good morning i am at summer camp i have not tumblred for 3 days

When I’m depressed and I think that nothing can lift my spirits up anymore, I tell to myself: “you need to live now, you’ll die tomorrow”. This sentence is a double-edged sword. It led to me making the most out of the situation I was in, but it also led me to drink whisky like I’m Dylan Thomas and smoke a pack in one night before passing out.

When I was a teenager, a very suicidal one, I used to put on a movie I really wanted to see before dying, text my friends, listen to my favourite songs or read a book. Or I’d have a good old crying fit for 3 hours, choking on my tears until I felt numb and exhausted, but peaceful. I wrote a dozen of letters to my family, some of them filled with so much vitriol that my parents could light it on fire just by touching it, some filled with sadness and regret about everything I was, am and would’ve been if I didn’t die. I’d look out of the window and say to myself that it’s sad I didn’t get to see a night sky without light pollution, or be naked in the rain. I’d picture everything I wanted to do again but couldn’t: swim in the North sea and feel the waves crash down on me, feel the warm sand on my skin after getting out of the fresh, cool water, see the sunset on Saint-Malo’s bulwarks and go for a walk on the beach after a nice dinner, when you’re alone for miles on end, my hair whipping my face and tasting the salt on my lips. Eventually I’d go to sleep, then wake up the next day. I didn’t die.

For the past decade, dying tomorrow meant partying all night. Chugging beers like water until my vision blurred, smoking cigarettes and joints until it felt like my lungs would colapse. Listening to music, high out of my mind, it felt like I wanted to leave my body even before it’d give out its last breath. I wouldn’t die tomorrow, I was already dead. Everything I did on a day to day basis was clunging unto anything I could to flee this forsaken flesh and these forsaken times and this forsaken world.

When I wake up, I’m hungover, defeated, can’t breathe properly. I didn’t die. But it doesn’t have the taste it used to. I used to be trapped in my family, living a life I hated like any 13year-old depressed teen hates their life, trapped in a body that was changing in gruesome ways and trapped in my room, day dreaming about running away.

Nowadays I’m more free than I ever was. As far as being jobless, disabled, queer and poor can free you. I mean that I’m in a position where I can live as I please, without anyone berating me for my choices. But now I’m trapped in my own mind, my addictions are exhausting to manage especially in my financial situation, and it seems like the chronic suicidality is back again. I could write extensively about my fear of growing old. My spirituality helped me in the past, now the idea of dying in this sick, twisted world only to be reborn in the same sick, twisted world makes me want to vomit.

I used to write fiction, short-stories, now I can’t get in my head that easily. Every fictional story I write is grounded in reality, my reality. I can’t be all whimsical about my problems anymore, there’s no sugarcoating it. I wish I could go back in time to write every story I ever invented and left unfinished.

All this rambling for nothing. I won’t die tomorrow. I know it.

But today, I feel like I’m a hundred years old. Eaten to the bone. Tired out of my mind. And yet, and yet, there’s still so much to do.

They need to wake up. Also blaming the hate she is getting on Joe's fans is ridiculous the girl set herself up by bringing up someone's od and because of that in a way insulting everyone who has addiction or know someone who has.

Where’s life going at this very moment?

I can say I have tried to be a better person.

Some may say you haven’t tried hard enough.

I’m still at the same stand still that I was like 6 years ago.

Pathetic! Has my life improved? Nope!

Fail, failed, failing!

Back at ground zero living with my parents or shall I say mum because dad has left me to be in Heaven 🥹😞☹️

Can’t say much about that.

Have I lost weight? Nope!

Couldn’t keep up with my insurance payments that I needed for a weight loss surgery! Or a ivf to have another baby!

I’m ashamed of myself

Still don’t have a job still a bum

Getting fatter by the day even though I’m on Duromine.

My one month prescription is almost done, have taken them every single day. But seems like I’m getting fatter no signs of losing weight.

I’m already obese in the eyes of that stupid BMI structure.

I refuse to be morbidly obese!

I’m so weak! Need to see my gp! Need to check my mental state!

I know I have bad depression and anxiety 😥

Having an anxiety attack kills me but I refuse to get treatment because I don’t want people to laugh at me 😞 or think I’m mentally unstable. Or shut me away in a mental asylum!

