Ah Elinor Hightower, the sweetest badass you’ll ever meet

Elinor Hightower

Elinor Hightower is the daughter of Lord Leyton Hightower and his last wife, Rhea Florent. She is well-beloved by her family, doted on not just by her mother and father, but her older siblings as well. However, she is particularly close with her mother, her shining light in the life that she had been forced into.

She served as one of Margaery Tyrell’s ladies during the War of the Five Kings and was part of the Tyrell retinue that traveled to King’s Landing after the Battle of the Blackwater. She was loyal to her lady and the Reach above all else, having not love for the Lannisters, and she became one of Margaery’s most trusted ladies at court.

When Nadya is brought to King’s Landing, Margaery has Elinor assigned as the head of her ladies, having proven herself more than capable of and trustworthy for the task. During that time, Elinor and Nadya grew incredibly close, as Elinor is quite caring and protective of her charge and her secrets, and Nadya is grateful to have another close ally and confidant at court. When Nadya suffers her miscarriage after Tyrion’s trial by combat, Elinor is there by her side. And when Nadya chooses to flee from King’s Landing to head North, Elinor chooses to go with her, despite Nadya’s initial protests.

Upon reaching Winterfell, Nadya does send Elinor away to keep her safe. I can’t exactly remember what I had planned for this part of the plot, but I think it might be having her stay nearby (maybe teaming up with Brienne, Podrick, and my boy Ryen) or something else.

Regardless, Elinor eventually reunites with Nadya after her escape from Winterfell with Sansa and Theon, and they continue to be a very iconic duo.

Later on (sometime before the Long Night/Battle of Winterfell), Elinor meets Gendry, who is immediately smitten with her. I’m still figuring out how their relationship will develop over time, but ultimately, after the events of S8, they get married, and Elinor becomes Lady of Storm’s End.

She has four children with Gendry: Edric (who ultimately marries Nadya’s daughter Margaery), Davos, Borros, and Rhea (who is named after her mother).

With her cunning, kindness, and bravery, Elinor proves herself to be the perfect match for Gendry and one of the best Ladies of Storm’s End that history has ever seen.

Mabel would definitely have a suppressed crush on Theresa, that manifests into jealousy when she has an affair with Criston. The LGBT Community of Westeros whorifying Criston Cole is a canon event, I don’t make the rules. Part of Mabel believes she’s jealous because Theresa is a legitimized bastard who got to marry not one but two princes, while she struggled to earn the name Strong and settled for Tyland. On the other hand, she knows deep inside it’s frustration from an unrequited crush (maybe?)

For Darren X Nadya, I would say it’s an arranged marriage. Darren would be distant and neglectful towards Nadya, like “you do you, I guess.” For the main reason, he’s attracted to poor, common women that he can’t have and wouldn’t be faithful. He also distances himself from people because of how unstable and intense he can be, so he’s afraid of hurting her.

WHO IS CHARLOTTE REYNARD?

Putting this here for people who want a (somewhat) quick rundown of Lottie's full backstory. featuring some Coruscanti worldbuilding, which I will definitely elaborate on at a later date.

TW: genocide of a religious minority, eye trauma

she was a foundling on the lowest levels of Coruscant, born at the tail end of 18BBY. she has no idea who her parents are.

she was dropped off anonymously to one of the many groups of Coruscanti, a religious minority group native to Coruscant. they named her Nadezhda, nickname Nadya or Lolli (red one).

by the time she arrived, this religious group was already heavily discriminated against. it would only get worse as she grew up.

to make matters worse, the Coruscanti were deeply connected to the Jedi-as the foremost forgers of weapons, the Jedi relied on them for well-built lightsabers.

the Coruscanti also have a connection to the force-one based around their hierarchy of gods. they had a reputation for taking in force-sensitive children; and there were rumors many Coruscanti were the bastard children of famous Jedi.

when nadya was twelve, the empire finally acted. uscru entertainment district was leveled. as far as nadya knows, there were no other survivors.

