This 1924 uh, er...roof is a bargain for $240K. It's located in Garden City, KS and has 2bds, 2ba.
Not bad, right? The entrance actually reminds me of an earth ship home. This is a nice, sunny, plant room with a built-in seat.
It must've been remodeled b/c it's giving mid-century modern vibes. The living room is spacious, has a great fireplace and a built-in desk with a storage armoire and wood plank beamed ceiling. I like the tile floor and the lighting, too.
Needs a good cleaning, some decor, and it will be a beautiful room.
This is unique- doors open to reveal a terrace to the plant room.
There are so many interesting features to this home, like a large walk-in closet.
There are also open levels. Lots of them.
More stairs. Could this be a bedroom? There's a full bath and a curtain for privacy.
The bath was definitely remodeled in mid-century. Look at the sinks.
Lots of shelving in the hallway. At least I think it's a hallway.
More stairs.
Look at the bathroom sink in there- it's in a recessed box-like structure with a light.
This is the dining area with an overhead chandelier and built-in cabinets.
And, the kitchen.
It's nice and on one of the upper levels, so the window has a view of the room below.
Kitchen and dining room.
The family room has a lovely fireplace.
Across from the family room is another open area. I don't know what you'd use that for. Maybe a home office.
Through the doors of the family room, there seems to be a small loft area and more stairs.
On the way down the stairs there's a planter.
This house is like a maze. Looks like a closet and bath.
And, down here is the laundry room.
I like this house, but right now I'm lost. I think it's the stupid photos they took.
At last, I think I found a bedroom.
We're back in the plant room. If you look up, you can see one room above and another room below.
The back of the property has a large cement area and fence.
Inside the fence is a huge dirt yard and a cement patio.
There's a shed, too. It really needs some landscaping and looks like there's plenty of room for a garden. It's an 8,681 sq. ft. lot.

Thanks to Curieously for finding this wonderfully quaint 1830 artist's home and art gallery in Bristol, ME. Just look at that little pink windmill. 6bds, 2ba, $625K.
The entrance to the home is so pretty, I love informal gardens.
Love that everything is so original. The fireplace is wonderful and so is the wide plank floor with a worn path to the next room. What a cozy living room.
Lovely dining room. The vintage fixture above fits perfectly. It's a simple home, no need for a fancy chandelier.
The kitchen has just enough modernization and those floors!
The simple cabinets and worn finish make it look as if they might be original.
Original hearth, but I wonder if they put a wall over the original fireplace.
This is a beautiful room with the little turret-like bumpout.
They are focusing on the fireplaces in the home. Maybe this is a bedroom
And, this room is lined with wide plank knotty pine, although I suspect that it's fairly recent.
Nice rounded railings and stairs.
Lovely light-filled bedroom.
Empty room modernized for a gallery.
Wow, look at the studio.
Photo of the whole home. It's pretty big for the price.
Two other entrances. This home also has a Mansard roof and 2 acres of land.

If you've always wanted a castle with a dungeon, here's your chance, b/c this house has one. The idyllic looking 1922 Tudor in Portland, OR looks like a lovely country estate, and for the most part, it is. 5bds, 6ba, $3.5M.
The long entrance hall.
The house looks like a Tudor outside, but it's very castle-like on the inside. Look at the magnificent great room.
The dining room looks like it's in a castle with it's stone walls and fireplace.
Chef's kitchen has fancy carved tri-color cabinetry.
Off the kitchen is a dinette/family room combo with a lovely big fireplace.
Nicely updated powder room.
Handsome wood paneled home office.
The large primary bedroom has a door to a terrace, built-in corner shelves, and a pretty fireplace.
Love the preserved retro baths. The toilet and tub are original.
Big home theater.
I don't know what this room is, but I think it's related to the dungeon.
And, here's the dungeon. It's very well-lit and features steel doors.
You'll have to decorate it yourself.
The grounds are absolutely stunning.
There's also this lovely guest house.
Beautiful greenery and water features.
There's even a lily pond.
There are 2.99 acres of gorgeous grounds.

