With talks about RCT output and worries about Shoko getting shafted regarding her powers... let's see the rough translations.

Warning: Spoilers

Sukuna: No, when you use RCT on another person, the efficiency is usually less than half compared to when you heal yourself.

Kinda make sense? It was already established long ago that RCT is incredibly difficult to pull off.

Shoko doesn't have any Innate Technique. Since her name implies that she is not part of a clan, she likely has no Inherited Technique either. So all she has is usage of Reversal (RCT). Considering how highly valued she is by the school, she must be incredibly good at it.

Now, her feats were said to be healing and re-growing limbs. However, we saw how Toge is still missing an arm and so does Hana. Maki is also heavily scarred.

But it's not all failures tho, Shoko is the one that healed Nanami after fighting Mahito the first time and he seemed perfectly fine the next day. Another example is Geto who was severely injured in the afternoon, but was back to normal within 24 hours.

And... that's about it. We do not have any further clue regarding her powers. This is both a boon and a bane.

Let's start with this lack of info as bane.

Sukuna: Her RCT isn't even as powerful as me or Gojo Satoru

This is what people are worried about. Frankly, so do I. This devalues Shoko's skill. It is not helped by the fact there are other characters introduced already that possesses RCT.

Sukuna's observation here could be taken as Shoko being not that special after all especially since we do not really have much information about what she can truly do so far. With her confirmed heals being 2 Perfectly Fine and 3 Not Exactly Fine, it may seem Sukuna is right.

HOWEVER!

#1 Sukuna has been wrong before. He has a habit of underestimating people right until he spent a lot of time knowing them through fights.

Case in point #1: Gojo. From fish to the guy he never shuts up about, Sukuna seem to like/respect (?) him in the end. I mean, just an observation here, Sukuna tends to name drop Gojo a lot actually like with Megumi.

Case in point #2: Yuji. Sukuna is practically annoyed with Yuji because he doesn't see any value in him. Yet, in this very recent chapter, he acknowledged Yuji at last! Sukuna hates it but he admits that Yuji isn't as bad as he initially thought.

#2 Sukuna is comparing Shoko to Gojo. GOJO who is The Strongest sorcerer?! IMO, Sukuna is being extremely biased here. Like really?! What did he expect? For every single sorcerer Gojo hanged out with to be on the same level as he is in terms of everything he does?! Then again, Sukuna fucking expected Hiromi to pull off the insane feats Gojo did during their showdown (and Hiromi delivered! My beloved! He was taken away so fast.)

Therefore, Sukuna saying Shoko isn't as great as him and Gojo is not really a downgrade exactly. They're two monsters on an entirely different scale. Shoko not being on their scale is just expected.

Seriously. Wtf is up with Sukuna? He's like a heavyweight champion whining why a featherweight champion (Shoko) couldn't compare to him and his rival (aka Gojo) in punching power right after beating the lights out of a promising rookie (aka Hiromi).

#3 We still lack information about Shoko's RCT to fully judge her. So far here are the solid facts:

She can heal people and help them regrow loss limbs which is legit since they are keeping her away from any fights.

There is probably a time factor for her abilities. -> Nanami & Geto probably got healed immediately by her so they recovered 100% -> Maki, Toge*, and Hana* probably missed the time window to become 100% healed -----> *Maybe Sukuna being the one to maim Toge & Hana is a factor too.

Her power level is not Sukuna/Gojo Grade.

The new info that RCT is only 50% effective when applied on others seems to be a general fact which may or may not apply to Shoko. Maybe she is greater than 50% effective at using RCT on others provided she heals a patient within a specific time window.

This could be copium but we actually haven't seen for ourselves Shoko healing someone. What we often see is the result/aftermath of her work.

I may misremember it (if I am please tell me) but I think this is the only image we have of her actually doing RCT... until she got distracted by Satoru and Suguru's shenanigans with Yaga that is.

I just don't want my baby girl be done dirty. Shoko is THE jujutsu doctor for fuck's sake.

Ok the latest poll got me thinking about what characters were on that list last time. So this is basically me side eyeing everyone for their choices last year

Megumi - I get it. Megumi’s pretty cool. Took me a while to get to that point but I’ve accepted this man’s popularity and I just go along with it. Really don’t have anything else to say about him.

