Requests (5/23/2021)

Hi lovelies! I’ve been getting so many requests & I’m working hard to get all of them in the queue. Thanks for sending them my way! I’m writing to let you know that the queue is now full until the end of June. I was able to get every requests from my May 8th post in there except for a few. Requests from May 8th for captions featuring Katy Perry, Jenna Fischer, Marisol Nichols, Addison Rae, Ariana Grande, Erin Kellyman, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Jhene Aiko, & Kirstin Maldonado will be posted in early July.

But there have been an absolute ton of requests since then too, yay! So I’m listing all the requests that I haven’t gotten to below. If you made a request but don’t see it below that might be for a few reasons. 1) I’ve written it already and it will be posted in June. 2) It’s one of the requests I posted on May 8th so I won’t talk about it here. 3) I considered it a demand not a request (for example, I received two that said “Anything with,” that wasn’t really a request just telling me to do it. Sorry if this bothers some of you but it is an issue with me so make sure you word your requests AS requests). Either way, thanks for the love, lovelies! :D

Hi I just had an idea for a game you could do. It could be where someone has to say as a boy what they’re like physically in stages. So first stage is hair color for example, second stage could be height, third stage could be body type, etc. An example would be if I was a black hair, short height, thick body type, I would match up with someone like Nicki Minaj. I actually have a game like this mapped out called “Build a Sissy” where you choose age, hair color, and bra size, but it would take a LOT of work to make so I haven’t written it yet. Maybe some day though. :)

So it is not an issue with CGI “enhanced” celebrities but for Cats it is because I do not have a Furry fetish and I get uncomfortable thinking about writing caps for it. But I write caps with “manips” all the time (photoshopped images of celebs) so I’m not ruling out CGI enhanced celebs all together.

You don’t have to be sorry! Like I said, in the future I’d ask that folks limit requests to no more than 3 celebs at a time but you didn’t know that. I’d never said that before. I typed up every celebrity and they’re going to be sprinkled in during June. Hope you like them! :)

I'm the one that asked for the Stephanie Beatriz caption from a whole back, and I absolutely loved how it turned out. Each time you roll out a new caption is like a small thrill to me and I read them right as they're released.

How about instead of removing the captions with Demi in them ,the images of Demi were just replaced with another celeb and if Demi is mentioned by name in the caption then that could be edited  to mention a different celeb. I respect Demi's decision I do but lets not lose some well made captions. Also if you could please make a caption where Amy Adams feminises a fan and raises them as her daughter and Kristen Stewart makes you her submissive wife that would be appreciated. I'm a fan of them.

So about the Demi Lovato captions: I understand your feelings but I’m still going to delete the original captions. Because of how my captions are made I can’t just go back in & swap out an image or edit the text, I have to remake it from the ground up. I am hoping to do that with some (maybe all) of the Demi Lovato captions & re-publish them, but I’m still going to delete the originals.

I can do the Kristen Stewart one for sure and I’ll TRY to do the Amy Adams one I just am not 100% sure I can find a pic for that but we’ll see. :)

About the hiatus: I don’t know when it’s going to be. I want to TRY to make it to at least July 18th because I have a specific game in mind I want to post for 5 years of Celebrity TG Captions games, but after that I have no idea. I’ve been writing caps for a longer stretch of time since normal since I’ve switched to a part-time blog so I might burn out at any second but for right now I’ve still got some juice.

I don't want to be insensitive because my country is doing very bad with corona right now too but are people in the Netherlands surprised that they have a bad like this? I have dutch friends and I saw them on instagram going to night clubs, not wearing masks, eating out with people without protection (other than sanitizer).Do you think that your government should have taken measures before? I was always curious why they acted basically oblivius to everything seeing how other countries were

Oh no! Don’t hesitate to ask me anything! I can understand Europe (or the rest of the world?) is watching our numbers and go: ?????

I think our government did good during the first wave. We never had a lockdown like a lot of the other European countries had. We had something our Prime Minister called an ‘Intellegent lockdown’. So all shops/restaurants/bars etc were closed and public transport was for those that had vital jobs (hospital/bus driver the stuff that was still going). We were allowed to walk (in our own town) do groceries etc. And the numbers (just like the rest of europe) went down. Our ICU patients went down. So the measurements were less strict after a period of time. So during the summer everything was open again (expect theatre and stadium they had stricter measurements like the rest of Europe as well). My job stopped and I sat home for a month and a half like a lot of Dutch people/people around the world.

But with the winter coming slowly our number went up and up. The on September 18 our prime minister came with new measurements in 6 big cities that had a lot of cases per day. Then 10 days (sep 28) later (with 3k cases per day now) they announced national measurements, but bars and cafes could still stay open until 22.00 then. For big cities (like amsterdam, the hague etc) was the advise to wear mouth mask inside shops. ‘it isn’t mandatory, but shops can decline you from entering if they want too’... 

