone stirring in the trailer through the screen door. Whoever it was, be it you or Steve, was trying to be quiet, but the creaky floor wasn’t having it.
Eddie wasn’t any closer to figuring out what he was going to do. Leaving still seemed like the best idea, but it was too late for that now. The keys to his van were on the kitchen counter.
Fortunately, whoever was it was didn’t come outside, giving him some more time to compose himself. He listened to them shuffle across the living room, pick up the phone and dial a number.
Whoever they were trying to call didn’t answer because Eddie heard them hang up then try again.
“C’mon, pick up,” a voice muttered from inside.
Eddie couldn’t tell who it was until whoever the person they were trying to call finally answered.
“Robin! Finally!” they whisper yelled. “I’m freaking out over here!”
Eddie finally recognized the voice as Steve’s and some of his nerves eased hearing it was Steve, but he still wasn’t quite ready to face him just yet. Creeping closer to the door, he listened in on Steve’s side of the conversation.
“You’ve gotta help me out, I don’t know what to do!” Pause. “I can’t calm down! I just woke up next to Y/N in Eddie’s bed!” Pause. “Robin, we were both naked!” Pause. “No, I’m not joking!” Pause. “Seriously, Robin, now is not the time for jokes!” Pause. “I don’t know if I had fun, I don’t remember anything after leaving The Hideout!”
Knowing that he wasn’t the only one in the dark made Eddie feel a little better about the whole thing. But then a thought occurred to him, and all of his nerves came back.
In a way, he hoped you wouldn’t remember any it either. There was no telling what your reaction would be to all this. There wasn’t any use trying to deny what happened anymore. The three of you had a threesome last night. Or, at the very least, you and Eddie fucked. That much was obviously for certain judging from the way his own chest and back looked. But, then again, it wouldn’t make much sense why Harrington would be in the same state as you both unless he was also involved too. At least if none of you remembered what happened, that way you would all be a blank slate and could pretend it didn’t happen.
Granted, he didn’t know how that would be possible since you all would know it happened, regardless of whether or not any of you remembered it. But, if that’s what it took to still be friends after all this, he was willing to give it a shot. He didn’t want to lose either of you due to some stupid drunken escapade.
Eddie sighed and took the last drag off his cigarette as Steve was finishing his call.
Time to face the music.
He stepped back into the trailer as Steve was hanging up the phone. Steve didn’t hear him at first, giving Eddie the chance to get a look at him.
While Steve had pulled on his jeans, he was still shirtless, giving Eddie a good view of his torso. He could see some nail marks down his back, as well as a few hickies on his neck and shoulders.
There was one question answered, at least.
The sound of the screen door closing made Steve finally turn around, revealing more hickies across his chest. A sheepish look came over his face when he saw Eddie.
“Uh, hey,” Steve said, running his hand through his hair nervously. “Morning.”
“Morning,” Eddie said, fiddling with his rings nervously.
A brief silence fell over the two men.
“Y/N’s naked,” Steve suddenly blurted out, and then pointed towards Eddie’s bedroom. “In your bed. Back there.”
Eddie nodded slowly.
“Yeah,” Eddie said, swallowing heavily. “Yeah, I saw.”
“So was I,” Steve said, and once again run his hand through his hair. “Completely naked. Next to Y/N. In your bed.”
Eddie nodded again.
“Yeeeah,” he said slowly. “I, uh, was naked, too. With you two. In my bed.”
Steve’s eyes widened and he swallowed heavily. He looked in the direction of the bedroom then back to Eddie.
“Do you think we…you know?” Steve asked, gesturing between the two of them and the bedroom, then gave the air a little thrust of his hips, as if he didn’t want to say what he was thinking.
“Obviously,” Eddie said, and gestured between the two of them. “Look at us, man. We had a pretty wild night from the looks of it.”
At Eddie’s words, Steve looked down at his chest. His eyes were wide as he slowly looked back up at Eddie.
“What the hell should we do?” Steve whisper yelled, looking close to panicking.
“I have no idea!” Eddie whisper yelled back. “I can’t say I’ve ever woken up like this before, much less with either of you!”
The two men stared at each other for a moment before Steve sighed.
“Man, this is crazy,” Steve said, which Eddie nodded in agreement with. Then Steve sighed, his arms crossing over his chest. “Maybe…we should see how Y/N feels about it first?”
Eddie brightened.
“Good idea,” he said hurriedly, feeling somewhat relieved the overall outcome wouldn’t be on his shoulders. “If Y/N’s fine with it, then I’m fine with it.”
Steve nodded readily in agreement. He opened his mouth to say something else but cut himself off when the sound of the toilet flushing came from the bathroom down the hall.
Both men whipped their heads around at the sound. Neither of them had heard you get up. Soon, they heard the bathroom door open.
Now it really was time to face the music.
Since facing Steve had gone easier than expected, Eddie braced himself for your reaction. He was fully prepared for a meltdown. He expected you to be upset, and even braced himself for tears. He expected some yelling, possibly some screaming. There might even be some accusations, though the possibility of you thinking anything like that made Eddie’s stomach clench. He hoped you would know that he would never take advantage of you while you were drunk…but, then again, could he really say that since he didn’t even remember what happened? The very idea alone made his stomach clenched even tighter.
When you came out of the bathroom, you were dressed in your clothes from the night before. You were humming softly, which struck Eddie as strange considering the circumstances. You usually didn’t hum all that much, just when you were in an exceedingly good mood. This didn’t really strike Eddie as an occasion where you would be in a good mood though.
As you started to turn into the kitchen, you looked up and saw them in the living room.
“Morning fellas,” you said, smiling brightly at them both before ducking into the small kitchen.
They could hear you start to open cabinet doors. Eddie and Steve both looked at each other, deep confusion on their faces. It didn’t seem like you were bothered by the state of things at all. Maybe you hadn’t put two and two together yet? You woke up alone in bed, so it was possible.