Gojo - Can’t believe he was still in the box during this. You can tell how strong the Gojo fans are because he has not been seen in action for YEARS yet you’re still voting for him. Props to you I guess. Good luck beating Gege and getting him 1st in the next poll

Yuji - Ok my boy was not fighting in the TRENCHES to become 3rd in his own series. Yes he should have gotten 1st yes I will stand by that until the day I die and yes I still can’t believe he got outdone by a guy in a box.

Geto - I know you’re all coping bc of his death with him being in top 5 and honestly me too. Gege still won’t let this poor man rest so you won’t let the anyone else in the fandom rest as a consequence. Don’t expect him to be in top 5 again but who knows.

Nanami - Overtime sorcerer SUPREMACY. I best see him here again because he does not miss. Nanami fans are the real ones so I’m not dragging on him.

Inumaki - Salmon Salmon. For a man who also hasn’t been seen in 2 years he did pretty well all things considered. I’m still waiting for him to show up so until then you go Inumaki fans.

Choso - Ok I’m just salty here but you lot really put HIM here on the top 10. How much screen time did this man really have. He did not deserve to be placed that high and if I see him being placed higher than Yuki then we know it’s on sight. He’s great and all but really? Just really?

Yuta - As a resident Yuta has never done anything wrong, I am disappointed in all of you. Did vol 0 mean nothing? Was his interactions with Yuji nothing to all of you. To the point of Choso overtaking him. Smh

Toji - I’m going to assume it’s the horny and leave. You did not drag the no child support, fugly grey sweatpants, boring ass guy into the top 10. Just admit that he’s hot and take your leave. Ok being fair he was a good antagonist during the hidden Inventory arc but istg if I hear more Toji stuff we are not going to see me again.

Naoya - OK LISTEN UP HERE EVERYBODY. HOW MANY PANELS DID THIS FUCKER HAVE. WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE HELL DID HE DO IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE MANGA OTHER THAN BEING COOKED BY MAKI. IM WAITING. This just feels like fandom misogyny as the next two people are in the manga for 10x longer and did more things overall, to then be overshadowed by this dickhead.

Nobara - My beloved you did not deserve to be snuffed out of top 10. I am still on that copium that she’s still alive but honestly you really had to do her like that :(

Maki - Ok this is where I really question some of your tastes. So she had one of the PEAK arcs in all of the manga, went to hell and back and served us in every shape and form and this is what she gets. Losing to Naoya. Telling you lot to sort your misogyny out for the next poll because if she doesn’t reach top 3 Istg

Sukuna - Right, he’s a bit of a guilty pleasure as he is one of the funniest characters in this series after Kenny and Todo. Am suprised that he didn’t hit top 10 but he’s been binding his time to skyrocket to the big numbers especially in the recent chapters.

Todo - AYYYYYYY. Kyoto student found in the wild quick catch them before they get into the sea of irrelevancy. Ok that was too harsh but I’m proud of the Todo fans for getting him up there. He truly is the homie of the jjk world hopefully he keeps his placement because he’s too cool to not be on this list.

Utahime - OMG OMG OMG OMG. This was very unexpected. I thought Shoko would be here (she’s 24th) but I am grateful for it. The voice at the back of my head is trying to say that it’s cause of the shipping but I am ignoring it to focus on my girl entirely. Congrats everyone. If she manages to get in the top 15 again, do you think Gege will add more to her character. Nah he’ll probably just put her on the hit list which is not what we want to see here.

Yeah I think the poll overall was alright and obviously was for fun but after the placement of certain characters you know I’m side-eyeing you lot.

Geto or nanami as Leto atreides type beat?

Hmm… Not really.

Nanami as Leto would have never accepted the deal to move to Arrakis. He’s way smarter in that aspect than Leto, he would have known that it is just a set up and puts his family in massive danger. But I think he’d fit into the role of Pardot Kynes’s group which tried terraforming Arrakis. I believe in farm man Nanami supremacy.

Tho I like the concept of Geto written as Leto in the au because they’re both morally grey and they both manipulate people they think are below them, do terrible things but love their family etc.

