so today i was in the mw oc server talking abt some stuff i noticed about jawbone (+ some other theory stuff as well!!)

so first of all. two kind of obvious details:

he is green (“yeah no shit sherlock” i hear u thinking. trust me there is a reason why im pointing it out)

his pupils are triangular. nobody else in the show so far has had triangular pupils. (well. i mean commander tezzoree’s eye has a triangular pupil but she hasnt made an appearance in any episodes yet and i doubt the two characters are connected)

just making this point known for now. we will hold this thought for later in the post.

another thing: so in the ref sheet of him posted to the mw tumblr back in september i believe(?), his name is written as “jawbone (a.k.a. scythelord)”

you know where a character by the name of “scythelord” has shown up already?

on a wanted poster, thats where!! he has a bounty on his head!!!

which means that tyneen and her crew are probably after him, which probably explains why they’re at the thicc chicc casino. (how do i know jawbone is there? because ricket is there, which i know because he is shown interacting with both shrike and tyneen, who we know are both there)

i did a whole bunch of examining colors today in light of this, actually!!! quick fun fact for those unaware: RGB and CMYK invert into each other.

and then after i made that image i started sorting things into what colors they are. (white and black have been omitted from the screenshots simply because there doesnt seem to be any significant things tied to them)

obviously this list is probably incomplete and i will continue to add to it, of course.

Oh boy. Ohhhh boy. I've had this ask in my inbox for a good bit, because I wanted to take some time to formulate my reply

So, for you all, I'm going to go into detail as to why I don't like not only the ancient cities, but the entire deep dark as it exists now in Minecraft. Rant under the cut for your sakes, but the TL;DR is that the way that the deep dark, ancient cities, and the Warden have been implemented into Minecraft (especially on Bedrock) is unfair and not fun

Now, as a concept, I think the deep dark is fucking awesome. It's absolutely GORGEOUS and I love the idea of something existing in the caves deeper down than we were originally allowed to see (below y=0). However, there are some key components that make it an absolute nightmare to play in, and not in the fun way. We'll tackle them bit by bit, getting more specific as we go on.

First, the deep dark itself. Now, largely, there are no problems with the general deep dark: it looks cool and is implemented pretty well. However, there is one core problem, and that is the fact that sculk shriekers—which are used to spawn the Warden—are in there, regardless of whether or not there is an Ancient City.

We'll get to the Warden in much more detail later, but here's the main takeaway: in Ancient Cities, you know what you're getting into. You know that you are taking a massive risk (spawning the Warden) for massive reward (the loot in the chests). In regular deep dark, you're not really supposed to expect that. It's just another cave, but there's sculk in it. Why would you make it so that one could accidentally spawn a boss that is more powerful than any other boss while just casually mining? I have heard countless stories of people spawning the Warden on accident by just strip mining, and that's just ridiculous to me. And, if we want to get into the lore, it makes even less sense. What is the Warden guarding in just the regular deep dark caves?

I don't even think it'd be a hard problem to solve, either. Just make the shriekers in regular deep dark not spawn the Warden, like what happens when you break a shrieker and place it down again. This shouldn't be a problem.

Next, the Ancient Cities. So, we've established that you know what you're getting into when you go into an Ancient City, but do you really? Because the thing is is that there was an update to Minecraft Bedrock(though this also applies to Java as you'll see) recently that says, "Increased Sculk Shrieker and Sculk Sensor generation rates in Deep Dark and Ancient Cities to better match Java Edition."

And now, because of that update, Ancient Cities are no longer fun to go through, at least in my opinion. Before the update, my friends and I used to go through them all the time, and we had fun sneakily getting the loot while tactically traveling and wooling off/breaking shriekers. However, now it's nearly impossible to go through them without setting off a shrieker, no matter how careful you are. Sculk shriekers can now be embedded in walls, or buried completely underground where you can't see them, like this youtuber saw:

There is no strategy to counteract this. It is impossible to detect shriekers buried under the ground like that without activating them. You could wool off everything else in the area and think you're safe only to open a chest and set off a shrieker underground, which has happened to me personally countless times. Not only does that make going through these unfair, but that also by extension makes them not fun, as there's a chance that you could get fucked no matter what you do. There's no element of strategy like this.