You came back a moment later and stood in the doorway to the living room. A box of cereal was tucked under your arm, and you were eating it dry right out of the box with your free hand.
Aside from the crunch of cereal and the sounds drifting in from the outside, the room was silent. It wasn’t exactly a comfortable silence but wasn’t really an uncomfortable one either. It was just a silence.
Eddie started rubbing the back of his neck nervously, his gaze flicking repeatedly between you and Steve. Steve was in a similar state, one of his feet tapping anxiously and he kept crossing and uncrossing his arms, his eyes looking between you and Eddie. You seemed to be the only one relaxed, munching on your cereal and looking between the two men.
It seemed like everyone was waiting on someone else to start talking first.
After some time of this, you cleared your throat, which made them both look back over at you.
“Uh,“ you finally said, smiling shyly at them. “Hi.”
“Hi,” said both Eddie and Steve at the same time.
“I, uh,” you said, then stopped to clear your throat. “I had a lot of fun last night.” you said.
Before either of them could process what you just said, you started laughing nervously and shook your head.
“Sorry,” you said, your cheeks flushing a soft pink. “That was a really weird thing for me to say after everything. I mean, obviously, I had fun.”
Eddie exchanged another look with Steve, then back to you.
Now you were the one who looked nervous, taking their silent exchange of a look for something else.
“Did, did you two have fun, too?” you asked, shifting on your feet.
Eddie rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
“Well, um, that’s the thing, Princess,” he said, then stopped, unsure of how to phrase things.
“We were, uh,” Steve continued after a moment. “Actually trying to figure all that out. What happened last night, I mean.”
Your eyes widened at their words, and you looked back and forth between the two again.
“You guys don’t remember?” you asked.
Both men shook their heads.
Your mouth dropped opened in shock.
“Exactly h-how drunk were you two last night?” you asked softly.
“I don’t remember leaving The Hideout,” Eddie confessed, with a shrug.
“I barely remember the cab ride here,” Steve said. “Nothing after that though.”
Your hand flew to your mouth, an expression of horror on your face.
“Oh my god, I am so sorry,” you said, your voice remorseful and you looked on the verge of tears. “I had no idea you guys were that drunk, I swear!”
“No no no!” Eddie said, taking a few steps forward so he could rest a hand on your shoulder. “You have nothing to be sorry for. This isn’t your fault.”
All of a sudden, a very sheepish look came to you face and your cheeks flushed a bright pink.
“Actually, um,” you said. “I kind of initiated the whole thing.”
There was a moment of silence.
“What whole thing?” Steve asked, voice quiet and tinged with awe.
There was another moment of silence.
“You know,” you finally said, then gestured between the three of you, as if you were hesitant to say it. “Us. Having sex. It was my idea.”
There was a lot longer than just a moment of silence after that one.
Steve nearly fell over where he was standing but managed to catch his balance.
Eddie’s hand dropped from your shoulder in shock to hang limply at his side.
Now that it was confirmed, Eddie tried once again to remember the night before. Squeezing his eyes shut, he rubbed the bridge of his nose. The fog of alcohol was still too thick to penetrate with his head in the state it was and straining to think didn’t do anything but make the headache worse.
“So, um,” Steve said, finally breaking the silence and making Eddie look up. “H-How did it happen?”
“Well,” you said slowly, swallowing a bite of cereal. “We’ve all been flirting pretty heavily with each other for a while now, and I’ve had a thing for both of you for a long time before that.” A bashful grin came to your face then. “So, I may have gotten a little buzzed and handsy at the bar, and you both were into it. After we came back here, we had a few more drinks and, well…” You cleared your throat and looked down shyly. “I decided to try my luck and asked if you two wanted to have sex with me.”
Both Eddie and Steve stared at you in shock.
“You’ve had a thing got us for a while?” Eddie said when he finally found his voice again.
You nodded.
There was a short pause in the conversation as they processed this.
“Well?” Steve said after abit. “What’d we say?”
Eddie looked over at him with a raised brow. As if their answer wasn’t obvious already.
“Truthfully, not much,” you said as you looked up. “It escalated pretty quickly after that. Though, you both did double check to make sure I fully understood what I was saying after the alcohol and weed.” A warm smile came to your face. “I thought that was really sweet.”
Now it was Eddie’s turn to look down shyly.
The room was got quiet again.
“But you said you had fun, right?” Steve suddenly asked. You nodded in confirmation. “Then that must mean we did good, right?”
Eddie looked over at Steve, gawking at him. While this was an entirely new situation for him, Eddie was pretty sure it was in poor taste to ask for a report card after having a threesome.
To his surprise, you didn’t seem to mind. Biting your bottom lip, you grinned and nodded.
Eddie couldn’t help but grin himself then, a boost of confidence suddenly coming back. It briefly made him forget about the oddness of this situation.
“Yeah?” he asked, then decided to be bold. “How good?”
Now you were blushing again.
“Well, I’m pretty sore today,” you said, your voice going a bit higher pitched, so you had to clear your throat before continuing. “You both were pretty enthusiastic all night.”
It wasn’t too long after that you had to leave since you were supposed to meet up with family later on. The three of you kept conversation light as you and Steve finished dressing, talking about your plans for the day.
Once you got ready to leave, you gave them each a soft kiss on the lips.
“Hopefully once the hangovers go away you guys will remember some of it,” you said with a smile as you headed for the door.
“I sure as hell hope so, Princess,” Eddie groaned before he could stop himself.
While he turned red at his own words, you giggled at him as you opened the door to leave. It was the first time Eddie had ever heard that sound from you and it made his heart speed up. It gave him even more of his confidence back.
“If we don’t remember, any chance there could be a redo?” Eddie asked before he could talk himself out of it.
You froze in mid-step halfway out the door and turned quickly to look at Eddie. The shock on your face was almost comical. A quick glance over at Steve showed him staring at Eddie in horror. Looking back at you, Eddie gave you his biggest grin and winked at you, which he was delighted to see made you blush.