But Leto is a duke. He comes from a very ancient, wealthy and powerful family. House Atreides descends from Agamemnon himself and they’re the most influential noble family in the Landsraad. And I just simply love writing Geto as a character who comes from nothing but earned his status through hard work. To me it’s an important part of his character.

Let me criticise the new adaptation for a minute: I think that part 1 of Dune does a good job to deliver the atmosphere of the books but some important details are cut and some characters and dynamics lack focus.

Like, for example the movie portrays Leto as a much more sympathetic and positive character than he’s in the books. He still wants to exploit the Fremen for their resources, but unlike the Harkonnens, he wants to win them over first. He wants them to see him as a hero, as a liberator but he’s not better than the Baron Vladimir in that aspect.

And I’m legit scared that by part 2 coming out, people see Paul as a hero? A character doing what he was destined to? Bro, you missed the whole point of the story.

But back to the au, I could see Geto connected to CHOAM or the Spacing Guild. Both are very important and powerful factions even the Landsraad can’t defy them.

I can definitely see Gojo as Padishah Emperor. You’d think that the emperor of the known universe is the most powerful being, an absolute ruler.

Well, you’re wrong. The emperor is obviously controlled by the Bene Gesserit, the Landsraad, CHOAM, the Guild but in such a disgusting manner it’s a wonder if he has a single thought of his own.

My girl Shoko is obviously a Suk doctor! If you still remember Yueh, you know that Sul doctors receive a special imperial conditioning so they can’t betray their masters. But apparently, the conditioning can be broken!

Idk why but I can see Utahime as a Bene Gesserit Proctor in this au. I mean it’s canon that she’s a great teacher.

And here comes reader yaaay!!

I was sure from the first minute this au started plaguing me that I want reader to be a Truthsayer to padishah emperor!Gojo.

Everybody outside of the sisterhood kinda hates Truthsayers because they’re specifically trained to detect lies based on the individual’s body language, mannerism, the quality of their voice. And it’s very hard to fool them.

Like, Vladimir deliberately wanted Paul and Jessica to be dumped in the dessert and let Arrakis do its job because he must confess to Gaius Helen Mohiam. He didn’t even want to know that they’re dead or not so he can remain innocent in the eyes of the court and other factions.

And oh, anon, i was so sad that part 1 didn’t include the INFAMOUS DINNER PARTY SCENE. It’s literally my fave because that’s the true essence of Dune.

A bunch of shitty nobles giggling, feasting, scheming, wasting the precious water of Arrakis but in reality they just want to stir shit and poison each other. Assassinations in the world of Dune, especially amongst nobles is just a normal Monday afternoon gig because they’re so common. That’s literally the reason Paul has no friends and was isolated for his whole life.

And idk, it would be fun to write lil truthsayer!reader being crammed with these morally questionable people and being able to detect all the lies and thinly veiled shit talking. I can add even more drama if reader was poisoned by someone who has no idea that Bene Gesserit members can’t be killed this way because the excellent cellular level control of their bodies makes them able to digest them.

You know what else is fun while being a Bene Gesserit? Other than being superhuman? You can have unprotected sex as many times as you want because you can even control your own reproduction. And since Reverend Mothers don’t know which trainee can be used in the breeding program later on, you’re trained to be irresistibly fuckable too.

“Well she’s nothing like you Maki.”

“We’ve been different our whole lives y/n, but I don’t really care.” 

“Will Megumi be alright?”

“Panda and Inumaki are handling it.” 

She can see the concern pouring out of your eyes for both your friends, Megumi especially. 

“You know y/n, Megumi seems to smile more when he’s around you.”

You look at Maki with wide eyes. 

“You think so?” 

“I’ve never seen him so happy...thank you.”

You smile, your heart warming at the sweet concern Maki holds for her younger cousin. 

“Where are they?” She asks, pulling you out of your thoughts. 

“There! By the vending machines!” You answer, pointing towards Nobara and Mai’s location.

“Mai, What do you think you’re doing with my errand girl?” 

Your eyes immediately shift down to Nobara’s body, which lays lifeless on the floor, her tracksuit pierced with bullets. You move to walk towards her, only wanting to check if she still had a pulse, when Mai turns her pistol on you. A warning not to get any closer. Her attention turns back to her sister.

