August was by far your favorite month of the year - warm nights, perfect weather and just endless days of lying out in the sunshine.

Living in London with Harry most of the year meant you spent a lot of time in the rain. Which of course, you didn’t mind at all, but when summer hit you missed California like crazy. You’d been counting down the days until you’d be back on the PCH again, in Harry’s little yellow car, the bright golden sun just beaming down on your face with the music high. Now, it was finally here.

“Y’have the blanket, baby?” Harry called ahead to you, locking up the car.

“Mmhm!” you nodded, already nearing the middle of the beach.

It was mid-week and incredibly early, so the usually hectic summer crowd was pretty much non-existent.

Harry jogged slightly to catch up to where you were.

“Hold this f’me, lovie?” he said, holding out his Pleasing tote bag, “I’ll lay it out”

You took the massive mesh bag from his hand, trading it to him for the blanket.

He waved it out over the white sand and made sure it was free of any little grains.

You crashed yourself down, putting your sunglasses on slowly so you could lie on your back. You could feel the heat on your raw skin already, feeling the pre-tan already forming.

Harry’s figure still stood above you, sorting out his things before sitting down. He took off his vintage ringer tee, text reading ‘Hollywood Sound’ spread colorfully across. He put his yellow sunglasses back on and laid next to you, the black of his ink glowy in the sunshine.

He let out a sigh and put his hands behind his head, lying back. After a few deep breaths, he turned to you.

“Are y’happy?”

“Completely”

You reached a hand to his cheek, moving over to kiss him lightly.

You moved downward to lie your head on his chest, already warm from the sun. You closed your eyes softly and let yourself fall into a languid state.

You felt his hand take to the back of your hair, a couple cold spots from his rings clear against you. His hand traveled across your head and earned a hum of lull from you.

“Y’know I looked forward to this, like, all year” he spoke lowly, letting you hear the words move against his chest.

“I did too, was practically counting down by May”

“May, god, that feels like fucking ages ago”

“I know! And to think it’ll be September in only a few weeks now”

“Gonna be half way across the world by then, aren’t we?”

You’d drifted off by now, a combination of Harry’s hold and the sunshine putting you out right away.

“Lovie?” Harry said, “Are ya’ asleep?” His grip tightened lightly around your shoulder. Once he notices you were out, he moved a piece of your hair from your face over your shoulder.

“G’night then” he spoke again and kissed the top of your head, closing his own eyes as he laid back down.

Before long, the both of you were passed out on the sand, put to sleep by the sound of California surf.

I look around, still in the most absolute awe about where Harry brought me.

Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Eventually, they wrap up the photo session, and Harry walks over to me, "Hey."

"Hey." I stand up and look up at him, "How was your shoot?"

He smiles and shrugs, "Good." He holds his hand out, "I want to show you something."

I take his hand, "Okay." I smile and look down at my hand in his, "Where are we going?"

He looks over at me and smiles, "Just come on."

Harry never let's go of my hand once the whole time we talk to where he's taking me.

"Here we are." He motions, "This was one of the spots I shot my video at and the whole time.." he chuckles slightly, "I kept thinking about bringing you here."

I smile and I can feel my cheeks getting red, "Oh, wow. It's.." I look out at the gorgeous colored water, "It's beautiful." He steps in front of me, "I knew you'd like it."

I look up at him and he cups my cheeks, "Thank you for coming with me."

I lay a hand on his, "I wouldn't have missed this for anything."

He leans in and gently presses his lips to mine, "Want to go for a swim?"

I nod, "Yes."

He takes off his pants, surprisingly having short on underneath, "Smart." I say with a laugh as I lift my tank top over my head.

His eyes flicker over my body and up to my eyes, "Yeah, well, with shooting here and there. I just-" He laughs, "I guess it was smart."

I kick my shorts off and cross my arms over my stomach, my insecurities getting the best of me. Harry walks over and gently touches my arms with his hands, "You don't ever have to cover up around me."

He kisses my forehead and gently pulls my arms away, "You're absolutely stunning, love."

I let my arms drop and I smile shyly, "Thank you." I whisper quietly.

He tilts my chin up and kisses my lips, "Are you afraid of heights?"

I tilt my head, "Huh?"

"Have you ever been cliff jumping?" He continues to stare at me and I slowly shake my head, "No."

"Do you want to?"

I nod my head, trying my best to not show how scared shitless I just got.

He tilts his head, "Are you sure? We do-"

I cut him off, "No I want to." I laugh slightly, "I've always wanted to." He kisses my head and grabs my hand, "Well only go to the small jump first."

He leads me up the path to the first cliff and I slowly look over, "This is a small jump?"