“Um, I-I don’t know,” you said, and then a grin of your own slowly spread across your face. “Maybe. You’ll just have to wait and see.”
You sent a wink back at Eddie before leaving then. Steve wasn’t too far behind, heading out himself just a few minutes later.
Plopping down on the couch as he listened to Steve’s car driving away, Eddie sighed heavily and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Initially, he didn’t have plans for today, but now he knew what he was going to spend the rest of his day doing.
Trying to remember fucking his two very hot best friends.
hi🥰 can u write something about hamzah taking readers weed virginity and she greens out/passes out and hamzah takes care of her?
dream blunt rotation
stoner!hamzah x reader
Tumblr media
a/n : WAIT THIS IS SO CUTE OMG OKAY, excuse this if it’s like not accurate to what weed is like, IM TRYING MY BEST. also this is NOT PROOF READ because i am LAZY so please don’t flame me
contains : use of weed, very brief vomitting (WARNING FOR EMETOPHOBIA), fluff, cuteness, lowkey casual dominance, munchies 😛😛😛
I watched as Hamzah brought his blunt back and fourth from his lips and back. Laying in his arms, I tried not to scrunch my nose at the smell. I had never tried weed, and though Hamzah and I had been dating for a while now, I was not anything close to a fan of the smell. I could tell Hamzah was accustomed to it.
He must’ve noticed that I was staring at him, since he raised his eyebrows curiously at me, and I quickly focused my gaze at the ceiling fan.
“What are (water) you looking at, baby?” He questioned with a grin on his face.
I shook my head, he knew what I was looking at. I was sure Hamzah could tell I was curious about trying weed, but I was far too scared to ask or toy with it without any help.
“Do you wanna try?” He added, moving the blunt towards me.
I paused for a moment, trying to decide if I was really about to do this. I hadn’t done anything like this before. Hell, I’d barely ever gotten drunk. My whole I’d been told that drugs and alcohol was bad, and yet my boyfriend was dangling a blunt in front of my face.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to, I can tell your curious though.”
Hamzah was somewhat different when he was high. It made him calmer, less on edge, and not so socially awkward. It was nice seeing him in such a relaxed state, and I couldn’t help but wonder how it would make me act.
I finally grabbed the blunt from him gently. Staring at it for a few moments, I fumbled with it between my fingers. I could say all day that I was going to get high, the problem was acting doing it.
“Can you help me?” I asked shyly, my cheeks heating. Hamzah nodded, taking the blunt back and carefully moving them towards my lips.
“It might hurt at first, that’s just because you’re not used to it. Just suck it in, hold it for a couple seconds, and then breathe it out.”
I nodded, and I watched as he moved it closer to me. It was such an intimate feeling, laying on him as he placed something so tainted, something I’d been warned about my entire life, between my lips.
I did as he had instructed me, sucking it in, holding it, and breathing out, but I managed to sneak a coughing fit in towards the end. Hamzah rubbed my back as a sat up, and after a few moments, I leaned back again.
“How do you feel?” He asked, taking a hit of the blunt.
I thought for a moment. It was a lot different than I had expected, but I was willing to try the foreign feeling again.
“I wanna try again.” I stated, and he moved the joint towards me once again.
This time I just barely coughed, and I smiled triumphantly afterwards.
“There you go.” Hamzah encouraged, waiting a few moments until I nodded and he put the blunt between my lips once more.
I didn’t cough at all this time. Looking up at Hamzah, I watched as he smiled down at me.
“See, it’s not too bad, right?”
I nodded, “It doesn’t hurt as bad now.”
“If you start feeling sick, tell me, okay?”
I hummed in agreement. Hamzah took another hit, and then let me take another as well. The feeling was foreign, almost like I was floating, almost like I weighed nothing, but it was a good feeling. I giggled at every stupid joke Hamzah would make, which wasn’t too different than how I was sober.
I was glad that out of all people I could’ve experienced this with, it was Hamzah. He’d run his fingers through my hair as I rambled on about anything and everything that came to mind. Hamzah was extra silly too, joking that this was his “dream blunt rotation”.
These good feelings only lasted a couple minutes, until my sixth hit, in which I began to feel extremely nauseous.
I tried to sit up, but the floaty feeling was still there. “Hamzah?” I said, trying not to panic.
“Hm?” He said. I could tell he was out of it.
“I feel really sick,”
Hamzah immediately stood up, guiding me to the bathroom. I was glad he held my arm as we walked, because the floaty feeling didn’t go away as I moved, matter of fact, it got worse.
Once we’d reached the small bathroom, I kneeled in front of the toilet, and immediately started vomitting. Hamzah held my hair back,
My cheeked flushed as I realized he was seeing me in such a vulnerable state. Hamzah and I had been dating for a while now, but I’d never been sick in front of him. He didn’t seem to mind though, and if he did I couldn’t have noticed since I was a bit preoccupied.
Once I was done, he helped me up slowly and lead me back to the bed.
“D’you feel better?” He asked, placing me on his lap and stroking my hair.
“Yeah, I’m sorry-“
Hamzah shook his head, kissing my lips gently. “You have nothing to be sorry for, I should be the one apologizing, I shouldn’t have let you do that much on your first time.”
I shrugged, “It’s okay, I promise.”
Hamzah was always very comforting towards me, but this was a new side of him I hadn’t seen yet. Almost protective, and I couldn’t say I didn’t like it.
“Are you hungry?”
I thought for a moment. Now that I was thinking about it, I was extremely hungry. I had always heard of the cravings that came with smoking weed, but I hadn’t expected it to be this intense.
Nodding, I watched as Hamzah picked up his phone.
“I’ll order something, what do you want?”
“Everything?”
Hamzah laughed, continuing to play with my hair with one hand while typing on his phone with another.
“What about pizza?”
I nodded vigorously, “Pizza sounds so good.”