“Oh. You’re so worthless I didn’t notice you...Maki.”

“Watch your mouth witch!” 

“No you watch yours brat! Before I send your friend here to the same fate as the vessel.”

You back off slightly, knowing you were unable to protect Nobara in the way she needed. 

“I’d say we’re both pretty worthless Mai. All you do is imbue things with cursed energy. You don’t even have a cursed technique.” Maki says, her gaze piercing and deadly. 

“Well it’s better than not having any cursed energy at all. If i keep looking up at my goals my neck will start to hurt, so sometimes I have to look at what’s below me.”

Your blood was boiling and your skin felt hot. How could she talk to her own sister like this? Like she was nothing? Maki’s expression, however, was the complete opposite of yours. Completely unbothered. I guess she really doesn’t care.

“Forget it, what a waste of time, we’re both at the bottom. Nobara can you stand?” 

“Maki I don’t think-’ You respond, but you’re quickly cut off. 

“I doubt it, She’ll be down for a while, I got her pretty good.”

Nobara’s once lifeless suddenly springs to life. She silently stands and pounces on Mai, wrapping her arms and legs around her, rendering her immobile. 

“Nice team-work Maki and y/n.”

“Well, I didn’t really do anything Nobara.” You respond feeling a bit useless.

“What do you mean? Even behind the aim of Mai’s pistol, you put Nobara’s life before your own. You should give yourself more credit y/n. You’re strong, act like it.”

Your cheeks heat up from Maki’s comment, your palms desperately trying to cover them. 

“Mai! We’re leaving. Although it looks like you’re having fun.” The taller man from earlier says. 

“As if! I was just getting started.” She responds, her deadly gaze landing on you and Nobara.

“Forget it. Unlike you, I’ve got some important business in Tokyo. Takeda’s meet and greet!”

You all deadpan at his “important business.”

Just how superficial is this guy?

“Geez! You’re such a pain!” Mai says stomping angrily, her footsteps following the overly horny giant.

“Hey wait a minute! You think you’ve won or something?! I said leave that uniform behind!”

“Nobara hush!” You say smacking the back of her head.

“What happened today doesn’t matter. We’ll destroy them at the event.” Maki says confidently, her eyes determined and full of revenge.

“...Maki. Is it true? What she said?...You don’t have any cursed energy?” Nobara asks. 

Your eyes flicker between Maki and Nobara. I thought she knew.

“It’s true. I can’t even see curses without these glasses. I use tools that are imbued with a curse. I can’t manipulate my own cursed energy like everyone else. That’s why I’ve been teaching y/n how to wield cursed tools. I believe we possess the same supernatural strength, y/n just hasn’t trained enough.” 

“But why did you become a sorcerer-”

“To piss people off. I mean think about it, if someone who’s looked down on like me becomes a great sorcerer? How would my family react? I’d love to see the look on their face. And now I have y/n. If they become a great sorcerer, how will the Jujutsu world react when there’s two of us? Come on, Let’s go see Shoko.” 

“You know I really respect you.”

“Good for you.”

You stand behind the pair, in awe of the strength and power these two women possess. You’ll train harder, but not only for Yuuji. Now you’ll do it for yourself. 

Your awestruck gaze lands on Megumi, once again covered in blood and limping towards you. 

“Megumi! What happened?!”

“I’m fine y/n don’t worry i just-”

“What do you mean don’t worry?! You’re covered in blood! Again!”

Just how many times was this boy going to let himself get beat up?

“Come on let’s go see Shoko, Nobara and Maki are probably already there.”

You take Megumi’s arm and wrap it around your shoulders, taking some of the weight off of his limping leg. Megumi turns his head to face you. He places a gentle kiss on your temple, startling you. You both stop walking as you look into his eyes with nothing but adoration. 

“What was that for?” You ask, a giggle slipping through your lips.

“Just cause...Thank you y/n.”

“Of course Megumi.”

“y/n I know I haven’t known you for long but I-I….love you.”

You stare deep into his eyes, your expression a mix of absolute excitement and shock. You smile at his blushing face. 

