I watched the second fma Netflix adaptation. Here’s the best of my notes:

Conclusion: it was okay. There were parts I genuinely liked. There are things that also bug me to no end. The soundtrack from the original series would’ve fit way better and a lot of times it sounded like an off brand marvel track. Acting and cgi was a lot better (at times.) An improvement on the first one, and a semi-worthwhile watch if you have nothing else to do and you like fma. Cannot and will never be a substitute for the original obviously. Seems like less of a cash grab and more of a genuine effort this time which I appreciate. Overall? 6.5/10

Favorite The Owl House episode?

tbh, haven't rewatched the show in a long long time so might need to rewatch to be sure. for a while, it was eda's requiem. it means a lot to me and genuinely made me realize shit about myself. as dumb as it sounds it's what made me realize "...oh. if I died, that'd...probably fuck up the people around me." so it has a massively special place in my heart. and also the depth it gives eda! made me reevaluate shit about how I view parents and also just. god. the importance of found family and how important it is to acknowledge that it's just as important as blood family. found family is so often treated as secondary and seeing it portrayed as just as important is so fucking good and god! middle aged characters with depth! middle aged WOMEN with depth! some of the most accurate depression rep I've seen. she feels so real and raw and god, it's really nice to see a middle aged character who gave up learning to get back up again and stop feeling like they missed the best of their life and wasted it, and aaorudhdjd. god. I love eda. the music is beautiful and the duet is haunting, raeda fascinates me, and bard magic will ALWAYS be my favorite magic in toh.

I feel like the grey decaying thing works excellently as a metaphor for depression. it's what made me start going "is this a metaphor for mental illness?" because it FEELS like it. the voice acting is top tier and its so fucking good. it's just,,, man. a middle aged woman having an episode all to herself?? baby mes mind would've been BLOWN. her hatred of the curse wouldn't have hit nearly as hard without this episode, I think. the loneliness and feeling like it makes her Less is shown so well in this episode. it's just,,, man. as someone who's struggled with depression all my life, it resonates. she doesn't even CONSIDER king would still love her. raine saved her fucking life there and I'm still fucked up about it. it handles depression very well and its just. Man. that duet is one of the most memorable scenes in the show. darius abomination form is badass, raine's powers are so cool, the bats have my ENTIRE heart, the fucking MUSIC. brads music bangs. I love his soundtracks and this episode is just. always iconic to me.

that being said, I'm not entirely sure if it's my favorite episode right now? my brain flip flops on these things. right now I think it might be eclipse lake because it's just. SUCH a good episode. it's so gorgeous. the fight choreography, the animation, the lore, but most of all the EMOTION.

it has such excellent abuse rep. showing not only the complicated emotional reality of living with your abuser, of being dependent on your abuser, but also the fact that having an abusive relationship influences how you view ALL relationships. I love that amitys trauma isn't sidelined! what originally comes off as amity being a little TOO excited about having a girlfriend and also dana flipping off disney is shown to be amity being fucking terrified of losing this. she's so desperate to prove herself and since they're foils we gain knowledge as to what odalia and amitys relationship might've been like through hunter and gain insight into how hunter might view other relationships going forward through amity and it's LOVELY.

it also drives me insane that people use this episode as proof amity would hate hunter when. nah. nah, absolutely not. also I love how it shows how fucking KIND amity actually is. this boy's threatened and backstabbed her multiple times and is showing he's willing to do ANYTHING to win, and she still feels so much fucking sympathy for him. because she gets it. he's like her. she would've done this in his shoes. she offers him kindness and shows no sign of holding a grudge??? NONE???? this woman is fucking forgiving. she would have every right to hate his guts and she doesn't. idk what y'all mean when you say she's a jerk shes fucking KIND.

also hunters breakdown is painful to watch. I don't know what I can say about it that hasn't already been said. it's so raw and resonant, it feels like watching a real kid, it has such a realistic depiction of abused kids, what else can I say?

I also love the addressing of the cycle of abuse. hunter isn't a pure innocent baby here. he's manipulative and mean and cutthroat. hes a dick! I love him having anger issues because that's how abused kids often are! and I love amity backsliding! I love amity going tunnel vision! I love how realistic and painful the whole episode is!

they're just kids, man. you can tell the crew wanted this to be realistic and they succeeded.

I don't know which I like more. they're both just so GOOD.

Okay, strap in ⸺ this is gonna get long I can feel it in my bones HGFDSGK I cannot. . . not talk about both of these things in a stupid amount of detail. I'm literally gonna just go ahead and stick the keep reading here.

Favourite shows ! I'll start off with SCRUBS. Oh, how I adore this show with every fibre of my being. My stepdad, someone pretty important to me, worked in the emergency room, and actually started his internship within a year of Scrubs beginning. So, watching it with him meant it was always going to cement itself into a special corner of my heart, but even with that aside ⸺ the show is just damn good. It's hilarious, it's heart wrenching, it's got a killer soundtrack each and every season. The characters feel so real, no matter how goofy they or the situations their in are at times.

I simply just think of the episode My Screw Up or My Fallen Idol and I feel a pit in my gut, I tear up. Everyone always brings those episodes up when talking about Scrubs, but there's a reason for that. MAN it's some good T.V. I hardly ever listen to podcasts, but the Scrubs rewatch podcast was one I tuned in for.

The way J.D. sees the world, his little fantasy cutaways, his rambles ⸺ hate to relate to the man LOL but boy does that hit home here. I was thinking about including a favourite scene but I couldn't. The whole show is just everything.

Next up: SUPERNATURAL. Man. I actually haven't seen much of the show past season nine. And even then, I haven't watched seasons 8 or 9 since they came out about ten years ago. And there's 15 seasons in total. That said, the first five seasons of that show. . . Holy hell. I can't begin to get into the way that show makes me feel 😭 It's so nostalgic, it's like coming home after a long time away. My one and only tattoo ( so far lmao ) is from that show. I know it can be cheesy at times, but that adds to its charm for me. I love how of it's time the first few seasons are.

The visuals of it, it's so aesthetically beautiful. And God, when the emotional scenes hit. . . they HIT. They punch through to the depths of my very soul.

There are things about both the brothers I find relatable. They're comforting to me, they're like family.

Last but certainly not least, THE GOOD PLACE. I nearly didn't watch this one. I got into it around the middle of seasons three, but I only knew the premise of "woman who should be in hell ends up in heaven by mistake". Which, if you've watched to show, you know is definitely not the only thing that happens DHGKSJ

I won't go into detail because I always want to avoid spoilers about it where I can because the twists the plot takes throughout the seasons are a lot of fun to experience first hand. And, even if you do know, the show is still super worth it. It sent me down my own philosophy rabbit hole for months. Already interested in it before, I've kept up on it since, I watch lectures whenever they pop up.