Hamzah smiled at me, stroking my cheek.
The room fell silent for a moment, as he typed away ordering the pizza and spent a moment admiring him.
Hamzah set his phone down, “It’s ordered.”
I smiled, “Thank you, Hamzah.”
He shrugged, “It’s just pizza, baby-“
“No, I mean for taking care of me, and letting me try this.”
“Oh,” he looked down, avoiding my eyes. Hamzah enjoyed praise, but always became flustered when it was given to him, “it’s no problem, the least I could do.”
I smiled, kissing him softly. His thumb continued to stroke my cheek, while his other explored my thigh. He touched me with so much fragility, as if I was made of glass and could shatter at any amount of pressure.
My eyes began to grow heavy after I pulled away. I knew I probably shouldn’t fall asleep now, since it was only 6:27 pm and if I wanted any chance of falling asleep tonight, I needed to stay up.
“Are you sleepy?” Hamzah asked, looking at me with so much affection, my heart felt as if it might burst.
“Yeah,” I fought a yawn.
Hamzah guided me to lay on his chest, “I’ll wake you up when the food gets here.”
I slowly nodded, closing my eyes. Hamzah’s careful fingers ran through my hair, soothing me to sleep.
Dabi would definitely stalk you. Like he could deadass see you once, or twice while he was in an alleyway and be watching you ever since.
He'd go to the extremities if he wanted to, but he would leave notes under the door of your apartment or house. Or go to you little flower shop where you work as a florist because of your work DAILY.
And like the moment you go up and ask of he needs help because you caught him staring at you it's probably the time when he decides to kidnap you or something, the good old chloroform soaked rag would work, good thing your not related to anybody special or the police would have gone through the cameras outside of your workplace.
He won't take you to the base either. He definitely has his one little shabby joint somewhere hidden where he stays every now and then, have you disoriented repeatedly by moving the fake light switch in his room, then gaslighting you and saying it was there in the first place (no it wasn't) and make you believe that your sick in the head.
Even if you do manage to escape and try and go to the police station, they won't believe you, hell, they won't even take your case. That's when you know your pretty much alone. So you try and find your parents again, after so so many years of them trying to contact you after a messy fight and after some hesitancy they come to your house.
But lo and behold the infamous villian is there. He'd probably burn your house down or kill your parents. Then take you again.
But don't worry, he won't hurt you at least if you listen to him that is. Maybe a few cigarette burns on your thighs but nothing too extreme.
When your finally 'corrupt' by him, he will reluctantly take you to where the rest of the LOV stays. Threatening them if they were to touch you or even look at you, all the while tossing you around like your a toy.
Thankfully after he has some form of trust in you and keeps your legs not tied to any sort of furniture he's bolted to the floor, is when you want to escape again. The little bit of hope still remaining inside that you could be free. But it's only when he's there too, maybe your freedom isn't going to be until a while after.
This popped into my head. I ain't saying this a good thing or whatever but it's definitely something he would do.
Did anyone else's chronic pain go from just bothering you to FUCKING everything up??
Because that sure happened to me. Went from "my hip kinda hurts when I walk and my joints crack a bit. Slight headache too." to "oww my hips gave out again, and hurt like hell. Also my joints are cracking and it's very painful. Can't walk anymore today. Oh and my head hurts for the 3rd month in a row."
The bell chimed above the old red door and Y/N looked up from the counter.
She was filthy and tired. Her apron was covered in the greasy remnants from the lunch rush and her jeans were stained by a spilled cup of lukewarm coffee that she never got to drink. She pressed the tip of her pen to Mr. Taylor’s check and tried to finish calculating the tax when she saw him.
He walked through the door like no time had passed.
His hair was still stuck up in that familiar way that made it seem like he ran his hand through it constantly. His jeans were still ripped even though they fit a little bit tighter. The leather jacket was gone and his face held a few more lines than she remembered, but there was no doubt in her mind that it was him.
Dean Winchester.
Her breath caught and the pen moved across the thin green paper all on its own, leaving behind a smudged blue line.
“Shit!”
He didn’t look over, didn’t see her staring in awe.
Quickly, she tallied up the total and ripped the paper free. Mr. Taylor was still working on his tenth cup of coffee and she tucked the bill beneath the stainless steel creamer cup.
“Whenever you’re ready,” she said with a distracted smile.
Dean scanned the small diner and paused on her face. He smiled passively and pointed to a booth by the window.
Startled and a little hurt by the lack of recognition in his eyes, Y/N simply nodded.
“Be- uh-” She cleared her throat and took a breath. “Be right there!”
Dean waved a hand her way as he slid into the long bench seat. “Take your time, Sweetheart.” The vinyl crackled and the springs creaked beneath him as he settled in the middle and set his elbows on the table. He clasped his hands as if in prayer and pressed his forehead to his knuckles.
Y/N tried not to stare but it was hard to blink, hard to move, hard to do anything but gawk at the man she’d once loved.
OK, maybe it wasn’t love, but it was something legendary.
At least to her.
Tumblr media
She was freezing and terrified; lost to the daylight and trapped in some unholy hell. The rough ropes around her wrists were too tight, ripping at her delicate skin each time she dared to move. The turn of her shoulders was harsh. It kept her arms locked behind the back of the hard wooden chair and it was enough to send pins down to her fingers, numbing everything from joint to tip. The beer-soaked rag jammed into her mouth made it hard to breathe, scream, or even stay conscious.
Only four hours had passed but it felt like twenty.
Two other girls had gone before her, ripped from their seats by hungry hands and blood-stained lips that dragged them off into the shadows of the empty building. She didn’t know where they went, only that they didn’t return. Their screams echoed until they failed, fading from pained, wordless pleas to the pale final moans before death.
She was the only one left.
She chewed on the rag, pushed at it with her tired tongue, and shook her head furiously, trying anything to get free. The cursed fabric mocked her like a stripped screw, moving only enough to give her hope and no more.