at the time of the bombings, nadya was recovering from an injury that cost her her left eye. she earned this during a coming of age ceremony.

this injury-the scarring of a left eye-was seen as an omen, as it matched an injury sustained by elene, a chief deity of the coruscanti. for nadya, it became a cruel irony; the gods chose her just before the gods were ripped from her forever.

after a year of living hard on Coruscant's lowest levels-where she learned that it was kill or be killed-nadya met the woman that would become her adopted sister/mother figure; pazima reynard.

under pazima she became an assassin (a Fox...the girl cannot stop joining arcane orders) and joined the rebellion at thirteen, glad she could use her talents for swordplay and the righteous anger she felt for good. here she took the name lottie reynard, to downplay her connection to the Coruscanti.

during the rebellion, she created a found family; Pazima, Wedge Antilles-Pazima's erstwhile husband and her surrogate father-and Jax Fraga, a boy her own age who became her best friend. they formed the fox squadron.

just before she turned eighteen, she met a pilot named Luke Skywalker. when he blew up the death star, the orders from the Fox Squadron's mysterious Rebellion financier came in; protect luke skywalker, at all costs.

and that is where our story picks up! as she grows closer to luke, she will find out more about her own identity. luke and lottie's story is a mirrored coming-of-age tale, as they both discover their own destinies and fall in love along the way.

Rules: give us your characters' names and definitions and vote whether or not they fit the meaning.

When I choose the names for my character cast, I usually try to consider the sonority of it, but also the names that would fit the time period, how it fits the character's personality, and the vibe of the world the story takes place. Most of the times I do search for character names with a certain meaning in mind, while some rarer times I do not.

Julyan - (A variation of the name Julian) The name Julian basically means Jove's son, but it is linked to the meaning of youthful, dedicated, and devoted, but also the word shiny/bright.

9/10 It's pretty perfect for the character of Julyan Ashiren. He's a very dedicated and devoted person throughout pretty much his entire life, especially when it comes to family. After his parents died, he raised his sister and later on their adoptive brother to the best of his ability, even though he was barely an adult himself. Plus, he has a very lively personality among those he trusts, so the "youthful" description of his name is rather accurate too.

Raelen - (A variation of the name Raelyn) The name Raelyn means, in general term: beam of light, divine light, embrace and it also can mean ewe of the lake (due to the names it is derived from).

8/10 Rather accurate as well. In the series, Raelen is also Mageborn with connections to the fire sources - though not nearly as much as Julyan - and her role in the coming war is literally tied to the meaning of dawn. She is also a very bright and energetic person, so I would say that the name fits the bill!

Vallerius - A Roman/Latin name that means: strength, power and health. The name "Vall", which is his nickname in the series, is also associated with the meaning of valiant, and brave.

7/10 It works. Vallerius does have a very brave personality, especially when it comes to saving others and protecting those he cares about, and he does have an obsession with always seeming unmoved by things that bother him (being strong for the sake of others).

Ansell - A variation of the name Ansel, and deriving from the Old German name Anselm, this name literally means protector, helm, "with divine protection".

10/10 It's one of the few names that I deliberately chose for its meaning. In TLW Ansell serves as Princess Ellinor's knight and bodyguard, being her protector at all times, despite the princess being a trained assassin. He is also her closest friend and most trusted confidant throughout the books. Not only this, but Ansell has a very selfless and noble nature, being willing to sacrifice his well-being if it means others will be safe and protected, something that worries his friends a lot.

Jamie - This name means "he who supplants", supplanter, the one who replaces. It's also, in real life, a short form of the name James, but this isn't the case for this character, as Jamie is his given name.

6/10 I mean, it fits, but it's not that amazingly connected to his story, it just sounds right for the character. He does "take his older brother's place" (replace) as the one who protected them both after Zephyr was cursed, but that's it. In TLW Jamie would never purposefully replace/take the place of someone else unless it was for their own good or if they asked him to.

Nadinne - A French name that is a variation of Nadya, but also commonly used in Arabic, that means hope and messenger.