The finale. . . UUGGHGKSJDHGKS. One of the best on television. That show fundamentally changed me. I am chronically bad at finishing things, but I have finished both Scrubs and the Good Place. Boy am I glad I have. Best finales ever.

God I love this fight. The teamwork, with Zoro running up a wall (?) to stop someone attacking Luffy, and Sanji watching Zoro's back. Really sets up Sanji and Zoro as Luffy's big hitters

Aaaand Sanji and Zoro are bickering. And it leads them to let Buggy's head go free, so obvs Buggy fucks off and leaves them high and dry. You two share one brain cell, I swear.

Arlong's lecture about fishmen based speciesism vs Luffy, who discovered discrimination existed like two days ago

Don't worry Usopp, we saw your great victory against the fish man. It will never be forgotten.

I did NOT need a close up on Arlong regrowing his broken teeth.

The Marines randomly showing up at the end here makes no sense. What a weird way to end the season. I'm glad we got to see Koby stand up for himself (and Helmeppo standing at his side)

These poor Marines are standing there as it slowly dawns on them that this entire pirate chase has been the vice admirals fucking family drama playing out on the high seas. Men have died for your bullshit, Garp. And then it's all "oh well, I guess I'll let you go be a pirate, Luffy" like nothing happened, bc this is all some kind of test? Which I don't buy at all btw - dude, you weren't testing shit. You wanted to control Luffy and when that didn't work, you came up with a scenario that made it seem like you were in control the whole time.

I don't like Garp. Fuck that guy

This last bit with Koby makes the whole Marine thing worth it tho. Bc he wants to be the one to show Luffy the wanted poster first. Koby looks overcome with love emotions and it's a perfect little bookend to them at the start of the show.

Best reaction to the wanted poster obvs goes to Zeff, bc you know Sanji never managed to get 'employee of the month'

And then the fucking scene with Mihawk and Shanks - what is this?? Mihawk so clearly looks exasperated but then he's willing to stay and drink with Shanks & Co? What ARE you two??

The little cast off ceremony at the very end is so cute tho, with their younger selves saying it with them? Perfect ending is perfect. With just a tiny hint of smoker to get us excited for next season

Anyways, I still love this show. I'm going to go back to watching the anime - maybe I'll post about that, maybe not. Who can say? I just hope everyone had as much fun as I did

Boyd doesn’t ponder on it, he just guides the cherry and presses it against Tim’s skin, finds a spot that’s pale and unmarred and ready for Boyd to leave his mark. He squeezes Tim’s hand harder and acts as an anchor while Tim weathers the pain with admirable resilience. Boyd himself is no stranger to pain. He understands its siren call. He watches with a mix of delight and jealousy as Tim falls headfirst into that song, his lips parting with a low grunt and the corners of his eyes stinging with tears.

Tim’s too drunk to control his face. Or swallow his noises.

Boyd twists the cigarette until he hears Tim make a sound that’s more animal than man.

“Oh, baby,” he coos as he sends the crushed cigarette off into the night. Boyd lets go of Tim’s hand and cups the boy’s face with both hands while Tim cradles his burned arm to his chest, breathing and blinking hard. “I love you, Tim, and I know you love me too. Love us both. Love us enough to hurt for it, ain’t that right?”

All that ice in Tim melts.

He’s warm and easy in Boyd’s arms.

Boyd kisses Tim then. Kisses those wet cheeks and his sweaty brow. More kisses over his closed eyes, his nose, and a final one pressed slowly on his forehead. Boyd rises up on his knees while Tim stays slumped on the ground, still trapped between his truck and Boyd’s body. They’re almost at their destination, but they still got a little further to go.

Oh boy oh boy this fic. THIS FIC. Fire Tests Gold.

I didn't struggle to get this fic written, the words actually flowed quite smoothly, but emotionally it was draining to put this one down and I was a bit anxious to send it out into the world. Honestly, I’m even wary about answering this ask lol but I’m not going to let past anon hate keep from playing with the justies and talking about my fics with folks that like my fics.

Here we go.

I should preface this author commentary by talking a bit about my take on Boy Chowder Boyd Crowder. I am simply…not interested in giving Boyd any type of redemption. Not even a little bit of redemption, as a treat. It doesn’t spark anything special in my brain. Boyd told us who he was every moment of the final season, right up until that very ending scene in prison. When people show you who they are, believe them etc etc. So, whenever I write Boyd, I take his choices in canon to heart and let it guide his characterization even when I’m off wandering into canon divergence or wild AU territory.

And to get personal for a moment, writing Boyd PoV always fucks me up a little.

Boyd is a compelling antagonist and an extremely well-written character, his place in Justified’s story is needed and it elevates the show because Goggins is such a stellar actor. But he's not a character I closely relate to on any level. Even if I’m drawn to try and understand him. 

When it comes to fanfiction, he’s purely a character I see from a "let's study him like a bug" perspective. He's not a character that holds up a mirror to show me something about myself. Instead, Boyd reminds me of all the different charming, dangerous men I've met in my life. Both the ones that have hurt me and the ones that I managed to evade by, you know, recognizing that charm for what it was and leaving before it got worse. Or cutting off contact before it could even start.

I often use fanfic, both in reading and writing, to grapple with difficult life events or help me sort through complicated emotions. And when I wrote Fire Tests Gold, I was in a creatively burned out space and haunted by some memories. So, yeah, this fic deals with heavy stuff while being wrapped up in a “boyd/tim with background ot3 in a toxic sadomasochistic tango” packaging, but when you open it up that’s what is going on inside.

Anyways.

I've written very dark fics before: in a pitch black world anything goes (Boyd POV) and last night i felt real arms around me (Quarles). These were approached as character studies focused on taking a peek inside their warped lil minds. The narration style was up-front about being what it was, about watching where that darkness was coming from without letting readers succumb to it. They’re horror stories in a way. Boyd and Quarles were portrayed in clear villain roles and Tim as an obvious victim. There’s no justification or excuse for what they did there, the reader is meant to be chilled by and grossed out and feel righteous in hating them.

…not this one. Not Fire Tests Gold.

Out of all the dark fics I’ve written, this one TO ME, takes the cake.

I purposefully let Boyd's bullshit overpower the narrative and allowed him to influence the perception of things as an unreliable narrator. Likewise, I muddled Tim up so he doesn't seem like a hapless innocent in this.

Is the movement of Tim’s head meant to tell us Tim is consenting to what Boyd is about to do? Well…no. Even Boyd owns up to the reality, but this is quickly brushed aside as unimportant because throughout the whole fic Boyd has been compiling a long list of reasons and excuses and marks against Tim so Boyd doesn’t have to feel a crumb of guilt or regret for hurting Tim.