She kicked at the floor, pushing down as hard and tipping the chair. She braced herself as best she could, tensing her body inwards as the cold, filthy concrete floor accepted her left side. Her head bounced off the stone and bright lights popped like camera flashes around the edges of her vision. She felt her stomach turn with pain and then there was nothing. The cold wrapped itself around her and the shadows drew in close, swallowing her whole.
Time passed around her but Y/N was out cold. She dreamt of the bar, of that stupid jerk who’d caught her eye and danced so close. Of the smell of his cologne, of the drugs he’d tipped into her drink. She felt his lips again, sliding from her mouth to her cheek and down, lingering over her pulse to suck a painful little mark on her throat. She felt his hand on her cheek, holding her hostage to his lust.
Another hand hit her cheek, tapping gently, and Y/N blinked into the darkness, focusing finally on a pair of unbelievable green eyes. They reminded her of a thriving forest of deep evergreens lit by the golden rays of sunrise. She smiled.
“Good. You’re alive.”
The eyes came with a face that pulled back a few inches and captivated her addled mind. Freckles. Lashes. Crooked nose. Plump lips.
She shook her head. “What?”
“You gotta get up.”
Y/N’s gaze narrowed. “Who are you?”
A half smile, a tiny laugh. “I’m Dean.” He lifted her head, gently cradling the wound on her temple. He leaned in, glancing at each of her eyes, gauging the damage. “Can you tell me your name?”
She nodded and swallowed, clearing her throat. “Y/N.”
Dean smiled again. “Good. Nice to meet you.”
In a flash, she was sitting up again as he placed the chair back on four legs. Her bones rattled as wood hit concrete and her vision wavered.
“What’s going on- who are you?” she said again, not remembering his name or finding it a suitable response.
Nimble fingers worked on the knot at her wrist. “My name’s Dean Winchester.” When the ropes fell, he rushed around to help her up, extending a big hand. “And I’m here to rescue you.”
He beamed with pride and she laughed softly.
“You’ve always wanted to say that, haven’t you?”
Dean bit his lip and shrugged. “Can you blame me?”
Her hand slipped into his palm and warmth ran up her arm, filling her with a sense of safety she couldn’t fully understand.
“I guess not.”
“Can you stand?” he asked, closing his fingers. They were so long they nearly eclipsed her entire hand.
Y/N drew herself up and took a steadying breath. “I think so.”
Something fell in the distance. Metal crashed. Glass shattered. A deep roar filled the air, growing louder by the second.
“Good,” Dean said, gripping her tighter. “Because now we gotta run.”
Tumblr media
Sam waltzed in like he owned the place, his long hair whipping in the wind he created when he threw the door open.
With a cocky nod at the waitress, he threw himself onto the dull red vinyl across from Dean and slapped his hand on the table, startling his brother.
“You sleeping?”
Dean sneered and dropped his hands into his lap. “No. I’m thinking.”
Sam chuckled. “Don’t hurt yourself.”
“Ya know-” Dean bit his tongue and shook his head, refusing to get into it. He was road-weary and exhausted, ready for a burger and a bed and nothing more. “Whatever. What did you find out?”
“Well…” Sam pulled his phone from his jacket pocket and swiped a finger across the screen. “Did some digging at the rectory and Father-”
“The where?”
Dean grinned like an idiot and Sam rolled his eyes.
“The rectory.”
Clearing his throat in subtle reprimand, Sam carried on, expounding upon the history of some priest who had died in the town in 19-something-or-other. Dean couldn’t pay attention. The waitress behind the counter had caught his eye and his brain was working in overdrive. There was something about her that was pulling him in. Something familiar and slightly painful that he couldn’t put his finger on.
She was pretty. Her hair was tied back in a messy ponytail, her face was dabbed with what he hoped was flour, and she wore a tight navy tee that showed off curves that could drive any soul mad. There was a softness to her that broke his heart, a kindness that lit her energy. When she smiled, he could tell that it wasn’t real, wasn’t completely true. She knew things that other people didn’t, things that would invoke Lovecraftian nightmares in most, and yet, she kept herself busy in a diner in a little town in the middle of nowhere. He could see it in her eyes. It was a look you couldn’t lose once you knew the truth about the world.
It was a look he knew all too well. One that he saw in the mirror every morning.
She turned toward him with two plastic-covered menus under her arm and a pot of coffee in hand.
When their eyes met she froze. Dean could see her take a deep breath and he stared as her face etched itself in his memory banks.
His heart ached.
Y/N.
He couldn’t believe it. After all these years, there she was- just as beautiful, just as soft and enticing. He bit down hard into his bottom lip and let the film in his mind play.
Tumblr media
“Where are we going?” Y/N was panting; desperate to keep up but exhausted from her torturous night. Dried blood caked her throat and fresh release bubbled like a thick ooze on the side of her head. Her skin was paling; her eyes were blurry.
Her hand felt so small against his and he squeezed it hard, refusing to let go. Twice, she’d stumbled next to him, and twice, Dean had scooped her up, unwilling to lose another victim to his own weakness and the monsters of the world.
Dean stopped for a moment and looked around. They were in a labyrinth of rooms deep inside a derelict factory with little light to guide them and no way to remember every twist and turn as they ran through.
“Uh… out,” he said, unsure but afraid to say so.
Y/N tugged on his hand and made him look at her. “Out?”
“Yeah. Out. We’re getting out of here!” His brow creased and his lips fell into a straight line. He was worried.
She shivered. “How?”
He looked around again, forgetting which way they had come from. “I… I don’t know yet.”
“Great.” Frustrated and close to passing out again, Y/N dropped his hand and spun around. “What is happening?”
Dean winced. He could hear the breakdown in her voice. That moment everyone went through when they figured out the worst day of their life was about to get way worse. He sighed and watched her spin out, sad for her but unable to do much until she worked through it.
