WIP Wednesday

A preview of the next chapter I'm working on - Bull's POV of escaping the Nightmare in Here Lies the Abyss, ~600 words. Cw for language.

"Oh, shit," Bull repeated, this time out loud. Ignoring the cacophony of pain from dozens of wounds, he groaned and regained a battle stance. Survival instincts taking over even as his mind raced to take stock of the situation.

Alive, but not safe, not yet. "You think that pain will make you stronger?" Bull suppressed a deep, repulsed shudder at the echoing memory, still too fresh to ignore. The voice that had boomed through his marrow, shaken his bones, stuck like a barbed arrow in his brain. Didn’t matter now, not here. The demon was on the other side of that rift where it belonged. And where it would fucking stay, as soon as the Inquisitor slammed the door shut behind them. They'd fallen back into the middle of the battle, the courtyard full of their forces up against the Wardens. His sword was still in his hand – somehow he'd kept hold of it despite everything. The sounds of clashing steel and distant shouts, the heat and choking smoke roared into focus, drowning out the remnants of creepy Fade dissonance still buzzing in his ears. Shriveled, drained bodies of Grey Wardens sacrificed to blood magic lay strewn at their feet. The air smelled of blood and ash and fear-sweat, but it was real. He could deal with this variety of hell just fine. The others who'd survived the Fade scattered around him like so many broken toys, disoriented and shell-shocked: Solas, Sera, Hawke… A slow, dawning horror began to creep in as he realized. The Inquisitor wasn't among them. "Come on, El," Bull muttered, eyes on the giant rift. He thought of every time she'd thrown herself recklessly into battle, every self-sacrificing impulse he knew her to possess. "Damn it. Don't do this. Come on." And then the Inquisitor came flying through the rift as if violently thrown. As if he'd spoken it into being. She skidded along the ground, bloodied and gasping, but moving, alive. Alive. Relief flushed through Bull's extremities, making him weak with it. El coughed and pushed herself up with effort. Her head lifted, and she found him in the crowd, their gazes locked. Time froze for an instant. Something flashed between them then – shared terror turned relief. Grateful recognition that somehow, they'd both survived. Then a grim determination lit her eyes, and the Inquisitor rose to her feet, staff held tight in her hand. Their job wasn't over yet. Inquisition forces and enemy Wardens began backing away, their mouths agape, shocked into temporary ceasefire at the arrival of the Inquisitor through the rift. “Do you think you can fight me? I am your every fear come to life! I am the Veiled hand of Corypheus himself! The demon army you fear? I command it. They are bound all through me!” Voices in his head. Demonic roars, skittering clicks like nails on wood, shouts at his back. Bull hadn’t waited around to see what had happened to the Warden. He hadn't needed to. The Inquisitor raised her left hand into the air, the Anchor glowing green and crackling. Cullen had shouted her name from the ramparts, and now every eye was on her as she closed her fist and yanked at some magical, invisible tether. Instantly the demons and abominations in the yard fell like puppets with their strings cut, their essence sucked back to the Fade. Freed of his influence, the mage Wardens possessed by Corypheus stared dumbly at each other as if rudely shoved out of sleep. It was over. Just like that. A chorus of victorious cheers rang out from their forces, carrying high into the night. Meanwhile Bull scanned the surroundings for any sign of his Chargers. You jackasses better be alive, or I'm gonna be pissed.

At first, I thought that losing my hearing would be better than losing my sight (and I still think that) but then I started thinking about all the implications more.

Like, if you lost your sight, you wouldn't be able to see anything (obviously) and that would mean you'd have to get used to using an aid, taking things slow, and not being able to see the beautiful landscapes or scenery. You'd never be able to see the faces of the people you care about. You wouldn't be able to read anything or see art or pictures or people anymore.

But, on the flip side, if you lost your hearing, you'd have to learn a completely new language (which I wouldn't mind honestly because sign language is cool), you wouldn't be able to listen to music or anything, and you wouldn't be able to hear the voices of the people you care about either.

So, to answer your question (lol) I'd rather lose my hearing.

I did not mean for this to get so long (I apologize 😅), I just started thinking about it more in depth and realized how different life would be without just one of your senses. So, props to everyone who lives through life like that, y'all are amazing, inspiring, and so strong.

You know what I've just realized... Today marks a month since I shared my Luaisy post, the one of Luigi serenading Daisy, which was the very last thing I shared on my old blog.

And I'm not even close to have it ready to repost it in this new blog.

