Daily Check-in: May 20, 2024 🎀

omg it'd almost the end of May, what the heck? I'm so excited, I leave to Colorado for my 8 weeks of work very soon and I can't wait! it's going to be such a cool experience being in a new place for a while!

Monday was a good day. My dad and my boyfriend both think I overdid it on the physical exertion a bit, and I agree. I took a long walk, outside, in 95 degree heat, with no sunscreen. Which is why they said I overdid it because my chest and shoulders are sooooo sunburnt. But Monday was amazing! Started off strong, ended not as strong but still good!

🩷 What I Accomplished:

~13k+ steps for the day

took an hour and a half long walk outside(it was amazing, I loved it, I stayed hydrated ans soaked up all the sunlight and fresh air)

completed a 30 min beginner pilates workout from Move with Nicole

did my morning journaling and gratitude

wrote down a positive quote of the day and read through my journal where I wrote down some things that I want to read daily

read and "annotated" 14 pages of Atomic Habits

took a 20 minute power nap

worked a ~6.5 hour shift

drank at least ~80oz of water (that's pretty good given I used to drink like 20oz a day and wonder why I never felt good)

took my two medications + vitamin D supplement

took a cool shower and washed my hair at the end of the day

went to sleep early!

💞 Good Things That Happened

my friend and a supervisor im close with complimented my appearance in a way that gave me a confidence/motivational boost

my other friend and I decided we're probably getting our nails done together next week

that same friend ^ and I are going to go shopping next week as well

my work is going to schedule me where I can still go to brunch with my dad on Friday!

my man starts his first day of work on Tuesday (I'm so excited for him! It's gonna suck not being able to text him all day, but I'm so proud of him for getting this job and all the progress he's made)

got complimented on how efficient I was at work by the night shift supervisor

ate goods that made me happy without feeling guilty or anxiety about it

💔 What Could've Gone Better

I over ate a bit at night after work and felt kind of bloated and sick when I went to bed. it's okay tho, things happen, and Tuesday is a new day <3

super sunburnt!!!! my chest and shoulders are bright, bright red! and I'm a naturally pretty tan person, so seeing my skin that red, yep, I'm definitely super burnt! need to wear sunscreen and protective clothes when I take a shorter walk on tuesday

I definitely overdid it on that walk. got too overzealous and pushed myself a lot. my legs were hurting so bad by the end of the day and that's not good. as much as I enjoyed the walk, I need to be so much more kinder to and thoughtful of my body. it does a lot for me, and I need to treat it right <3

💗 Stuff For Tuesday

take a shorter walk outside in the morning

read more of Atomic Habits (and annotate)

begin studying Spanish some more (fell off the habit but I have a lesson next Tuesday the 28th, so I need to be prepared!)

do some gentle morning and night skincare (my face is a little red from yesterday but not too bad since I wore a hat during my walk)

do my morning beginner pilates and gratitude journaling (I've already done these as of right now, but I struggled with the so-called "beginner" pilates video from IsaWelly. practice makes perfect, tho so I've got to keep consistent!)

book nail appointments with my friend for next week (hopefully the nail tech/nail salon I go to has availability for her and I to go together! I also need to pick the design i want!)

budget for this upcoming paycheck and what I need to save vs what I'm going to spend (and need to buy)

work a ~5 hour shift

talk to my man over video call at the end of the day to see how work/training went for him (it's his first day of work, but it's a hands on training kind of day for him as well)

what an absolutely amazing song omg. aespa literally never misses with their music. I almost put Spicy, but I've been obsessed with Supernove since it dropped. I love it so much <3

IM SO EXCITED FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!! 🎉🎉

little hcs that i’m pulling out of my brain just for you:

-steve likes coffee but only the really expensive ones directly from italy or spain when it’s not even processed and he has to grind the beans himself. billy thanks that’s pointless and would rather eat the bean whole then go through the process of grinding it and steeping it and everything

-tommy and billy are nap partners. like steve only sleeps at night because he needs that structure for life but tommy and billy are little goblins who knock out if they stand still for too long. it’s also the reason they’re so close: an acccidental nap can change everything

-billy mixes gold and silver jewelry and it drives steve nuts. he wears his gold necklace and his silver earring and steve just doesn’t get that (and with the double denim? really??)

- tommy’s skin care routine is to forget to wash it for three days straight then take a shower and rub the shampoo a little farther down his face when washing his hair. steve has a 8 step process for what he puts on his face in the morning and a slightly altered version for night. steve gets pesky pimples all the time but tommy’s skin is the smoothest and least pimple-y at school. steve holds a not so secret grudge

-even tho steve’s a little rich boy, it’s tommy and billy who splurge on pointless items even when they don’t have the money to do so. steve feels like a mother when they go grocery shopping and they try to buy half the candy shelf at checkout

-Steve is definitely the type of person to drink fancy expensive coffee and dress it up so it's barely coffee by the time he's actually drinking it. Billy takes his with 2 creams and 4 sugars and can tell when it's not those exact amounts. Tommy takes his coffee like a mostly normal person, but practically collects coffee syrups. He's got all kinds of weird flavors that Billy and Steve insist do not belong in coffee like raspberry or root beer or gingerbread.