This was especially a problem in Minecraft Bedrock before the recent update on October 4th. Before then, you could actually set off multiple shriekers at the same time and instantly spawn a Warden. This happened to a friend (Thes) and I a couple of days ago while we were going through an Ancient City: despite our warnings levels both only being at one (and it requiring 4 to spawn a Warden), we instantly spawned a Warden after setting off one other shrieker. We survived, thankfully, but we shouldn't have had that scare in the first place. Shriekers are supposed to have a 10 second cooldown before one can go off again, but somehow, we were able to set off multiple at the same time. It wasn't even addressed in the changelog (I had to learn through my own testing), but the fact that this was ever a problem is ridiculous, given how dangerous the Warden is.

Which. Speaking of. Let's end this off by talking about the Warden.

Now, as a concept, I think the Warden is cool. I like the idea of having this incredibly powerful mob that relies only on hearing to guard the Ancient Cities in the Deep Dark. However, the way that the Warden was actually implemented is abysmal in my opinion.

Firstly, there's the fact that the Warden really doesn't just rely on hearing. In the initial trailer for the Warden, you can see the player divert the Warden away using snowballs at around 1:17 in the video. The Warden easily tracks that sound and follows it, not even caring about the player as it sneaks past.

That's not how it works now. Using snowballs is virtually useless, because if you're close enough to do that, then the Warden will just automatically track you down and kill you via either sniffing or just...sensing you're nearby. In that same video that has the screenshots from earlier, you can see the player try to divert the Warden using snowballs like you're supposedly supposed to do, and it doesn't work. The player even flies a great distance away, and the Warden still locks onto them. You can see this from 6:45 to 7:48 in the video.

It's strange to me that they made the Ancient Cities out to be this place that requires so much stealth, and yet, their supposedly blind mob that should only rely on hearing can just sniff you out from 100 blocks away and kill you in 1-2 hits. It seems to contradict the whole idea of the Ancient City in my opinion.

And, let's say you want to kill the Warden. You want to go through the whole ordeal of trying to kill this boss that has more health than the Ender Dragon and the Wither (on Java). What do you get for that? You get a single sculk catalyst and 5 XP. Basically nothing for an achievement like that. I think you should get a reward for something that big, even if it was just a decorative Warden head or something. Give something to those players that go above and beyond.

This all isn't even getting into how the Deep Dark as a whole is an accessibility nightmare, at least in the case of Minecraft Bedrock. There are no in-game subtitles on that version, which is pretty shitty especially when you consider them adding an entire sound-based part of the game that you really can't avoid, since caving is practically essential to casual Minecraft.

And, really, that's the thing. The way that the Deep Dark has been implemented flies in the face of casual Minecraft players. With the Warden being able to spawn anywhere in the deep dark, and the deep dark being able to be in any cave below "low erosion areas" (mountains, plateaus, etc. Which are pretty common in Minecraft), it makes it so that any casual player could accidentally spawn and get killed by the Warden while just exploring the caves, which is a huge part of Minecraft to a lot of people. At least the other boss mobs are optional.

this is a little baking fic ive been putting together! the idea is that donnie starts out being offended that people in baking videos say macarons are hard and tries to make them with a stand mixer he made himself. he Fails Horrifically. then he goes back to brownies, and is Instantly compelled by the kind of science that baking entails. the thing as a whole is kinda of...it turns into a coping mechanism, for him to say, i have something other than tech, another way for him to be useful, a way to support emotionally as well as physically. hell make muffins when leo seems crabby, hell make bread when mikey has been down, hell make cake when raph's smile is straining, and hell smile the whole time, hell put his weight into kneading that dough, hell put his heart into this. thats why its called that! its kinda like those notes at the beginning of recipes like 'btw youre gonna need a stand mixer and a springform pan for this' but saying 'welcome to baking! pick up your heart and hold it close, and make sure your hands are ready, because while machines can do what we can, whats the point? dont give me that look, youll understand soon enough.'