Then on October 13 Rutte announced way stricter measurements; also calling it a partial lockdown. But by then the numbers were around 7300 A DAY!!! So Rutte closed the restaurants, bars, no more football fans, theatre, museums open etc. By then it was still advised to wear a mouth mask in public places. Rutte did announce he is busy with changing the law, because that’s why it isn’t mandatory for now in Holland. Because they have to change the law to do that. 

Okkkkkkk. So now that you have a quick summary of what happened: lets answer your question (if you havent fallen asleep already HAHAH). i’m always way too long with questions like this I’m sorry haha. 

I do think we did good during the first wave, but the second wave we were way too loose with the measurements. Also the measurements on Sep 28 with cafes and restaurants staying open until 22 hour was a bad one. I think what they did on Oct 13 should have been announced then (sep 28). 

And I hope what I said above also helped in answering your questions about mouth masks. It hasnt been mandatory here ever. When Corona virus began the government questioned the safety of it since people don’t know how to use it (touch their mask and then face etc), but now they want to make it mandatory here as well. So in Germany and countries surrounding us it was mandatory for a long time; while here we walked in shops/restaurants etc without one. Only on public transport it was mandatory. 

Now after the pressconference of Sep 28 (and even more Oct 13) you see people wear it a lot more in the supermarket and in shops etc. Shops have labels out front that say: ‘Mask mandatory’. But realize that has been happening for only less than a month. So that’s why you saw everyone on Insta without one. I also wasn’t wearing one in restaurants because it wasn’t necassary/a rule. Now when I go to the supermarket etc I wear one. 

That’s also one thing I think they did wrong. Like also because research didn’t prove the use of mask (they said in March) blabla. It wasn’t mandatory the first time and now the make a U-turn and want to do that. So I can understand for people that’s confusing. Also fueling the group that doensn’t believe in Corona or thinks it’s all the fault of the government etc. While my opinion about it is: if the Germans do it (and they’ve done very well in both waves so far) FOLLOW THEM FFS!!! One research says this and the other that, but if a lot of countries make it mandatory why not be save instead of gamble and say nope only on public transport because you can’t keep the social distance in there...  

Besides that I also think the Dutch have a problem with authority. Some countries listen very good to what the government say and here we clearly don’t. Even now it’s still busy on the street. I got a photo today from a big city (where a friend lives) and it’s busy AFFFFFF. People will only take it serious when the ICU is full again or idunno what it takes for them to take it serious again. I feel like with our numbers and if they don’t change in 5 days we will have a REAL lockdown for the first time... 

I CAN understand however for the government (all of them actually) these are tough decisions... Because you know with closing so many shops again  many also won’t survive this second wave... The financial hits people are getting because of this are also insane... So sad also for people that they have to go through that....

My nightmare neighbour

I really do live next door to a nightmare neighbour and for a year now she has stressed me out so much that i just want to scream. But instead of screaming i thought i would vent my frustrations by typing daily events in hope that putting it out there would ease my soul in someway. So here goes..it all started last summer with my son who was 11 at the time playing football in our own back garden with a friend of his. My son came upstairs to me saying next door wanted to speak to me. So i went down stairs and through to the back garden to see what she wanted..to my horror she started screaming at me about the kids playing and offering me a fight out on the front then she threatened me with a machete. I just got the kids in and shut the backdoor and took myself back upstairs. About 30 mins later the police arrived at my house as she had reported me. I explained to the police what had gone off and they were more than happy with my explaination as my neighbour is well known to the police for causing drama so the officer that came to see me said.

I really dont understand where all this had come from because before this i use to deliver parcels locally and often delivered to my neighbour and we use to chat.

On a daily basis me and my partner would hear her f..ing and blinding at her kids but turned a blind eye as we can all shout at our children but she was just exteme with it.

About a week after the first incident there was another knock at the door..this time it was the council police..a complaint had been put in about bedroom noise 😁 wow so now she wasnt just satisfied with controlling my son playing in his own back garden but now wants to control our sex lives 😂😂 obviously the council police left happy and nothing else was done about it.

I just want to say that my partner owns her own house outright so we are not council tenants so i really dont know what she was trying to achieve!!

For several months there was no more confrontations and no more knocks of the door from the council or police so thought she had just turned her attentions on to somebody else after realising she wasnt getting anywhere with us. Even though she still carried on shouting awful things to her kids (she shouted that loud you could hear word for word what she was saying) banging and slamming doors loud..tv on all night loudly or because of the type of person she is it wouldnt surprise me she put her tv right up to our bedroom wall..drilling before 7am on a daily basis..mowing her lawn before 7am..dragging her wheelie bin down her steps at 6.20 am followed by her gate then her door slamming. We knew she was just trying to get a rise out of us but we carried on ignoring her antics. Even though it was frustrating.