This 1890 home in New Orleans, LA is absolutely my favorite style and you don't come by homes like this very often. 5bds, 4.5ba, $1.35M. If only...
I love the time worn look. Apparently, buyers like the remodeled, all white look, though, b/c this home has been on the market for 275 days. Shame that no one who has the money to buy it appreciates it.
I adore this look. Wouldn't change a thing.
Love the fireplace and the addition of the cascading plants make it pop. Bet someone buys it and completely redoes it.
The pool room only has slightly worn floors and molding.
Love the faded grandeur of the sitting room. The rooms are surprisingly light and airy.
This kitchen. Amazing.
Vintage powder under the stairs is quite spacious.
Love this room. I think that the new owner should swear that they won't gut this home.
Great bath with burgundy fixtures and a clawfoot tub.
The lovely primary bedroom is like a suite with a sitting room. I like the spiral staircase.
The 2nd full bath is cute. It also has a vintage tub.
Bedroom #2 is very nice.
This bedroom is kind of a hybrid- it has a rusty tin ceiling and an exposed stick wall.
They've switched styles and I'm not sure I like that it's inconsistent. Bathroom #3 is completely renovated, even though it has a vintage tub.
There's a costume studio back here.
A lovely double porch and patio outside.
Large heated pool and Jacuzzi.
In this purple building is another suite.
It has a bed/sitting room with a small fridge.
Behind the folding screen is a pretty, vintage bath.
The home is on a 5,610 sq. ft. lot.

Maybe it's a filter on the photos, but for some reason this 1926 (reno'd in 2021) home, called "The Glen" creeps me out. It's located in Boardman, OH, has 5bds, 7ba, and the owner is offering the buyer a $5000 shopping spree for the furniture and accessories inside. (Maybe I'm not the only one who feels creeped out- it's been on the market for 238 days.) $679,500. Take a look:
3 keyboards in the combination living/dining room. One looks like a harpsichord. What could you even pick here for $5000?
Formal living room.
Why did they take this photo that looks like they're standing on the counter? Is it sunken? Look at the ceiling of backlit stained glass.
Another keyboard. Guess these photos were taken around the holidays when it first hit the market.
The stairs go all the way up.
They've got nice carving and spindles.
Not liking the stairwell too much. Maybe it's the portrait. I don't know if this one is an extension of the other one, but they're all together in the realty's photos.
Dark ornate bath.
A full size bar.
The bar decorated in another style.
There's also a dining room down here in the rec room.
But, that's not the only bar. There's this one, too.
And on this side of the bar, there's an informal table & chairs. The rec room kind of resembles a furniture store showroom.
Kind of an odd windowless kitchen down here.
A family room.
Another keyboard.
A roaring fire that looks big enough to be able to walk into.
This bedroom has built-ins and a fireplace. Looks like a guest room
The primary bedroom has a very high bed platform. There's also space around the fireplace for a full living room.
One of the other bedrooms.
The patio decor reflects the style of the interior.
The garden looks nice.
I would call this a trench, but it's probably a water feature.
Looks like room for 5 cars. The property is 1.25 acres.

Cute 1860 church conversion in Londonderry, VT has 3bds, 2ba, $430K.
Little entrance foyer.
Neatly done, right?
Open concept main area features the original stained glass window and the kitchen is tucked into its own area.
Lovely kitchen with 2-tone cabinetry and open shelving.
Cozy living room corner.
Before you enter the bedrooms, there's a cute little reading area in the loft.
The primary bedroom has a desk nook and an en-suite.
Very nice and roomy. Cute vintage tub.
The secondary bedroom and bath are lovely, too.
Guest room/den on the main floor.
They never show the interior of the bell tower and there has to be access to it. It's a nice 6,970 sq. ft. lot.