initially this was going to be a oneshot but it QUICKLY evolved. i havent even finished writing the brownies part and its already about 4k. also leo appeared and made himself Known as he always does, so its a lot of disaster twins so far. i do have some of this one written though, so i can find a snippet! lemme see, uhhh...ok you guys are getting at LEAST two i cant choose. here, this first one is from earlier on, it points out the earlier reasoning/the theming kinda well:

He finally threw his hands in the air after an hour of this, giving a loud ‘UGH!’ and pausing it, setting his work aside. “Fine!” He huffed, stomping over to his blueprints table. “If you’re so insistent that it’s so difficult, I guess I’ll have to prove you wrong!” He’d already been proven wrong so many times that his tech, his projections, his work couldn’t stand up to a challenge. That it would crumble under the grasp of the sharp claws of a demon, or the megaton punch of a battle suit.  He was 15, and he was sore, and he wanted to prove himself.   Well, he’d thank himself later, but for now, he pulled out the blueprints and called, “Shelldon, pull up schematics for commercial stand mixers.” He’d proven he could do better, with Shelldon and with Raph’s eye and his shells.  He could do something as simple as this. 

dont ask me how shelldon is alive i didnt think that hard abt it. just . the robots alive get used to it. this next snippet is later on, and is more on the disaster twins/donnie knowing his family kind of side

Leo leaned back and curled into himself, hand rubbing at the back of his neck, eyes averted. Jeez, he really felt bad, huh? Well, in that sorry, man way and not I’m sorry I’m not good enough way, but still. “But this seems like you’re really getting into, you know? I didn’t wanna criticize you right when you started out. “ Donnie thought, for a moment.  A lot of times, Leo did things because he was projecting.  This was, often, perfectly fine. He rarely did it in a bad way, but in this sort of sense? When he was saying, I didn’t want to criticize you right when you’re starting out? Leo knew Donnie could take criticism.  It’s Leo who can’t.  And Donnie can still remember Raph asking if Leo could really memorize all that medical knowledge, and Mikey asking for Raph instead, and Donnie having to guide him through a lot of the bigger words, getting frustrated now and then.  Or when he started drinking tea, and they all called him an old man, because they expected him to bounce back, to bite back, to be fine with it.  Or when he got his first scarf from April and Donnie asked him why he was still wearing it around 2 days later. (Hypocrite.)  And he wondered why they rarely saw him drinking tea even if the bags dwindled, why those scarves disappeared for a year or two. 

ok i was lying take ONE more snippet. i really like this doc it all came together pretty well even if it isnt quite finished yet/i wrote it at 8-10 pm the night after an all nighter

The whole time, Leo had this smile on, a little childish and fun. Not…not quite as blinding as it had been in the past, or as blinding as it might ever be again, but big and bright and simply excited. Like eating the brownies his brother made by hand was the only thing on his mind.  It settled something worried and loving and warm in a corner of Donnie’s heart, the same something that settled when he made machines and modified security and kept careful watch when he noticed something amiss.  He let it happen, let it settle, let this be warm.  Leo was the one who was sent to tell the others there were brownies, because he was excited and Donnie had a feeling he wouldn’t be able to sit still around them while they cooled for longer than the two minutes he had already been sitting there.  Donnie only chuckled something fond under his breath as he gathered up some small plates. 

my favorite thing about this doc is just. leos so excited the whole time and its this part of him i dont get to discuss NEARLY enough when i write. hes so bouncy the WHOLE time and its genuinely perfect. donnie agrees, too, so it all works out, hehe.

