I’m realizing I never shared these doodles from April lol. Just Alfred/ USA and some of the undeniably Appalachian states being Jonah/ West Virginia, Maisie/ North Carolina, Betsy/ Tennessee, & Roy/ Kentucky mostly circa early 1800s. Early frontier and wars with indigenous nations, Alfred spent a lot of time with these states. I’ll try to keep everything brief cause lol I do have a lot of Maisie-specific lore that can be better expanded upon another time, but I wanna share them cause why not
Alfred went from being this grumpy New Englander to being a bit more lighthearted and more like the funny charming Alfred of today, and a lot for that happened cause he spent so much time with these states especially Maisie/ North Carolina who’s quite friendly, very confident in herself and isn’t afraid to speak her mind or share a couple of jokes. Alfred doesn’t like Maisie at first cause he thinks she’s uncouth and insane. Maisie thinks Alfred is an uptight little bitch. But Alfred and Maisie eventually develop feelings for one another and Maisie becomes his first love. However, Alfred and also Maisie are extremely stubborn and neither are afraid of confrontation- this eventually leads to the breakdown of the relationship.
Alfred also from spending time with all of them learns a lot of new musical styles and actually it brings him closer with many southern states that aren’t in Appalachia and western ones as he expands. This is where he begins becoming less of a New Englander and slowly learns to accept new ways of let’s say being American so he begins to grow into the national rep.
Hm ok so some of this I’ll explain more when I work on my revolution arc- but the short version is many of the east coast states are slightly older than Alfred. And they barely agreed to put Alfred in charge especially cause he’s very aggressively a New Englander. So southern states especially aren’t his biggest fan and are rather hesitant.
Jonah/ West Virginia not being a state for much of the early 1800s yet existing as a representative of then his older brother Rich/ Virginia’s back country led to him develop a bit of a chip on his shoulder. And he sees Alfred as an outsider so he doesn’t particularly like him.
States like Betsy/ Tennessee & Roy/ Kentucky are super young during the early 1800s so not much to say about them. Actually TBH I don’t have much information for either Betsy or Roy other than Betsy is a Melungeon & plays the mandolin and is very musically gifted. Roy plays the banjo. I think Jonah plays the fiddle and Maisie plays the guitar.

In a way I can't explain, Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan is Clark Kent's song, Alfred F. Jones' song, and my song. All in different ways.

I would like to introduce you all to my beloved sunshine boy, Tennessee !!
His full human name is Andrew Bellamy Crockett, but he just goes by Andy. He's the 31st oldest state and celebrates his birthday on June 1st. He's physically 20.
Andy is a complete passionate sweetheart at heart. He is insanely polite, well-mannered and courteous, even more so than the majority of the other states. He may be rarely passive aggressive, but don't let that fool you- he knows how to creatively insult those who push his buttons. He's friendly, welcoming, compassionate, hard-working, adventurous, curious, energetic, optimistic, honest, loyal, faithful, fun-loving, good spirited, caring, generous, helpful, hospitable, warm, genuine and charming. He's a very kind and honest guy with strong values and even stronger morals, and he tends to dislike those who don't. He's community oriented and very loyal. He's also a huge softie who takes in pretty much any stray animal he comes across. He also knows very well how to charm people and make a good impression. Some other fun facts about him:
He's 5'7 and a half, or 172 cm in height.
He has roughly 2a type hair that can be described as shaggy.
He is the younger brother to Arkansas, and the older brother to Oklahoma.
Outside of his indigenous languages, he speaks English, Spanish, French and Arabic fluently, and speaks some Mandarin and German as well. However, he knows how to sing in several languages.
He is probably the world's biggest music fan, lol. He is a very good singer and he's very talented in several instruments, including but not limited to: the guitar, banjo, fiddle, violin, piano, saxophone, drums, bass, harmonica, flute, mandolin, organ, keyboards, tuba, clarinet, lute, bassoon, trombone, cello, harp, trumpet, french horn, bagpipes, bongos, oud, lyre, xylophone, pan flute, piccolo ukelele.
His favorite music genres are country music, rock n roll music, blues music, R&B music and bluegrass music. He also deeply enjoys Americana and folk music as well. It's nearly impossible to find a genre of music he doesn't like.
He is always more than happy to share his music, food and culture with others.
He is a very good cook.
He's best friends with West Virginia and Kentucky; the three get together with Virginia to play music.
He is always up to trying new things.
He has a deep southern accent.
He's happy to get down and dirty and is quite good at physical labor, but he simultaneously puts quite a bit of effort into his appearance. Whenever he is not doing physical labor, he's consistently well-groomed and neat.
He's very good at handling spices, and actually really enjoys spicy food.
He wears his hair in a ponytail in the city, half up when in the sticks, and fully down when he's at home or at a friend's.
He values honesty, integrity and loyalty above all else.
He really enjoys hard work and physical labor, and he really likes working with his hands on things.
He can actually be very mature when the situation calls for it.
He's a foodie with a big appetite.
He is a very doting brother.
He likes to own livestock and have farms and gardens at his houses. He often grows his own food.
He's almost always in a good mood.
He's actually a fairly good writer, as well. He writes a lot of songs, too.
He is very religious.
He loves hosting people and loves tourists.
He is a huge animal person with a huge soft spot for strays. He regularly adopts animals and sometimes volunteers at local animal shelters.
He has a guitar and flowers tattoo on his left shoulder.
He's very good at holding his alcohol.
He can see ghosts.
He's not good at dealing with snow.
He loves playing sports.
He can make some damn good moonshine.
He knows his way around deer and bears.
He is absolutely obsessed with Dolly Parton.
He's always more than happy to strike up a conversation with a stranger or host a large gathering.
He's actually generally hard to genuinely upset- unless you insult his music.
His likes include: Music, whiskey, Dolly Parton, country music, rock n roll music, blues music, R&B music, bluegrass music, Jack Daniels, BBQ, moonpies, biscuits, football, caving, hunting, animals, playing music, singing, hiking, swimming, fishing, sports, tailgating, spicy food, spicy chicken, musicals, theater, kayaking, canoeing, the outdoors, being outdoors, fried chicken, cooking, eating, orchards, gardening, wine, music festivals, live music, concerts, biking, cycling, home cooked meals, the Smoky Mountains, cowboys, western films, writing, baseball, small music clubs, cozy things.
His dislikes include: Immoral people (specifically mean, callous, dishonest, disloyal, etc); cockroaches, bugs and spiders
That's all I have on him right now, but I am always open to any and all suggestions, especially from people who live in the state!

