everything will said this chapter felt like him trying to play for some kind of favor while othering ada but it just. backfires. Horribly. because ada wouldn't agree with him out of principle of what he's saying, and monty is unconscious, and prospero doesn't care. he's trying to people please still but he'd gotten too used to appealing to monty that he veers off the wrong direction and panics when it backfires. he's trying to fill in montressor's place and attitude but it doesn't Work, and when he receives a negative response he turns to monty the same way that monty gets support from him. but he CAN'T GET IT

i strongly doubt that if montressor were somehow conscious that will would say anything like this at all. and would instead just. echo him like he always does. but instead we see this interesting situation where he Tries to do that but there isn't really anything to echo and instead he skews too far. so he tries to get prospero to agree and when He leaves. will panics. because he doesn't know what to do without that support. he's the one who Acts as support for monty and now he's left without backup

I mean it when I say that they’re literally the sole reason I watched this show in the first place. I saw a billion TikTok edits of them & was like “Idek these characters I need to watch this show and see what’s going on over there.”

And like, it’s a fun show, I’m not saying it isn’t, but first responder shows are a dime a dozen. There are other shows that have queer characters and found family and wild adventures. Granted, they don’t have Buck & his bi arc, but I’d still read fanfics to get my Evan Buckley fix lol.

I don’t need them right now, I’m so down for the slow burn, will-they-won’t-they & the pining & the yearning & the build up and the GOOD foundation. I want to see Eddie figuring himself out and dealing with his repression and figuring out he’s queer (& Demi, pls God. I hope if I just say it enough, I can will it into existence somehow) before anything happens with the two of them, but if they take definitive steps to have one of them like, marry someone else or something, I think I’m gonna head out. my big fandom secret is that i've literally never liked any of keeley's outfits. I know I have a whole power point about the technical reasons I don't like her season three styling so this probably isn't much of a shock, but purely personally I think her outfits are ugly and always have.

btw at the cost of sounding like a broken record, i love love love the symbolism of claire as a beacon of light - not only through the use of the torch or chris' lighter but also as a metaphor about she's dedicated her life to shedding a light on the lives umbrella and the government have ruined. i always complain about ID but something they did right ( whether intentional or not ) is how every time claire is in the scene everything visibly gets lighter and brighter as if her presence is what causes it.

i find even more curious the choice of keeping her tied in a darker corner of the underground facility and yet there's a soft light all around her that almost makes her look ethereal. it all plays on her reputation in universe and fandom that she's the closest main to ""sainthood"" even though in the end we as the audience know that she's not exempt from making slefish choice from time to time - which gets highlighted again in DI when claire helps dr taylor not once but twice and the idea of having to kill her is something the others are doubtful about