I use the free software shortcut to edit my videos. I hate it & it's very slow which makes my already least favorite part of the video making, editing, even worse (:

I decided to start making videos bc 1) I saw a gap in the youtube market where people who talked about bl either did reactions or short analyses without showing their faces. 2) there were many topics that were easier to tackle in a longer video than a blog post. 3) if I were to be able to make a living off of youtube (which will not happen but wish I had known that then lol) it would solve most of my problems & allow me to combine pretty much all of my interests at once.

my videos ABSOLUTELY get taken down bc of copyright, if you look through my community page I've talked about that many times.

when that happens, I always appeal but most of the time it doesn't work, which means I spent 30+ hours MINIMUM on something that will never see the light of day (: it's in big part why I'm switching to thailand focused content instead of thai series content tbh, it was very heavy on my mental health for a hobby that takes so many hours out of me every week. not worth it.

my favorite kinds of videos to film are definitely my ranking ones or reaction ones bc they demand very little preparation & scripting and are just about me rambling for 2 hours, but my ranking ones take FOREVER to edit so on that part any non scripted video is the worst haha

the time spent on a video really depends, but usually the writing of a video takes me between 3 to 6 hours, the filming takes me 2 hours & the editing takes me a good 20 hours (funny bc I hate editing so much lmaooooo.) but some videos have only taken me 10 hours (short reactions), while others have taken me well above 50 (longer commentary ones.)

hullo wastelesscrafts! i'm starting to get into garment sewing and im super excited at all the possibilties, however . i have realized printing patterns and copyshops get super expensive and am regretting wanting to make all of these commercial patterns 😭 not to mention all the paper waste that comes from cutting out these types of patterns! but im the kind of person that really needs direct instruction before i can be confident in winging it through something, esp with something like sewing... so any advice on making and following patterns without breaking my wallet? (love ur blog btw :D)

Sewing patterns and paper waste

Commercial patterns or print-at-home patterns are one way to go. I can't recommend Freesewing.org enough if you're looking for customisable pre-made patterns.

However, there are alternatives.

Paper sources:

If you're planning on drafting your own patterns, you'll need paper. Let's focus on that first before we discuss pattern drafting.

Actual pattern paper exists and is quite convenient, but not a necessity. A lot of people use things like leftover gift wrapping paper or brown craft paper. Parchment paper's also nice because it's transparent, which allows you to trace pattern sheets without having to damage the original.

Whenever I draft patterns, I just use whatever I've got lying around. I've got patterns drawn on newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, yellowed notepad paper that's been taped together, old print-outs,...

If it's a pattern I plan to reuse a lot, I tend to use thin cardboard. The cardboard is flexible but strong, and is usually only printed on one side. I save up my cereal boxes for this, and tape them together to get a surface that's large enough to draft my pattern. This admittedly is not the most professional way to do it, but it's free, it avoids waste, and it works well.

If you're planning to learn how to draft your own patterns, a good ruler, a measuring tape, and a set of French curves are a good investment.

Once you've drafted your pattern, make a prototype out of cheap fabric first before you cut into your fancy fabric. Old bed sheets and the like are great for this.

Copying garments:

If you've got a piece of clothing you really like, you can duplicate it without the need of buying a new pattern. Practice on garments with a simple construction before you tackle anything fancy: the simpler the garment, the easier it is to copy.

Most clothes consist of separate pieces of fabric that have been cut into a specific shape, then sewn together. The idea is to identify these different pieces of fabric, and to then trace them onto paper (plus seam allowance) to create a sewing pattern.

If you'd like to see tutorials on how to copy an existing garment, check out Instructables, Sew Guide, and Withwendy. I also have two blog posts about copying garments: how to copy and upsize a garment and how to copy a shirt pattern.

Block patterns:

Rather than buying commercial patterns, you could also invest in a good block pattern. A block pattern (or sloper) is a basic pattern made to your measurements that serves as a basic template for pattern drafting. Once you've got a basic bodice, sleeve, pants, and skirts pattern (if you wear them), you can draft pretty much anything by altering these standard patterns.

