I talk abt Dragon Age
(stupid)
Dragon age origins is a masterpiece and I'm very upset that there are people that skipped this part of trilogy bc it's old since I think it's the best in many aspects. The story, characters, how immersive everything is, the choices you make, it's all so very well done. And the gameplay itself is great in my opinion, maybe a bit old and cranky but challenging enough to make it interesting. Like, in DAO you actually have to think which abilities to use while fighting, you have to choose best companions that work well with your warden and combine the teams actions.
In DA2 it's not as good. While DAO had many abilities that had very different effects most of the ones in DA2 are just focused on different forms of damage (especially while playing as a mage, I do not remember other classes that well). The best thing about dragon age 2 are it's characters and how they work with Hawke throughout the story, and it's been pointed out by many people. They're all amazing. I'm not saying DAO doesn't have amazing characters but DA2 is special and always will be in that matter. The level design is kinda meh (all the same looking warehouses and caves) but since da2 was supposed to be more of a introduction to dai and wasn't paint as much attention (as it deserves!!!!) it can be overlooked.
Dragon Age Inquisition is (in my opinion) bad - gameplay wise. The combat is... Everywhere, unlike in DAO, where enemies havent exactly been rare but also weren't waiting for you at every corner just to get smitten once. And all you gotta do is just blam blam blam, deal as much damage as possible without consideration for your abilities or what are your companions up to.... The open world is not exactly well made too, it's so big and... Well pretty boring. I really dislike sidequests in dai, I can't force myself to even read the notes that lead to them cause they're not important! You just have to run from one questmark to another! And that makes you not even look at this giant open world that the creators put there bc it doesn't really matter, you just run from one point to another!!! Bad!!!!! In my opinion I mean! The story is alright, though the fact that it's most important part is in dlc is fucking stupid I guess that's pretty obvious. Dragon age inquisition loses a lot of its replay value on all those things. Too big, to similar worlds (not in the matter of design, it the matter of importance and quests), combat that is not engaging, just a formality, stupid ass side quests, and pretty much identical playthroughs. It's too much!
All of that is of course my experience with the games, not universal to everyone, and I still love them all to death, no matter what, I just had a moment of big critical thinking abt dai while procrastinating before exams. it's not a thought through essay and I probably don't make as much sense as I'd like to but whatever.
In conclusion: Dragon Age Origins is very good, people should play it. Combat is not everything but I wish DAI was better. Thx