I made a deliberate choice to have Boyd's dialogue and his actions and his thoughts and his desires and his perspective take over everything else. Tim, what he's actually feeling and wanting out of this and trying to do, is locked up and only slips in a few places. What's going on with Tim is left as an implication in his silences and with his passivity. How Tim speaks and the particular way he phrases things is more important than what he actually says.

In fact, Tim doesn’t get any dialogue in this whole passage because it wouldn’t matter what Tim said. Boyd wouldn’t have let himself hear it anyway.

He squeezes Tim’s hand harder and acts as an anchor while Tim weathers the pain with admirable resilience. Boyd himself is no stranger to pain. He understands its siren call. He watches with a mix of delight and jealousy as Tim falls headfirst into that song, his lips parting with a low grunt and the corners of his eyes stinging with tears. 

Boyd’s viewpoint is smothering Tim’s. It even refocuses Tim’s pain so it’s about Boyd instead. I feel like Boyd’s cruelty in this is very…calculated and part of that calculation is Boyd telling himself lies when they get into the thick of things. He tangles up the narrative so this is something they’re doing together rather than something he’s doing to Tim. And he does that by acting like he’s being sympathetic and relating to Tim and even by complimenting Tim in a way.

Boyd has a natural way of seizing the spotlight and taking control, and he goes hog wild with that in the latter half of the fic.

Boyd twists the cigarette until he hears Tim make a sound that’s more animal than man.

This was really to just highlight that Boyd is fully snubbing the cigarette out on Tim. It’s not a light or quick thing. It’s done mean. That’s a burn that’ll scar and that’ll stay and Boyd does so consciously.

Most of the time when I write OT3, I write it with the idea that the polyamory starts out as a V with Raylan being the point of connection between them. That it doesn’t develop into a true triangle until later.

I made that true for this little fic. This is an entirely self-contained OT3 fic. It’s not connected to me and Kerri’s On the Back Porch series or a spin-off of some object of desire. I wanted to dive into something supremely fucked up and didn’t want to get hung-up on any backstory or try to explain why Raylan, Boyd, and Tim are living in Miami. I just in media res’d it hardcore.

Here Boyd carries around a lot of jealousy and anger and possessive, obsessive emotions that are itching for a way to get out and have been simmering for a long, long time. And because of that I do feel like Boyd does revel in this chance to punish Tim. He hurts Tim because Raylan won’t stop loving Tim. He hurts Tim because Boyd is attracted to Tim and Boyd resents that loss of control over himself. 

But he also hurts Tim because…he can.

Their dynamic here is also suggested by the title btw. Boyd is the fire and Tim is the gold (because Tim is Raylan's gold...and Tim will be Boyd's gold too if Tim behaves correctly aka if he lets Boyd have his way).

"Oh, baby,” he coos as he sends the crushed cigarette off into the night. Boyd lets go of Tim’s hand and cups the boy’s face with both hands while Tim cradles his burned arm to his chest, breathing and blinking hard. “I love you, Tim, and I know you love me too. Love us both. Love us enough to hurt for it, ain’t that right?” All that ice in Tim melts. He’s warm and easy in Boyd’s arms.

I wrote this with the idea that this is a desperate defeat rather than any type of healthy submission from Tim. If someone hurts you bad enough, sometimes you’ll want them to comfort you despite them being the source of the pain – and that’s why we don’t see Tim fight back or try to get away from Boyd. And of course the idea of love being used as a justification for awful things.

This is also where Boyd changes his tune. Goes from cruel to "sweet" because Tim behaves the way Boyd wants.

Boyd kisses Tim then. Kisses those wet cheeks and his sweaty brow. More kisses over his closed eyes, his nose, and a final one pressed slowly on his forehead. Boyd rises up on his knees while Tim stays slumped on the ground, still trapped between his truck and Boyd’s body. 

It was important here that I detailed how Boyd is the one doing all the kissing. And that Tim stays passive afterward.

They’re almost at their destination, but they still got a little further to go.

This was a way to indicate that both in the moment and in the long term, Boyd’s not done with Tim. He’s going to hurt Tim again and good lord he’s probably going to get away with it. This isn't the end of anything between them that's where the story cuts off.

Moral Orel #30: “Nature - Part 2” | July 16, 2007 - 12:15AM | S02E20

Hey everyone it’s part 2! Of… Oh yeah, I forgot, this one’s pretty bleak. Sorry. I’ll change my tone. 

Charles Darwin once quoted his own father: 

To my deep mortification my father once said to me, "You care for nothing but shooting, dogs, and rat-catching, and you will be a disgrace to yourself and all your family.

I honestly don’t know what this has to do with the episode I watched. I just typed “Chrarles Darwin quotes” and “father” into google and that was the first thing that came up. It sorta has to do with the episode on some shallow level, but not enough for me to really build a thesis statement. If anything, I just made the intro to this write-up much worse. To be honest, I don’t like having to give emotional weight to things that already have plenty of it. Did I ever once dedicate a post to 9/11 on this blog? Wait, I did? Oh. Well, that was anti-humor or some other really smart thing. Deal with it! Deal with ME!

This is the continuation of “Nature”, which technically is called that and not “Nature - Part 1”. If you recall, that episode ended with a gunshot. It’s heavily implied that Orel shot his father. After the opening sequence we see what happened: Orel merely shot Clay’s last two bottles of booze. Clay reacts poorly to this. He picks up his rifle and points it at Orel; seemingly with an intent to shoot? And then he shoots Orel. In the leg. 

The intent is murky, and sorta up for debate. How deliberate was this action? I don’t know, and I don’t know if anyone does. By this I mean I read one thread on reddit where somebody asks this, and nobody linked to an interview with Dino saying whether Clay intentionally shot his son or not. It sorta seems like he did. Less murky is Clay’s reaction; hypocritically acting concerned that his son had been shot (intentionally downplaying the fact that he himself did it). Orel tells Clay that he, against Clay’s wishes, brought some disinfectant so Clay can clean the wound. Clay finds the rubbing alcohol and chugs it instead of using it to treat Orel’s wound. Orel looks Clay in the eyes and tells him: “I hate you.” 

At this point, Clay passes out. A bear shows up at the campsite and looks like he’s about to maul Clay. Orel shoots the bear dead. Clay stays passed out through morning, and doesn’t wake up until the next evening. Clay denies responsibility for shooting Orel, because he doesn’t remember it. When he sees the dead bear on the ground, he momentarily gets excited that Orel may have actually shot something. When he asks Orel for details, Orel denies it, saying Clay shot the bear while he was blackout drunk. Goddamn, dude. I’m crying like Kevin Smith at a Marvel movie over here.