One morning in march i believe it to be the 12th me and my son was getting in my car as we usually would at 6.45 so i could get to work and my son to school. Before i got in the car i but our bin out as it was bin day. The next minute i heard her front door slam so i turned round and saw she was putting her bin out. I was minding my own business when i looked again she was stood at her back gate in her dressing gown with her arms folded just staring at me..i put my window down in my car shrugged my shoulders and asked what was her problem..with that she started screaming and shouting at me in a threatening way so i just put my window back up and drove off..she was obviously looking for an argument but i was not doing this in front of my child (she can scream and shout all she likes in front of her kids but not mine!).

When i got home from work that evening i phoned 101 and reported it to the police..the officer who came to see me previously rang me back and asked me if i wanted him to go and see her to which i said no but please just log it incase anything else happens.

Things on the confrontations side died down again but all the noises from her house didnt but yet again we just ignored her as we couldnt be bothered with her childish ways.

About a month later after the 12th March incident i recieved a phone call from social services..it had been reported to the NSPCC that my son was being battered in our home by me or my partner..obviously i was upset and angry that someone would do this..the social worker arranged to come and see me and my son so she could talk to us the very next day. The social worker was really nice..she spoke to me and my son separately and could see he was far from a battered child..she did then say she needed to speak to his school as thats just something they do. I wasnt worried about this as i know my son is doing very well at school..top groups for all subjects and he is in his school football team. About a week later i got a call from the social worker saying the case was closed and they are happy my son isn't coming to any harm. They said it was obviously malicious as they was a couple of referrals one was the 12th March (coincidence i think not) and another for January where the police were suppose to be involved..police had no record of it and they wouldnt because it never happened..also he was being battered on a daily basis..anyway if another referral goes through the person making the allegations will be investigated. So i hope she does as that might be her downfall!

Last week me and my son was coming home at about 6.30 pm..there was 4 children outside my neighbours house..i know one to be her daughter but was unsure who the others was..before we approached the kids started shouting stuff at us..i mean for god sake they must all be 10 and under..me and my son didnt say a word as we are not lowering ourselves to that level and carried on walking to our front door..as i unlocked the front door i noticed she was stood there arms folded staring i ignored her and carried on going in tp my house where the she shouted 'why you starting on the kids'..i just shut the door and carried on with my business.

The next day i got a knock at the door..it was the police again..sigh..she reported me..i couldnt believe it..me and my son had done and said nothing..she told the police im battering my son so that confirms she is the one who is making the allegations..i always start on her kids..please im a 43 year old woman who doesnt even really shout at my own child..apparently i also follow her daughter and friend on the park and just stand and stare at them..i havent been on a park for years ever since my son was small..its all ridiculous and its really winding me up but there is nothing i can do but sit back and pray that she gets her comeuppance one day.

I feel a little bit better for getting it all out of my head and now im going to start typing as things happen.

Reader is Reggie Mantle’s younger twin sister, and she falls for Sweet Pea. The Serpent boy she isnt supposed to be with. If her brother finds out, he’d flip out.

Warning: Spoilers if you havent seen any of season 2.

Being Reggie’s twin was exactly as it sounds. The two of them were inseparable. They did everything together. He was the star football player, she was a River Vixen. They ruled the school together alongside Cheryl Blossom.

But she wasn't like them. She fit in with them, but she was sure it was only because she was Reggie’s twin. She wasn't bold like Reggie and Cheryl. In fact, she was quiet. She liked to keep to herself, and she didn't like being mean to everyone. She kept good grades -straight A’s- where as Reggie’s grades were just enough to keep him in sports. And instead of Y/N being close to Cheryl, she was actually really close to Betty and Veronica.

Reggie was older by 10 minutes, and he never let Y/N forget that. He had to rub it in her face every chance he got. She didn't care though. Reggie might be an asshole, but she loved her brother. They were the best of friends usually.

Things started to change though when the Black Hood started terrorizing the town. Y/N wasn't close to Archie Andrews. Just his friends. There was just something about Archie, that made her not trust him. And after recent events, he was starting to really freak her out. Especially forming the Red Circle. She thought it was a dumb move, and when she found out Reggie was a part of it?

“Please, don't do it, Reggie. I don't see it ending well..” She said, as they walked home from school together.

“Don't worry about me, sis.” Reggie shrugged her off, and stuck his headphones in his ears.

Y/N sighed as she walked beside him. When they got home, she went up to her room, and started on her homework, until she saw her brother leaving.

“Hey, where are you going?” She asked.

“I'm goin’ over to Andrews place. And no, you can't come.” He said, as he kept walking.

Y/N quickly gathered her stuff and followed him.

“If you're doing this, i'm coming with you. I don't trust him.” She said.

Reggie groaned and spun around, but when she was there with her coat on already, he knew there was no way he was going to be able to make her stay.