Very interesting 1977 home I posted before and it's still empty and on the market in Sekiu, WA. It's been called a "Frank Lloyd Wrong," and has 5 bds, 3ba. Apparently, it hasn't been reduced and they still want $750K for it (Zillow says it's worth $702,100 - you decide.)
Rustic wood doors open to the large living room.
I would imagine that the wallpaper was chosen to give it a more formal look.
Stone & wood fireplace surrounded by fancy floor tiles.
The kitchen is very interesting. I think the island and counters are mosaic tiles and they've also used them to frame the cabinets.
The layout of this home is very confusing to figure out. This looks like a bedroom with a feature wall.
Looks like a bath, unless it's another bedroom with a sink and the mirrored doors are a closet.
Definitely a bathroom vanity. The mirrors help to confuse the issue.
A hallway with double doors.
Could be a bedroom. I don't know.
By the looks of the elaborate headboard that stayed behind, this must be the primary bedroom.
And, this must be the primary bath. There's a lot of tile to clean in this house.
Looks like a separate hot tub room.
Another very large bath with an extremely unique sink. Look at the size of that counter.
The glass door on the left opens to a sauna.
Odd way to photograph the tub.
Sunken rec room has a kitchenette and access to outside.
Outdoor kitchen under the deck.
Very large barn on the property.
Great view of Clallam Bay.
The lot is 2.89 acres. The home kind of looks like the Stealth aircraft from above.

Would you spend $3.295M on a VERY rustic estate? It was built in 1810 and originally redone for singer Johnny Cash in Hendersonville, TN. Sycamore Homestead is currently the home compound of master builder Braxton Dixon. Main house, 2 guest homes, barn, tea room and smoke house reconstructed from pre-civil war log structures were relocated to this property. 6bds, 5ba.
It has sort of a broody type of appeal.
Open concept main floor includes the kitchen.
Look at the size of the dining table attached to the island.
Kitchen's okay, but not terribly impressive. The slate floors were mined from the site.
Another, less formal sitting room.
Stairs to the bedrooms.
Beautiful etched glass on the door to the primary bedroom.
Display loft above the bed.
Looks like the bath has folding doors to close off the window when you're using the toilet.
This room has nice shelving plus a loft. Like the fireplace and closet doors.
This room also has a nice fireplace and a built-in corner cabinet.
The sky is blue, so I don't think it's the weather, but the place looks dreary.
Guesthouse on the property.
This is a nice place. I'd rent it out.
I like this one better, it's more interesting.
It's smaller, but unique.
The largest one is very cool.
It has some cool features like a grindstone in the wall.
Beautiful ancient fireplace.
Lovely details.
The bath looks medieval.
Covered bridge leading up to the property.
The property measures 5.84 acres.

I had high hopes for this 1900 charmer in historic Old Louisville, KY, but the updates slightly miss the mark. 5bds, 3ba, and not bad at $475K.
Loved the entrance hall fireplace. I assume that the armoire was placed there for coats and will not convey. That's ok, I'd rather have an antique coat tree.
This is nice- it was 1900 and the railings reflect a more modern look.
The sitting room was modernized- large new window and artsy black & white new fireplace.
Can't tell if the pocket doors are still there. The moldings are original, but I think that if the colors and furniture were different, it would look better. The inlaid floor looks great.
The kitchen footprint is essentially the same, but they skimped on the cabinetry and used metal shelves instead. They also installed a new glass door to the garden.
They placed a large banquette in this side room. Don't know if they'll leave it, but I wouldn't care if they didn't.
Updated bath painted red. I've seen the pattern on the curtain on HGTV a lot, but as wallpaper.
Stairs have been refinished.
The primary bedroom is spacious, has a fireplace and is basically original, but it's open to another bedroom.
Like that it has a fireplace.
I think that this is supposed to be a sitting room area for the primary bedroom. There's an en-suite right there.
Remodeled bath.
Home office has an original fireplace.
Going up to the 3rd level.
They've got beds up here, but it would be a nice family room. Love the keyhole hearth.
There's another bath up here.
I'm guessing that the only way to get into the basement is from the outside.
Plenty of storage space, though. I think that with some color and decor, this could be a beautiful home for the price.
Not much of a yard on the 3,049 sq. ft. lot, but I'm thinking there's potential for a rooftop deck.

This 1928 home in Cincinnati, OH is $5.975M, has 8bds, 10ba, but is specifically designed for rich people who like to have rolled up paper coming out their butts. Look.
The rotunda room is magnificent.
But, the fireplace. He's jamming a rolled paper up in there. Look at his face. WTH?
Can you imagine guests entering the room from this side and seeing that paper coming out of his butt?
The rest of the house is nicer in some parts than others.
The sitting room is pretty bland.
Very large family room.
The sun room is nice.
Dining room off the sun room.
Kitchen and pantry are pretty much original.
Library/home office has a great ceiling.
Large primary bedroom with terrace.
Nice spacious en-suite.
Gorgeous fireplace in the den.
Nice enclosed patio.
Interesting room with a magnificent fireplace.
The grounds are parklike.
Stunning property.
There's so much to see.
It's like a secret garden.
Over 13 acres of gorgeous grounds.