The next scene is Clay and Orel having come from Dr. Potterswheel’s. Orel is in bed recovering from the traumatic ordeal. Bloberta brings him a plate of fatty foods, and Orel asks her why she married Clay. “Why not?” she answers. Season three focuses on this moment, where we explore their relationship a little more. Orel remarks that when Clay drinks he changes. She says that he doesn’t change; that it’s just his true nature coming out. Credits roll one-by-one over a shot of Orel in his bedroom; the camera is outside peering in through the window. We hear nothing but animal noises, and we see some crawling around. These noises and sights are usually tastefully absent from the suburban life Moralton enjoys. There’s also a blue crane in the tree, sorta watching over Orel. It either represents Orel’s innocence, or his faith, or whatever. It depends on who you ask. The episode is dedicated to John Cassevettes. 

Man, this is a powerful episode. Together, Natures Part 1 & 2 are a masterpiece. Season three would follow in a similar vein; how could it not? I mean, the show’s downfall was basically this episode and this turn; Adult Swim felt like they were no longer getting the show that they’d purchased. So they killed it, essentially. Would things have been different if Dino agreed to produce episodes of the show that explicitly took place before the hunting trip? Some of the episodes of season three do, in fact, take place before the hunting trip. Should he have pulled a Sledge Hammer! season two? We’re doing a Sledge Hammer! season two, Morty. The world didn’t end and we’re shooting on 16mm film Morty. When will you finally turn 18 Morty??

Unfortunately this isn’t Monkey 60, it’s someone else. The big issue that manga made and I can see it is how ultimately nothing matter. Don’t mistake my intentions, loving who you are is a great message but when the message involves a character being ignored while showing signs of heavy depression to the point of being not alive (I’m hoping this phrase is okay) and them magically getting over it feels sorta disgusting. It’s like a bad form of coping that I feel is more toxic than positive and the writers are trying to paint it like committing not alive (again I’m hoping this phrase is okay) and being reborn makes all the problems go away.

The mentioning of how Ruby's friends and family don't show concern for Ruby? That's not true. They do show concern for Ruby. Everyone is visibly uncomfortable when Ruby gives the parting line at the end of V9 E2. Blake tries to comfort Ruby during E7 and remind her of staying cheerful. Yang...does this three fucking times.

Do you want to know what Ruby herself does each time? She rejects them. She pushes them away or shoots down their concerns. Then she explodes on them for things that are either not their fault or just trying to move on.

RUby wasn't ignored- She felt ignored because she was isolating herself.

And just as well- Only Ruby could pull herself out of that slump. Only Ruby could pull herself out of that hole she dug herself in. Only Ruby could overcome that.

'But isn't it really wrong to just have your character magically get over suicidal depression after a small talk?'

Maybe. But you know what would be worse than Ruby's situation?

Losing the only man who ever believed in you, showed faith in you and guided you. Your so-called comrades not only TRULY ignore your pain, one of them even says that you're at fault for his death because you had an emotional episode and he died saving you. And all he gets is a minor call out by his sister. But you getting up in your friend's face, putting blame on him for your bro's death because of his religion? That's a big no-no. And the only person to actually try talking to you is some girl you found about a day ago. But hey, it's all better now! The girl you use to have a crush on told a story about your bro that you might have not even heard and you're all better after a speech!

Oh. It's not only one of the most well remembered scenes in one of the most well beloved recent anime-

It's the story of the character who inspired me to keep living.

Yeah, I wasn't just saying bullshit to defend RWBY when I said I've had suicidal thoughts. That is something i legitimately went through. Back when i was in high school, with depression destroying my motivation to work on my grades, my mom screaming her head off at me about how I was ruining my life, how I hated how angry and temperamental I was. I legitimately thought about sliting my wrists and walking out into the snow to die.

And then i caught Kill La Kill on Toonami at my grandpa's house. I thought it looked cool so I looked it up and found Gurren Lagann. And I binged watched it. I watched a kid who went through far worse than me, finding himself in as deep a hole as me. And he pulled himself out. He found the will to keep living, to keep fighting, to break through any wall in front of him. And by the end, Simon was a true hero.

And that inspired to keep living.

I'm sorry but the arguments Kamen and so many make about Ruby's arc would also apply to Simon's. That there's no self reflection? Simon proceeds to do reckless bullshit throughout the series.

That no one cares about them and no one reflects on how they affected them? Team Dai-Gurren legitimately NEVER check up on Simon or try talking to him. NIA did more for him than they did and she knew him for a fucking day.

That what they did to them was toxic? Gee, at least Team RWBY admitted they may have made a mistake. Kittan, the guy who threw Kamina's death into Simon's face, acts like he always knew he was okay and he suffers no consequences for his actions.

That they're magically okay afterwards? Trying to show me a picture of Ruby coming back and Simon coming back would be like that Office meme- they're the same damn picture.

In every regard, for me to accept that RWBY fucked up would be to accept that Gurren Lagann fucked up as bad if not WORSE. And that doesn't work considering it resonated with me enough to keep going.

So I hope you understand why I don't think these arguments work. Especially since I know quite a few of these guys are Gurren Lagann fans.

Some thoughts watching Nightmare Time 2 episode 3

- I didn’t like Sherman too much in Black Friday, but throughout the entirety of Young At Heart I was just like “Oh. He’s me.” 

- That glitch at the end where all the care bears turned into the Lords In Black. HOLY FRICK. That made me stop breathing. Freaking gut drop. Gosh dang. Soul-chilling. God. Frick.

- I NEVER expected anything about THIS from Frank Pricely. Black Friday made it seem like all he cared about was money but??? He just loves toys?????? He just genuinely loves toys??????? He just wants to sell toys??????????? My heart?????????????? I’m gonna be SAD when this guy gets frick over. Heck. I expected this to be like Linda Monroe, just enjoying a butthole get subjected to a heck ton of struggle and ultimately get their comeuppance, but no, I LIKE this guy now. Frick. (and i really was just meant to start watching this at the exact time I did, huh? i just had a whole moment with my stuffed animals that i won’t get into here)

- When Sherman said “growing up is for the poor.” I. It kind of felt like a knife in the gut honestly.

- Jaime playing both Sherman AND Sheila. She has the ✨RANGE.✨

- I kind of agree with what Frank said about how he had to work for the money for his own toys and Sherman’s just getting spoiled and all, but I’m kind of worried abou how his attempts to change that will go.

What did you think of the music and the art? The voice actors, the backgrounds and the outfits? Anything you really liked?

I personally love the music! I even listen to it all day long during work 😊. I am so glad the OST was given with the limited edition of the game ☺.

My favourite track is "Key to a Possibility"(?) ("Kanousei no kagi") 😆, which is the music that plays when Keith unleashes his magic. It is so epic and exciting! I was so in awe during this scene, and this music contributes a lot to it.

The "Pirate Trigger" music is gorgeous. I get an intense feeling of freedom 😌, and it feels like the world is expanding with so many possibilities when I listen to it

The "Hand in Hand" theme is the music which plays during an ending scene. It is so emotional and really feels like Katarina and her chosen capture target will be happy together... 🥲

The "Sweeter than a romance novel" music is the music which plays during sweet moments. I love it ☺.

