the thing about psychology studies having wack methodologies is fully true and I see it all the time but at the same time it's so fucking weird to me because like...even at like, 2nd year level at my uni if I'd submitted some shit like that in a research proposal they'd probably like call me in for a discussion lol. my psych department's standards and scrutiny was actually way higher than a lot of other departments'.

#you could wing exams with ease but i think you'd definitely need something pretty good to do well in research projects #m #like i was fully prepared to fail my compsci honours thesis on the basis of the standards I'd trained on psych #but instead i did really well and was legitimately mindblown #i think i did *better* than some of my 2nd and 3rd year psych projects lol #modulo late submission penalties. lol. lmao.#for our final applied cognitive science paper we had i think like 150 participants?#and every fucking thing so specific and with a zillion qualifiers #they'd probably stab us if we decided to be like 'people' and not 'undergraduate students at a large south african university' or whatever #how are you doing worse than a bunch of randomly put-together drunken undergrads bro