“Fine. But you better stay out of our way.” He said and walked out of the house.

Y/N grinned to herself as she followed her brother.

Y/N was actually glad she had decided to go. Veronica was there. And her fears had became a reality. As she was sitting in the kitchen with Veronica, and the boys were out in the living room messing around, there was a knock on the door. Y/N looked over at Veronica before they got up and walked over to the door, standing behind the boys as Archie opened it up.

“Serpents?” Y/N muttered, as she glanced at Veronica.

“Stupid Northsiders.. You really think you can come to my house, stick a gun in front of my face, in front of my boys, and there wouldn't be any payback?” The boy at the front got closer to Archie the more he talked. He was tall, with dark hair, and matching dark eyes. Y/N could make out the bit of a tattoo on his neck. They locked eyes for a matter of literal seconds before the boys eyes shifted to Reggie.

“You have crap timing, my bro.” Y/N looked at Reggie as he spoke up. “Bulldog’s eat Serpents for lunch.”

“We’ll see about that.” The boy said.

Y/N didn't know who this boy was, or why Archie held a gun to him, but she knew this was a bad idea, and she literally wanted to beat Reggie, for even starting to stick up for Archie right now. Serpents weren't nice. They were dangerous. Everyone was sure that one of them was the Black Hood even.. Just as Y/N was about to step up to the boys, Veronica beat her to it. Claiming if they were going to do it, there were going to be no weapons. And rules.

Soon, Y/N found herself at the bridge in the pouring rain. She really hoped Reggie wasn't going to do this, but here they were. The next few minutes went by in a blur for Y/N. She was trying to keep tabs on her brother, but she lost him in the fight. Then there was a gunshot, and everyone froze. Serpents started running off.

“Where’s Reggie?” Y/N asked, looking around, her heart racing until she found him, helping Dilton.

She sighed in relief when she saw her brother wasn't too hurt.

After the events of that night. A small war seemed to break out between the Bulldogs and Serpents. Sure there was already a war between the Northside and Southside, but now they were an actual part of it. It made Y/N uneasy. She had no idea what was going to happen. She was scared the Bulldogs were gonna make another move on the Serpents or that the Serpents were gonna come after them again.

The next time Y/N saw the Serpent boy again, was at the drag race. Y/N didn't know why all the people had to attend, but it did make it more fun. Y/N had been standing there, between Serpents and Bulldogs. She was leaning against the same truck her brother was sitting on, but on the other side of her just a few feet away, were Serpents. She couldn't help but look over at the Serpents. She was worried about them being so close, but for a matter of minutes, they were supposed to be on the same side. It was all of them, against the Ghoulies right now.

But every time she looked over there, that boy had his eyes on her. He smirked and looked away, keeping his eyes on the Ghoulies. That was the only interactions they had. Just a few looks.

Of course, the drag race ended in chaos. Everyone running around, trying to get away from cops. People were pissed. And the last look she had with the Serpent boy, was him giving a look of anger. Of course, somebody on their side had been the ones to call the cops and Archie admitted to it..

“Y/N! Lets go!” Reggie yelled, grabbing her arm and dragging her off. She ripped her gaze from the Serpent and followed Reggie.

When they got home, Reggie grabbed her arm before she could go to her room.

“I seen you looking at that boy.” He said, and gave her a look. “Stay away from the Serpents, Y/N. They are dangerous. And they are our enemy. Do you understand?” He asked.

Y/N rolled her eyes.

“Yeah. I understand.” She said and pulled her arm from his grasp, before going into her room and shutting the door.

That night, she laid in bed, not able to fall asleep. She couldn't get that Serpent boy out of her mind. And what she didn't know, he was in the same situation. Laying in bed, not able to get her off his mind.

YEEEEE (im just gonna ramble a bunch about the backstory i have so far but ill put it in bullets so its easier to follow lol i apologize for it being long as fuck-)

OKAY SO,,, first of all,,, doyle and abbey timeline,,,, [i am looking respectfully]

in this au, they get back together and have a sort of ‘lovers pretending to be enemies’ chaotic on again/off again hookup thing off to the side just between the two of them thru like Most of the final season, they try to keep it a secret (especially doyle who doubts the saturdays would be hAPPY if he was seeing her again) but in the end, saturdays ofc find out, probably are unsure about it at first, but she gains enough of their trust to be there for the big finale battle in the weird world mansion.

when shit goes down and argost becomes the vessel for the two opposing kurs (regular kur, and the anti kur from zak monday) and they like. explode his matter or w/e, i imagine instead of kur just completely disappearing, the ‘anti kur’ gets shot back to its universe, while original kur gets forced into a new vessel in this universe... the closest of which happens to be the unborn child abbeys unknowingly carrying. basically, what if the two kurs just LOOKED like they evaporated but actually did what happens when you try to like tape two same sides of a magnets together and they YEETED-

