So I just found out that arin apparently switches sides (I'm not that far into dr yet)???

Do you think he and harumi would have gotten along if teen harumi and arin met?

WELL

Listen, fellas, as much as I find the idea of ~evil Arin~ as interesting as anyone else...THAT'S...not really what's happening??? (So far, anyway)

Arin's morals haven't suddenly changed, nor have his goals—his main priority has always been finding his parents, and at first, becoming a ninja seemed like the best way to do that—not only traveling around with Lloyd, meeting new people, getting the chance to investigate different people/places for leads...but also getting to live out a dream of his.

The issue is, he's hasn't been getting any closer to achieving that fantasy of a dream...nor was he getting any closer to achieving his main goal of finding his parents. And that's where his frustrations with Lloyd began to fester, and why he now sees so much appeal in Ras right now– his techniques have yielded results in Arin being a 'better' Ninja, and Ras (potentially) has the information Arin's been desperately looking for.

...but I sincerely doubt Arin is ever going to fully defect, even if as temporarily as we all know it would be were it to happen.

(This could obviously change if Ras lets slip to Arin what his ACTUAL GOALS/PLANS ARE, and Arin is like 'oh wait maybe he does have a point here', but again, right now Arin's just with Ras for the information/furthering his own personal interests, not in the name of conquest for something inherently 'bad')

(...and I mean, everyone was raving for 'Evil!Jay before we even got the 'how that even happens'...and look what happened)

ANYWAY, all that being said, I do see the parallels between Arin and Harumi- both feel like they're losing/lost their parents because of the actions of the ninja, felt betrayed by heroes they once looked up to, see the sympathies within the people the Ninja are supposed to be opposing, and actively move to support that opposing side instead as it better suits their interests.

...But I don't think Arin actually hates any of the Ninja (yet?), nor is going to align with Ras' plight given all the bad actions he KNOWS Ras has done in past, and to him specifically; he's just mostly frustrated and disappointed with their priorities. And unlike Harumi, I doubt he's going to murder anyone over it :V

Harumi would definitely be sympathetic to him, but if Arin knew the full extent of her thoughts he'd be like O-O;

Harumi: Aren't you tired of being nice??? Don't you wanna go apeshit??

Arin: N-No? ;w;

(also also I totally forgot to address if/when he does Shatterspin; should that occur then yeah he might be an evil!goner for a little while, but that's moreso a side effect than a wholly conscious choice, especially if the theory that he's already sort of started doing it holds any weight—he's knows its not good and he's not actively trying to do it, but he's sliding down that slope anyway and what happens when it's too late to turn back???)

Modern college Arataki Itto x Y/n with a fistful of cult bullshit and the power of friendship idea ramble

Ok so basically this fic was inspired by me testing character.ai and also the song Christmas Kids by ROAR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6m0ymy2oFk

Y/N is doing some sort of arts and design-related degree and Itto's doing something sports idk. Apparently, Uni and college are different but idk I barely know what tf I'm doing at uni anyway.

So basically the fic will start out normal as a slow burn wholesome romance between Y/N and Arataki Itto in a modern college setting. Y/N enters college and initially, they struggle a bit socially because they've not used to being around so many people. They become friendly with Amber first, a girl they were partnered with for a group project. Amber's friendliness and positive reputation helps Y/N come out of their shell for a bit. The fic will first flesh out Y/N's journey into befriending some of the Genshin characters for like the first few chapters. It's not until they meet Itto that they really come out of their shell.

Itto, being an outgoing and loud idiot(affectionate) he is, is popular amongst his peers, and a pain for his professors. He and Y/N are assigned together for a different group project. Y/N is not used to his energy and he feels like Y/N dislikes him because of how quiet they are to him compared to the other people at college. For a while, there's tension between them until Itto talks to Shinobu about it and she, being the more mature in the Arataki gang, tells him to just ask them if they did something wrong and let them know that they don't mean any harm(or something). He does so and eventually they get over the misunderstanding and become friendlier with each other. Because of Y/N struggling a bit socially, Itto helps them to get out of their shell and participate in group activities or something.

Itto ends up being the first to fall in love with them as he finally sees them fully comfortable at college and being very happy around people. Y/N falls not too long after for Itto because of his kindness and himboness(oh wow this is getting sappy ngl). So then the slow burn goes on and blah blah blah tbh I'll edit this part later because I want to get to the juicy cult part.

So then during this pining section of the fic, it slowly hints that somethings going on with Y/n behind the scenes. like during one section where Itto and Y/n are on a bus, as they watch the streets, they suddenly gasp and duck below the window, and Itto's like you good?? And they try to play it off as them seeing an ex(which they aren't totally wrong about👀). And in another situation, Itto is invited to stay at Y/N's house for something(NO NAUGHTY TIMES HERE) and he finds out that they're living with an aunt. He doesn't pry into their family situation but it concerns him and makes him think about how they were originally like at the start of the college trimester.

Ever since they saw HIM during that bus ride, Y/N has been feeling like someones watching them, and they become a lot more cautious around Uni. This concerns their friends because they haven't seen them like this in a long while. They ask them what's wrong but they insist that nothing is wrong. That is until they get attacked while walking late after uni ends. Someone attempts to drag Y/N away until their friends stop the man and call the police, he gets away though and Y/N confesses that they've been hiding some shit on their past.