He laughs slightly and shrugs, "Yeah, I guess so."

I take a deep breathe and grip his hand tighter, "Can you jump with me?" He nods and pulls me close to him, "Of course I can. Whenever you're ready, y/n."

I close my eyes and take a deep breathe again, "Okay."

"When we jump, keep your legs straight, okay?" He walks me up to the edge and interlocks his fingers with mine, "You can do it! I'll be right there with you."

I smile and nod, "One, two, three, jump. Okay?"

"Okay. You count off."

I start to count and next thing I know I'm in the air, going down to the water. I let out a scream and hold my breathe before we hit the water.

I start to panic because i let go of Harry's hand and now I can't find him.

I come up to the surface and calm down, spinning in circles looking for Harry.

He swims up behind me and wraps and arm around my waist, "Hey. Hey. I'm right here."

I spin around and wrap my arms around his neck, "That was.. exhilarating." I laugh, "I can't believe I did that."

He smiles at me, "You sure did, come on let's go to the more shallow end." He swims us over to the rocks and stands up, the water just below his shoulders.

"Thank you for making me do that." I swim closer to him, "I wouldn't have done that if you weren't with me."

He smiles and holds his arm out, "You did it." I walk over to him and he lifts me off the ground, his arm tight around my waist.

I bite my lip and gently trace his tattoos on his arm, "You know.." I look up at him and he slowly looks over at me, "What?"

"We could.. go back to the hotel.. and you can help me relieve all the sexual frustration you caused me today."

The lights flickered as I exited the stadium. Colourful feathers lay on the ground and glitter decked the seats. I could tell everyone was really happy about seeing H perform his last show in Melbourne but I could also tell many of the fans were upset that the night had come to an end.

"Thanks Love, I'm so glad you could come and watch tonight." Harry admitted, returning my kiss.

Leaving him to get changed from his stage attire, I took a seat on a sofa nearby. Sarah came over to me, holding baby Scout, that she had left with her mum for the duration of the show.

"You played so well tonight Sarah" I enthused, earning a blush from the drummer.

"Thanks y/n. I'm so glad you could be here, At mine and Mitch's last show."

"I'm so sad you guys are leaving" I complained. Leaning over to give Sarah a hug and kissing baby Scout's face.

"Have fun on your break Sarah. We'll miss you here" I choked up before allowing a small sob to escape my lips.

A couple minutes later, after Sarah had scurried off to find Mitch, Harry came out of the dressing room. Dressed in a hoodie and trackies with a big smile on his face. He walked over to the sofa and took out a small velvet box out of his pocket. Kneeling down on the ground, he started,

"Y/n. You have been by my side ever since Fine Line. You have come to every single one of my Love On Tour shows in the past 3 years. You have supported me through my tough times and when I've been at my weakest. You love to cheer me on, and to make me happy. You bring the kind of joy into my world that nobody else ever has. And for this, I would love to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you with all my heart and soul. Would you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" He asked as he held back tears.

I didn't know how to react. Obviously I knew the answer but the proposal had come so suddenly, I never would've guessed it would be today. Without a second thought I screamed out,

"YES H!!" "I love you with all my heart! I would love to be your wife."

A small sob escaped my lips as Harry stood up, sliding the gorgeous rose gold band on my ring finger.

He leaned in, kissing my lips passionately. Applause erupted from around us, 'Congratulations' and 'I'm so happy for you two' were heard through all the noise.

A couple hours after the proposal, Harry and I had returned to our hotel room. He had just gotten out of the shower, and I was lying on the bed in some sexy lingerie. He walked over and lay next to me on the bed. Leaning in, I kissed his lips. Within moments, it had become a full on make out sesh. We are shocked and in so much pain, the kind of pain you only want to hear about and never experience. On November 6th while Harry was sick with the flu, I unexpectedly started spotting which didn’t happen with my pregnancy with Oliver so we went to the hospital. When we got there and my OB/GYN ran some tests and did an ultrasound, she told us that the baby wasn’t going to make it.

With Ollie we didn’t know his name until two hours after he was born but when we found out we were having a little girl, we immediately knew her name would be Luna Anne. Luna for my grandmother and Anne for H’s mom. So she will always be Luna Anne to us. She worked so hard to be apart of this little family and she always will be.

To our Luna, I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were filled with pain and so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will forever and always love you.

Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts, and prayers. We truly feel all your love and appreciate you so much.

We are beyond grateful for the life we have, for Ollie, for our friends and family, and for all the amazing things we’ve gotten to experience. But not everyday can be filled with sunshine. On the darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out, but we will love and hug each other harder to get through it.
