Approximate Route that Napoleon took from Elba to Paris in 1815:
Includes alleged newspaper article titles recounted by Alexandre Dumas.
I’ve never read any of Dumas’ books, but was he mildly obsessed with Napoleon? All the time I see stuff he wrote about him. He wrote a whole thing detailing the Paris apartment Napoleon lived in during the early 1790s. He wrote plays about him, included him in his books, and even researched newspaper titles about him.

"Crimean Khanate at 4 points in time.
Orange filling = Crimea 2nd half of the 15th century
Yellow border = changes by the end of the 15th century (Ottoman Intervention)
Green border = by 1550
Blue border = by 1600 (first fully bordered to be taken with a grain of salt)" - 27.01.2022
"I actually had more sources but just didn't bother adding more layers to it. Some places especially along the coast only got a yellow border - it didn't change unless painted over. It did not have defined borders in most areas until very late." - 27.01.2022
"also mind you not all Crimean Tatars lived in the khanate, especially westwards there were people living formally speaking under other political entities. (only formally because at least for those that were nomads there are no borders)" - 27.01.2022

The current location of Dracula's ship (Oct 24) is sailing across the Dardanelles strait. Still many nautical miles away from the Varna port:
The Czarina Catherine hasn't entered the Black Sea yet, but it's crossing a historically crucial strait, one that connects Europe and Asia.
So it hasn't arrived in Bulgaria, and it should take a couple of days or so to reach Varna.

Geospatial model of the Roman World.
Want to know how long it would take to get from what is now Yorkshire to Rome in the first century? And the best route? And the expense?
If you are a historical novelist and you haven’t encountered this interactive site, you need to. It’s centered on the Roman Empire, but with care this info will translate to other eras.

"Quick map I made showing the area of origin of the East Germanic languages in pink, semi-fading since concept of land use differed & it's impossible to know borders.
In cards are given possible locations, -timeframe & -causes of the extinction of select East Germanic languages." - 13.12.2021
"In brackets is information that is uncertain. Also keep in mind causality issues - like say for example some languages might have never gone extinct due to adopting Latin in the first place had they not seen expulsions by other tribes moving westwards in the first place." - 13.12.2021
