Danny is extremely disappointed in his grand niece, abusing her own nephew for being born with magic. And still expect the law to be by her side because it was 'freakish'? Devil's work?

Ok, so I just read "Harry Potter and the Asterous Wandmaker" by Aprotny on AO3, and it gave me ideas.

The basic premise is that Mary Grayson was a friend of Lily Potter who agreed to look after Richard for a few days while Harry was sick, as Richard was a newborn and they didn't want to risk him getting ill as well, but then they die and the Greysons end up adopting Richard for real and raising him until Canon DC events occur. Shenanigans ensue that lead to Harry moving in with Bruce at 15 and Voldie is killed early.

My thought was, what if it was this, but with Maddie. So Maddy takes on Daniel, and a miscommunication occurs that leads to her believing Harry died with his parents. Due to her being a squib, she only tangentially knows about the wizarding world, and this is what fuels her desire to study ectobiology. She KNOWS they're real. She just has to prove it.

The only other person who knew about Danny was Peter, and due to some small sliver of loyalty, he never told anyone about him. Harry finds out in the Forbidden Forest when he's walking to his death as his parents tell him they can watch over Danny's life together or something, and sets off to America once he'd recovered after the battle.

Harry could be Master of Death and help Danny out with his ghost battles

Harry could set off all the ecto-alarms in the house, causing the boys to gaslight the Drs. Fenton into thinking that it's going off due to them being British born or due to magic

Danny could be a squib, which is what helped him survive the accident

Harry could arrive pre portal/ just after it happened

If Harry is 18, he might fight for custody of Danny, due to the house being unsafe for him to live there

Opportunity for billionaire vs billionaire showdown when Harry finds out what Vlad is doing to Danny

Danny could tell everyone Dani is a Potter and get her an official identity through the goblins, this could be how Harry finds out about Plasmius being Masters

For a bonus, if you want to add in the DC universe, John Constantine could be a squib relation thriving the Black family, or a relation through the Evans family. The older brother that Petunia pretended she didn't have

why am I suddenly desperately curious how a danny phantom replaces harry potter AU goes. and I dont mean one character for another I mean Ember, Kitty, and Johnny run through the wall into the portal hidden inside because Hogwarts is a ghost school and Danny, a halfa, the boy who lived, is new to all this ghost stuff. Like- what if everything except the barest bones of the plot were replaced for danny phantom lore and characters?

Hello! I was just thinking about your Stars Aligned DPxHP fic and just realised - how do the time turners in harry potter fit in? Are they somehow linked to CW?

Yes. I might not get around to finishing it ever because of the Unpleasantness, but in most of my HPxDP crossovers, a lot of stuff in the Department of Mysteries is derived from Ghost Zone stuff (directly or indirectly) via the Veil... which I also headcanon as being the "bridge" the brothers made.

So I’ve been reading HPxDP crossovers again and like… this may be niche but I just want danny in DADA to be exposed to a boggart in front of a bunch of relatively normal schoolchildren. The horrors. I want danny to be in class and dan shows up and he loses his cool bc holy shit you’re supposed to be locked up and someone having to change the boggart to something else.

Or! We could go the vivisection route! His parents cutting open his strapped down body. Imagine a bunch of fourteen year olds seeing this shit and being like yo wtf.

Idk. I want more “danny encounters a boggart” scenes in my hpdp fanfics

While my mind is on Turning Point/Point of no Return/HPxDP crossovers in general, what are y’all’s opinions on Danny’s house? For Weirdward I put him in Slytherin, but I got a ton of replies of people who would’ve sorted him differently, so I’m kinda curious to hear what your thoughts were? I might place him in a different house for the next one because I think Danny is a good fit for most Hogwarts houses and placing him elsewhere might work better for the story.

Something that I really struggled with for Weirdward, and crossover projects in general, is that I really like the concept of using an outside character/force to push ‘canon’ into a more satisfying direction/ending, but that it’s hard to settle on a realistic amount of impact. I feel like I went too light with it in Weirdward, in the end, but I’m struggling to find a way to make the Trio have more impact without making it too far-fetched. So for a hypothetical different HPxDP crossover, I would prefer bringing them in earlier, but then you’ve got the issue that I can’t push Danny back further than 14. (I mean, I could, but I absolutely refuse to do that) So then either Danny is older than the main HP characters, and that would involve more of a mess because why is he still hanging out with them, then? So, y’know. I don’t know where I was going with this tbh. Just kinda rambling.