“I love you too Megumi.”

So let's say Nori's s/o is kind of a foreseer and also a Gojo(ngl I'd like to be one so that I CAN KICK THEIR ASSES AND TURN JUJUTSU WORLD UPSIDE DOWN WITH GOJO)  She didn't know she was one before so she did treat Nori like shit because you know "CLAN SHIT" But even though she says "I don't have feeling for him./ I don't care if he dies." etc.. Everyone knows the truth and is like "Hoe you're head over heels." But now, she knows what she is and in this way, she also saw the past, everything he had been through etc.

She saw/knows everything that will happen as well and now thinks that she doesn't deserve redemption and since she knows what's gonna happen, she secretly finds his mom and makes a protection shield to protect her. And then before all that "Sealing Gojo, killing Yuuji and principal Yaga, Toge's arm and Yuuta losing his mind" shit, in order to change everything and preventing deaths, she fights with the enemy alone( BECAUSE WE STAN WOMEN SUPREMACY) She created a powerful shield that nobody can break and she and Nori have a very emotional talk, he begs for her to not to go and stay with him, tells her that they all can fight together but she refuses and tells "Don't worry your mom is safe and I hope you will find the right woman for yourself since I don't deserve kindness for the shit I've done." Etc...

Since she is a Gojo, she also has Six Eyes and Limitless technique and let's say she also copies other cursed energies/ techniques, she uses all of them at the same time and she defeats the enemy but she doesn't come back.... Nori screams in agony( like Emma from The promised neverland kind of scream. If you don't know, you may watch that scene in youtube. That damn shit gives me goosebumbs), whimpers and clutches their rings so tightly tbat his hand might break. He is alone again and didn't have the chance to tell to the girl he loves the most that he always loved her, that there was nothing to forgive...

Everybody is devastated but especially Gojo, Nori, Yuji ( I'd do everyhing to have someone like him. As a brother or S/O, doesn't matter)and Maki and Nobara( since I believe they are besties 'cause 🌠 W O M E N🌠 )

They always thought that she was emotionless but in reality she cared for every each of them and for their happiness, she sacrifaced hers and now they all have to live with this guilt.....

BONUS PART

Since she can also see the past how about she also knows what the other clans did. Like all the bad shit, everything that can end with their death? She wrote a huge letter about every one of them but especially Kamo Clan so that even if she dies, Nori would surely become the new leader.

Basically Nori is this GIF in his room. He breaks down etc...But unknown to everyone, she is barely alive and fights tooth and nail to stay alive.

She somehow returns back, since girls are still outside trying to calm themselves( She show kindness for Mai, she always eat Momo's special ramen, she always talked with Miwa about her family and offered to help them whenever they need, she always went to shopping with Nobara, she always sparred with Maki and when she was stressed she was always there as a shoulder to cry/rely on. They are all bad but then Momo or Miwa sees her trying to come back to them. They shout to others and Shoko, they come and get her but Shoko tells them that there is a high chance of her not making it alive.

They tell Nori but he doesn't believe and rhen Megumi, or Yuji maybe even Todo punches him, fight with him and tells him to stop this shit and get off his ass and goes to her.

When he sees her, he breaks down again. He holds her hand tightly, lifts it to his forehead and swears that when she wakes up, they are gonna get married, that he will make her the happiest woman. He talks about his future plan, but not about clan, he talks about the family they will built( since now he is the leader, he can have as much children as he wants, since there will be no misogynist)

His mom comes everday as well when Nori has to fix all of the shitty things of his clan. Day after day, they hope for her to wake up but day by day they all start to loose hope, til one day when Nori begs for her to wake up one more time. He tells her that he doesn't want to have a family of his own if it's not with her. He starts to leave until he hears a voice say "I.. didn't know that... You'd have... this kind of... dreams."

WOAHHH IT TOOK SO LONG TO WRITE THIS I SWEAR IF TUMBLR ERASES THAT IMMA GO KICK SOME ASSES! IT'S LIKE 9 AM AND I SRATED RO WRITE THIS LIKE I DUNNO 1 HOUR AGO! I REALLY LOVE SUFFERING! MAMA PLEASE WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH THE CANDIES AND OTHER REQUESTS, CONSIDER TO WRITE SOMETHING LIKE THIS TOO!