I am a multi-muse! I’m simply lacking in time management skills to actually get all of my graphics and whatnot update since mushing all of my muses into one blog on top of Noel’s old one.
My URL is an attempt to be Clever and cover many bases at once. Each muse comes with a “pun” of sorts that can play into the main url. Nicholas, Noel, and Daniel are the primary muses, with the others available upon request.
Age of Sail ;; Noel Thomas Mercer - Modern England. (1648-Present).
Born in the middle of the seventeenth century he, was born into the latest era in which a peasant boy could hope to ascend to a gentleman’s title – with the only route of option being that of becoming an officer in the Royal Navy. While born a human, the lack of one of England’s representatives tolled on the Kingdom and required a new one step into Nicholas’ place. Having proven himself to be what constitutes an ideal Englishman - loyal, gritty, fiercely devoted to his King and Country - Noel was granted the life of an Immortal. And he complains about every moment of it.
Age of (chain) Mail ;; Sir Nicholas William Grey - Medieval England/Plantagenet England (1048-1514)
Born in the late 10th century, he came to represent the Kingdom of England under the guidance of the royal family Plantagenet. He served as a personal, immortal bodyguard and advisor to the Kings of England throughout the medieval era until the aftermath of the War of the Roses & the rise of Tudor England left him so disconnected from his kingdom that he could no longer serve. Some say he still haunts the Tower of London to this day, but modern sightings are incredibly rare.
Age of Rail ;; Daniel Aleksander King Hill  Fitzroy - Manhattan/New York/The United States of America (1627-Present)
Born and soon orphaned in the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam in the early days of its conception, adopted into the British Empire, he learned and grew with the fledgling colony and developed a right love of the ideas of equality and fairness. He was loyal to the crown and fought desperately to keep order within the colony, to stamp out the Rebellion. However, the will of the People won out, and Daniel found himself growing ever prouder of his People as time went by. America itself went through many tests in its time, questioning what was right and what was fair, the struggle of embodying an entire nation is not an easy task, but the weight has fallen upon his shoulders.
Non-primary muses, in order from most to least developed.
Gabriel Emmanuel Hill, The American Southwest/Deseret/Utah. (Daniel’s son!) Bradley Marion Walker-Rhodes, Appalachia/Tennessee. Rhydian “Rhys” Eurig Mathonwy, Wales Jonàs Immanuel Federer, Switzerland. Noah Jack Martin, Australia. (Noel’s son!) Ferdinand Muyskens, Belgium Thore Taubel, Brandenburg Thiel Joachim Semjezaheit, Prussia Santiago Tercero del Oroitz, Spain. MacKenzie James Hudson, Canada Richard Adlerstahn, Austria Johannes Becker, Steiermark Matthias Andersen, Denmark Special case: Milovar Menowen, Latveria. (Fictional country in Marvel Comics. I’m very undecided if I want to actually have him here???) Please note that my personifications are NOT the Hetalia character - and in most cases (particularly notable with Daniel!) they have almost nothing in common with their Hetalia canon counterpart. My muses are intended to co-exist with Hetalia muses, NOT replace them! Noel is of lower rank than Arthur, but still a representative of England, likewise for Daniel to Alfred. All of my muses have highly specific origins and if needed for comfort, they can pass as representatives of “lower” rungs on the ladder, ie Daniel a representative of New York, Noel is Northern England/Working Class, Noah is Queensland, etc.