Beautiful 1900 San Francisco, CA Victorian has been completely renovated and yes, it's white. It's move-in ready and awaiting the buyer's personal touch, but it has so many magnificent features that they offset the white. 4bds, 2ba, $2,499,888.
Not sure if these are actually original stained glass windows b/c the design is modern.
There's just a small entrance foyer.
To go directly upstairs, the door opens to another hall with original stair railings and moldings.
Or turn into the magnificent sitting room to the right. The theme of this home is gold and white. What a fireplace. And, the ceiling complements it.
I've seen gorgeous fireplaces in Victorians, but never anything like this.
The crown molding has tile. I don't think I've ever seen that before.
The beautiful white & gold dining room and it's jewel-like ceiling detail.
The kitchen is simple to an extreme. I'm a little disappointed in it.
Down the hall is a cute little desk area and a beautiful architectural feature with a view of the 2nd fl. balcony.
Completely renovated bath makes the most of a small space.
Open, spacious 2nd fl. landing has a wonderful sky blue ceiling.
The large primary bedroom has a lovely pale blue ceiling and fireplace.
Interesting bath. What is the thing that the plant is in. That's not the sink is it, b/c there doesn't appear to be one.
This small room makes a nice office.
And, there's a kitchenette up here, too.
Cute back room and stairs to the garden.
The yard is a fairly good size and features a patio and garden. 3,438 sq. ft. lot.

This very large 7bd, 3ba home in Tamworth NSW, Australia, needed to be sold fast and was priced below market value at $499K, but all offers would be considered. That said, read the peculiar description: "Ok, we are all thinking it? kind of the elephant in the room, the elephant's name is "BLUE" but "BLUE" the elephant is just paint! Just address the elephant and you'll have a pretty spectacular home. The bones are here, invite some friends around for a BBQ put a paint brush in their hands and you will transform this home into a very Grand Residence."
I'm thinkin' that the color isn't the only issue. Firstly, the grand entrance looks like the entrance to a low-end mall, and that's not just paint- it's wallpaper, too.
Not lovin' the carpet color, either. Is this the living room?
I think that the kitchen will have to stay blue, unless you get a professional in to prep and spray them, if they're metal, but they could be laminate, in which case, they'd definitely have to stay.
Huge space must be an open concept dining and family room combo.
2 bedrooms, or maybe a suite.
Large 2 room bath.
Think that this is the primary bedroom with a terrace and a deck. Unless it's a dining room?
The rooftop deck is nice and very large.
Another bedroom with a terrace.
Open, sort of walk-in closet.
Bathroom #2 of 3.
Back of the home. How do you get to the garage?

Sadly, the lady who was building her dream hobbit house right on Lake Michigan in Rapid City, Michigan, died suddenly and the house needs a buyer who will finish it. She spared no expense using the finest materials and the home is for sale for $5M. 3bds, 3.5ba. Take a look.
This is how it's supposed to look finished- stone facade, round door, elliptical windows and copper edging to make the roof stand out.
Look at the shapes on the back, facing the lake.
The rolls of copper are already here for the roof and waiting to be installed.
Look at the swoops in the roof.
Hope a new owner comes along and finishes it.
Look at how beautifully the interior architectural features curve.
Not liking the rail, maybe it's just temporary.
Closeup of the rounded front entrance.
I bet this home will be worth a lot when it's done. It's going to be unique and right on the lake.
Nice big patio right on the beach. The property measures .75 acre.