RANDOM THOUGHTS ABOUT KYOTO BABIES:

I've mentioned it before but I'll say it again - I wish Todo and Mai had more moments together as fans of Takada. They really should have bonded over that.

While Todo is the overt "fish out of water" in the group, Kamo is the subtle outsider because of his status as heir and all the baggage that came with it.

Momo is a good senpai. Momo is the best senpai. Her relationship with Mai is the sweetest. Her protectiveness towards the students younger than her is precious. She is also a big Kiki Delivery Service shoutout. BIG SIS MOMO SUPREMACY!!!

While he feels isolated from the group, Mechamaru is actually the favorite NOT BECAUSE THEY CAN PASS OFF A LOT OF WORK ON HIM. It is because he is genuinely nice. Odd with his "robotic" ways but really nice to be around compared with Todo and Kamo who are difficult to be with. ----> Kokichi, being stuck where he is at for years, manages to "fake it till he made it" his social skills via RPGs and dating sims (galge + otome). He really is great at socializing. People just has to look beyond his robotic features and antics. ----> He also loves to pepper conversations with references of different mecha mangas, games, and cartoons. Yuji because he is his brother no matter the distance. Mechamaru because he would eventually catch him and interrogate him about the Takada anime.

All Kyoto Babies would survive beyond the jujutsu world. Utahime taught them well. They can build careers aside sorcerers!

*I swear JJK series feels like a cliff notes version of a long-ass manga/anime series the likes of DBZ or Sailor Moon. It feels like there should have been 2-3 arcs dedicated to each generation and group. However, it's scattered all over the anime/manga, games, audio dramas, author's notes, interviews, and light novels. I swear if there is an original content from the stage drama too, I'd eat a book.

when she’s at work, of course she puts up a front. she has to be cool and collected in emergency situations. but as soon as her shift is done... after she heals the last person of the day... after placing a white sheet over a lifeless body...

her hands shake. she leaves her workspace and fumbles for a cigarette. when she sees her packet is empty she leans against the wall... sliding down to the ground and placing her face in her hands, elbows resting on her knees.

she doesn’t cry. she cant. she won’t. if she breaks, she loses control. and if she loses control, she cant save anyone.

so she takes a deep breath, gets up, and goes to buy a new pack of cigarettes.

i really like how you write shoko and rip!mc's relationship!! Especially since shoko and gojou/ getō weren't close in the manga it's nice to imagine rip!mc bringing them closer 🥰

female friendships are just something that are so profoundly special to me yk....and not just romantic w/w relationships but like....actual true friendship between two girls and the intimacy and the tenderness that it holds esp since it can be lacking in m/f relationships. not to say m/f can't be intimate/tender it's just a different type you can't rlly emulate.

also everybody fixates on stsg being the strongest as a duo but it's not like shoko is any less just bc she isn't strong!! although shoko hasn't been developed (a crime akutami....) she's still a good character. and she does that by not being a fighter. even if shoko wasn't close to stsg, she is written as a character who doesn't need to be close to them. shoko does her own thing and I completely vibe with it.

Second, I absolutely love your blong and your stories (unsurprisingly I came from ao3)!! Admittedly I avoid Gojo fics like the plague (we love characters fannon self so much) but yours got me hypnotised WILD. I can’t tell it enough but oh my god the way you put rip!MC and Gojo together is top tier, I think it’s the only way I can picture him falling in love at all, (mostly bcs I genuinely believe that Gojo wouldn’t be able to love anyone romantically unless they were there during his HS days). I don’t think it’s only him, you write Suguru’s character so beautifully it’s entrancing! In general you handle the whole universe so well, I feel like you have it down to a T

I’m also a big fan of your writing style, as it’s very comfortable to read as it’s not too much but still very much impactful when it needs to. It doesn’t stretch out too much, it’s not too short, it’s the perfect pace and that makes it so, as I said, comfortable.

(As a non-American, the fact that your fics are way less americanised than the standard is so fucking refreshing too. Shout out to 18 YO White Frat Boy Gojo who knows how to drive✌️)
