buraya epeydir okuduğum kitaplardan atmadığımı fark ettim. Bilimkurgunun en insan, en edebi halini okudum Wells sayesinde. Farklı bir deneyimdi, güzeldi. Çeviriyi de başarılı buldum. Tavsiye ederim içtenlikle..

Title: The Island of Dr. Moreau (1896) Author: Herbert George Wells Vote: 7.5/10
How far can man regress before he becomes an animal and how far can the beast advance before he is at the level of the human mind? Useless question because a lion, even if intelligent, will remain a lion, but Wells still wanted to try to answer by providing Professor Moreau with a scalpel, lots of money and a sick mind. The dear professor explains his experiments to the readers with satisfaction, illustrating his own noble objectives that will turn against him until he is condemned to death. The line between man and beast is very thin but wanting to cross it or worse forcing someone to cross it against their will is even worse.

"H. G. Wells had a strong understanding of science due to his studies in biology, and this helped ground his stories in realistic detail. This instilling of realistic, commonplace details, alongside extraordinary assumptions and fantastic flights of imagination, led Joseph Conrad to call Wells the Realist of the Fantastic. Works that he called scientific romance show the extent of his genius and the wide-reaching impact of his revolutionary works."

LIBRO PRIMERO
LA ALBORADA DEL ALIMENTO
CAPÍTULO I
- Herbert George Wells

Quote
As night goes round the Earth always there are hundreds of thousands of people who should be sleeping, lying awake, fearing a bully, fearing a cruel competition, dreading lest they cannot make good, ill of some illness they cannot comprehend, distressed by some irrational quarrel, maddened by some thwarted instinct or some suppressed perverted desire.
H.G. Wells, Men Like Gods