So thats how we have Parker, their firstborn daughter! and this... also implies ‘Parker Monday’ exists which. 8^) i havent thought about yet so forgive me on that but hoo, 

they dont know parker is kur, they got no idea and rly just assume kur is gone for good. but after they find out abbeys pregnant (which is a huge emotional trip for both of them in its own right) they do eventually sort of agree they dont want their kid exposed to that whole world of mystery. like, ik its a vital thing to the whole family, and ik these two people were probably voted least likely to ‘settle down’ in high school, but i cant imagine they didnt escape the kur/zak situation without a LOT of trauma, so while the saturdays stay in the cryptozoology field, doyle and abbey slowly pull away from the mystery and mercenary stuff, and also instead of going for big dollar lifestyle settle with ‘independently wealthy’ parenting.

also, neither of them really . grasp the concept that theyve even started a family, and are ‘together’, and that this is REAL, until around when she gets pregnant with their second daughter, Kendall. and then theyre like. oh nooo wait are we actually like boyfriend and girlfriend EWW-

when kendall is born parker is 3, and the next like 10+ years are pretty smooth sailing. as far as what the kids know/see, they probably know the cryptids when theyre little but. (tw animal death sORRY TO BE DARK I JUST??????) idk,, how long komodo dragons live/how old komodo already is and i definitely dont know Anything about giant prehistoric birds and am not even sure if science knows that lifespan, so. im not sure how long they could really be in each others lives??? i almost imagine parker would have memories of them that she assumes she remembers wrong, like “oh yeah they used to have a lizard and a bird... my imaginative little kid brain thought they were a komodo dragon and a dinosaur”, and as for fisk im still working on it but i . actually kind of imagine he might have a much longer lifespan (since lemurians are like ancient or w/e? and also if hes by dna like a gorilla cat or w/e gorillas at least live long af) and also feel like once he got older and settled down a bit he might live somewhere in the woods, maybe even his old tree? and the saturdays see him ALL the time obviously, but hey zaks gotta go to college eventually, a gorilla cats gotta eat bugs in forest, we all have to grow up and leave the nest sometime,

so idk the last time parker has actually seen fisk and she might assume he was an imaginary friend or smth but, 1. if i do write a fic they absolutely have to meet again, 2. overall the vibe is they know the saturdays are cryptozoologists, like, the same way josh gates does destination truth, seeking answers and studying, they dont really. know that theyre REAL. to them its like, a hypothetical science. (this is also part of why they dont realize parker is kur, she isnt around cryptids and therefore whenever her powers would actually show up they wouldnt be recognized) anyways parker isnt embarrassed or put off by it but just thinks its a little wacky, meanwhile kendall is obsessed with the world of mystery/paranormal/cryptic lol

speaking of the girls personalities;;;

parker is like. not really normie/preppy, even if she seems it at first glance, shes nice and has a good head on her shoulders but also is a teenage girl (inherently unhinged) and shes THEIR teenage girl (+5 feral) so despite her success and charm shes also very witty/crass when she wants to be, and deep down shes closer to the kind of person that would on pure inexplicable instinct put something random in your mouth when you’re yawning so you bite down on it afterwards. or like. that video of the girl singing in the bathroom while her friends curl their hair and she grabs the curler to use as a microphone before realizing its burning hot??? shes. the voice of reason, but the voice is usually shrieking in fear, making a cursed joke, or half the time whatever shes saying is actually smart. she kinda wants to go to college and travel, but struggles with indecisiveness and anxiety, so she has no idea where to go, what to major in, etc. and is again kinda just livin thru the typical teen life in that regard

kendall on the other hand is like. weird kid culture, the kind of kid that believes they are secretly a new supernatural creature each year (mermaid phase, werewolf phase, alien phase, etc), probably completely accidentally starts cults or witch covens at school (didnt realize teaching peers how to become ‘blood brothers’ and ‘make potions’ from puddles and stolen school supplies would be taken so seriously by parents) , very into emo/scene/punk/alt culture but not rly in an overtly dark/edgy way, more of a having fun and expressing self way. she wants answers for everything, really loves mysteries and being open minded, and definitely a rebel/adventurer at heart, even if she gets naive or in over her head sometimes.

the girls get along well! parker is not dismissive of kendall she just. isnt really into the same stuff/is more freaked out by it most of the time, but she would tag along on certain adventures, especially if it was to keep her safe. and kendall definitely directs gentle mockery towards parker a lot but does see her as a good role model and guiding figure, their bond is really strong!

doyle and abbey prob decide to say fuck it and get married after kendall is born, they probably have a few rough patches but nothing is more important to them than the kids now and in the end they understand each other better than anyone else so . canon tension idk her! family ftw! power couple! they intimidate the teacher during parent teacher conferences together hand in shady little hand !