In addition to this, the opening and ending songs are great too! But I prefer the ending song. When I watch the ending credits, it feels like everyone is so close to each other.😁

Regarding the art, I would say it is okay, but not gorgeous. Keith is not as handsome as in the anime and the color of his eyes is too light in my opinion 😑. His eyes should be a darker blue. Geordo looked a bit different than usual in his confession scene too 😕. But Nicol's CGs are always great, especially when he saves Katarina 😁! For some reason, Mary looked like she was in her late twenties, but it may be only me 😅?

Regarding their clothes, to be honest I didn't like the party clothes they were given 😕. The "swimsuits" were okay on the girls (aside from giving jewelry to people swimming), but I don't think the swimsuits looked good on the guys (except Alan).

Regarding the voice acting, it was great too☺. I got chills during the scene when Keith unleashed his magic. I blushed all along during the scene where Keith hugged Katarina from behind, even without understanding the lines where Katarina said he was whispering in her ear and that his voice sounded sexy. Katarina singing the pinky swear song bringed warmth to my heart. It also felt so emotional when she called Keith to save her.

...I guess I keep mentioning Keith's moments 😅... It is the first route I played after all, so it made the most impression.

Regarding the others, I love Nicol and Rozy's voice actors, but I don't have anything special to mention. Except I almost cried at Nicol's 4th memory scenarios, when his parents congratulate him for finally stealing getting the girl he loves 🥲.

I don't particularly love Silva's voice, but I love how chill he sounds

Oh, there is also this scene when Rozy asked Geordo to leave Katarina's protection to him (because she seemed terrified of Geordo). When Geordo said "...Leave Katarina's protection to you? ... I guess it can't be helped... Katarina, I will leave this... other man... protect you...". The tone of his voice was really sinister 😰!

I also loved Liliana's voice, it was sweet and cute 😊. Except when she got emotional, then it was too high-pitched. Cet's voice is annoying as fuck 😠, the voice actor made a great job to make you hate him just by hearing him.

Okay, I think it is about all I can say 🙂.

I did not expect to actually start bawling my eyes out but hot damn what the fuck . Why is Flapjack dying what got me above everything else in this show. Like I've gotten teary and emotional over other moments but Flapjack dying and all of Hunter's dialogue that proceeded it just made me SOB ??????????????

Also hello fluid as fuck animation in that fight scene 😳 i misse d you

so anyway. Now we gotta talk about possessed!Hunter right. While that's a bombass design and I love the look of it and his body language in the fluid parts of the animation is impeccable, it's also incredibly. URGH. NO I don't LIKE it. No I HATE it, actually. There's something just . Incomprehensibly genuinely upsetting about Hunter's former abuser taking over his body and using it to kill his emotional support animal

it's SO fucked up and I'm all for horrible twisted shit but also for fuck's sake man can Hunter get a fucking break!!! Can he like!!! Be free for two minutes!!!!!

I think it just feels like such a consecutive gut punch because we're missing so much extra filler and that's what makes me all the more sad. You can TELL you can TASTE how much more they wanted to expand on this, how much more there was to elaborate on, but they just didn't have the time and so Hunter Really Going Thru It yet again just feels like . got dam he really did not get a single break my guy can't even REST!!! it feels to me like he's just constantly through the ringer because it's all we've been able to see and that SUCKS

but they make a whole point of saying he has been happier in the human realm ("you've smiled so much since we got here" from Gus, something along those lines) . They want us to know he Has been happy for the past few months, there HAS been a break. n I feel like that was their way of trying to say ,,, Look See he's been at semi-sorta-peace for a little while! [ the storyteller: tales of life and music - dave grohl ] i am a huge foo fighters fan and grew up with my mom loving dave grohl, the stories he tells in this book are not chronological; but they are beautiful. it makes me admire this man more than i did, he’s truly inspiring. 4.5/5 stars, -0.5 because i could not retain as well when it would jump from year to year.

[ suicide notes - michael thomas ford ] i did not enjoy this book for as much as it was overhyped. i understood the plot, i understood the story, it was gripping but not generally moving. a common coming-of-age young romance with mental illness; not bad yet not the best. 2/5 stars, -3 because i did not like how slow and basic the storyline was, though i liked few of the characters

[ daisy jones & the six - taylor jenkins reid ] OH IM A TAYLOR JENKINS REID GIRLIE NOW. i had previously heard of evelyn hugo but at the time djats series had just came out, and i was curious to read the book. i watched the pilot and was sold, you’d think a hippie gal who loves rock bands would pass this up ?? TJR’s book style is so easy for me to get into too, i could NOT put the book down. greta writing and great storyline, forever a camila kinner and truther. -4.5/5 stars, -0.5 bc i HATED billy dunne and book eddie loving.

[ 11/22/63 - stephen king ] i read this for extra credit in my language arts class and when i tell you i’ve been DYING to read this book since i saw my mom read it. my roman empire is the JFK presidency and assassination, and i’ve always enjoyed stephen king… so this was just a chefs kiss. although, mr stephen king holds onto scenes a little too long and it could’ve been a 600 page book, not 800. so sometimes i caught myself snoozing, but i loved the concept loved the book. time traveling + historical + thriller + romance = 4/5 starred book, -1 only because it was longer than it should’ve been

[ water for elephants - sara gruen ] this book is one of those “it gets good at the end” books. i put this book down twice and it took me majority of the year to get into it. i did not enjoy the beginning, but over time and chapters it became better. true story on a circus with what i’m guessing are fictional main characters. either way it was good, good paced, and interesting. definitely makes you look at circuses or any animal show differently. 3/5 stars, -2 just cause the beginning was slow

[ intensity - dean koontz ] …. now wtf. i read this bc my mom recommended it… don’t read it. it’s good it’s crazy it blows your mind, but it is so so fucked up. it’s a murder story and it’s just gross and weird. intensity is the right title, it was very intense. i was holding my breath on so many scenes, yet it was somehow enjoyable just because of how much of a thriller it was. 3/5, -2 only cause i would never read it again, and it was gross.

[ red, white, & royal blue - casey mcquiston ] i noticed this was a movie so i thought why not watch it, i don’t tend to watch stuff before i read it, but i wanted a judgement on this book. i loved the movie just bc it was so cutesy and the characters were so in love. and i got that right in the book. definitely your typical cheesy teenage romance book with light smut, and very gay. so as much as people critique it, i enjoyed it and it was what i needed to read or have in that moment. just a sappy and cutesy love story. 4/5 stars, -1 because i wasn’t left as content as i thought i’d be

[ the seven husbands of evelyn hugo - taylor jenkins reid ] taylor jenkins reid the woman that you are. i understood the hype, i loved the book, it was written so well. there’s twists and just emotion and i loved it. i tabbed the book and everything. i just loved it, it’s truly a gripping and great story. fuck men, except for one he was a sweetheart. plus it’s around marilyn monroe/rita hayworth actress era and i eat that shit up. 5/5 stars, she’s just that girl.

