I was confused as shit, mostly at how nonchalant ODYSSEUS was. my first assumption was its gotta be one of the gods fucking w/ him but then why is he so casual? so I thought it was a dream. but then there were little things, penelope’s asking him to get in the water(which. reminds me of. someone HAHSBHADBH), and then he says hes scared of the water and I’m like. my guy I hope youre not afraid of the water youre a captain on a ship. but then I realized theres no way odys afraid of the water unless its bcuz of posideon, and penelope WOULDNT KNOW ABOUT THAT so he wouldnt say “you know I’m afraid of the water”. and then ofc shes like “daughter” and I’m like nope. this aint penelope and its not a dream cause then it would be odysseus’ mind making her up and hed never think daughter. silly little sounds. silly little men. silly little deaths. ok so I watched the livestream so I saw the anamatic and holy SHIT the moment that eurylochus realized why odysseus had him light six torches was BRUTAL. also eurylochus’ confession that he opened the wind bag? ohhhhhhh ok MOTHER FUCKING SON OF A BITCH also when odysseus said “not much to say” god he sounds so tortured I cant with this. and scyllas voice in general is so ahhhhhh ESPECIALLY the “Hello.” and DROWN IN YOUR SORROW AND FEARS. THIS IS MY FAVORITE. eurolychus’ confrontation with begging odysseus to tell him hes misinterpreted the situation, comparing odysseus’ past actions and fights to how he dealt with scylla, finally ending with him yelling at odysseus to “SAY SOMETHING!”, odysseus’ “I CANT.” and the looong pause before the boss battle starts. odysseus and eurolychus’ fight, both of them clearly not wanting to but knowing they have to. the chanting their name in the background. and then when odysseus says “I am not letting you get in my way!” and the sound of a stab- I was so scared hed actually killed eurolychus(yes I knew he dies I watched the overly sarcastic productions video on the odyssey too) and then ODYSSEYUS’ labored breathing and asking “why?” like I’m sorry jorge DID THEY STAB YOU TO GET THIS LYRIC WHY DOES HIS PHYSICAL PAIN SOUND SO GENUINE and then the. the fucking. the fucking luck runs out reprise. the MOMENT I realized it was the melody from luck runs out this is when I started crying.(dw past me it gets worse) the way that the crew is basically like “yeah remember when we asked what would happen if you fucked up? well you fucked up. and now youre finding out.” plus the fact that they are so clearly driving home we dont trust you. you failed to keep us safe. basically telling him ‘youre a bad leader’. that must have HURT. and then the fact that eurolychus bandaged him up and was waiting for him to wake up ough my heart. but also the fact that hes tied to helios’ statue? like. um. buddy. looking an awful lot like a sacrafice there. hahahahahah I’m loosing it. anyways, the luck runs out reprise hitting hard once again. like HARD. holy shit, odysseus’ “please don’t tell me you’re about to do what i think you’ll do” when that was what eurylochus said to him and then EURYLOCHUS CALLED HIM “ODY” I CANT and the eurylochus clearly being fed up(but not fed) while odysseus is actually begging him to please please think about this you can HEAR the desperation the need to get home and knowing if eurylochus kills the cow they probably wont? and then odysseus’ scream of “euRYLOCHUS NO!” cut short by the sound of eurylochus killing the cattle. and then the instant ‘oh no.’ like just INSTANTLY knowing they’re fucked and eurylochus STILL LOOKING TOWARD ODYSSEUS FOR GUIDENCE EVEN THO HE LITERALLY MUTINIED AGAINST HIM LIKE A DAY AGO AND HAS ODYSSEUS TIED UP AND AT HIS MIRCY AND HE STILL DEFAULTS TOWARDS ODYSSEUS FOR LEADERSHIP CAUSE HE STILL TRUSTS HIM and odysseus IMMEDIATELY taking charge and trying to get them out. the rushed full speed ahead melody, the boom of thunder and odysseus’ dread-filled “we’re too late.”

