#mdzs#nie mingjue#i just think. it'd be sooo fascinating bc it could indirectly affect so many things#like. not in a big picture way#but in the small things#how would NMJ as a woman be perceived? how would she have survived in the early days after her dad's death?#we know nothing about Nie women cultivators#but since their technique is known to Really Mess The Cultivator Up#i can kind of imagine that women are discouraged from pursuing training beyond the basics#bc their role would've been to support the clan in ways other than fighting/achieving high cultivation#so like. NMJ's role as daughter of the sect leader would've been to support her younger brother and make a beneficial marriage alliance#except her dad died a horrible death when she was a teen and her brother was a literal child. and someone had to keep the sect together.#(she'd look at the raging shell of a man her father became just before the end; she'd see her baby brother in his place)#and... would NHS be able to avoid his responsibilities for so long if he had an older sister instead of a brother?#would NMJ still be a front line commander in the Sunshot Campaign? i like to think she would but idk the logistics#and if NMJ had a diminished front line role would she still have met Meng Yao/JGY?#also. LXC would have a Very Different relationship with her if they're still in each other's orbits#bc LXC would be baffled by the concept of being Friends with a woman#the fem!nmj agenda