[ the book thief - markus zusak ] :( i love this book but oh is it sad. i reread it for a school unit. liesel meminger you’re a remarkable girl. 4/5 stars, point off bc we had to do assignments on it and i hated one section of the book.

[ the complete persepolis - marjane satrapi ] during the iran revolutions and conflicts with the shah and stuff. it was okay, not my favorite but not bad. also a graphic novel!! autobiography also, pretty neat. 3/5 stars, not my cup of tea and we had to do stupid assignments on them that made us think too hard abt it

His glare is making the demon freeze in place right now, and the anger radiating off of him is petrifying

How dare- how dare this fool harm you, in front of him no less?! Did they think that he wouldn’t do anything? That Lucifer, the Avatar of Pride, one of the strongest demons to ever grace the Devildom, would just idly stand by and let this happen?

Also, another thing that people forget about Mammon is that he can talk to crows. So it wasn’t much to have them track down the person who caused you pain, and it didn’t take long for him to find them either. He thinks that the aftermath will set a good lesson for everyone else who continues to underestimate him when it comes to you: don’t

See, this is why he never leaves his safe haven AKA his room!

After he saw your head hit the ground hard, he was freaking out. He doesn’t know what to do, he wasn’t prepared for this! He tried shaking you to keep you awake, but your eyes were steady closing

Everyone knows how bad Levi’s tantrums can be, but this isn’t just a tantrum, it’s much worse. Had the brothers not intervene, he would have done much worse than summoning Lotan (which he was on the brink of doing anyway)

When you did wake up, he was so upset. Of course he let this happen, he’s just a worthless otaku who couldn’t even keep his crush safe-

We all know that Levi is very self conscious. He knows that he isn’t confident like Lucifer and Mammon, or attractive like Asmo, or smart like Satan or Belphie, or physically fit like Beel, he knows. But every time you listen to him ramble on about this new anime show that he wants you guys to binge, or when he rants about a stupid move his teammate did in an online match, he feels valued. He feels loved. And while it’s hard for him to express his feelings, it’s no doubt in his mind that you’re important to him, and that he’s beyond happy that someone like you is his best friend

One day he’ll get the courage to say those three words, but he hopes that you already know with everything that he does for you

For example, Levi is an aquatic demon, and he has the ability to communicate with all types of sea creatures. Granted, he knows right from wrong, but in his eyes he’s taking care of the problem. So it wouldn’t be a huge issue if he used them to clean up the remaining mess of said problem, right? I mean, his venom can only do so much, and he doesn’t need anyone questioning him, and Lotan does get hungry...

Satan

He could only see red. Both from his anger surfacing and from the fact that you’re bleeding

He had his claws wrapped around the neck of the one responsible before they could even think about running. This- this filth dared tried to escape after he hurt you? And they thought that Satan would just let them get away with it?

They must forget that he’s the Avatar of Wrath, the one who doesn’t show mercy

He just kept pounding the demon into the ground, over and over and over and over. He didn’t even care about the blood splatter it was leaving on the lockers or on him

He was this close to finishing them off when he heard you call out for him, and it took everything in him to drop them. He squeezed their neck a final time, not even close to being satisfied with the whimper he heard, and growled out a promise of that he will find them and will make sure that they suffer before he threw them down. They better count themselves lucky that they get to crawl away in one piece (for now), because had you not been there-

Oh, he is seething the more he thinks about it

But you bleeding is a distraction from it, even if it is making his stomach turn, it’s helping him know that he needs to help you now

He didn’t have to let his brothers know as they came to see what the commotion was, and Lucifer (even if he didn’t want to believe it himself) was anxious that he was the cause of it. But after he saw the hold he had on you and another demon barely clinging onto life, he knew otherwise

It was decided that you two going home would be the best course of action (which it didn’t matter to Satan, you both weren’t going to stay here whether it was demanded or not), and he calmed down enough to properly treat you

You didn’t leave his room for the rest of the day, and he even gave up his bed for you to lie in so that he can do some research. The human body is a complicated thing, but Satan can learn it like the back of his hand just for you. So just go ahead and rest for now MC- or maybe not, you might have a concussion according to this book and if you do he needs to monitor your condition!

Even after you were healed, he didn’t let you out of his sight and daily checkups were a must. Dr. Satan is in the building!

You eventually moved back into your room (you would have stayed longer but he’s a little nervous with his towering stacks of books and doesn’t want anymore accidents), but he practically moved in with you with how much he comes over, either falling asleep at your desk reading a book or falling asleep in your chair right next to your bed

Very reluctant to have you around stairs, it makes the hairs on his neck stand up. He’ll let you go down the stairs ONLY if you’re holding his hand. If you’re upset with those conditions (spoiler alert you’re not), then you better be ready to learn some teleportation spells (but even then he’s still not leaving your side)

However, he tries not to lash out in front of you. He realizes that he lost control with that demon, and how it could have terrified you had you been fully conscious, but he doesn’t want you to think that he’s just a monster. He wants you to continue to treat him like you do now, and not have the image of bashing someone’s bloody body on the floor repeatedly

Speaking of bashing someone, Satan made well on his promise of coming back. He’s starting to panic, and he’s so scared that if he tightens his hold against you he’ll just make things worse, that he’ll just hurt you more. But he needs to go find Lucifer, he needs to get you help, you’re feeling so light in his arms and it reminds him of the Celestial War when he witnessed his sister dying-

He hears someone snickering behind him, and that’s when he loses his temper

You’re a part of his family now, someone that he loves and cares for more than he can describe, and they did this to you? Someone who wouldn’t even squish a bug, someone who made him late night snacks without even asking, always there to give him hugs after his games no matter how sweaty, someone that put his family back together and they did this to you?

Lucifer and Mammon struggled to hold him back after they found the demon flung through the wall, laying under the rubble. Beel just kept growling, fangs bared and wings buzzing. He won’t stop trying to get out of their hold, and he keeps inching closer and closer to the demon, and it’s only a matter of time before he finishes what he started

Speaking of carrying, you are not allowed to walk down the stairs anymore. As soon as you step near some you find yourself in his arms like it’s nothing. Both at home and at school, it doesn’t matter to him

Also he’s very cautious to have you around people besides his brothers, and the exchange students (but he’s still hesitant about Solomon, anyone who can cook food like him is automatically getting the side eye)

Also you practically moved in with the twins, and it’s nothing compared to the sleepovers before. Belphie sleeps easier, Beel’s stomach is satisfied (eating your homemade sweets with you is better than everything combined at Hell’s Kitchen, and trust me he knows) he feels all warm inside, and you’re protected. Everyone’s happy!