their parenting style is exactly what one would imagine, 70% fun and sass and controlled chaos where theyre the bigger children than their children, 15% ‘this is how you hack the government and dual wield swords-- i was not supposed to teach you that im sorry’, and 15% actual guidance / emotional depth / etc. flaws might be overcoming their own immaturity for the first few years, and then being lowkey overly protective (while claiming they arent, but just bc you semi jokingly tell parker she should join the football team doesnt mean you dont actually hide 60% of ur life from her and check that her bedroom windows are locked every night and have 24 people listed in her school emergency contacts and used to cut up her food till she was 7 and-)

PCW SIXTH ANNIVERSARY PART 2

Food done at Yates's it waa time to take in a couple of the usual haunts in Preston, first of all - The Guild Ale House which is a real ale haven for the hardened craft ale drinker, generally every drink is under £3.50 and of the highest quality. I would liken this pub as well to someones fromt living room with the white carpet which i am surprised no one has ruined yet spilling their stout, we decamped to the small yard area to think up of niche songs for one of the night's combatants - Su Yung. A mixture of stuff from The Beatles, Genesis and The Corrs were batted about but as we would find out later would go down as well as a wet fart in Church. The drink i had in here was 2/3rds of a Saison like drink "Never Known Fog Like It" for £3.50 and it was a nice drink that i would try a second helping of if i saw it again. Next stop was Hogarths to see the latter end of our football coupons going down and also a lovely pint of £2.05 Hogarths own ale. This pub looks like it has been a success since it has opened rivalling Wetherspoons on price and it also caters for people who like their sport with Racing UK and Sky Sports being prominent on all screens. Drinks done it was time to get into Evoque for the show, thankfully this time their was a high stool in my usual spot so i took advantage to rest my feet and sit in my perch to watch the graps. A bigger crowd than expected crowd was in attendance and it was nice to see people give PCW another try having probably being put off by the below par shows that were provided in 2016, but in fairness since the change in booker this year to Greg Lambert holding the pencil shows have improved by far so the ball was in PCWs court to make it worth it - lets see if they pulled it off. First off was a 3 way match to be no.1 contender for the Cruiserweight Title with Ricky Knight Jr vs Chris Ridgeway vs Chris Brookes - the latter making his return to PCW after just 1 solitary appearance in one of the Who Dares Wins rumbles a few years ago. Brookes received a great reception once his banger of a tune hit (Human Fly by The Cramps), Brookes has become a darling of the scene in the last year or so and could be on the cusp of joining his Midlands cohorts in the States sometime. This was a great opener to set the tone for the evening with all 3 guys working well together, Ricky Knight Jr impressed and didnt look out of place with his more experienced adversaries. Ridgeway eventually got the win in around 12 minutes catching Knight Jr with a choke in midair causing RKJ to tap immediately. Next up was Sheikh and Shake and Dave Birch vs 3 Mates Pissing About (Kirby/Hope/Joey Hayes). Seymour Gains gave an opening spiel trying to get over his S.H.I.T.S Protein Shake to a chorus of boos with his mate Sheikh El-Sham eyeing me up again - naturally i booed him again. These two have become a good team in their short time together getting the right reaction from the audience - good work lads. This was a really fun match as you can expect with the 3 mates who are fantastic at these comedy matches and are filling the void left by Dave Rayne and Mad Man Manson. The 3 mates got the win with the Shield Powerbomb to Seymour for the 1-2-3 and to rub it in Seymours face even more they poured his S.H.I.T.S Protein Shakes all over him. Soner Durson vs CJ Banks Part 3 was next with it being 1-1 in the series from their 2 good scraps in Tidal and PCW. Even though it took time for the crowd to warm to the match, they eventually got the crowd onside and provided a good match with Soner looking impressive again but sadly coming up short trying to hit the frog splash but CJ caught him with a pair of knees and Cheeky Rolled him up for the win. Good Stuff!! Half Time Main Event was Aussie Open challenging the PCW Tag Champions The UK Hooligans. As expected this was a really good match but it was more suited to The Hooligans style of working fighting around the ringside area smacking especially Fletcher with suicide dives and school chair shots to the head. The Aussies did eventually get some offence in, using their raised cutter for a close 2 count but after 15 minutes they fell to The Hooligans but they shouldnt be too disheartened and i for ine would like to see them in PCW again. But if you do see Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis elsewhere in the country I urge you to see them. After the match the UK Hooligans found out that they would be facing The NAK (Chris Renfrew and BT Gunn) in September, should be a good scrap. My mate Ben made quite the hot take after the match saying even though he likes The Hooligans, he is a bit fed up with their style of match and would like to see something different from them, but did point to the fact only Team Single went toe to toe with them all the way through their matches and wouldnt lie down and take a pasting. 