5. thunder bringer

IT LIVED UP TO THE HYPE GUYS!! sure enough the teasers we’ve seen are FUCKING AMAZING in the context of the song, zeus having an inflated as shit ego and taking up SO MUCH space, just like constantly talking about himself even tho IT AINT ABT HIM its so in character for what a massive dick he usually is in the greek mythos. and zeus deadass saying “if i were to make you choose, the lives of your men and crew or your own why do I think theyd loose?” right before MAKING ODYSSEUS CHOOSE. I’m. also odysseus sounds so.. small in this song. I dont know if its the fact hes literally having a mental breakdown or that zeus needs to be the biggest cock in any room he walks into but odysseus’ little “choose?” and him asking “please dont make me do this” JUST LIKE WHEN HIM AND ZEUS FIRST MET, the when does a man become a monster melody playing as odysseus tries to decide with penelopes voice asking him to come home pushing him over the edge wow. just wow. and the the conversation between odysseus and eurylochus? “captain?” “I have to see her.” “…but we’ll die.” “i know” I’m SORRY I CANT FUCKING DO THIS WHY DOES HE SOUND SO BROKEN AND REGRETFUL AND SAD AND OH MY GOD. AND THEN THE FUCKING ANIMATIC SHOWN IN THE TRAILER THE WAY HE JUST POINTS TOWARDS HIS CREW AND THEY ALL LOOK SO BETRAYED AND LOST BEFORE THEY START ATTACKING HIM AND THE LAST SHOT OF HIM CLOSING HIS EYES AS THEY PIN HIM TO THE MAST BY THE NECK WITH THEIR SWORDS AND THEN LIGHTNING STRIKES THE SHIP HOLY. also if you think about it this choice was kind of the final stress test for odysseus, because this is the ultimate decision: should he be a good king, captain, and friend or should he take the small chance to see his wife again? cause its not just about who lives and dies, its about who gets to keep going, who gets to see home, who gets a chance and who looses right now. and how could he choose the people who just stabbed him in the back and have doomed them multiple times over seeing his wife whom he loves and would do anything for? honestly, with what I know about how odysseus is, I wouldnt be very surprised if he was weighing the choice both from the emotional (seeing his wife or saving his crew) and factual (hes probably the strongest and most fit leader among them, they might not do too well on their own, ithaca needs a king and he doesnt know if telemachus can be that, one person has a higher chance of surviving than a large group in a journey(ingreekmythologyanyway), and they did just make a really dumb mistake that odysseus wouldnt have made himself and yeah ok maybe hes a little salty but still.)

genuinly the whole saga is so amazing and I’m so looking forward to the wisdom, vengence, and ESPECIALLY ithaca saga. by the way I could actually do this for every song in the musical/every saga tbh

Both sessions seem to be living on borrowed time, so establishing a 'safe house' external to any Incipisphere seems like an excellent idea. The Horrorterrors claim to be here to help, so maybe it's time for them to prove it.

Erm hi, you should totally talk about Flames relationships with the other Jma students like idk, maybe Carnelian or Umber

HAII HAI HIII HI !!!!! thank you for the ask bro get ready for a yap session

ill start out with carnelian – flame definitely looked up to her, at least in the brief time that they knew each other. she was strong, respected, a soldier who fought under ruby, and flame wished he could have had that kind of control over his own life. he saw in carnelian everything he wanted to be– feared, honorable, a real skywing who grew up with her own tribe. he had none of that. being raised by the talons set him apart, and carnelian’s disdain for him was pretty obvious.

but i think that if they’d had more time, their relationship could have evolved into something closer, maybe even a friendship. and id like to think that shed form some kind of respect for him, too, especially after she learned about the things he went through with the nightwings. i think that she reminded him of viper a bit, too, which could've made him more subconsciously drawn to her (with viper and flame having the (imo) closest 'bond' of the alternates). back on them bonding – i really do believe that they could become close over time (after they both got over their defensive emotional walls of anger and fire) especially given how carnelian was just beginning to become accustomed to getting close w/ other dragons (namely umber who also i think would help them become friends).

