As I said in my last post, I was doing fanart for this fanfic as thanks for introducing me to such amazing novels!

I wasn't sure about the clothes so take it with a grain of salt bc I'm really bad at it, I just tried to not copy the traditional Chinese clothes bc ya know, but you might see some inspiration for the shoulder thing (I thought it looked cool)

• Portugal: Afonso suffers from the never ending problem that affects most pt/br men, which is thinking nobody is gonna be good enough for his beautiful/espetacular/power house of South America/ once empire daughter, especially if the boy in question is the lousy half abandoned almost forgotten at dinner son of his brother. Now mix this with the lingering resentment he feels towards Manu because of the whole independence process, even though he recognizes she’s his greatest legacy. Today he’s pretty okay with them, i mean he prefers 1029927910 times Paco being his in law than Alfred, at least he’s sure that Manu is in a much more stable and equal relationship, and in the end Francisco is one of his closest nephews soooo there’s nothing to worry about it

• Spain: he’s actually relieved. Paco is one of his rebellious children, who seeks trouble more than anything, and with his bigger than ever pride, sometimes Antonio wonders how his this child manages to survive. But hey he can’t complain, he was pretty much an absent father for most of Francisco’s life, and unfortunately little argue resembles too much of himself during his youth. Manu is good girl, a closer ally in the Americas that looks for the peaceful coexistence in Latin America, and in the end, she’s family. So he can rest assured that his son is in good hands his beloved niece got him very thing around her fingers

Day 2: Ranch

To the east, the sun was rising slowly, shyly guiding the moon out of the domains of the day and tainting the sky with its light, blue and yellow mixing to give the earth a speck of warmth. The birds started their song to awaken the rest of the prairie.

Martín hummed as the wind whistled, basking in the vastness, in the impotence this sight provided him, freedom was a cruel illusion, he could go whenever he wanted, except for the one place his heart ached for, conquering wilderness was such a tempting dream, but all he wanted now was the comfort of his home.

I've lost interest in romantically brarg but sometimes ideas pop up and I go "hmm yeah this might work"

And one of those is trans! Martin and crossdresser cis!Luciano

Basically is Martin being forced by people around him during a big part of his childhood as a girl until he got tired of it and because of that he begins to strongly repress everything that is feminine. I love the idea of him running away to live as a gaucho and finally feel the gender euphoria of being a man and being addressed as one (side note: I refuse to picture Antonio as transphobe, he was just not around much to realize how Martin really felt. He was very supportive once he finds out)

And then there's Luciano who is very okay with being a cis guy but he loves make up and wear dresses and fine jewelry. Luciano enjoying presenting as androgynous as possible but still being more comfortable with being perceived as a guy and use he/him pronouns.

He doesn't push Martin but he helps him feel more okay with "girly stuff". Love the idea of Martin finally letting him do his make up and he (begrudgingly) giving him a light make up and Martin going "hmm not bad" and he slowly warming up to it and starting to ask if he could give him a light blue and white eyeshadow because y'know to support his team and Luci going sure :]

It's still BrArg Headcanon Sunday, right?

So I will ramble about the Family AU BrArg kiddos

Maria Sol: aka marisol aka sol. The oldest, had an emo phase in her teenage years that never faded away, the goth kid of the family. She is the one that most resembles Luciano’s temper out of the three, as stubborn and certain in her opinions as he is. She is also the most likely to fall for Martín’s fatherly teases (as Luciano used to do before he grew older and wiser and boring lol). From Martín she inherited the charm and the slight arrogant air that makes people want to kiss her or punch her or both, and she knows it. She is also shamelessly proud of her effect on people, just like Tíncho. She is Afonso's favorite, mostly because she runs to him every time she has a problem (specially when it’s a problem she can’t tell her parents because it happened when she decided to not follow their advice, like that time she got a piercing without telling anyone and the thing got infected and she thought her nose would fall off and her first thought was calling her grandpa. Afonso not only helped her but built a whole speech in her defense). After her gothic phase soothes a little she becomes very spontaneous, she talks a lot with her hands (and arms, and body in general) which makes her a terrible card player, her poker face is terrible, and she loses every bet against Juliana. She keeps playing, tho.

Juliana: the middle kid, wise as middle kids tend to be. She knows how to lay low so no one meddles in her business, and takes advantage of the fact that both her siblings are not subtle at all lol. A crybaby, just like Martín and an incurable romantic that wrote poems dedicated to the moon when she was a teen. She inherited Luciano’s ability to kill people with kindness, in a way, she is a master in taking a jab at people without them noticing it. She had to practice it tho, I think she was a very impulsive kid and fought a lot in kindergarten (a fact that led to multiple occasions where Martín had to go talk with her principal about his little girl’s behaviour and failed miserably in scolding her because, in his opinion, - the only one that counts - she was completely justified in her anger), but she was smart and soon learned that it’s best to not be showy about it. Also, she is Macau’s (she has a natural talent for card games and frequently asks for his advice which makes his ego very happy) and Sebastián’s favorite. No one speaks about it but everyone knows it.

Thiago: mini-Martín, daddy’s boy. Inherited all of Tincho’s charm and Luciano’s big eyes, he takes all advantage of both this fact and the fact that he is the youngest sibling and is a lovable bastard. He has a habit of rambling about his dramas to anyone who is willing (or not, he doesn’t care) to listen to it. Mostly Juliana takes this role, as they share a room. He is a little bit spoiled, and that’s completely Martín’s fault and everyone knows that, but what could he do, Thiaguinho is just so lovely and cute (and exactly like him) how could he ever deny something to his loved baby boy?? One of my favorite headcanons about him is that one time Luciano said no to him (and fairly so) when he was like 5yo, and Thiaguinho decided that his family did not deserve him, took one single shirt and announced he was leaving that household. He stood on the porch for like... two whole hours before coming back as nothing had happened, while Luciano had to physically restrain Martín from going outside and beg for Thiaguinho to forgive them and come back home papá missed him so much already. He is everyone’s favorite, he just needs to bat his pretty lashes and smile and people will do anything for him. And he knows it, for his sister’s annoyance, as he got out of lots of (deserved) groundings on charm alone lol

yes they have, i haven't developed them all, but most have a counterpart