Beel is a sweet guy, just don’t come in between his family or his food. After that whole incident with the demon, everyone has come to understand that, especially after seeing just how much damage he caused both to the demon and the school in so little time...

If he was sleepy before, he’s completely awake now

After a tap to the demon’s forehead, they just collapsed before him, unmoving. He didn’t even look down when he stepped over them (or rather stepped on them) to get to you. You’re passed out, but still breathing. You can’t stay here like this, and he refuses to tell Diavolo or Lucifer. He’ll figure something out, maybe Satan has some books in his room on what to do...

When you woke up, you found yourself wrapped in blankets and Belphie sleeping beside you, arms wrapped tight. You were confused, when did you get home? You remember walking with him down the stairs, but everything was blurry after that. What happen-

Honestly, the only demons who he’s okay with disturbing you two is Beel and maybe Satan. Beel because that’s his twin and it’s his room too, and Satan only if he’s checking on you medically or if he has some new ideas to mess with Lucifer. Everyone else is just trying to bother you and be annoying, and you don’t need that

Of course he blames himself for this! How is he suppose to keep you safe, to make up for his mistake? But then it clicks

It’s not the fact that he’s weak, people think that he’s weak. But he realizes that this is fine, he’ll use that to his advantage.

Diavolo is upset and Lucifer is running out of excuses for him, but Belphie just plays stupid and says he can’t remember how to remove it (even though he does). Let the demon lose some more sleep until they learn their lesson, whether it’s from the constant nightmares or from sleep deprivation trying to stay awake to avoid said nightmares. He’ll remove it when he feels like it, and he doesn’t see that happening anytime soon

Let people think the Avatar of Sloth is weak, that he’s not a threat, and he can show them exactly how wrong they are. Better yet, this demon can be the perfect example, and many more if they become a bother to you (and him)

You’re too nice MC, too delicate. You treat him so good, like he’s not a demon, like he’s not the monster who took your life, and he has to thank you for that somehow. He feels like whatever he does won’t be enough for the kindness you give him, but protecting you from others who used to be like him could be a good start

However, he made sure that Barbatos took the demon who did this and kept them in the dungeon until he was done treating you. He won’t let this go unpunished, he can’t and he won’t

You’re an important part of the exchange program, and you’re most important to him, and he’s upset with himself that you got hurt. You’re so delicate, and you don’t deserve any of this happening to you, but what can he do? While he trusts the brothers to keep you safe, he wants to keep an eye on you personally, but how?

Then it struck him

You liked to stay in the castle, always smiling and having fun whenever you spent time with him there, so why not relocate you there?? It’ll be like an extended sleepover/retreat with just you two!! Diavolo decided that your condition needed to be monitored closely, and since he’s the person directly in charge of the exchange program AND the ruler over the Devildom, there was no room to argue. You weren’t going to stay in the castle forever, just until he deemed it right to return to the HoL

When you did ask Diavolo about it, he just pat your head and said that what happened was unacceptable and that the demon has been dealt with accordingly.

You don’t need to hear about what really happened to them, he doesn’t want to scare you or taint your innocence! But he doesn’t mind if anyone else hears it, he’ll be more than happy to explain in full detail what happened and what will happen to demons that even think about attempting to harm you or think that he’s “too soft”. They won’t think he’s a soft ruler after that

Diavolo is a very sweet man, one that treats you as if you’re ruling by his side as his partner and one that you never have to be scared of, but even you didn’t miss the deadly glint in his eyes whenever he spoke about that demon...

Hesitation

Technoblade x GN!Reader

It was always peaceful in the tundra right before the sun set. Not only did the orange and red colours that reflected off the shiny snow send a wave of tranquility through the lands. It was a specific time where all the animals would go back into their homes before the mobs spawned at night fall, leaving the lands in complete silence.

Phil loved working at this time, getting small tasks done around the house that he wasn’t able to do throughout the day. Whether it was washing the dishes or dusting out the book shelves. Maybe even lounged around near the fireplace, planning out what he had to do the next day. It was always quiet, void of distractions to keep him from doing them.

But of course, with peace always came chaos.

“YOU CHEATED!”

“NO I DIDN’T!”

“YES YOU DID!”

The door cracked open, slamming against the wall behind it making the blonde jump from the sudden noise. He was ready to pick up his sword by his side until he recognised the voices of his house mates, shouting like little children.

Phil sighed, continuing to wash the dishes in front of him. While the bickering tended to amuse him at times, right then he just wanted to stay in the silence. He was quick to grab a pear of earplugs from his chest, pushing them snugly into his ear, blocking out the noise you both brought into the house while humming a small tune.

“There’s no way that your horse is faster that Carl! That’s just not possible!” Techno shook his head, his entire body still except for his left foot tapping consistently on the floor, “It’s just not possible.”

“Okay-” you pointed your finger in his face, “First off, her name is Raven and secondly, you just can’t admit that she’s better than Carl.” you crossed your arms on your chest, looking up at the piglin with teasing eyes.

Tech threw his head back with a groan, turning around gruffly and taking off his cape along with the skull mask covering his face.

“I won’t admit it because it isn't true!” he turned back to face you, mimicking your stance and tilting his head slightly to the side.

You raised your eyebrows at his response, nodding slowly, “Alright, alright,” you slowly took of your cloak, bunching it up and throwing it at him, his reflexes catching it before the fabric hit his chest, “Maybe it’s just the ridder and not the horse.”

Techno gasped, “You take that back.” he threw your cloak to the side.

You hummed, looking up and faking a thinking face, “Nah... I don’t think I will, I said what I said.” you stepped closer to the hybrid, sizing up his figure, “And what are you going to do about it?”

Techno squinted his eyes, a small smirk making its way to his face before he grabbed you by the waist, throwing you over his shoulder and walking away from the entrance into the living room.

“Hey!” You pounded at his back, wiggling in his tight grip, “Put me down you loaf!”

He laughed at your words but obliged, throwing you on the couch near the fireplace. Before you could sit up, he crawled over your form, knee besides one side of your waist with his other foot planted on the floor, keeping him steady hovering over you.

“Techno-” you chuckled nervously, trying your best not to stray away from his intense gaze, fighting the heat starting to rise to your face. Your hands pushed at his chest, weakening when he brought his face closer to yours, making you feel smaller than you already were.

He didn’t say anything, instead his fingers dug into your stomach, wiggling them across the fabric of your shirt. Your laugher filled the air, high pitched and bouncing off the walls of the cottage. You tried your best to control them, not wanting to give in to the blood god’s actions so quickly. But your hands on your stomach did nothing to stop his.

“Oh. My. God! Techno! Stop you fucking- oh god!”

