Welcome to my Homestuck Reading Blog

In my blog, I will read the entirety of Homestuck for 100 pages a day, but with a twist. Geno from Super Mario RPG will be giving a recap.

It should be noted that I cannot download the unofficial Homestuck collection, so I will either be using the website or the old mspaintadventures.com, so don't expect any openbound, instead, Geno will explain what happened.

I will also be reading HS2 and reblogging other Homestuck analysis posts.

so homestuck is a big deal for a lot of people but if really feels like it was a "you just had to be there" sort of thing. (I was not there and barely know about it beyond what you get by just existing on tumblr) I'm curious if any of you know people that have dived in and "read" it all in recent years. How did they do it? How was their experience? Is this something that is even possible? How so?

#I don't have much interest in reading all of Homestuck but I will always be curious about it as landmark of internet culture #I'm curious about the process of catching up on big Texts like this #It opens up so many questions about art and messages and meaning and culture #my blog

This moment is so cute.

It shows fucking humanity.

Jake, unprompted, still asks about drinking her water, testing it for poison. He knows it's not poison, he knows it's not anything to be worried about, but he still wants to ease her fucking senses even if he wants to stop her insane fascism. He still cares.

And Jane sees this, recognizes this, recognizes her paranoia and Jake's willingness to help. She fucking thanks him and smiles.

It's just.

I don't.

It's WEIRD. IT'S NICE. IT'S FUCKING STRANGE AT THE END OF THE DAY. They care about each other but it doesn't feel like the relationship is like... healthy? Even still???

But she's so god damned obsessed and in love with him that almost anything he does simply doesn't fucking matter to her. As long as she's with him. Hell, she could figure out he was a resistance member and simply go "Oh Jakey :B" and let it fucking slide. She knew about him staying with John for fuck's sake.

it is funny to me that people will insist homestuck "always referenced memes" because (1) hussie specifically created sbahj so that he WOULDN'T have to do that (and then sbahj became an actual meme because he's just that good) and (2) if you want an mspa that explicitly references memes and internet culture, problem sleuth is right there.
