i'm curious about all the wips! but what about 'Coruscant Bound: A Barghest's Adventure' and 'Magnus Rex Apocolypsis'?
Oh these are definitely a treat (at least to me personally since in one I get to write from the perspective of an animal, and the other is a G/T fic where I get to be especially mean to one of my blorbos from my shows ahah...)
Coruscant Bound: A Barghest's Adventure
In all honesty, she hadn't understood what was wrong or why Mum had been so angry at their mate. The man looked terribly startled when they'd come at him, teeth bared and tongue sharpened with rapid barks so very full of hostility. Beau had been quite shocked. So had Mum's mate, who'd gone from looking surprised to looking just about ready to cower with his tail between his legs!
Since then they hadn't gone to see him. Their walks had never lead them to cross paths with him either. Not even when she could smell the delicious scent of the treats he carried with him in the distance. If anything the smell made Mum walk more briskly and as far away as possible.
It confused Beau further. It also concerned her greatly.
Her Mum was happiest when they were with their mate. Ever since they'd gotten upset with him, they hadn't been happy at all. Beautiful missed seeing them happy and at ease. She really hoped today's 'Flimsywork' wouldn't take long. Mum needed to see their mate soon, or else they might never be happy ever again.
And that was not acceptable.
Magnus Rex Apocalypsis
Rex had checked the cups and the bottle's seal. Had made it look like he was worrying for her health and safety. Mostly he was just worried she might have been trying to slip him something while he wasn't looking. And it turns out he'd been right to be paranoid. He just never considered that the Titanians would be so bold as to pre-poison their own wine in the vineyards.
A rookie's mistake on his part.
So constant were the quarrels and antagonistic sentiments, that acts of warfare and instances of social struggle were heavily ingrained in the culture and practices of Titania itself. So much so that the arts, literature and fashion trends were heavily stylized around these very topics.
You quickly grew accustomed to the prevalent shades of red and depictions of senseless and domineering violence plastered everywhere. From theater posters with obscene names, to paintings in museums full of gory imagery, to the splatter patterns and sharp shapes on a youngling's finely crafted clothing.
How could he have never considered the very idea of poisoned wine opened for special occasions? Alpha-17 surely would have smacked him on the back of the head if he could see him now.

7 and 9 for the fanfic ask game, if you feel like it!
(Yet Another) Fanfic Writer Ask Game!
7. What’s a troupe you love to write?
I love writing time travel but a recent, somewhat unfortunate fascination has been dubcon of the "[thing/person] made them do it." Mutual noncon with attempted negotiations where people are trying their best to make it consensual but the situation is Hell.
9. What’s your favorite line(s) or scene(s) that you have written?
I get this question regularly and I can never decide but uhhhh probably the "Jango first runs into Ahsoka&Rex&Leia" scene in Auntie Soka and Little Leia (and Rex).

to answer your question about order 66 from your tags on that one post, before the episode in tcw where the concept was introduced, the inhibitor chips were not part of sw prequels canon. instead my understanding is that it is implied (and explored in a lot more depth in legends, as far as i know) that the clones are really just that conditioned to follow orders. the jedi never see the betrayal coming because in the eyes of the clones it isn't a betrayal - the contingency orders they follow are there for a reason, and their job isn't to question that reason, it's just to carry them out. "the jedi are committing treason? sure, just tell me when to shoot!"
to be fair i think the fact that a lot of them are conflicted over the order is also something explored in legends, but i haven't read enough to get to that bit yet.
tags in question: my star wars knowledge of the prequel era is Bad but i remember being extremely confused when O66 happened and i don't think it was explained in the movies? so was the concept of the chip already in play or was it added afterward?
That's kinda what I thought; the chips felt a little bit like a backpedal. Don't get me wrong I LOVE them, bc I love traumatized space marines and unwilling mind control and deep emotional turmoil, but it seemed more like a belated response to the very valid question of 'hey why WOULD a bunch of soldiers who seem to be on good terms with their Jedi actually be cool with murdering the lot of them?'
tho ngl the non-controlled mental conditioning THAT would have required could be interesting to explore, however i like the brain chips better

Winged heart au
Wally, waking up because he heard something move in his room: what time is it.
Dick, shocked: I didn't know you were awake.
Wally, sits up, sleepy and has a headband pushing up his hair (thank you Jay!!!): light sleeper, why are you doing here, normally don't come around while I'm asleep.
Dick, holding the information that someone wants the doctor but don't know who yet: couldn't sleep, thought I checked on you before going back home.
Wally, looks at him suspiciously: feels like bullshit but too tired to fight, so... Wanna sleep here then? *Scoots over, pats bed*
Dick, smug: so you do want to sleep with me, huh?
Wally: take this offer before I take it away.
Dick, getting into the bed: okay okay, thanks.
Wally, lays back down: yeah, yeah, shut up and sleep... Goodnight, wing.
Dick, smiles: goodnight, doc.
Jason, on comm: *fake gagging*
Bruce, sighs: I told you not to get involved... Dick?

Bruce: fine, I'll get him tomorrow.
Tim: oh! OH! So when he sees HIS redhead soon to be boyfriend we can leave him alone, but I can't see my actual boyfriend because I have work to do. I'm leaving.