The Closet Historian has several videos on how to draft feminine bodice block patterns. Freesewing.org also has feminine and masculine block patterns, and both can be customised to your size and body shape. If you're looking for block patterns from a specific era, Archive.org is an amazing resource too.

It can take some time to perfect your block pattern: you have to draft it, make a muslin prototype, try it on, fix any imperfections, adjust your pattern,... It's well worth investing your time in one though. Once you have one that fits you perfectly, you're all set!

Drafting instructions:

My personal favourite way to draft new patterns (if I can't just wing them) is by using drafting instructions: diagrams containing all of the measurements needed to draft a full-scale version of a pattern.

Marlene Mukai is a great resource for patterns like these, and has a wide range of sizes. The website's in Portuguese, but the great thing about patterns like these is that you don't necessarily need to understand the instructions to be able to draft them.

Natron & Soda used to be a good German source back in the day, although their patterns only came in one size. They specialised in alternative fashion. Their site is just a landing page now, but you can still access them through the Wayback Machine.

You'll find plenty of English vintage drafting manuals on Archive.org too.

I rarely buy commercial sewing patterns, but when I do I usually buy magazines containing drafting instructions rather than cut-out patterns. As I'm partial to overly feminine clothes, my personal go-to's are Gosu Rori and Otome no Sewing. The first one's out of print, but the second one's still going: check out Fuwa Fuwa Fashion to get a translated sneak peek.

Libraries:

I've already mentioned Archive.org, but don't underestimate your local library either. Check out their arts and crafts section: you'll probably find a range of books that contain either sewing patterns or instructions on how to draft your own.

Winging it:

Simple designs like the one hour dress can be drawn straight onto your fabric without the need for a pattern, if you know what you're doing. I tend to wing my patterning a lot, but I have experience to fall back on. This method can be quite daunting when you're new to sewing.

Conclusion:

Like with most skills, there's a "proper" way to draft patterns and there's alternatives that might be easier if the proper way just doesn't work for you.

Pattern drafting is kind of like learning how to play an instrument: most people will tell you you need to learn how to read sheet music first, but playing by ear is just as valid. Do what works for you!

"Hello (Y/n)," Corpse said. You were taken aback by how deep his voice was but you didn't show it.

"Hi Corpse! Nice to meet you!" You said happily.

"Okay, how is she not freaking out?" Bretman said, making everyone laugh.

"Uh, (Y/n), do you mind letting me have black? It's cool if not.." Corpse asked gently.

"So skip?" Corpse asked.

Everyone agreed and the voting was skipped.

The next round, I spent with Ethan. He was pretending to be mad at me because Sean said Karl was my best friend.

"What happened to Blue Boi Buddies, huh?!" He exclaimed.

"Neither of our hair is even blue anymore!" You argued back.

You were in reactor with him when Corpse and Poki walked in. He hit the lights and you took it as a sign to double kill. He killed Poki, you killed Ethan, and the two of you made your way to electrical to help fix lights.

You and Corpse went the opposite direction of reactor after the lights were fixed, Karl going with you.

Poki's body was reported. That double kill only left you, Corpse, Sean, Karl and Bretman. You only needed two more kills.

"I still think it's Karl and (Y/n)," Sean said quickly.

"I was with (Y/n) the whole time," Corpse said, "In fact, I think it's you."

"That does make sense. Why so quick to accuse others, Sean?" You ask.

"It's not me!" He yelled.

"I actually agree with Corpse and (Y/n)," Bretman said.

"I was with you!"

We all voted for Sean, him voting for Karl. Sean was ejected.

When you load into spawn, you wait for the kill cool down and kill Bretman, saving Karl.

"Victory" appeared on your screen.

"God damn it!" Sean yelled.

"Good job, (Y/n)," Corpse said lowly.

You smiled, a slight blush on your cheeks, "You too Corpse."