- This made me think of the episode of Friends when Ross and Joey did the same thing. I imagine it went down exactly like that the first time. Tommy is a nap king and takes one almost every day and Billy just doesn't get proper rest so these two kill the nap game.

- Billy has a great sense of style on the surface, but if you look at him a bit longer it just kinda makes you go what the fuck and that is exactly Steve's reaction. Until Billy gets dressed for a date, in which case you will never hear him complain ever

- Tommy has such naturally great skin and even a lot of the girls ask him for his routine and make the most horrified faces when he tells them. They usually turn around and ask Steve because he puts in the work to look that good.

- Tommy and Billy are still kind of stuck in their ways of having the emotional competence of of a brick wall. They just don't know how to tell people they care about them. They communicate more in gifts, even if it's like a literal hunk of coal that one of them found on the side of the road. Tommy also has a major sweet tooth and very little self control and Billy doesn't really get that kind of stuff super often, so they both find themselves going nuts whenever they pass it. It's also very important to never take Billy shopping before or right after a workout because he will buy so much food and eat half of it on the way back.

Some more for you!

- When Steve is washing dishes he'll just turn the water to a temperature and rinse them off, using soap in there's something visibly on it and then just putting them in the cupboard. Billy, however goes all fucking out. I'm talking specific water temp, soaks them first, rinses anything off of them, washes them with soap, rinses them of again, washing any that he feels need a second go, and then letting them air dry or towel drying them if he's gonna use any right after.

- Tommy loves blowing bubbles and finding fun ways to catch them

- the three of them once pooled money together to buy a cake to just eat for no reason and they were definitely high by the time they got around to actually eating it so you can bet the cake was gone in half an hour. They later agreed to do it on a regular basis

- Despite being a swimmer, Steve gets swimmers ear every summer without fail and it's the worst thing. It gets even worse when he and Billy hang out and he finds out Billy's only had it once and never again

Day 3

- woke up at like. 8:30? - went to a breakfast place in Salida, CO and. it was AMAZING,,, well worth the wait - the waitress at the breakfast place was cute and i really liked her hair. its what i wanna do with my hair - then the drive to the Royal Gorge Bridge - the drive was beautiful bc we were going right through the mountains and next to a river and. it was so pretty - my grandpa saw an RV while he was driving and he said “Oh, a big RV. a Big Boy” and i screamed. has this 65ish yr old man been watching/listening to McElroy content bc it sounds like it - they were doing road construction and so at one point the highway was a 1 lane highway and. my grandpa didn’t see the construction worker with the stop sign. so he just kept on driving toward head-on traffic and then got yelled at by a construction worker - Royal Gorge Bridge !! - the Royal Gorge Bridge is stunning and cool and while we had difficulty parking (it was busy today) ! it was so amazing - my grandma has bad knees so she like. didnt walk with us :/ but ! later she bought herself a lil go-cart and drove around the bridge and found us - walking across the bridge was rad and looking down at the river was !!!!! - i got so many more pics guys im gonna post them either tomorrow or the day after - a really super chill and amazing funny woman photobombed my family and. i love her and aspire to be like her - fun fact my great grandpa helped build the royal gorge bridge and i found a pic of him - SURPRISE BIRD SHOW !!! - i really love birds and i found out more facts about birds - after the bird show i watched an educational video about the bridge and history and geography - then i went to the play park area with my siblings and made a cool wax hand thing (Live Long and Prosper! it was that or a peace sign) and!! i got to mine for cool rocks - the guy that helped me make my wax hand was really sweet and cute and !! also since im a difficult lil shit i wanted my hand to bea certain color combo and !!! it actually turned out to be that color and he was so nervous it wouldn’t be what i wanted but!!! it was!!! so my dude, if ur out there reading thru this, IT TURNED OUT GREAT THANK YOU I’LL POST A PIC LATER - after that my family and i got a cardio workout and walked up a very steep incline to get to the gondolas over the bridge - the gondolas were SUPER COOL - i saw someone’s phone falling down the cliff and. yikes. that’s rough, buddy - i got a cool shirt !! - my family then left bc a storm was rolling in. fun fact thunder sounds very weird on a gondola when ur suspended 1000 ft in the air - we stopped at another gift shop tho and i found a cool rock with a dragon silhouette engraved and painted into it and u best bet i bought it - then began the 2 hour drive to the town we’re now staying in - its my aunt’s hometown fun fact - my grandma is back at it again complaining about the hotel bc its. not as nice as the first 2 we stayed out but. its actually? not that bad - i had taco bell for dinner bc im a basic binch and the guy!! at the drive thru had such a nice voice and then at the window he was really sweet and kind and holy heck he was also !!! CUTE. i lowkey love him - my mom and i went on a driving adventure thru this town and. i found a halloween shop? i want to go there in the morning - my sister threw a fit bc she wanted to sleep next to my mom but my brother already was so. shes now sleeping next to me - my sunburn is still there but i wore hella sunscreen today so it didnt get worse - im gonna sleep ? now (at least try to) bc. tomorrow is the 13ish hour drive back