“I go out for a few drinks and-” She closed her eyes tight as the night washed over her. “That guy- he fucking-” Her hands flew to her head. “He must have drugged me and then… he was…” Her right hand slid down to her throat, gingerly dabbing at the two tiny holes below her jaw. She pulled back and looked down at the flakes of blood that clung to her fingertips. “He-”
Dean watched her shoulders tense, her breath quicken. She shook her head.
“No. No. No fucking way. That’s not possible! It’s not- he wasn’t-”
He cleared his throat and crossed his arms, waiting patiently.
“Go on,” he urged gently.
“And the others- the redhead and the bartender they-”
“Mhm…” Dean shook his head slowly. He had found their bodies a few moments before stumbling upon Y/N.
“They’re dead.” Y/N grabbed her stomach as if she might puke. “They’re dead because-”
“Almost there…”
“Because that guy…”
Dean leaned in, slightly amused by the gears he imagined turning in her head. “Was a…”
Y/N’s frame went limp and her soul seemed to drop. “Vampire.”
Dean snapped his fingers. “There it is. Good job.” He moved forward to take her hand once more but Y/N flinched away.
“No! This cannot be happening!”
Dean rolled his eyes. “I’m sorry but it is. That guy from the bar is a bloodsucking asshole and he’s coming to finish you off. That is, if you don’t let me get you outta here.” Again, he reached for her hand, and this time she let him have it, squeezing tight.
She gaped up at him. “A vampire.”
“Yeah.”
Her eyes went wide as she stared off over his shoulder. “A vampire.”
Dean sighed. “I know this is hard to deal with but-”
Y/N yanked his arm hard and tugged him closer, frantically pointing with the other hand. “No! A vampire. Behind you!”
Tumblr media
The moment stretched out between them like contrails, visible but nothing, there then gone, fading into the atmosphere.
Y/N stared into the green eyes that so often haunted her dreams. Those eyes she saw when nightmares overtook her evenings or when she turned her mind back to lovers past. The eyes she spent too long praying would sweep over her face just one more time.
Her cheeks burned. Her heart skipped a beat and then another until a pain in her chest made her take a deep breath.
He recognized her. She knew it in the way his lips parted slightly with surprise, the way he blinked a few too many times to clear his vision lest she be a phantom.
She smiled softly and he returned it, dipping down so he could look up through impossibly thick lashes and break her heart all over again.
Tumblr media
Dean swung and the vampire ducked, springing back up to swat at Dean as if he were an irritating insect and nothing more.
The way he spun around was impressive. Y/N stared in awe as Dean turned on his heel and pulled a long blade from beneath his leather jacket. It was like watching an action movie. The slow-motion was in her head, but the sound effects were real and so was the machete.
“You murdered my husband!” the man yelled, his deep voice bellowing through the empty room.
Dean looked up from the ground and touched the back of his hand to the corner of his mouth, dabbing at the cut and fresh crimson leaking free. “Husband, huh?” He laughed and rolled to his knees. “Didn’t think this town had much of a gay scene.”
The vampire sneered, revealing a mouth of vicious teeth. He growled and Dean popped up onto his boots, charging forward again.
Y/N felt as if her feet were glued to the cement, encased in fear and indecision.
She should run, that much she knew, but something held her there. Something told her that running was pointless. If she was going down, she’d go with a fight.
When Dean next hit the floor, the vampire turned his gaze upon Y/N and her stomach flipped. Her feet magically moved and she rushed forward as if puppeted by some Hollywood stuntman. She landed a punch, but it was mocked by a deep, blood-thick laugh and a return that knocked her to her knees.
“Y/N! Just run!” Dean was valiant, coming up behind the monster with tight fists and a shining blade.
“I’m not leaving you!” she yelled back. She meant it, but the justification was blurry. She didn’t know him, didn’t really owe him anything. What was keeping her from running away like a spring doe being stalked by a hunter?
In the brief moment when Dean looked at her, the upper hand was lost. The sweet smirk was knocked off of his freckled face and he hit the floor in a painful crash of flesh and denim.
Moved by some fateful force, the machete slid across the floor and landed at Y/N’s feet.
Her eyes narrowed on Dean who could barely lift his head as cartoon birds circled in his vision. She took a deep breath, squared her shoulders, and lifted the blade, holding it tight. Her knuckles turned white with the force and she reared back, ready to strike.
From the ground, Dean watched her attack. “Neck! Go for the neck!”
Feeling a step away from superhero status, Y/N swung with all the force left in her body. She closed her eyes as the sharp edge found its target and nearly retched when it slid through flesh.
The vampire roared in annoyance rather than pain. Y/N peeked an eye open to discover that the machete had made contact, but not much more, only penetrating about an inch into the vampire’s neck. She grimaced and yanked the handle, pulling the blade free.
Blood shot from the wound and Y/N gagged at the garnet fountain.
“I’m sorry!” she screamed, not sure to whom. If the vampire wasn’t pissed enough already, he was sure to rip her to shreds now.
As the fiend stumbled, Dean regained his wind and appeared at Y/N’s side.
“Takes a bit more force than you might think,” he said with a reassuring wink as he took the blade from her hand. “Gotta put your whole ass into it.”
Y/N hung back and stared while Dean demonstrated.
The vampire’s head rolled free from its pedestal and landed at her feet just like the machete had.
She swallowed hard. “I’m gonna throw up.”
Dean stood over the collapsed corpse and wiped the blade on his jeans. “Yeah, but you learned something.”
“Yeah,” she laughed, in shock and exhausted. “That the world is fucked.”
“Mhm.” Dean grinned and hopped over the body to stand by her side. “And what else?”
“Never half-ass a beheading?”
“Yep!” His wink was breathtaking. Even covered in blood and bruised, he was stunningly handsome and Y/N held her breath for a long moment.
“Dean?”
“Yeah?”