Still married after 13years, so much hate & drama in-law has given me but their person loves me and my son more than their pure hate and jealousy 🤦‍♀️

What’s happening in my family?

Well it’s a few more weeks till daddios unveiling, 1 year in heaven apparently in our culture we have a big unveiling to celebrate the opening of our sadness.

But I don’t think I’ll ever be over my sadness in actual fact it just adds more! Grief sucks! I fear death!

Why? Because I don’t want to leave my sonson alone in this world without me. I’ll miss seeing his handsome face! 😭

What’s happening around the world?

Well our rugby league team made history by being the first pacific island nation to ever make the finals in the history of Rugby League World Cup.

So awesome everyone around the world paraders for the rugby team. Fine young men! The made us known around the globe.

There were parades in countries, cities, suburbs I’ve never ever heard off. Our flags everywhere.

Unfortunately we lost to Australia, but we still parades around the world because we made history.

What am I doing now? Well I’m at my sisters house slept over to babysit her son aka fur baby while she’s on a sleep over at work.

Homesick

Y/N Halstead age: 8 years old Jay  Halstead age: 11years old Will Halstead age: 13years old

It was your first year at Camp Rosedale. Ever since you could remember, whenever you brought Jay and Will here for a week of camp, you wanted nothing more than to stay too. Now that you were 8, you finally were at the age where you could be a junior camper. 

The day had went without a hitch, 

Your mom and dad checked you and your brothers in. You got your allotted 2 camp t-shirts. You met your counselor Ms. Trudy and your co-counselor Ms. Maggie (you liked Maggie better, since Trudy reminded you more of a parental figure rather than a friend). You chose the bottom bunk closets to the door of the cabin. You ran and swam in the lake with all your clothes on You had smores and played in the sand with some of the girls from your cabin during the Opening Bonfire. 

And now you were lying in your bed wide awake scared to go to sleep. You were tired but your mind raced. 

What if I don’t pass the swim test tomorrow and have to stay in the kiddie area of the lake What if there’s boogie monsters in the woods waiting for the campers to sleep so they can pounce.  What if I don’t get to see Will or Jay at all during the week What if mom and dad die in a car crash on the way home Who would take care of you You’d have to move to Wisconsin to live with your grandparents.  Who wants to live in Wisconsin willingly. 

Starting to feel tears roll down your cheeks you began to cry. Trying to be quiet you stifled as many sniffles as you could. But it was no use. You were full on crying now and you had heavy snot dripping from your nose. 

“Who's there,” called out Ms.Trudy while shining a flashlight around the cabin. When she stumbled onto your bunk, she saw the tears falling and she dropped onto the bed with you. 

“What’s wrong Y/N?” she quietly asked, trying to not wake any of the other campers. 

“I wanna go home” you cried as you fell onto her. 

Ms. Trudy just hugged you until your tears disappeared. “Better?” she asked when you pulled away. 

You nodded and responded, “I wanna go home”

Making sure you were sure, Ms. Trudy asked, “Can we visit the nurse first? I think she can help you. And if after a visit with her you still want to go home, we can call your parents, ok?”

“Ok” you reply. 

Ms. Trudy picks you and the two of your make your way out of the cabin and up the gravel hill past the Junior Boys cabin and past the bathrooms and up the steps of the nurse’s cabin. 

Knocking on the door, Ms. Trudy shifts you so your more on her hip and the door opens to reveal Ms. Gabby. 

Once your in the cabin and in seat Ms. Gabby begins talking to you, 

“I hear you want to go home, is that right Y/N?”

You nodd

“Tell you what, I’m going to go ahead and give you some homesick pills ok?”

“Ok,” you respond

Ms. Gabby begins digging around in some cupboard, finds the giant bag of bag of chocolate m&ms, pours some in a cup and then pours 3 in the palm of her hand. When she turns back around, you look up at her curiously. 

“These three are for tonight,” she says as she hands you the three in her hand. 

You take them and begin chewing them. 

“And these,” she begins while shaking the plastic cup, “are for tomorrow”

“Why?” you ask as you swallow the final m&m. 

Trudy sat next to you and spoke, “because these are homesick pills. You take them, just like you did now, and you’ll be able to sleep. If in the morning after you take the pills again and you still feel like you go home, then we can do that. But we just really want you to stay for the week!”