9/10 Fits Nadinne's character pretty well honestly. Everything about her personality is centered around having hope for a better future and believing that there is still good in the world. Also, she happens to be a link between one of the character groups and the rebellion, which is befitting of her name's meaning of "messenger". And, after she falls in love with Morwan, she makes it her life's mission to make the jaded warrior learn that there is still hope for her future, she just has to just to follow it.

Sybil - This is a name that means prophetess and oracle, as well as to a sense of mystery and alluring.

7/10 As a bard whose lyrics often speak against the current status quo, the meaning of alluring, but also of oracle/prophetess is quite fitting, even though she does not possess such gifts. She also happens to be best friends with one of the last living Fae in the world, which does add to the mysterious sense of her name.

Peregrine - This is such a perfect name for this character. It literally means traveler, foreigner, or wanderer.

10/10 When the story starts, Peregrine has been wandering the continent for the past recent years of his life, hoping to find a way to redeem himself for his dreadful mistake. Also, even before he was put in this situation, he was a very restless teenager, filled with a sense of wanderlust, as if his mind could never quite be tamed in one place.

Trystan - A variation of Tristan. This name means sorrowful, sad or melancholy. It is also associated with the legends of King Arthur, as Tristan was the name of one of his knights.

7/10 It fits, surprisingly. In TLW, Trystan is a knight, a Mageborn knight who takes his duty very seriously. I mostly chose his name due to its association with the legendary knight, for that reason. But in TLW, Trystan does go through more than his fair share of tragedy and sorrowful situations, which did cause him to despair/lose hope more than once, especially when he is captured and tortured by the Morosyn Empire. He also knows that, should he sacrifice himself, such is his duty to the Order, and that he shouldn't hope for rescue (he is wrong, because his brother and their friends would go to hell and back to save him). He's not depressive, just unhealthily fatalistic.

Yuna - This name means superiority; gentleness; kindness; desire. It also means dream, illusion, and visions. This name has mostly Asian origins.

5/10 I MEAN... Yuna is a mystical character, especially coming from a line of sorcerers and runic weapon smiths, but that girl is FAR from gentle and subtle. She is very blunt and to the point, so the name fits partially, but not nearly quite as the others.

Task Force 831, better known as Team 831 or the 831, was a group of American Special Forces soldiers led by Captain Phillip Graves. Active for roughly five years before the unfortunate death, injury, and disappearance of them, the squad handled sensitive and dangerous operations outside of the United States, mainly in the countries of Adal and Urzikstan, with minor missions within other west Asian, Eurasian, South American, and European countries.

Captain Graves enlisted several decorated forces to serve under him in the force. Lieutenant Rose Achebe, Lieutenant Marisha Gallagher, Sergeant Tahoma Johns, Sergeant Isabella Okazaki, and newly promoted sergeants Angeline Navarro, Rodrigo Cassidy, and Nadezhda Said.

Other teams and staff largely regarded them as never being anywhere without another-- the task force were at each other's hips all the time; eating together, training together, etc. Often on breaks, they'd spend plenty of time at Graves' house in Austin for get together, weekend trips, BBQs, you name it!

Rigo was largely labeled as everyone's little brother or the baby of the team. He never seemed to mind it and actually, maybe even enjoyed the pampering and babying from his friends. Rigo's callsign used to be "Teddy" considering how soft the 831 was on the guy (he's largely just called by "Rigo" now). He was obviously deemed "Class Clown" in his senior year's yearbook!

Nadya, Nads, Nadder-- the firecracker of the 831. Previously deemed [callsign recall failed, reboot system and try again later], a title well-earned for her strength in the field, she was the life of the motherfuckin' party. She was always on booze for the 831 parties and always knew the best places to get food. Smiling from ear to ear constantly, those outside of the 831 hardly saw her without the blinding grin. Known in high school as "The Emo Kid."