"Their voices go together and they're a fuckin dream team? What have i done...," Felix sighed.

A few more games went by. Most of them you and Corpse spent together, whether you were both crewmates or if one of you was imposter.

You really enjoyed his company and you actually got along with him pretty well.

"(Y/n), before we get serious, I have one question to ask you." Corpse said as both of your characters stopped.

"What's that?" You giggled.

"Do you know Bingus?"

You could hear the smile in his voice, "It's settled, you're my wife now."

This made both of you laugh and your chat go crazy.

Eventually, people had to start leaving. You said your goodbyes to everyone and left the discord call and the game.

You set stream to where it was just your face cam.

"Guys, what should we do now?"

You saw some people asking what time it was for you.

"It's 3 AM right now... I’m not tired though.” You had been streaming for a few hours; You never even noticed how late it got.

People in chat were yelling at you to go to sleep, making you chuckle.

“How about we do a quick QnA, then at 3:30 I go to bed. Deal?”

You watched as the chat filled with questions. They obviously seemed to like the idea.

“‘Who is your best friend? Karl or Ethan?’ Neither, Alex Quackity. Next question.” You answered quickly.

You laughed, “I’d like to clarify that that’s a joke, i love all my friends equally.”

You answered more questions. Some were from new viewers asking basic questions, some were about future streams and videos. 

“‘How do you feel about people shipping you and Corpse?’“ People are already shipping us?” You laughed, “I’ve said before that I’m okay with shipping, as long as the other person is too. I think it’s funny.”

You continued to read chat. “Wait, we’re trending?”

You checked Twitter and “#(your and corpse’s ship name)” was trending in the US.

You laughed as you scrolled through the tag, “Oh this is so funny.”

“Fanart already?! You guys are so talented!”

You read chat, looking for more questions. You saw people telling you that it’s 3:30.

“Okay fine, a deal’s a deal. I hope you all have, or had, a great day and I’ll see you guys later. Depending on what time it is for you, you should also get some sleep. Stay hydrated, love you!” You ended stream.

hiii i really really love the way you write and the themes you touch on in your posts id love to hear if theres any books/media that influenced your writing style + the things you focus on in your analyses !

This is actually really hard for me to pin down I've been racking my brains over this one. I tend to be a little bit of everywhere, just whatever catches my interest at the time. Most of my personal reading is nonfiction within the realm of philosophy/theology + history + english criticism; whatever fiction I do get around to tends to be horror and/or satire. House of Leaves by MZD actually has just about everything that tickles my fancy. Finally read it beginning of 2021 and I truly haven't been the same since. That's definitely a big one.

But to give you an idea here's the pile of books I'm looking at on my desk as I type this is: an anthology of John Wesley's sermons (founder of Methodism), House of Leaves, an anthology of Percy Shelley's poetry + prose, "The Sphinx in the City" essays on urban living + feminism, the communist manifesto, a dissertation on the influence of Hermann Hesse in Japan, "Thank God for the Atom Bomb" essays by a "conservative cultural critic", and how could i forget the 70pgs of the unabomber's manifesto i printed out.

Currently been slowly making my way through "Romanticism and Consciousness" which are essays on the historical/political background influencing Romantic literature. More often than not I tend to look for essays and critical readings of works before I actually do read said work proper. I don't recommend this btw I just never listen to my own advice. But like, this book inspired me to buy the Shelley anthology. And some of the essays in the Shelley anthology analyzing him I actually found online weeks prior and added them to my digital library. I'd rather read them physically, as I tend to highlight my books. I find highlighting + margin notes really help me stay focused otherwise simply Sitting And Reading makes me go a lil nutz unless the book really is that good. I backed an artist's first comic book that had me ensnared recently. Independent comics tend to do a number on me. Yes I'm still a huge homestuck fan. Will be going 8 years strong.