“Yea, we would hate for you to miss all the fun things we have planned for the week!” added Ms. Gabby. 

“But what if I still can’t sleep?” you asked.

“Do you have a routine when you're at home?”  asked Ms.Trudy trying to figure out if that would help. 

You shook your head up and down furiously. 

“Okay, what do you normally do?” inquired  Ms. Gabby, realizing where Trudy was going with this. 

“I always take a shower and then read a book!” you explained. “And I always sleep with littlefoot, my stuffed dinosaur, but my brothers make fun of me for it.” You added. 

Stifling a laugh at that last part, Ms. Trudy spoke, “okay, how about this, tomorrow night we can try to add the part about the book into our night routine and maybe Ms. Gabby and I can talk to your brothers tomorrow?”

“I’d like that” 

After that Ms. Trudy and Y/N walked back to their cabin and Y/N fell promptly asleep. 

The next day while Y/N was playing tether ball with her new friend, Sam, she noticed Will and Jay walking up, 

“Uh, hey Y/N, can we talk for a sec?”

Shrugging, you pass the tethered ball to your friend and walk off with your siblings. Once you guys come across a bench you guys take a seat, one brother on either side of you. 

“Y/N, we heard you had a rough night last night,” started Will. 

“We wanted to know if you would hang with us after dinner, just so we can all catch up,” added Jay. 

You nodded and the three of you hugged and talked for the rest of the morning.

Okay, so a discussion with @disdaidal kinda got me thinking about something and I can't stay quiet. When i first understood that this beautiful rat boy is a part of my life now (no less😂😂), i kinda went with the general vibe "let's not excuse Billy's awful behaviour". So, a list of bad things that boy did/ALMOST did

1. Billy was a dick to max. He was. Usually elder siblings are, especially elder brothers! Not to forget the fact, that there is unspoken history between them (the reason why they had to move to hawkins) that didn't add love to their relationship?

Still, despite being a dick, billy drove max around, picked her up, and generally cared for her (we're family now) in his angry way? Of course he was not happy about her friendship with lucas, NOT because lucas was black! But because lucas happened to be a teenage boy who was hitting on his little sister !!!! Elder brothers actually protect their little sisters, instinctively dislike/hate their first boyfriends, even get into fights with said boyfriends. Not to mention NEIL, and billy knows his father better than anyone

Well, max isn't a ray of sunshine herself. Flipping billy off, constantly mouthing him off, lying to him, running off with a boy (from her bedroom window (no less) on Billy's watch), always being angry to billy herself, sticking a syringe in his neck with god-knows-what, ALMOST hitting the guy's nuts with a baseball bat and establishing dominance (SAY IT). Dear max, it wasn't billy's greatest wish to always control your whereabouts, it was your parents who made him do so !!!!!!! Could he say NO to Neil????

2. Billy almost ran the kids over. ALMOST being the key word. Yes, that's not good. What is he, stupid?????? I don't think so.

3. Billy beat up Steve. Well, this is a good one. First, max goes running off (from her bedroom window, no less!!!😂) on Billy's watch. Billy gets a handful from neil. Billy finds his 13year old sister in an unknown shady house full of boys and Steve LIES to his face about Max's whereabouts??? What was billy supposed to do???? "My bad, man, just bring her back home later after you're done, 'kay????" OF COURSE, billy picked up a fight, he is a teenager with issues! And steve fought him back. Now, is Dustin's yelling "kill him, steve, kill him!!!" OKAY???????? Is it NICE??????

What else did our bad boy do there?? .. our bad teenage boy, angry, confused, unhappy, abandoned by his mom, abused by his dad..???? Yeah,

4. He shoved Lucas into some bookcase or a cupboard. Ended up being kicked in the balls by Lucas. So terrible, OMFG 😱

My point is, yeah we shouldn't excuse Billy's behaviour. Or no, actually, we shouldn't phrase it like that. We should understand his behaviour and help him because the angry confused broken abandoned and abused teenage fucking boy needs HELP. He doesn't need to be thrown in the hands of the mindflayer just to get killed off later. Fuck you again, duffers, just fuck you forever for doing what you did. Way to send a message!!!!