This is the house from HGTVs "The Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge," but as soon as the show wrapped they changed it. “The investors thought it would have higher resale value being a modern, beautiful, newly renovated home,” said the real estate agent, “They obviously weren’t going for the serious Barbie fans.” I'm a Barbie collector and there are lots of us. Someone would've bought it. Here are the befores and afters.
This is what it looks like now, and priced at $2,049,995 it just sold for $1.845M. I am so disappointed. Built in 1997, the 5bd, 5ba home is located in Canyon Country, California. HGTV looked at about 50 houses and finally bought this one for $1.750M. Each designer star team did a room and the team of Mika and Brian Kleinschmidt of “100 Day Dream Home” won. When I was looking for before pics, a lot of the sites were no longer available- they didn't want us Barbie people to see the befores, I bet.
The family room before. I don't really care for the retro look.
Family room after. But, I don't like this white, either.
In the living room, the major features that the designers installed remain, like the two-story fireplace and the updated circular staircase. Everything else was changed to neutral gray, black & white.
The dining room. Man, they must've used an awful lot of white paint to cover up the deep colors.
The ’50s kitchen was stripped of the pastels and replaced with neutrals, but the retro Big Chill appliances—refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, stove, even the hood—are still in place, b/c they're very expensive. And, the pop-up appliance lifts on the island are still in place, too.
Ken's den wasn't changed much b/c it was cool, but they did remove the disco floor. Allison Victoria & Ty Pennington dancing on the disco floor.
Looks like they turned the walk-in closet/dressing room into an office.
It already had an office, so now it has two. Wow, they left the striped ceiling intact.
The new dull bedroom.
And, home gym.
The realtor wanted to buy the big brush on the wall, but was told that all the props had to go back to Mattel Toys.
And, finally, the pool. Mika and Brian Kleinschmidt won for their design on the pool and yard. Well, I see they kept the pink spiral stairs, yellow lifesaver and umbrella.
The dog elevator went back to Mattel, too.

She's a beauty all year long. 1880 Victorian in perfect condition in Quincy, Illinois has 4bds, 3ba, and is a buy at $589K.
Small foyer before you enter the hall.
The entrance hall- that newel post!
The home features quality craftsmanship- butternut, walnut and oak woods adorn the entire home, floor to ceiling.
Reception room with original carved fireplace.
The sitting room also has the same beautiful fireplace. I like this dark, broody room, it looks like Dark Academia.
Beautiful Victorian reproduction wallpaper.
Lovely rosy dining room can accommodate a large group of people.
Even though I usually don't like modern kitchens in Victorians, this is beautiful, and the cabinetry is very high end.
Love the satin finish, the deep green/gray color, and dark counters against the white tile.
Large laundry/mud room off the kitchen.
Great vintage bath remodel.
Very large bedroom is the primary. Double pocket doors open to a large office.
Nice smaller room.
Lovely guest room.
The cozy 4th bedroom.
Another pretty reno'd bath.
Wine racks in the basement.
Plus a neat workshop.
Lovely porches and patios in the back.
This home is on a .39 acre lot.

This looks like such a normal house. It looks like a development I once lived in. It was built in 2007 in Calhoun, Tennessee, but there's nothing ordinary about it. 3bds, 4.5ba, $424,900.
I was not expecting this. Do you see how the tile curves where it meets the wood? Interesting.
This is actually the kitchen.
Believe it or not, those 3 arches are the kitchen.
Check this out- they took the appliances, but if you want to go to the fridge, you go to the alcove on the left. To cook, you go to the one on the right where the stove is. Then, when it's time to load the dishwasher, that's in the middle pantry. How inconvenient is this? Running back & forth, in and out. What psycho designed this kitchen?
If you need water to cook, the sink is in here. I have never seen anything like this.
Double-sided fireplace so you can enjoy it in the kitchen and the living room. Stairs to the bedrooms are on the right.
I think that this is the primary bedroom. Is that a window above the double window?
The en-suite bath and closet.
The rooms are such odd shapes. What's up with the floor? Did they "pickle" it with white paint?
This room has a large deck.
Very large bath, too. Either the new owner has to take a toothbrush to that grout or have it redone.
The hallway has a bookshelf wall.
This bedroom seems to have a dance floor. What is that white tile? A pattern? Honestly, it looks like 1st base.
This room has a tile floor and a small en-suite.
Stairs to the rec room.
This is a very large space and you can walk right out to the yard.
There's a bathroom down here, also. Why do they put teeny tanks on the new toilets? They look out of proportion.
You can see from the back of the house that the ground floor is partially underground. There's a garage, but no driveway, just lawn.
The patio is attached to a 2 car garage.
The lighting on the ceiling is pretty cool.
This home and the neighbors are in a clearing and this particular home has 5.3 acres of land.
