Hello, friends!

I figured it was about time I made an actual blog intro of my own since I forgot to make one when I started this blog last year. Better late than never, lmao!

My name is Anna/Anya but you can call me Mystic, Ducky, or just Anya on this blog! My personal nickname is Ani and I adore it (:

I am an Asexual woman (my pronouns are she/her!) and I'm also personally an atheist who puts my faith in the spirits of Mother Nature, though I respect all other religions equally!

I'm Gen Z and Latina (Brazilian). I was raised bilingual (Brazilian Portuguese + English) and I love learning languages - currently, I'm working on learning French and Spanish! Career-wise I am studying in college to become a character designer and hopefully animator, as I want to pursue a career as an artist and writer! I also wish to have my WIPs published in the near future (:

My favorite shows are Critical Role, Game of Thrones, Castlevania, The Legend of Vox Machina (animated series), Star Wars, Voltron, The Dragon Prince, Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, and DC Comics content, as well as many more lmao. I love watching movies and series!

I am a younger sister 💖

My hair is short and curly (pixie style, similar to the haircut Rapunzel has at the end of the Tangled movie!)

I adore listening to music, especially songs that can inspire me to write my WIPs! Playlists are a huge part of my writing process and something I really enjoy making.

I'm currently rereading Shadow and Bone (+ Six of Crows) and I am always looking for more good dark fantasy/historical fantasy books to read so book recs are always welcome! I also am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series and Trials of Apollo (by Rick Riordan), though I'm usually more of a gritty/dark fantasy fan (like Game of Thrones)!

I have three dogs and two cats!😺🐶

I know how to play the piano, though I haven't done that in a while because things have been chaotic for me, but I'd like to start playing regularly again in my winter vacation.

I have worn glasses since I was 5 years old and have terrible eyesight without them (and some days with them, lol, so bear with me).

My friends and I are doing a DnD campaign every Sunday, where I play as a half-elf rogue named Aeryn (he/him). I'm adoring this adventure so far, it's so fun!!!

I love to bake and am rather good at it, but am a painfully average cook lmao (some specific recipes I make are actually rlly good, but it depends a lot on my mood and the 'alignment of the stars' lol)

I want to learn how to knit/crochet! 🧶

About my Writing!🏹⌛

I write fictional works mostly in the genre of fantasy (high fantasy/epic fantasy/dark fantasy/historical fantasy/urban fantasy, etc. You name it!) and science fiction (space opera/cyberpunk/superhero, etc).

My works usually revolve around themes such as epic quests, secrets, adventure, rebels fighting an oppressive system, sibling bonds, acceptance/respect, outcasts, and much, much more! I love fluff and whump equally, and though my stories tend to focus on serious topics (or at least darker/heavier themes) within a fantasy/sci-fi setting, I like to have a good bit of humor, lighthearted fun, and comedy to my stories to lighten up the mood!

Writing Update Dec. 28th, 2022

i once again forgot to do this for a few weeks BUT this time it was good reason (i started a new wip and got very excited about it) Progress made: 11.3k words drafted, ~1.4k words of brainstorming WIPs worked on: Goddess-Touched [total wc: 31.1k], Whispers [total wc: 10k], [REDACTED] [total wc: 500] Writing streak: 497 days Current chapter/POV: Starting chapter 3 of Whispers, Lorelei POV!

Favorite line(s) (Whispers, Marika POV) (Content Warning: vivid description of violence):

He starts to struggle when I yank the knife back out, shoving to try and escape, tears in his eyes and a clear change in the hanging of his pants when I let him stumble away.

Of course, like so many before him, he bites his sleeve, like he thinks shouting for help would lessen his odds.

Unfortunately for him, it is a straight shot down the hall to the staircase, and I have done this before.

I catch the arm he throws out for balance as he bites back his tears, twist it behind his back and wrestle him further towards the drop.

“Beg.”

I shake him, drag him forward again.

“Beg me to stop, and maybe I will.”

What I'm looking forward to next:

Am I allowed to say the entire rest of the book? No, you know what, I make the rules. I'm looking forward to the entire rest of the book.

Notes/Thoughts:

I have never been more happy that I switched WIPs, even if I don't end up following Whispers all the way to the end - I hadn't realized just how badly I needed a break from Millennium Saga until I literally took maybe two days to write the 5k+ words of Whispers Chapter One. You know, at the same time I was struggling to get the probably-3k Nimbus chapter in GT to even get going.

Anyways, I'm having fun writing characters that don't give two shits about morality or the state of the world, only that they're in a bad situation and they will make that everyone else's problem as well as their own. I've had this story in my head for almost as long as I had FB and ES in there, and though it's gone through almost as many changes as they did, it's also never been a story about good people doing good things.

So, uh, yeah. If you haven't seen it already, the comic sans WIP intro is here, and I'll be making a proper intro for it next week I think!

To Win A Prince - reintroduction

So?

So what?

So why are you doing all of this? Traveling around the continent, doing ridiculous tasks... there’s always a motive for these things. 

Well maybe I don’t have one. 

I find that hard to believe. You had a nice life. No one leaves something like that without a reason. 

No one just... just gives everything up for nothing. 

... There is a reason. Some call it a bad one. 

And it is?

Love. I guess.

Summary: 

After receiving three ridiculous tasks from the king, ex-Knight Aurelius Lijne embarks out on a journey to accomplish them so that they can finally marry their best friend, the crown prince, in peace.

Along the way, they’re saddled with people from all forms of life--from the bard who’s only here for his finals to the elf who might be a spy but is definitely a convict and fugitive to the Fae who’s spent more years among cowboys than their own kind.

Then again, what did Aurelius expect, when one of their tasks involved stealing the Dark Lord’s shoes of all things?