I'm really so sorry... I have to admit, after this month, I really miss writing. And reading. And sharing my content and seeing what you guys think of it, and reading your stories/headcanons and sharing my opinions on them.

It's been a goddamn month. I need to fix this already.

Don't know if you guys remember, but I had SO many writing plans. Tons of Luaisy content. A Luaisy fankid. An AU. A Luisley story. A story based on my musicians headcanons (which, btw, I have yet to reply to those of you who reblogged it... I'm a mess lately and I'm SO sorry).

And it's all been paralyzed during this past month because I wasn't in a good place whatsoever. I still have a lot to deal with, but I must say, thanks to you all, the Mario Brothers and seeing my favorite band live again... I finally feel so much better 🥰

The thing is, I'm still gonna be busy in the weekdays. But I'm really gonna try and be more active on weekends. I'll try to see all the content I've missed as well as slowly but surely bringing my own, even if right now I can only bring back the stories I posted a few months ago. As well as my Luaisy post of course.

And hopefully... just hopefully... maybe soon I can get back at writing again and, at last, bring a new story. Just hoping 🤞🤞🤞

If any of you guys are wondering about the sudden fanart/AI lately, I’ve actually been writing about 4-5 chapters that are still roughly about 4-5 chapters ahead alongside chapter 15😅😅

I’m so sorry!! My scheduling is chaotic. I just had time on my hands after surgery to really flesh through the timeline I had roughly drafted, but hopefully this means updates might start being able to come out faster! So most of these posts are just generated for character inspiration that I thought were cool to share…and also just purely having fun talking to incredibly talented artists about how cool these guys are, lol. I hope no one gets too upset about it, I know there’s a lot of people getting impatient.

I watch on my tablet, since I don't live in the US. I can only watch it a day later. I wake up every Friday and the first thing I do is download the episode, so I can watch it when I have time in between work.

Nope, I mostly watch it somewhere in the morning, so usually I just sit down on the couch with a coffee in hand and watch it. I do always take some tissues with me in case I have to cry. 😋

I watch alone. I hate it when people start talking when I'm watching a show or movie for the first time. So, I always watch alone.

Well, it depends. Last season I sometimes asked a mutual to drop a couple of spoilers about certain topics in my inbox for some of the episodes. I went spoiler free for the finale I think. All the previous seasons I just went on Tumblr first and then watched the episode fully spoiled. 😂 I'm planning on watching season 8 spoiler free though. I have some hopes for this season and I'd like to be surprised. 🤞🤞🤞

Well, I watch it in its entirety for the first time. Then afterwards, I watch again in pieces so I can write down my thoughts about it and post it on Tumblr. If it's a really good episode, I might rewatch it again during the weekend. But after that I'm focused on the next one. Once the entire season has aired, I usually do a complete rewatch.

Well yeah. Of course. Sometimes I do a Buddie only rewatch of the best Buddie episodes and skip to all the big Buddie moments. 😏

Depends on how my day has been or on my mood. I love comedy, but I also love drama. So, I don't really have a preference.

Complete excitement! I start theorising and analysing straight away as well. The further into the hiatus my frustration grows though, because of the 'not knowing', you know?

No, they should leave it as it is in my opinion. I don't want them to milk the concept and make it into something it isn't. So no movie for me, thanks.

Pfff, well: I'd love to see Bathena retired and happy. Both Athena and Bobby really need to let go of their jobs. Enough already. Let them truly enjoy their life together. I'd love for Henren to be happy with Denny and Mara, just living their life together, enjoying the little things. I would kill to see Hen as the new Captain of the 118, taking over from Bobby. Then Madney. They are finally in a good place. Let's keep them there. I would love for them to have another child. They could adopt and give that child the best life they could possibly have. As for Buddie... I want to see them happy together. Just them and Christopher. Maybe another child in the future, but not yet in the series finale. It might be implied though. I would love to see them married and settled, making each other happier than ever. They would live in a new house. After Buck sold his loft they lived in Eddie's house for a while, but with their plans to expand their family they eventually move out to a bigger house.

Otakon 2023 Wrap-Up Post!

