Love On Tour

A/N: this is my first time publishing something i wrote so lmk what you guys think and if i should do more in the future!! i wrote this short little story about what it felt like at LOT and what it meant to me <3 side note: this is also very lightly edited so excuse any errors!!

SUMMARY: a short story about the magic of LOT WORD COUNT: 813 (very short 😪)

harry said it best when he said “you can see the world, following the seasons anywhere you go, you don’t need a reason” this is a quote from his song “Matilda” from his third solo album Harrys House. before i attended a Love On Tour show this fall i thought that i had a pretty good understanding that Harry was such a warm and comforting person and that his fans also did a very good job of radiating his loving energy, but i later realized after seeing him that what i knew was just the tip of the iceberg. I feel that harry’s song matilda really encapsulates the energy at a Love On Tour show very well. the song is about leaving and growing up and finding the people who love and support you for you.

These people at Love On Tour were the most sweet and caring people on earth. Compared to my first ever show the energy was completely different. Everyone was lifting others up and kind of living in the moment. Not one single person was judging you or giving you weird looks or whispering about your outfit or the way you looked. Not one person cared if you screamed or how loud you were singing or if you were dancing and they even joined in when they saw others singing and dancing.

I first got this feeling when i entered the venue. It was in Chicago at the United Center. I waited for two years to see Harry at this point and was super excited to be there and to have had the opportunity to travel 437 miles away from home to see my favorite person on earth after two years. I got this amazing and surreal feeling when i saw all the people laughing and smiling adorned in brightly colored boas with bright and sparkly clothing on. I remember specifically standing in the East Atrium of the venue waiting in ungodly long merch line while harry’s songs played over the loudspeakers and everyone sang along. In this moment i immediately felt welcomed and celebrated and loved.

This really went to show that harry’s energy radiates off onto all of his fans because everyone was very kind. This energy carried throughout all my time at Love On Tour. The love i had felt increased by tenfold when i saw Harry rise out from under the stage in a red and blue sparkly outfit, just like i had predicted him to wear about four hours before, when he came out everyone immediately started cheering and singing all the words. After every single song he sang he said thank you and told us how grateful he was to be doing what he was doing. I even remember at one time he said “Things like this don’t happen to people like me very often so thank you so so much chicago” and in that moment my heart felt so much love.

The second song that i feel describes Love On Tour is Harry’s song “Treat People With Kindness.” the song is about finding a place to belong and dancing throughout anything that life throws your way. The song says “Maybe we can find a place to feel good and we can treat people with kindness” and i feel that for a lot of people their place to feel good is at Love On Tour and i can see why. Throughout the show from my seats in the nosebleeds I could see long lines of girls hugging each other and swaying with each other as harry sang the words to his songs. This warmed my heart to see people who didn’t even know each other coming together and sharing such a beautiful moment.

After attending a Harry show I can see why he calls it Love On Tour. To me the whole experience felt like going and seeing these people who i’ve known and loved for my whole life. Everyone there was not afraid to be who they had always wanted to be. Everyone at Love On Tour Chicago night one (and likely all the other nights however i was not in attendance for those nights) had such big hearts and it really showed. There was so much love and positivity radiating in that room that night and it made me realize just how good life can be sometimes.

With the seasons passing i realize more and more how much of a special moment this was. I miss it more and more every single day and i hope that someday i will go back to see Harry and all of my friends again and maybe be in the pit hugging and swaying with people next time. Until then i’ll be treating people with kindness and going through life with a smile knowing i got to experience the magic that is Love On Tour.
