For I have commissioned the creator of the show to do a peice with my ship-
I kid, I’m not trying to claim some arbitrary superiority; but I am beyond elated with this commission I got from @dinoraye himself! It’s so adorable and colorful and sweet, I love it so so much 💕💕
Thank you again Raye for the amazing work, I’m so happy to see Cori brought to life in your style 💙🖤
tbh hgs makes me wish that rosemary's mom was just some nobody guardian equivalent to a foot soldier and not actually important on a broad scale.
Like I think it would fit better, since it doesn't feel like much actually comes of making her out to be important. It'd be equally meaningful, if not more, if she's only important to her loved ones.
Rosemary could then feel like she has something more to prove, just some untalented nobody struggling to make a name for herself, struggling with feelings of inadequacy, and secretly fearing that maybe Amaryllis is right to look down on her.
It could be more self-evident that all the bluster is basically just one big coping mechanism, and that deep down she's keenly aware she's not that great and is just desperate to cover this up in front of others.
April O'Neil's junior year of college is up, and she is determined to have a fun and sexy summer where her life's at risk no more than twice a month. She just didn't think it would be so hard.
Cassandra Jones is feeling the pressure. Raph just got a girlfriend, and now April is talking about dating too. She's just trying to keep up with her peers, but as per usual, she's eating their dust.
(April and Casey match on a dating app. Somehow this doesn't make things easier.)
I'll give HGS this...at least it's original. Yeah, it's not great, but I can see where SOME people could like it. I don't think it's good, but it's not too offensive...at times. It's just boring.
Meanwhile, Mindy Kaling literally had EVERYTHING laid out for her, considering the numerous adaptations and development these beloved characters have been given. ....Yet she decided to ignore ALL of that in favor of creating some stereotypical, cookie-cutter characters and slapped the names of the originals over them. Just to get people watching the show.
Representation should not be the selling point of your show. Same with HGS' main selling point was women writing and animating the show. Like that's great and all that Velma has a diverse cast....now is it any good? Is there a plot? What are you offering that's any different from any other race switch show like She-Ra? At least they didn't advertise it with some half-assed "meta-humor" about the races changing.
Also...
Velma: Most of our classmates are stupid, so let's assume they're high.
Norville: You do know what 420 is right?
Velma: Yeah, it's code for adults that still watch cartoons.
When is this joke gonna die and when will they stop insulting their own audience?
Ugh, okay, I wouldn't usually do this but hey, it doesn't hurt to try. I'm participating in a contest and if you have Discord, it would be great if you could help me.
My story is number 32!!!
My story is in Spanish, although it is not necessary to read it but it would be great.
Sorry, I would like to win, but aaaagh I feel terrible doing this lmaoooo
I would like to do something for the people who vote for my story if I win, maybe give them a drawing or something like that.
