Online Promotion Launches for Boys Love Game "Taisho Mebius Line" Anime Shorts Adaptation

Late last year, HolicWorks, a PC game/drama CD company speializing in female audiences, announced that Taisho Chicchai-san (tentative title), a five-minute short anime based on its boys love game series Taisho Mebius Line, was in development for this year. While further details are still TBA, a site and Twitter account launched today.

    Taisho Mebius Line was first released as an adult PC game by LoveDelivery in December 2012. Then Dramatic Create released its all-ages version for the PSP in February 2014 and for the PlayStation Vita in January 2016. The story is set in the end of Japan's Taisho era (around 1926), and centers on the protagonist Kyoichiro Hiiragi who can see ghosts, and his relationship with the people around him who also have unusual powers.

  While the game tells a more serious story, Taisho Chicchai-san is expected to be a comedy series featuring deformed version characters, like the recent OZMAFIA!! TV anime adaptation.

  Tohoku Penet (Gakuen Handsome) is confirmed to work on anime production.

Crunchyroll Adds "Taisho Mebiusline Chicchaisan" to Fall Simulcast Lineup

Crunchyroll is proud to announce its latest Fall season simulcast addition in Taisho Mebiusline Chicchaisan. The series will be available to Crunchyroll members worldwide except Asia and will premiere on Friday October 6th at 7:30AM PDT.

  An extravagant Taisho romantic action-drama begins. 

It's' the closing years of the Taisho era, a turbulent time when the military empire of Japan is rising to go to war with the world. The protagonist, Hiiragi Kyoichiro, has come to the Imperial Capital, Tokyo, to attend Imperial University. He is determined to pursue a scholar's path and become a great man back in his hometown. 

But now the Japanese army has set its sights on Kyoichiro, because of a special ability that he possesses. As a result of a terrible illness from his youth, Kyoichiro gained the ability to see the spirits of the dead. 

The army wants to use these spirits, which to Kyoichiro were always a thing ot be feared, in order to counter the threats of other countries. Others stand in the way of the military and its plans. They involve themselves in Kyoichiro's destiny, and begin to change the future of the empire.