“Take me home before I lose my mind…”
Tumblr media
He couldn’t help but stare. It was almost unbelievable that she was there. After a decade, how was it that they randomly found each other again? Had she always been here, waiting tables and waiting on him? Did some turn of fate drag them together again?
Y/N exhaled gently and Dean sucked it in, breathing in the sweet air around her: coffee and french fries, and a hint of apple shampoo.
Time slowed down for them both and caught in its warm embrace, there was no other vision but the gentle smile on her lips, no other sound but the sigh she let loose.
Sam broke the trance, clearing his throat and starting the clock again. The earth seemed to lurch forward and Dean felt a pit in his stomach.
“Um, yeah, hi.” Sam looked up at Y/N, trying to remain kind but annoyed to be interrupted.
Y/N jumped back into herself and set the menus down unceremoniously. “Hi.”
Her eyes never left Dean and Sam wasn’t thrilled. He rolled his eyes and turned over the ceramic coffee cup next to the napkin holder before tapping the edge.
“Coffee. Please?”
Dean wanted to kick him, to castrate his rude brother with a switch shot under the table, but he held back, content to get lost in the memory of her.
“Sure.” She shook herself and smiled at Sam. “Sorry.”
Tumblr media
“You don’t have to stand in the hall, Dean,” she said with a small laugh.
Y/N ripped her keys from the apartment door and stepped inside. The lamps on either side of a lumpy purple couch were on and the small living area was bright. She sighed, happy to be home, and then gestured for Dean to enter.
He nodded with a smile and ducked his head as he stepped in, as if unsure of the height of the ceiling.
“Someone else home?”
She squinted in confusion. “No?”
“Ah. You left the lights on,” he observed, pointing at the lamps. They didn’t match and the shades were dusty, but it added to the effect, casting a soft light on a room full of hometown memories and highschool dreams lost long ago.
Y/N toed her shoes off and shrugged. “I keep them on so the bad guys think I’m home. Guess I should have realized that bad guys are outside too, huh?” Her focus faded as she spoke and her fingers pressed into the wound at her neck. “Is- is this all real?”
Dean chewed his bottom lip and sighed. “Unfortunately.”
“How do I- you- I mean… how am I supposed to deal with this?”
Green eyes swept her pretty face. He felt sad for her, but knew she’d be able to handle it. She was strong. Not strong enough to gank a vamp, but not bad enough for a first try.
“Well,” he said, pursing his lips to hide a sly smile. “I drink…”
Y/N smiled. “That I can do.”
She fetched too cold, brown bottles from the tiny fridge. Dean popped the caps free with a flick of his ring and Y/N stared at him in wonder. He was a mess. His jacket was too big, his jeans were ripped and falling down. Blood was smeared on his face and his hands were filthy. Still, he was cute. More than cute, if she was being honest, and she felt her face heat up whenever he looked at her for longer than a fleeting second.
He cleared his throat. “Here’s to not being dead.”
Dean raised his bottle and she tapped hers against it.
“Here, here.”
The necklace around his neck was twisted, and Y/N reached up to fix it, gently turning the cord until the knot was back in place against the nape of his neck. Her fingertips brushed through the short hairs on his neck and Dean sucked in a deep breath of her.
“Apples,” he whispered, startling her.
Y/N blinked up at him. “What?”
“You uh-” He looked away, feeling shy, knowing his cheeks were red. “You smell like apples.”
“That’s my shampoo,” she explained, dragging her hand down his shoulders and across, making sure the small, bronze pendant was centered. “I’m surprised you can smell it, I’m covered in muck.”
“The blood just adds to it,” he teased.
Her palm pressed against his heart and Dean wondered if she could feel it pounding away inside. He wanted to reach for her, to push his hand through her hair and drag her close, kiss away the trauma of the night, and lay her down.
Y/N felt it too, that undeniable urge to press up on her toes and lick deep into his mouth, but nerves pulled her away.
She let out a hard breath and backed away.
“I should shower,” she said, turning away and shattering the moment.
Dean shifted on his feet and looked over his shoulder at the door. “Yeah, I should probably get going…”
“No!” Y/N gasped at her aggressive tone and laughed. “I mean, just- don’t? You can, um… shower after me. I’ll be quick. I just- I…” She looked down at her feet and bit her lip, innocent and alluring all at once. “I don’t wanna be alone right now.”
His heart ached. “OK. Yeah. I uh, I’ll stay.”
He should have run. Should have dropped her off and left. Why did he have to walk her to the door? Why did he have to step inside? Why didn’t he kiss her?
Y/N smiled. “Thank you, Dean.”
Tumblr media
Y/N knew she was breathing heavily but she couldn’t control it. She tried to hold it as she filled the small white mug. The steam and her shaking hand made it hard to keep from spilling, but amazingly, she got through.
Dean was staring, she could feel it.
Was he going to say anything? Did she have to be the one?
Maybe he doesn’t remember. Maybe she got something wrong.
When she looked back, the green told her everything she needed to know.
Tumblr media
Y/N took a long sip of her beer. “Honestly, if you traveled back in time to tell twelve-year-old me that vampires were real, she would have been ecstatic.”
Thirty minutes later, the entire room smelled like apples and they sat on the ugly purple couch together, clean and damp from the hot shower.
“And now?”
“Not so much.”
Dean laughed and drained his bottle. “I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but somehow, the more you know, the worst it gets.”
Y/N considered his words and took her last sip. “So this is your life? You run around saving damsels in distress and killing bloodsuckers like Buffy?”
“Buffy? No. I could kick Buffy’s ass.”
Y/N laughed. “Yeah, right…”
She leaned forward and took his bottle, placing it with hers on the coffee table. The big shirt she wore gaped at the neck and Dean tried his best not to look, only sneaking a quick peek.
He adjusted his own collar, tugging it away from his throat. Either he wasn’t breathing too well or the cotton was shrinking. “Thanks for the clothes by the way.”
Y/N sat back. “Of course. Couldn’t have you running around naked.”
His mouth went dry.