Wanted to practice diversifying my hands and accidentally designed some States into peoples(hetalia OCs????)???? Lmao it was fun tho, especially since its my home state and current state :)
I based South Carolina a lot on what I saw in downtown Charleston growing up, specifically down by the harbour/aquarium, at the market place, and nearby the college and dorms. Her moles represent Patriot's point and Fort Sumter, very important historical sites that I went to a few times myself! She loves herself some fried seafood and good ol glass of iced tea on a summer's day down by the docks. Ah... It was fun to reminisce about home while drawing her. I miss the biscuits and boiled peanuts :(
As for Tennessee, I mostly looked things up since moving here a few years back I haven't really gotten out much because its pretty expensive where I live. Anyway, the butterflies represent Dolly Parton as I just could NOT leave some inspo from her out!! She's not only a big star of the state but REALLY big in my town! I couldn't figure out a way to tie in the state's nickname, "the volunteer state", so I gave him a bandage and hoped it'll look okay. As I haven't seen many locals I kinda just looked up male celebrities and noticed a pattern of button up shirts. I also couldn't figure out a way to add in something to rep the Country Music Hall of Fame in there but I like to think he either carries a banjo(fun lookin instrument :)))) or a guitar with him.
Not sure if I'm gonna clean em up and color em any time soon. I have a few other ideas I wanna get down first so ye~

The song “American Money” by BØRNS really reminds me of Romerica. Maybe because Romano’s eyes are green in some of the official art?

David (Tennesse) calls it T/Testosterone, but Henry (Kentucky) calls it "David's Androgynous Adventure Potions" and that's why he does not go with them for HRT anymore
Is Henry aware I'd die for him?

May I see Tennessee. I would love to know if they ever are getting a Nyo. Also if they are I believe they will have long brown braided hair that is curly, freckles, Tennessee whiskey colored eyes and wear Tennessee vols shirts, blue jean shorts, brown cowgirl boots. She will also have a strong east Tennessee accent like from Knoxville county and be lesbian

ofc ! here's my tennessee, lovely boy. his name's andrew "andy" crockett and he's the younger brother to arkansas, but older brother to oklahoma.
he has straw blond hair and light brown eyes, and is a bit short at 5'7.5" or 172 cm- he's literally in between italy and romano's heights. he's generally on the thinner side and struggles to gain muscle, but he is surprisingly strong for his build as well.
he's a genuinely nice, friendly, welcoming and compassionate guy- he's actually one of the politest states out there. all about that southern charm and hospitality, he loves hosting people and goes out of his way to make sure those around him are doing well. however, while he is rarely passive aggressive, he absolutely knows how to very creatively insult people if they push his buttons.
he really, really loves music. he's into many genres, such as country, rock n roll and the blues. his favorite artist is ofc dolly parton (he adores her so, so much) but he does really enjoy others like tina turner, aretha franklin, bessie smith and many others. he has a vast knowledge of music and the genres of country, rock n roll and the blues; he even knows how to play some music himself.
He's also into BBQ, caving, playing football, the outdoors and whiskey. He prides himself on being a bit of a whiskey connoisseur. He speaks English, Spanish, French, Arabic and a few Indigenous languages fluently. He speaks some Mandarin and German as well, but nowhere near full fluency.
He likes keeping his hair at shoulder length. He doesn't usually do much with it; he'll put it up in a full ponytail in the city, and a half up half down style when he's in the sticks. When he's at home, he wears it down. His hair is slightly shaggy in its style, which he likes. He's grown his hair much longer and much shorter than shoulder length, but that's his favorite style.
He spends most of his time outdoors or enjoying music. He owns five houses- in Memphis, Chattanooga, Nashville, Rutledge and Flag Pond. He spends the most time at his houses in Memphis, Nashville and Flag Pond, but especially at the latter two- he goes to Nashville when he's in a big music mood, and Flag Pond when he wants to be surrounded by the outdoors. He knows his way around the outdoors, and spend a lot of his childhood in it. He's in the younger half of the states, being physically 20 years old. He doesn't have a strict fashion sense either- while he does most often wear decorative tees and loose, scuffed up jeans, he pretty much will wear whatever's comfortable. He does have a good amount of specifically outdoorsy/caving/mountaineering clothes, along with a small amount of more western-y clothes like cowboy boots or stuff made specifically for horseback riding. He has a significant number of musician/band tees, though- ranging from his favorites of Dolly Parton and Aretha Franklin, to Tina Turner and Besse Smith, to even Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake.
Overall, he's a polite, well-mannered, friendly, welcoming and warm state that's easy to get along with !