Angeline, Angel, Angelina-- the gentle giant of the team. Towering over plenty of the other sergeants, her 6'2 stature often scared the living shit out of those on the battlefield. Callsign "Maverick," she'd sweep through buildings in minutes, wiping out anyone who stood between her and her team. ...But she was also the 831's beauty specialist. Gentle, steady hands could do the finest eyeliner and best contouring you could ever see. Though she was quiet, the affection she had for her team was obvious-- this loving, caring woman spent her breaks from the military fostering kittens. Voted most likely to go into professional sports because of her height in high school.

Izzie was the team's gym junkie. Christ on a cracker, this girl never drank alcohol, never (sometimes) went to be late, never touched anything that could've even been deemed unhealthy (think of her as the ultimate health nerd)-- and she did what she could to keep the others on the same path. Izzie "Legs" Okazaki could power through a hot battlefield and make it out the other side like she was Secretariat, corralling the rest of the team into safe positions while she laid down cover fire. Was Prom Queen her senior year!

Homa, Johnny-- he was definitely the heart of the team. A bit of a worry wart, the firearm specialist had a heart of gold amongst the blood and guts of the field. "Birdie" had an eye out for his team at all times, firing a shot into the head of anyone who stepped too close to his armored companions. It was impossible not to like him, but damn... did he love a little gossip. This boy was pretty and popular, winning Prom King in his junior AND senior years of high school.

Mari was a bit skittish in her years as a lieutenant. Sure, she was strong, commanding, but she held a secret insecurity that was chipped away at by the support of her captain. Graves knew she had some doubts, so he did everything he could to encourage the woman, turning Marisha into the headstrong Lt. "Textbook" Gallagher for her strict regiment toward the rules and precise knowledge of military action and code. Luckily, she's largely been called "Gallagher," or "Galla," since her time as a Captain. She was captain of the Mathletes in her middle and high school years.

Rose, Rosie-- aptly given the callsign "Thorn," was probably the most lax lieutenant you could have. Pretty much owned the phrase "if I didn't see it, I don't care." With that being said, she was well respected because of her hands-off style of leadership. She was held as a responsible guide, letting the lower ranks fuck around and find out, then teaching them how to not do it again. Loved by many, the woman made sure to keep the anxious members of the 831 as chill as possible. Oddly enough, she was voted for "Teacher's Pet" in her yearbook!

Finally, Phillip Graves, the kind-hearted Captain of the 831. He collected them with the hopes to turn them into a strong, powerful team, and boy, was he not disappointed. He cared for each of them like his own children (since his actual kids ended up being taken in the divorce), making sure they always came back in one piece. It's a wonder as to why he didn't cry when he found out their helo had crashed in an untrackable location.

Вот только занудный коллега был столь обходителен и мил, что между ним и Надей вспыхнула любовь. (But the boring colleague was so courteous and sweet that love broke out between him and Nadia)

Однако он выбыл из Любовных игр, поэтому Надя отправилась в ЗАГС, чтобы выбрать себе мужа из оставшихся двоих претендентов. (However, he dropped out of the Love Games, so Nadia went to the registry office to choose a husband from the remaining two applicants)

К сидящему в одиночестве Филе подсела на место невесты миловидная дама. Ох, Надя, не стоит супруга оставлять без присмотра, угонят же! (A pretty lady sat down by the lonely Filya in the place of the bride. Oh, Nadya, don't leave your husband unattended, she'll steal him away!)

Филя решил порадовать Надю, подняв за нее тост. (Filya decided to please Nadia by raising a toast to her)

Но обрадовало Надю лишь окончание этого балагана. Занудный коллега тоже был доволен, что победа Фили была омрачена холодностью невесты. (But only the end of this farce made Nadia happy. The boring colleague was also pleased that Filya's victory was overshadowed by the coldness of the bride)

Okay, because we are both using Holiday Grainger as an FC for something, & both sharing the name "Rhaella" for an OC I MUST know about your girl. Please info dump about Rhaella Targaryen to me

Oh my god, absolutely!!! You shall have ALL the lore about my lovely, somewhat deranged Targaryen girl! (Also I gotta say I love your Rhaella and your Holliday Grainger OC so much)

Technically, I have two versions of her, so I’ll share about both lol

Rhaella in the ATRF continuity:

Rhaella is the daughter of Alistair Dormaire and Daenerys Targaryen and the older twin of Alysanne Targaryen. She is named after Daenerys’ late mother (this is true in both continuities).

