"a dude in Texas legally changed his name to "Literally Anyone Else" and he's attempting to run for President against Biden & Trump" [source]
okay, but putting aside the comedic aspect of this, it is concerning the amount of people who are prompted to vote for candidates just because it's funny. I'm not the biggest fan of how his policy about the boarder sounds [Site], but I do implore anyone who is able to vote in the 2024 US election to please research other candidates.
The media is only going to continue pushing the idea it's inevitably going to be Trump vs Biden 2.0 and we have no other options, that we have to vote for Biden again because of Project 2025. Is that whole thing terrifying?
Yeah, fucking absolutely.
But voting for Biden will not solidify our safety from that. Biden is exactly like the rest of them. He always has been. You can't make the lesser of two evils argument when they're both just plain evil.
You cannot say that Biden is even mildly a better choice than Trump when he is currently directly involved in a genocide. That is not some little fucking thing. That in and of itself disqualifies him as a lesser evil. Biden is just as bad as him and he will not save us because he doesn't fucking care.
Cornel West [Site] is an Independent candidate running for President in the 2024 Election. [Policies]
Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia [Site] are running for President and Vice-President as the candidates of the Party for Socialism and Liberation in the 2024 Election. [Policies]
There are options.
There are people trying to change the corrupt foundation our system is built on, but we have to help amplify them because the mainstream media will not.

I freaking love this scene so much, you dont even know. Its so heartmeltingly cute: they’re discovering his powers together! They’re in on the secret together!!! Mason being presumably the first person to actually, seriously just reach out to Corey, just some feeling of warmth. Its what Corey probably needed so much after losing Lucas in such a way, not to mention his parents. No wonder he fell so hard
Its also so much fun to compare this scene to the Liam-Mason Gym Scene in Season 4 Episode 5, just the contrasts.. *chef’s kiss*

i've really had xina and miguel's dynamic under a microscope lately; right now my object of scrutiny is xina's use of "kevorkian" in issue #26. it's a quick, tongue-in-cheek comment about miguel's suicidality; kevorkian, at the time of publication, was routinely making headlines for his stance taken and assistance in physician-assisted suicides.
we know early on that xina is, as miguel describes, a "twencen freak," which manifests the most prominently via a love for old pop culture, but it doesn't stop there. she notably talks about alchemax's habit of erasing history, has a lifelike version of a old political figure in her home, and, in this case, brings up a name that's big in bioethics debates.
importantly, she says it very offhandedly, implying that she and miguel have had these discussions before—and i doubt the state is particularly eager to bring up any talk of ethics to their scientists-in-training.
my take on miguel sinking deeper into alchemax's agenda is that while he really doesn't care for the institution itself, he's mistakenly convinced himself that he's chosen the most politically neutral option possible. science is anything but apolitical; it is deeply, irretrievably steeped in concerns about morality. at the time miguel and xina were drifting apart, this wasn't something he wanted to mull over. (after all, once he realizes he's an accessory to state-sanctioned oppression, he wants nothing more than his life to end.)
xina is smart, yes—and i think, knowledgeable, specifically, in ways that directly challenged the delicate mental gymnasium that miguel had started to build for himself. it's not just that xina being more intelligent became a problem. she was also probably (and rightfully) challenging the value of his work, the completeness of his knowledge, and becoming a huge source of cognitive dissonance.
he's the geneticist, but xina, who specializes in an entirely different field, was engaging him in talks about the ethical implications of the work he was doing. trying to get him to think for himself, appealing to the good person she sincerely believes exists in this strange new version of her friend.

So I was promised to have help to get my stuff out of storage before the bill hit again. It's my birthday month and after paying everyone back and paying bills I'll have almost nothing.
I was ghosted on the help and just had to pay the $160 bill again.
If I could get some help with that I'd truly appreciate it. Single disabled queer parent, I make $760 a month.

So uhm, consider this. After trial 1 ended, Kotoko attacked the guilty prisoners in a specific order based on the percentage of guilty verdict they received (highest was mikoto: 69%, then Mahiru: 55.40%, then Fuuta: 55.08%, and finally Amane: 51%), although in the end she didn't attack Amane, either because she was too tired after fighting both Mikoto and Kazui, or Kazui stopped her, or she just doesn't attack children.
In any case, I wanted to take a look at what might happen if Kotoko gets voted innocent again this trial (which is unlikely but not impossible). She's gonna start by attacking Muu (highest guilty rate queen!! 74%, I doubt she'll be surpassed by someone else before the end of the second trial). Muu, since she can't defend herself, will probably end up in a similar state as Mahiru. Then Haruka will be attacked (well, for now he's the only other one who got a guilty verdict so I'll assume that's how things will play out for now). And here's there's two possibilities: either someone defends him (because he probably won't be able to defend himself against Kotoko), or he gets beaten up just as much as Muu. Seeing how Kazui's verdict is slowly but surely leaning towards guilty, he'll probably only be able defend himself. So we already have two kids on the verge of dying (great!!).
What do you think Shidou will do. Like seriously. He might have been able to keep Mahiru alive, but it's only because she was the only one who got hurt that badly. Plus from a storytelling perspective, the author probably didn't intend to kill anyone between trial 1 and trial 2. But now that we've been warned, someone could definitely die at any moment. And if Shidou has to take care of two dying patients, well he might have to make a choice between who lives and who dies. As he says in Throw down, "someone's value cannot be the same as another", so which life will he value more? Muu's or Haruka's? If he ends up having to sacrifice one to save the other, how will he choose which life is worth saving and which is expendable?
Like I'm genuinely wondering, maybe he would save Haruka since he's more "childlike" (and therefore would remind Shidou of his kids), or maybe Muu because she's technically younger? Idk, Haruka would probably ask to be sacrificed for Muu, but that's assuming he's in a state to talk.
But all of this only matters if Kotoko is voted innocent AND Kazui is voted guilty AND Kotoko would actually attack children. Which, well, none of this is certain yet, but it could happen.
So anyway, I'm voting Kazui innocent because if someone dies, it means we'll have less songs in trial 3, which is just sad :(

I know this is closer to medicalcore, but one severely underutilized aspect of medical imagery in medicalcore/menhera/yamikawaii fashion/aesthetics is all the fucking paperwork.
Bills, claim forms, letters of correspondence from your care providers, insurance brochures, notes of absence, and--probably MOST universally--patient education forms. You know, those informational pages that come with any prescription meds at the pharmacy?
Idk I get 1-2 medical related pieces of mail a DAY, and having it constantly on me is a huge contributing factor in my mental health, but maybe it's just me. Either way, I think depicting the admin work involved with being medicalized in a mental health/illness focused scene would be killer

Soooo wait a minute.
Royalists get a-hold of a video of Meghan as a child pouting at her dad and instantly insult a then-child-Meghan and also still drag her literal children constantly nowadays...
...But when a video of William as a toddler gets brought up to show he had clear temper issues even as a child, suddenly we need to leave children alone???
Oh the double standards are truly strong...

Recently had to block a “radfem”, so here’s a reminder that I’m a biology student, the biological sex you believe exists is a spectrum we still don’t fully understand, gender is socially constructed and diverse in so many ways, trans history is as long as human history, affirmation is the current best supported model for trans people of all ages, trans people belong in sport and models designed to exclude them inevitably penalize intersex people especially women of color, women’s rights really aren’t being infringed on by trans people existing, trans lesbians are fine and I love them, and everyone deserves to be included in public life.