Otakon 2023 was this past weekend, and I gotta say I had a great time! (if that wasn’t obvious. From the deluge of posts about the digimon movie redubs). That was the main reason I went this year, and the screening took up a significant portion of my time there (WORTH. EVERY. MILLISECOND.), but during my one day I was able to blitz through the main halls as well. And I met @ahiddenpath ! That was AWESOME!!! She’s incredibly sweet, and we got to walk through Artist Alley together and talk (irl!!!) about Digimon, fandom, and life ☺️

My con haul!! I was like, “eh, it’s not that much” but some might beg to differ, including me, now that I look at it all together 😅 Most of it came from the Dealer’s Hall. There is one vendor who is a huge Digimon fan herself and sells a TON of amazing digi-merch, and that’s where most of my money went, ahahaha. She not only had some amazing hard-to-get figures and blind boxes (the Adv. kigurumi figures and Piedmon keychain set), but some Frontier 20th Anniversary merch as well! HOW CAN I SAY NO TO THAT??? Unwrapped Jyou was the same price as a random blind box, because she said no one wants him and she always has extras! Can you believe it?? JYOU! 😭 Hidden and I agree that she’s not reaching enough of this audience on Tumblr, because HOW DO YOU NOT LOVE JYOU? Look at his face! He HAD to come home with me 😤

Ahem. Anyway, I found those oldschool Fox Kids-looking vinyl clings at a separate stall that sold a lot of vintage 90s stuff. Dub merch!! I do have a small collection of that.

The pencil-board… folder… thing… is two-sided and I believe it was originally an extra with a specific issue of Animedia that covered both tri and Appmon! I had to. Because APPMON (also I do love that tri art) 🥺

Some close-ups of the small stuff! The resin statue of the mountains came from Artist Alley (actually, a friend of Hidden!) because it reminds me of home. I also really liked the moon-shaped pendant. And a citrus pin! MY BRAND!! I have a shirt with Togemon on it (the cactus), but I have a hard time finding citrus merch, so YES, I can now rep my full screen name in an outfit 👍👍👍 One lone Goomy pin is my sole Pokemon purchase this year. “Hen with a Tie” cracked me up (if you’re an anime dinosaur like me, you know), and the Mimi button was actually a gift from Hidden! 😭

Finally, Takeru and Jyou side-by-side, where they belong ☺️ The contrast of their poses/expressions cracks me up!

So there you have it: the results of an intense and incredibly exciting digi-day! I’m still so shocked that my local con got this amazing premiere, and I got to watch the whole thing (er… when I wasn’t live-texting information to certain people who couldn’t be there in person, lol!). I’m SO incredibly grateful to the Discord group for notifying me about it, because otherwise I probably wouldn’t have even gone to the con at all this year!

Really hoping I can see my OG con buddy either at Otakon 2024 or her local con, so she can take a well-earned break from being a new mom and join in on the fun! 🤞🤞🤞

i don't like/use gallery that much so i don't upload sims there i'm afraid. i might do some sim dumps in the future here on tumblr but i have nothing particular planned as of now. i have a sim downloads page on my blog though (i only uploaded a few sims so there isn't much yet lol)

maybe i might do some kind of big singles sim dump for lovestruck and throw in some of the sims i already posted about but i'm still not sure if i wanna get the pack. so yeah... a lot of "don't know's" for now sorry V.V

hello! i apologise that this is somewhat late... if you honestly ask me life has been hell for me LOL 😭 (word vomit incoming beware guys) which was one of the reasons why i've been on an unnoticed hiatus lately. this is like the first time i've ever opened my socials in over a month???? i think because i just truly needed it for my health 😞 i had a bunch of complications with my intestines that my hospital was basically my second home, and i was just recently discharged and sent home to fully recover (honestly this shouldn't be a surprise coming from a fanfic author this is like our canon event) and senior year has been TOUGHHHH i've been struggling a whole lot trying to catch up on everything i've been missing out during my absence.... and now i am torn between continuing being a writer or just.... quit 💔 i do love doing what i do and posting here it's just that i never have time for it anymore and that i lose motivation way quicker than i did a year ago😕 but hopefully i don't!! i'll most likely just have a long hiatus until i finish hs (which is in just a few months yippee i'm free) or i will try to squeeze in some time in my schedule to get some things out of the way **cough **cough the alhaitham everything has changed fic 😢 also thinking of dropping asphodelus,, only because i have completely forgotten the whole plot and i have no idea where it's going... but we'll see uhhh anyways yeah this is long as hell i hope you don't mind 😭😭 i hope you're doing great!!!! i miss interacting with everyone here ehdhhhhh i hope i can be more active now that i'm slowly recovering 😞🤞 and for others reading i hope you're doing fine as well :P always take care of yourself and have a happy weekend 🤍🤍🤍 feel free to come by my inbox and say hi!!! i'll try to reply as soon as i can hehe