1st half done and a mark photo with British Wrong Style accosting Aussie Open for a picture near the bar, decent enough gentleman to meet. Now the 2nd half and what do we start off with - Lionheart vs Philip Michael. The opening of this contest started off with a 3 minute singing of Philip Michaels name the like we havent seen since the days of Noam Dar, Philip was over like rover. Good action here for around 7 minutes with Phil matching Lionheart hold for hold and looking his equal but a spot where Lionheart pulled Phil off the ropes causing Phil to land awkwardly caused a long stoppage to the match and bringing a number of the roster to ringside to check on Phils wellbeing. Now with what happened to Lionheart previously when he broke his neck at PCW which left the audience in stunned silence and tears that night, visions of seeing a serious injury is still fresh in peoples minds but as ever with wrestling companies nowadays - many a fake injury angle happens and you dont know when to know if its real or not. In this case Lionheart picked up Phil to applause but then proceeded to use a Uranage Slam to drop Phil to a chorus of boos and a 1-2-3. Personal opinion i think Fake Injury Angles are shit and the dog worst thing to get a baddie over in this sense. They could have easily had Philip Michael catch a win from nowhere on Lionheart and then have Lionheart give him a beating after the match - it still has the same effect. This left a bad taste in a few peoples mouths and I for one was one of them. Su Yung vs Lauren (replacement for an injured Saraya) was next in a short match with Su Yung dominating early and looking good in the process. But despite all the songs in the world to rally Su she fell to a roll up from Lauren for the shock victory. I do think Lauren will probably end up winning the PCW Womens title in 2 weeks in the tourney but i cant say i am totally sold on her as a champion but just my opinion. Dean Allmark took on Jody Fleisch next for the Cruiserweight title in a fantastic match as you would expect from these 2 wrestlers. Jody hasnt missed a beat since the early 2000s and looks better bodywise since then, Deano has been a constant highlight in the past year with the rest of the cruisers pulling some of the shows over the line with some top matches. Jody hit the 720 DDT but only got a 2 for a near fall, Deano hit Jody with the Smiles Clash before finishing a valiant Jody off with the top rope Spanish Fly. Great stuff and a great pick me up after what was on previously to it. The Big Grudge Match with Tel Banham vs BIG T was next but sadly after much talking from Banham and tomfoolery from his cronies, it never got started with BIG T booting referee Des and joining up with Banham to be his bodyguard muscle i guess to the Chicken Shit Heel Banham. In one way a poor payoff to an angle that has been going for 3 months but in one sense Banham can use BIG T to fight his battles. Live i think the angle didnt go down well in the end and left a flat feeling due to people wanting Banham to get his comeuppance. Main Event time with the 3 way being turned into a 4 way with Champion Iestyn Rees vs T-Bone vs Bubblegum vs Ashton Smith. This went around 20 minutes with plenty of action and nearfalls happening, Iestyn did a majestic dive over the ropes which for a big fella is impressive. With the clock ticking to me getting the train, i took a position at the back of the room to see just in time Iestyn Rees using the Cheeky Roll Up to beat a defiant Bubblegum and continuing his near year long reign as champion. This made the show finish on a flat note, with the crowd wanting to see Bubblegum pick up the win and finally get a small run with the PCW Title. I found out when i left that Bubblegum is putting his PCW Career on the line at the next show vs T-Bone in a street fight which i guess there is a reason behind but i didnt see much skullduggery costing Bubblegum from a T-Bone prespective but hey ho - Wrestling!! Iestyns next opponent i am not too sure where they are going next, maybe Ashton gets another chance but for me that was 3 contenders finished off in one night. So i guess we get Iestyn being the not so brilliant paper champion again for another 6 months 😕. Overall a great first half followed up by an indifferent second half with as i have explained - the result of the main and the injury angle being topics of complaint from myself. But still this is worth a watch when it comes on demand. Delayed train to Manchester meant getting back at around half midnight into Rochdale, as ever Geoff was doing his best sleeping pose for #grapsandnaps - Standard part of a trip to the wrestling. Evoque beer prices - £4.50 for Tyskie (500ml) they ran out of these bottles halfway through. £7 for 2 bottles of either Samuel Adams, Brewdog Punk IPA or Brooklyn Lager. So in effect it was £7 for a pint and a smidgen if you look at it that way. Next time in #grapsandclaps will be my first trip to Attack Wrestling in Cardiff which by going off what people are going and the general fun of that promotion - could be a fantastic which i am looking forward to.

We hatched a plan. After moving into our Midtown Manhattan apartment, we invited all the neighbors over for drinks by placing Kinkos-printed quarter-sheets into everyones mailboxes. Then, we waited for our versions of Chandler, Kramer, and Elaine to show up. But they didnt. In fact, no one did. As the ice in the cooler melted and the guacamole browned, not a single person among 100 apartments stopped by. Not. One. Person.

Recalling that episode now, we sound embarrassingly nave. We didnt realize friendships in the real world worked nothing like the ones we had forged in our dormitories, let alone those we saw on television. Yet as it turns out, our desire to belong to a tight community was far from foolish.