“Take it back Y/n!” he laughed along with you, continuing his assault on your stomach, “Take it back or I swear to god you’re going to loose a canon life from being too ticklish.”

“NEVER!” you shouted between laugher, screaming when his hands began to move faster, knocking the breath out of your lungs. In the heat of the moment, he took your wrists into his fist, pinning them above your head, keeping your hands from interfering with his plans.

“Say. It.” even with one hand we was doing enough to keep you squirming underneath him, desperate for an escape.

“Okay! Okay! You- You’re a good rider Techno! You’re a good rider!” you finally admitted, your body falling limp against the cushions when he finally raised his fingers from your stomach.

Techno laughed at your state, leaning back with a cocky smirk on his face, “Glad to know we could come to an agreement,”

“I hate you,” you mumbled, your head rolling to the side on your shoulder as you caught your breath. You closed eyes in relief that the past few minutes were over, nearly falling asleep with the amount of energy you spent laughing.

Techno chuckled, taking your chin into his fingers, turning your head to look back at him, “Is that so?”

You nodded, fluttering your eyes open to look up at the pink haired man. Your breath hitched when you noticed how close his face was to yours. His entire presence felt suddenly close, his chest puffed out with long breaths, his legs practically tangled with yours, his face hovering over you, radiating heat you didn’t notice while he was tickling you. You watched as his face lit up red, his piglin ears straightening out of the side of his head, probably taking in the proximity as well.

Techno wasn’t one to get flustered often, but when he did it was always with the people he cared about. He trusted them enough to let that blood god persona he put on fade away leaving behind his shy, nerdy side you always adored. The side of techno who would read by the fireplace with Steve sat snuggly in his lap, the Techno who would spend hours trying to fix his glasses that broke constantly in his strong grip only having to craft a new one. The Techno who would grumble about compliments from you and Phil but the subtle spread of pink across his face told everyone otherwise. The Techno you grew to love the more and more he let you it.

He began to get a lot more playful with you as you friendship grew. When you moved in with him out in the snow it only increased drastically. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for the both of you to end up in this position or something similar to it (like the time he pinned you down during training), but he would always stop before things got too intimate and while it hurt, you’ve grown to accept it. You were glad to be his friend, his companion. You would take his friendship over not knowing him at all any time of the day.

You waited for him to pull back. To stand up and dust off his clothes, offering you his hand to pull you up with him and continue that night like normal. But he stayed, his dark, dull eyes staying down at you with a shine you’ve never seen up close before.

Techno didn’t know what to do either. He didn’t know what was prompted him to stay in this position, the sudden confidence that pushed him to keep his hand on your face, his lips so close to yours.  Maybe it was the voices in his head, annoyed with the constant stares and thoughts of adoration when you rode Raven around in the snow, your cape flowing beautifully behind you, face showing nothing but pure joy. They were relentless, calling him out on every emotion he was feeling because of you.

He wanted to move for your sake, he was the one on top of you in the first place, pinning you down. You were probably being polite not shoving him off of you, even if you’ve never done it before, he just always pulled away before you could. But he couldn’t, his muscles stiff and unable to move.

A small part of his brain told him you wanted this too, but he ignored it for his own sanity.

“Techno-” you whispered but before you could continue, the hybrid immediately took the single word as a protest, finally letting go of your hands but keeping his body close.

“Shit I’m sorry that- that was probably a bit much.”

You giggled softly, “No- uh, it was fine tech, no worries,”

He looked down at your bright smile glowing in his face.

“You’re really beautiful Y/n,” he whispered, letting the rough pads of his fingers trail down the side of your face, blushing when you nudged them with your cheek, accepting the comfort.

“You think so?” you whispered back, looking up at him with doe eyes.

“I-” he started, his breath hot against the tip of your nose as he glanced down to your lips, quickly looking back into your eyes. Why weren’t you moving? Why weren’t you cringing, laughing at the thought of ever kissing him?

“You- Do you want this.” you whispered, letting his thumb pull down at your bottom lip, watching as the plush skin softly bounced back.

He nodded, shivering when you tangled your fingers into his pick curls, pulling his face down and nudging your nose against his. He closed his eyes, a small, cute snort coming from the back of his throat at the affection.

“Then what are you waiting for?”

“FUCK!”

You jumped at the sudden curse, Techno falling off of you and on to the floor besides the couch. Before you could process what just happened, the curse sounded again followed by a crash, both of your senses on high alert when you realised it was Phil’s voice coming from the kitchen. You rushed to grab your weapons from nearby, quickly pulling yourself together on the fact that your friend was in trouble.

You both ran as fast as you could, Techno in front of you with his sword drawn while you were behind loading your cross bow with an arrow. He barged into the kitchen, holding his blade in the air, ready to attack but all he was met with was a pair of wings slapping him in the face.

You dove under the large feathers, bumping the winged man to alert him of your presence.

“Oh... hey guys!” He smiled, taking out something from his ears and resting them on the kitchen counter. He sent a pointed look to the weapons in your hands, crossing his arms over his chest in confusion, “Why the weapons?”

“Are you alright?” Techno said, rubbing his nose from the hit.

“We heard you scream, thought you were in trouble.”

Phil chuckled nervously, “Sorry, my bad,” he turned around to face the both of you, “I just dropped a plate.”

You and Techno let out an audible sigh, dropping your weapons to the floor with a clank. You didn’t know how many times your heart could deal with the sudden bursts of adrenaline. Walking up to Techno, you took his hand away from his face, inspecting the soft red mark across his face from the whip of feathers. No matter how small the attack, you always made sure to check up on him, even when he didn’t need it.

But with your delicate touch came memories of the events that just happened

“Were- were you here the entire time?” Techno said hesitantly, looking up at his father with worried eyes. You took in his words, immediately pulling away from the hybrid, ignoring his small noise of protest.

“Yes, but i put in some ear plugs,” he pointed to them on the counter.

“Oh!” you piped in, “That’s- That’s good.”

“Was there something I missed?” he crossed his arms over his chest, looking at the both of you curiously.

“Nothing!” You both shouted at the same time, chuckling nervously.

“Okay?” Phil dragged out, pointing back to the sink, “Well, I’ll just-”

“Yeah! You- uh, get to that phil,” you began walking backwards, bounced into the edge of the counter. You played off the pain with a quick thumbs up and walking quickly out of the kitchen, mumbling curses under your breath.

“Are they alright mate?” Phil asked his son who seemed to be lost in his own world, staring at the spot you were once in, “Techno?”

“I- what?” He shook his head, “Uh, yeah- they’re,” he let out a small sigh, letting  his hand pass over his face, “Yeah, they’re fine.”

“Are you alright?”

Techno didn’t respond for a while, stuck in his own thought. Phil turned to his son, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “Tech?”

“I think-” He let out a shaky breath, “I think I love them.”