on the topic of umber – i personally dont ship flumber, but i do think that the two would get along very well. umber has that calm, grounded energy that could balance out flame’s anger and frustration. flame, for the most part, lashes out because he’s never had anyone to confide in; he's never had an outlet for his emotions. umber could be that for him– someone who listens and helps him work through what he’s feeling instead of just pushing it down. over time, i think umber would help flame find a sense of acceptance in himself. flame doesn’t really know who he is outside of all the anger, but with umber’s patience, i think he’d start to figure it out.

i say this a lot and i literally have no reasoning behind it but i like the idea of flame and pike becoming friends. i can imagine anemone casting a spell or something to make pike leave her alone, so this pathetic little wet dog of a dragon attaches himself to the tail of the scary red skywing that hes roommates with. he’s this small, irritating little nuisance at first, constantly following flame around, but eventually, flame gets used to him. there’s something about pike’s persistence that wears him down, and over time, i think flame would start seeing him as a younger brother. in a way, pike would remind him of squid– annoying, yes, but also someone he deep down cared about, even if he never admitted it. flame’s not great at expressing that kind of affection, but i think he’d grow to care about pike in his own way.

moving out of jade mountain here– i think flame and winter becoming friends would make a lot of sense, especially after the events of arc 2. winter, in many ways, was once where flame is now– hating himself, feeling trapped in his own anger and trauma, believing that he was beyond redemption or love.

winter could help flame understand that his scars don’t make him a monster. he’s more than his past and hes more than what others have told him he is. winter knows what it’s like to feel worthless, to carry the weight of past mistakes and believe that there’s no way out of that darkness. and because of that, he’d be able to relate to flame on a deeper level– he recognized the anger and pain that flame keeps bottled up. i can see winter being patient with him, even when flame lashes out, knowing that the rage isn’t directed at him but at the world and at himself, because hes been in flames exact situation before.

i also think that flame and peril could bond over their shared experiences of feeling like monsters—flame with his scars and anger, peril with her firescales and as scarlets champion. both have spent their lives believing they were dangerous, unlovable, and defined by the destruction they caused, so peril would understand flame in a way that few others could. she could help flame see that being feared and having a violent past doesn’t mean he’s beyond being loved or redemption. also something something about all skywings holding some form of resentment towards peril and flame not having that inherent distaste about her because he knows what its like to be an outsider too

some other characters ive thought about interacting with flame (but not long enough to actually formulate anything of sustenance about) are pyrite, liana, nettle, and sora.. maybe another day ill talk about them lol. sorry if this seems really disorganized and cluttered, im super tired and just got home😭😭

They both come from the same orphanage, Aerith's mom died by natural causes (since there's no shinra) and Lucretia and Hojo... You decide, a lot can be done there. Anyway, they were... Kind of childhood friends/acquaintances; Aerith was younger, but she thought seph was very pretty and insisted on talking with her. Seph thought she was sweet, and indulged her sometimes, and did come to care for her in some way. Then Aerith is adopted by Elmyra, and that's that. Seph is adopted later, and they see each other again at the school that they end up going to years later. Seph initially tries to feel glad that Aerith was adopted and being cared for, though she did feel a level of jealousy. Over the years that jealousy grows, and the more she sees her have so many more friends than her, and a caring mother and a life that she so desperately wants, it grows into resentment. Especially since they come from the same background. (What's so different abt her that she gets to have everything and I get nothing?) it culminates, ofc, in her rejecting humanity in favor of a divine calling, not realizing the warmth and love that she seeks come from the very same humanity that she's disparaging.