I reread Brave New World late 2020 after, somehow, getting my hands on it in middle school. Comparing the way the protagonist kills himself at the end vs trying to read Huxley's theological pieces, he should've stuck to the racist satire. I'm still gonna try to finish the Perennial Philosophy, though. All this rambling has me realizing the childhood series I grew up on was A Series of Unfortunate Events, so I think I'm starting to notice a trend.

But actually the biggest media type I consume is games I fucking love video games. I think I cried playing Disco Elysium. I wish more games understood its medium as well as DE. I think that's really what you have to find is stuff that understands its medium. Ososan is a show that is really fucking good at being a tv show, and I think it helps because it doesn't necessarily draw from anything prior because it's such a different beast from osokun (the ososan manga actually came out like a few months after it aired I learned recently).

I don't watch many movies or shows, and the ones I do make me really wanna read the original source material just so I could compare (A Clockwork Orange, American Psycho). I just last watched the Belladonna of Sadness and I think that's an animated movie that understands it's an animated movie. Why go for realism when you've got watercolors?

My other main criteria for any piece of work is that it makes me want to pick up smoking. I don't think I could explain this further if you asked.

Aside from. Any of whatever I just said. My writing background is largely academic with some journalistic experience. It makes media analysis really easy. It also helps that there's technically no wrong answer when it comes to critical readings, just like any school essay you just have to be able to back up your claims with evidence and articulate the connections you see. Prose is a new beast that I am attempting to tame but I think 1. You need to have fun with the learning process and I do in fact enjoy learning. This includes a willingness to examine and reexamine your own words even after you're done working on a piece and analyzing what you can/need to improve on. 2. I really enjoy being able to construct a sentence in a million different ways and I will always have a tab open for the Merriam-Webster dictionary-thesaurus while writing ANYTHING. 3. Did I mention having fun? I really have fun writing I love writing as a hobbyist. 4. Consume and question everything in equal measure. This will eventually produce something.

These are a few of my tips that I’ve picked up:

- Anything that can be dragged-dropped (screenshot of text, a digital drawing, etc.) most probably requires a description. 

- Some images may have alt text already included within them

- Put image descriptions FIRST, don’t hide them under text or below a readmore, as that makes it harder for someone who is blind/has low vision to access them

- I’ve found it useful to download a screen reader just to get an idea of how I should create IDs, I use NVDA which is entirely free and pretty easy to control (Insert + Q turns it off -- I spent thirty minutes trying to figure that out so don’t make my mistake) https://www.nvaccess.org/download/

- Colors should be described, but don’t make them the focus of your description. Instead, I use what uxdesign describes as Object - Action - Context for the most part. (Example: A drawing of Aang running with Katara in a grassy field: Aang and Katara = objects, Action = running together, in a grassy field = context) but I usually add more detail

-Make sure to add the username if its a screenshot of a social media post, and always look for an artist’s signature in a drawing!

-  When talking about race and/or skin color, make sure that if you describe one character’s skin color/race, mention it for the other character as well. If one character appears to be white, don’t treat that as the default and only describe the non-white character’s skin color/race. Example: “Ezran and Rayla are standing together. Ezran has light brown skin and freckles, Rayla has pale skin.” (these are Dragon Prince characters bc there are no white people in atla for an example)

- If you make IDs for visual content, always remember that Deaf/HoH people might need audio IDs. sometimes when describing a video, I do a combination, so I describe both the sounds and visuals simultaneously. 

- To make it easy for someone using a screen reader to understand when an ID starts/ends, I always use brackets, so for example:

[Image ID: A colorless digital drawing of Suki over a pale green background...../.End ID] (obviously I would add more info in between)

- If there are symbols which indicate emotion or a sound effect, for example if there was a drawing where a character had dots and lines around their face indicating that they were seeing spots/were dizzy, then make sure to include them in your description to provide context. For example:

[Image ID: .....Around Sokka’s head, there are several fuzzy dots indicating that he is dizzy..../.End ID]

- Doing image descriptions is a learning process, so don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t perfect at it when you start out, just always try to improve at it

I would agree with the other person who said that j+p had a thing going on but Paul was more detached from it than John was. In my own analysis (all for fun of course) I would think that that’s how it went but Paul had more internalized homophobia than John did and wanted to detach himself as a way of protecting soemthing about himself. John didn’t have those hang ups and got annoyed/hurt by Paul because of it. A lot of Paul’s songs that could be about/to John all sound steeped in regret and longing because he regretted how he handled things and because he was too late to fix it.