During the weekend, Y/N explains to their friends that they used to be part of a cult called... idk Archons disciples for now. The AD is a cult centered around a man called... idk maybe he could be an oc idk well call him the Leader. As a child of the AD, the cult had a lot of control and connections politically. The ADs leader is believed to be an Archon who was wrongly taken from his role(bullshit entirely. Also thats the basic idea for now, his motivations might be changed later). Oh, and he also has multiple wives and kids, both mistreated. Y/N the youngest of their siblings at the time was chosen to be the Leaders's main bride, but their older siblings used the little amount of money they had to buy Y/N a bus ticket away form the cult, and directions to their aunts house, who too had escaped the cult. But because of the bus incident, they know they and their aunt are in danger but they have little power to protect themselves.

After all this, their friends promise to protect them and their aunt, especially Itto. After that, they become a lot more protective of them and guard them wherever they go.

But Uh Oh they fail(somehow idk haven't planned that yet)! and Y/N is taken back to the cult. As soon as this happens they jump into action to try and save Y/N. They can't trust the police because the cult has connections to them. So Y/Ns friends separate into different groups to tackle the problem at different angles.

So characters like Heizou would be the one researching and digging up any information surrounding the AD. Itto and maybe Beidou would the the ones 100% to kick AD ass, and Gorou and Kokomi would be making plans on what to do. Idk much about the other characters yet BUT if anyone has any suggestion for the characters not yet mentioned in the protecc Y/N squad, please put in any suggestions.

Thats about if for now, I need to get back to uni stuff, but I'll be back to edit this and add more stuff :D

I'm sorry that a lot of unpleasant things actually happen to you (reupload, yt suspension, rude demand, etc) :((. I'm so late knowing about this because i forgot to activate my notif about you :(. Anyway, i saw your pinned comment on WaR #6 about you not liking someone on v route, and deleting videos about them. May i know who that chara is? I haven't play v route yet, and i'm still trying to gather

Hi! Thank you for watching it! It’s alright, thank you for your concern as well ^^ Can’t help it since it’s the internet, many kinds of people will be there, I just have to learn how to deal with it hahaha;;;

About that character, it’s non other than the teal haired man himself. Yup, and this is coming from a person who has him as favorite character before, weird how the route makes me dislike him other than liking him more. Please note my opinion may be a bit biased, so sorry for that in advance ^^;

[SPOILER WARNING FOR ANOTHER ROUTE] also if you are someone who is easily triggered and can’t take others opinion with chill head I suggest you don’t read it

I like him because I thought wow he was such a loyal man, even after Rika hurt him, leave him for Mint Eye; he was still there for her even died for her. But no? It was later revealed in Day 7 that he was just obsessed with her and never really love her. I was just as heartbroken as Rika when I read that (I had someone tell me the same thing in my sh*tty relationship years ago, so I know how it hurts). I started to feel pity for her; Rika has told about her past, about her parents, about how people never love her because she was weird and different, and when she finally thought she found someone who really love her, turns out it was just a lie. I feel deceived as well lol, so who the hell is the man I know in casual and deep route. There’s also a VN mode where he had Rika “posed“ for his weird “photo collections” but it was never revealed in detail of what that is.

It’s just goes worse after that, I do find it weird why he suddenly cares so much about mc since day 1 and then just goes like “I found a new love and change!“, really? Compared how long you’ve been with Rika, you don’t even know her for a week yet. Also it’s probably just me but all the option nearing the final day seems to diss people with mental sickness a lot. In one of the VN where Yoosung ask mc if Rika and Ray (Saeran) can still be cured, mc had only these two option.

…just wth is this option? It’s basically saying people with mental sickness and doesn’t have the initiative to cure themselves have no place anymore in the world and we should just leave them or better drive them to corner until they do suicide. Yes, it really does happen, both Rika and Ray killed themselves. I’m seriously disappointed with the writing. Oh well it’s an otome game, what can I expect; but I never was disappointed so much like I had here.

Also the inconsistency with mc’s option, in chat the options basically dissing Rika and provoking RFA members to leave Rika, but when Rika calls us, there’s an option to be kind to her? lmao what is this? am I playing two faced woman right now? It’s seriously an uncomfortable experience for me, like I said in my comment before I really wish I never read this route. It’s like we basically tearing RFA itself, and should probably change the name to VFA by the end lol.

And do I need to talk about the ending? So it’s basically him be like “I don’t regret what happened to her, I found a new love, let’s build a new house and live together. Also no need to tell Saeyoung that the Mint Eye hacker who killed himself is no other than his own twin brother. I’m guilt free.“

So there, my honest opinion, but it’s more like a rant lol. The only good thing I enjoy from the route is I can get a glimpse of Jumin’s childhood, also new CGs of him. Oh! and there’s a chatroom where you can chat with Vanderwood a bit, he even sends you a selfie if you choose the right option ^^

Buy it if you want to see Rika suffer like the majority of the fandom and flirt with V. But if you are a fan of Choi brothers be prepared for the feels. Hope that can help you decide if you want to buy the route or not, sorry if there’s anything I said that might offend you, it’s just my opinion XD Have a nice day as well! :)