“They’re my brother’s, if you’re wondering.” She leaned back and hugged her arms around her chest. “There’s no… guy or anything.”
He had been wondering and now his thoughts ran amuck. “Ah. Cool.”
“And you? You got a girl back home… wherever home is?”
Dean smiled sadly and shook his head. Where the hell was home? “Nope. No girls. Just me…”
“That’s too bad…”
Her voice trailed off at the end in a sweet whisper that had him leaning a bit closer. The ends of the couch were too far apart, driving them both mad.
Y/N shivered suddenly and quickly rubbed the back of her arms.
“Cold?”
Dean’s voice was lush with concern and she smiled shyly.
“A little…”
He opened his arms and she scooted across the cushions to settle against him. He was warm and solid; so gentle when he reached his left arm over her shoulder. His fingers hovered as if afraid to land before gingerly falling to cover her arm.
She sucked in a breath at the touch and Dean stiffened.
“Is that OK?”
She bit her bottom lip and nodded. “Yeah.”
His grip tightened; his breath calmed.
Y/N curled into him and laid her hand on his chest. It was intimate and delicate but Dean didn’t flinch. He closed his eyes and turned into her, resting his chin atop her head. Warmth and shampoo filled his senses and he sighed, content for the first time in a long time.
There were no screeching tires or screaming victims; no geysers of blood, no singed flesh.
It was peaceful. It was incredible.
Her fingers curled, bunched up the fabric of the plain white t covering him. She cuddled closer, needing him to take all the pain and fear away, wanting him to know how much she wanted him.
“You saved my life today,” she said softly as her nails danced across the dip in his clavicle.
Dean’s brain clouded with desire and he exhaled through puckered lips, trying to stay calm.
“That’s my job.”
“Another hour and I’d be dead.”
His arm tensed on her shoulder, drawing her even closer. “I don’t wanna think about that.”
She looked up at him, pretty eyes dimmed with arousal. “Me either.”
Heart pounding, he took a chance and dipped down to kiss her lips. It was slow and soft, dangerously electric. His right hand found her cheek; his thumb brushed over her lashes.
“Is this OK?” he asked, still somehow unsure even as she kissed him back.
Her breath swept across his plump bottom lip. “Yes.”
She tugged at his shirt again and parted her lips, dragging in a deep breath of him. He kissed her a second time and her eyes fluttered as sparks ran down her spine. He sucked at her lip, licked deep inside, whispered her name like a prayer.
Y/N against him and he lost his mind, shifting in his seat to push her back and loom over her. His hand trailed down her side and across her belly before slowly moving upwards. He pressed the flat of his palm against her breast and Y/N arched up into it.
“This OK?”
She laughed inside a moan and nodded. “Yeah…”
His fingers closed and she melted.
“Fuck…”
Dean kissed across her jaw, blew a hot breath over the outer shell of her ear. She tugged at his shoulders, dug her nails into his smooth skin, held her breath as he plucked at her nipple.
She was dizzy on his kisses, drunk on the heat between them. When he slid his hand to her thigh she sucked in a quick breath that gave him pause.
“Is this OK?” he asked again.
Gently laughed at his nerves, Y/N grabbed his wrist and pressed his fingers against her damp panties. “Yes.”
He rubbed a firm circle over her covered pussy. “And this?”
She spread her legs and nodded. “Yes.”
Through the thin cotton, he pressed his middle finger against her hole. “This?”
She shuddered. “Fuck. Yes!”
“What about-”
She stopped him cold, sitting up to grab his neck and pull his lips back to hers.
“What about you fuck me, Dean.” She licked at his mouth and his eyes glazed over with desire. “Is that OK?”
Dumbstruck, he nodded blankly.
“Good.”
She winked and his fate was sealed.
Tumblr media
His mind was reeling but his lips were failing him. Say something, you idiot!
He couldn’t move, couldn’t even blink lest she was a phantom and he had finally lost his mind.
They hung there in silence as the eons stretched out around them. It wasn’t slow motion, it was worse. Time had stopped entirely. There was only the two of them, existing in a void of remembrance and hope.
Tumblr media
Exhausted and sated, they lay on the floor, catching their breaths and fighting sleep.
Y/N tugged a crocheted blanket off the arm of the couch and fanned it out to cover them both. Dean bent his arm and tucked the throw pillow under his head.
Y/N snuggled her back into his side and Dean draped his right arm over the perfect curve of her waist.
Her hand covered his; their fingers fit together like the gears of a watch.
A watch that he’d have to check soon.
As if she could sense their time running out, Y/N squeezed his arm tight around her and sighed.
“Stay? Just for the night?”
He swallowed down all the usual lies; pushed away his father’s condemning voice calling him back.
“Yeah.” He pressed a kiss into her hair and bent his knees behind hers. “For the night.”
A yawn shook her and Y/N’s eyes fluttered closed. She smiled and wiggled against him, safe and happy, at least for a moment.
“We should get some breakfast later,” she sang, half in the arms of sleep. “I’m starving.”
Dean closed his eyes and wished he could stay.
Y/N’s breathing slowed and Dean laid awake, focusing on each rise and fall of her chest. He looked around the small room and wondered if he could ever really stay. Was there a chance here? A chance with her? Some magical new life waiting for him if he just took a leap of faith? Could she be the place he could finally call home?
No. It could never be. She wasn’t some ethereal beauty sent by God to tempt him away from his life. She was just a distraction. A beautiful, intoxicating distraction. And no matter what he felt in that moment, he knew it wasn’t love, it was comfort. It wasn’t forever, only momentary.
He was gone before the sun rose.
Y/N blinked to clear her head. She took a breath and smiled kindly at Dean.
“And what about you? Can I get you anything?”
Her voice rang through him like a church bell, calling him back home. Maybe there was a reason they chose this case, in this part of the country, in this sleepy town.
Dean smiled and took a leap.
“I don’t know but… I think I owe you breakfast…”