This is just me and it’s all for fun but what do you think?

Id probably agree that John was more comfortable with his sexuality in later life then Paul was (assuming Paul is bi, and I think its important to note that im only referring to him as bi here hypothetically and only for speculative purposes; its okay to speculate, but also he identifies as straight and I think it is always crucial that we respect that <3) (<<< not having a go at anyone there btw, just wanted to make a quick note of it y'know).

Johns a bit of dilemma, because it seems he was simultaneously secure in his position as an outsider and a misfit, but also deeply, deeply insecure of it. I think there was always a form of alienation underpinning John throughout his entire lifetime (but maybe thats just projection lol). Whereas Paul I feel like didn't experience the same sort of alienation John did - im sure Paul felt a bit unique and stuff y'know, and im not saying he has no insecurities, but with Paul (presumably) being a much more stable, headstrong and confident person (because he appears to have had a more loving and stable upbringing) I think he's always sort of known he can fit in with people; always been a bit more of an extrovert maybe (?).

I think possibly another thing to note is that Paul did come from a more working-class background then John, and so I think that that is largely why he has always had this compulsion to maintain some of that 'average bloke' spirit in him - which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing; like I think its great that Paul tried to ensure his kids didnt grow up spoilt and materialistic etc. But I guess having that security of always having been a relatively normal person, as well as having this desire to remain a bit of an ‘average joe’ (again, obviously Paul is very special, but I just mean normal in the sense that he's appears to have always been friendly and likeable and able to relate to other people etc.) maybe makes coming to terms with any homosexual urges more difficult. Paul appears to be comfortable with his sexuality (eg. When Howard Stern asked him something like "have you had any gay experiences?", Paul didn't react all, "ewwwww no!!!!" instead he just reacts like a regular fuckin' human being, saying something like, "I haven't actually, no"). But I suppose my point might be more about if Paul does have internalised homophobia, it might not be to the extent that he feels he has to portray himself as this hyper-masculine caricature or anything, but more so that he wouldn't have the confidence to step so far out of the social norms as to enter a gay relationship. Like I think Paul kind of likes having this balance between being a very unique individual, but also being a very normal, average bloke y'know.

John on the other hand, I get the sense he was sort of more okay with his sexuality because he already understood that he doesn't fit in. Like I think at some point he realised there is this alienation that is just never gonna leave him, so he might as well sort of embrace those eccentricities rather then fight them (but that doesn’t mean I think he became a confident person or anything; people can embrace their eccentric nature outwardly but still have a deep self-loathing within them).

And so if they did have a casual fling and John wanted more, it does feel like it would make sense for Paul to want to keep it casual. He's okay with his sexuality to the extent that he doesn't overreact if someone questions it, he's supportive of gay people and he's not even concerned about platonically kissing another man (see the video of him giving Elton John a friendly kiss) - and I think, whether he's straight or bi, its great that he's comfortable with all of this - but if he had had a further gay experience with John, I think he wouldn't have taken it into a full-fledged relationship, because I think he wanted a wife and kids, because he does enjoy conventionality to a large extent. Whereas John I think wasn't really looking for a wife and kids and stuff (I mean he already had Cyn and Jules, and it doesn't seem like he was that interested in living a particularly domestic lifestyle y'know).

PS what songs are you thinking about with the last part? Ive got a few ideas of the type I think you're on about, but it might make it easier for me to address and analyse them directly <3
