Someone upgraded to having some off leash freedoms this past week. He has proven that he currently will not run off after people, bikes, dogs or wildlife that are 50' or more away. He actually hasn't tried to run after anyone except those within 10' but I'm not going to test anything below 50' at this time. He can hold a sit or down while people pass within 5' though which is stoked about! Dogs need about 15-20' to hold but still impressive.
So when we are out in remote places where I can see people way before they get close to us, he can be off leash.
His recall is pretty fantastic at the time and he does stop and check for us, though currently he likes exploring a bit farther ahead than I would prefer. Which is fine for big spaces like this one but not so great for more dense areas. We are working on that though.

It’s been such a wave of emotions lately. With Dexter passing away it’s been so hard to function, but my fur babies have really helped me through this rough time. I know he’s enjoying all the scratches & treats up in the stars 🥹
Enjoying adventures in honor of Dexter, my gentle guy 🖤
Nestled in nature's embrace, this candid moment captures the pure bond between a dog and their human. Beyond the horizon's grandeur, this furry friend finds their whole universe in the loving gaze of their owner. It's a beautiful reminder of the simple, unwavering love that pets bring into our lives.