Bonus, Aerith tries to be friends with Seph again, starting conversations and searching for her when she tries to hide, but seph reads Aerith's actions as pity or mockery. And/or seph can't let go of her jealousy and talking with her is just a reminder of how effortlessly charismatic and friendly she is, and she hates it

I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH............. aerith and seph coming from the same origins is so crucial to my enjoyment of ff7 and i think making them grow up in the same orphanage is. bites glass. anyways.

i like the idea of maybe the catholic school and the orphanage being connected (maybe through the same wealthy family that has connections 2 both) and so seph grows up and is an exemplary student since she was young and is adopted/sponsored by the family as like. a PR move lowkey. (maybe by hojo, maybe by the shinra fam) but in reality she's treated more like a coworker or side show by everyone around her but she gets the prestige of being a "child prodigy" and "shinra's pride and joy" so she's like a lowkey celeb in the student body but also idk maybe they make her attend outside events like galas and stuff and preach about how shinra has been soooo good to her and her future she owes to the company and family

this vs aerith finding a genuinely loving home outside of the orphanage and escaping it (YELLING) and coming back i love the idea of. like. her symbolizing freedom/hope/love to seph and making her SO MAD AND JEALOUS because what did she work so hard for. she worked so hard to get to the top and escape the shit situation they were in and now she discovers that aerith, without doing anything, achieved the life she thought was forbidden from them (BECAUSE LOVE SHOULD NOT BE EARNED) and has her worldview shattered from this. (the notion that the orphanage is inescapable and that hard work will earn her salvation from this life)

Yes, N!Isaac had a past of slavery, but 1) it was highly historically inaccurate, since NFCV takes place before the Transatlantic Slave Trade and slaves in that area tended to be European, 2) it was still lowkey racist, as if black people can only be slaves, as if Isaac doesn't have already an in-built backstory of being persecuted for his powers, and 3) it was, at the end of the day, an insignificant factor of NFCV's lore. It justified one antagonist's misanthropy. It wasn't the literal core of the show. Nothing about the original show, let alone the damn games, would lead me to think "mmh, I sure would love to see important, complex historical events played out in this setting!".

ok mipha!!! one is on her arm from lightscale trident ceremony practice: a rock scraped her as she was coming down. i also want to think she got shocked by shock arrows before, however those Are fatal to zora so either she’d have to have a natural shock resistance or her mom was able to help her (fairy i think). i also think itd be neat for her to have top surgery scars however i dont think shes actually had top surgery before </3 . another is from sparring and its on her hand! and some from lizalfos and one from octorocks. other than that she doesnt really get scarred, maybe little ones from rock scrapes sometimes but scales kind of cover them. URBOSA!!! same for daruk mostly as in i think she definitely has some but what stories they tell i have no clue. however i do have more ideas than daruk generally: one is from the yiga, likely due to thunder helm shenanigans. she’s pretty well protected with armour however they probably nipped a vulnerable spot that was in the . slashing zone for lack of a better word, and another time they mightve tried to go for her neck. another from a molduking, tossed and got scraped by the sand. shock lizalfoes also got her once, though less of a shock arrow but a shock weapon/horn. other than that? she’s doing pretty good!! as unless you get hurt pretty badly most things dont scar, or fade easily at least.

zelda!! i think she’d only really have a few pre cal, mainly one from punching a rock instead of the goddess statue, and two from yiga/monsters. and also shekiah tech actually, those lasers in shrines are actually called beamos which is so incredibly cool so i think she got a scar from one of those, and one from testing an ancient weapon. but otherwise post that its Guardian Burns and Malice. a guardian shot in her elbow is completely numb, but everything else Is Not!

so yeah! self harm; theyre mainly on his upper arms (luckily not on his wrists) and . yeah. theyre almost mistaken for yiga scars sometimes because he has scars from them, but nobody really. sees them because he actively wears longer sleeved stuff. anyways other scars are from a lynel slashing him, and a talus breaking his arm; its not a visible scar but yeagh. post calamity he’d get more self harm scars and more monster scars but thats about it. also same deal with mipha for top scars; i Love the hc so much but i dont think links ever gotten surgery for it he does other things like a sarashi as a binder (its not very safe dont do this in like. modern times)
