On this day in 1884, Monty Fitzgerald was born

A mischievous, restless and insatiable man, Monty could be a trickster in a fantasy world. But in real world, he is a fashionable columnist, a curious and excitable fellow, but most importantly, a friend and devoted lover to his secret husband, Henry.

A few facts about Monty:

He loves to buy extravagant things on a whim, simply because they seem beautiful or interesting to him, and he is unstoppable when Henry mentions that he likes some thing in a shop – Monty buys it in mere minutes.

This also leads to him getting interested in different activities, from archery to gardening, but he often abandons his hobbies within weeks, if not days. But not gardening. Monty adores their home garden and is proud of their flowers.

Monty collects all sorts of souvenirs from their travels, so the house is decorated with countless knickknacks, postcards and photographs. Saving memories is one of the most important things for him.

Thanks to Henry Monty learned to sit more or less still for five minutes instead of two. This is a big achievement.

Curiosity killed the cat and almost killed Monty several times, but this didn't stop him from trying out dangerous things. Or making them dangerous.

Cooking is one of the rare chores Monty never avoids. Well, it isn't even a chore, it's a pastime, and wonderful at that. It allows to cuddle and bestow kisses, to chat about everything and make food together. Henry is a better cook, because until meeting him, Monty preferred to eat in cafés and restaurants, and his best dish used to be omelette. But he is a quick learner and Henry is the best teacher (he is a professor for a reason). So they cook together or for each other, and this cooking is better than any signature dish in a posh restaurant. Because it is peppered with love which makes everything times and times better.