As the eldest child of Daenerys, Rhaella is heir to the throne of Meereen and is sent away from Westeros shortly after the death of her mother to learn how to rule. For a while, Daario acts as her regent. Grey Worm is also loyal to her and acts as the head of her guard, and both men teach her how to fight.

She becomes Queen of Meereen as soon as she comes of age, and she’s pretty damn good at it.

She’s very willful and headstrong and will do what she believes is right, no matter what other people tell her. She’s a lot like her mother in that regard.

She marries Garlan Hightower, her sworn protector, and they have two children together, Viserys and Rhaenys.

Still figuring things out for her in this version of her story, but she’s definitely more tame in this one.

Rhaella in The War of Two Queens (collab) AU continuity:

In this version, Rhaella is the daughter of Daario and Daenerys, who is now known as the Veiled Queen (she was revived by that one Red Priestess in Meereen but no one except for Daario knows about it). She is their only child and the heir to the throne of Meereen.

Her father also trained her to fight, and her weapons of choice are two Dothraki arakh. She is lethal in battle, but one would never know it just by looking at her. To most, she’s just a pretty face, but she hides much underneath.

Although known for her beauty and grace, Rhaella has quite the rebellious streak, much to the pride of her father and chagrin of her mother. It is not uncommon for her to sneak out of the palace to explore or vanish from diplomatic meetings she finds particularly boring.

She first comes into the story when one of Nadya and Jon’s sons, Theon, flees to Meereen from King’s Landing, seeking aid from Daario and the rumored Veiled Queen. He’s almost instantly smitten with Rhaella, by both her beauty and her rebellious nature, and she quickly falls for him too.

It is Rhaella who brings Theon to Drogon in order to tame him, as was the boy’s mission. She had already managed to hatch a dragon of her own, a wiry red she-dragon named Skydancer, after having failed to tame Drogon herself in her youth.

Not long after that, Rhaella and Theon are married (talk about a whirlwind romance), and after some time together (they also have two kids with the same names as her other version) and a lot of convincing, Rhaella pledges Meereen’s support of his mother’s claim to the throne of Westeros.

However, this is when the cracks in Rhaella begin to show. She is just like her mother. She’s got that Targaryen madness in her.

When she gets to King’s Landing and sees the Red Keep for the first time during the Second Battle of King’s Landing, something in her switches. This was meant to be her mother’s kingdom. It was stolen from her. It was stolen from her family. And she intends to avenge what was lost.

Riding on Skydancer, she starts to burn the Red Keep and parts of the city, with the intent of killing every single member of the side of the royal family who stands against her (which would be Nahia Dayne’s family for the most part) and razing the city. Realizing her sudden change, Theon and his twin sister Margaery, who had also acquired a dragon named Eddarion (long story), are forced to confront her.

Theon tries to get her to see reason, but it does not work. Rhaella refuses to be stopped. A dragon fight ensues, and Skydancer ended up being killed by Eddarion. Rhaella is able to jump free of her dying dragon onto the Red Keep and manages to get inside.

Although she fights against several members of the royal family in the Red Keep, her final confrontation is against Genna Westerling, Theon’s betrothed before he had fled and now a trained member of the Faceless Men. After a fierce battle, Genna puts a sword through Rhaella, killing her and ending her very brief reign of terror.

Basically, she seems sweet and good-natured until she’s really not lol.

Ok damn that was a lot more lore than I thought I had lol. Rhaella’s kind of crazy (most of the time), and I love her for it. Thanks for asking! I love any excuse to talk about OCs!

Meeting both Vesta and Bonita, in the same part of the British wrestling circuit, the three became friends fast, during that time she also met Damocles.