Recent studies have shown a dearth of social interaction with people you care about and who care about you not only leads to loneliness, but is also linked to a range of harmful physical effects. In other words: A lack of close friendships may be hazardous to your health.

Dying for Friends

A 2010 meta-analysis reviewed 148 studies involving over 300,000 participants and concluded that having weak social ties was as harmful to health as being an alcoholic and twice as harmful as obesity. Julianne Holt-Lunstad, co-author of the analysis, told Reuters, A lack of social relationships was equivalent to smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.

A more recent study, published in the , found a biological response to loneliness that triggers disease. According to the researchers, social isolation sets off a cellular chain reaction that increases inflammation and suppresses the bodys immune response.

Perhaps the most compelling evidence that friendships affect longevity comes from the ongoing Harvard Study of Adult Development. Since 1938, researchers have been following 724 men, tracking their physical health as well as social habits. Robert Waldinger, the studys current director, said in his recent TED Talk, The clearest message that we get from this 75-year study is this: Good relationships keep us happier and healthier. Period. Socially disconnected people are, according to Waldinger, less happy, their health declines earlier in midlife, their brain functioning declines sooner, and they live shorter lives than people who are not lonely.

Lest we think having 500 Facebook friends might offer some protection, Waldinger warns, Its not just the number of friends you have its the quality of your close relationships that matters.

So what makes for a quality friendship? William Rawlins, a professor of interpersonal communications at Ohio University who studies the way people interact over the course of their lives, told The Atlantic that satisfying friendships need three things: Somebody to talk to, someone to depend on, and someone to enjoy.

Finding someone to talk to, depend on, and enjoy comes naturally when were young. In college, for example, we build strong bonds when nearly everyone around us is also searching for connection. But as we grow into adulthood, the model for how to maintain our friendships isnt clear. We graduate and go our separate ways, pursuing careers and starting lives miles apart from our best friends.

Suddenly work obligations and ambitions trump buddies and brewskis. It becomes impossible to be spontaneous without planning for weeks, if not months, in advance. Once children enter the picture, exhilarating nights on the town become exhausted nights on the couch.

Friendships Starve to Death

Unfortunately, the less time we invest in people, the easier it is to make do without them until one day it becomes too awkward to reconnect. Since we havent spoken for so long, we think, where would we even begin? If we were still close friends wouldnt we have spoken more by now?

This is how friendships die they starve to death. But as the research reveals, by allowing those friendships to starve, were also mal nourishing our bodies.

Case in point: Several months ago, I found myself in a funk. I now live in San Francisco and whenever someone asked, How are you? my reply was the standard Silicon Valley yuppie salute: Good! Super busy! Yet this wasnt exactly true. I wasnt good.

To put things in perspective, I wasnt bad, either. Things were fine. By all measures, more than fine I had a healthy family, a growing business, and interesting clients to work with. Id recently published a book that became a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and if my social media stats were to be believed, I had plenty of friends and followers.

And yet, the funk. I soon identified the problem: The more professional opportunities came my way, the more time I spent away from my real-life friends the people I truly cared about. Maintaining friendships with people to talk to, depend on, and enjoy takes time.

As an undergraduate, I first heard the term residual benefactor in an economics class. A residual benefactor is the chump who gets whatever is left over when a company is liquidated typically, not much. When were not careful, the people we care about often become residual benefactors: We leave them for last, giving them whatever bits of time are left over after weve attended to everything else.

The Solution, the Kibbutz

If the food of friendship is time together, how do we make the time to ensure were all fed? My friends and I have recently come across a way to keep each other close. It fits into our lifestyles despite busy schedules and a surfeit of children. We call it the kibbutz.

In Hebrew, the word means gathering, and for our gathering, four couples meet every two weeks to talk about one question sort of like an interactive TED Talk over a picnic lunch. The question might range from a deep inquiry, like Whats one thing your parents taught you that you want to pass on to your children? to a lighter, more practical question, like How do you disconnect from your iPhone on weekends?

Having a topic helps in two ways. For one, it gets us past the small talk of sports and weather, and helps us open up about stuff that actually matters. Second, it prevents the gender split that happens when couples convene in groups men in one corner, women in another. The question of the day gets us all talking together.

Consistency and Stiff-Arming the Kids

Every other week, rain or shine, the kibbutz is on our calendars consistency is key. Theres no back-and-forth emailing to find a time. We always meet at the same place, and each couple brings their own food so theres no prep or cleanup. If one couple cant make it, no biggie, the others carry on the conversation.

What about the kids? In our group, kids are welcome, but they dont run the show. Typically they play on their own, but if they interject, theyre given a stern response that sounds something like: Im having a conversation with my friends because my friends are important to me. Youre welcome to listen or join the conversation, but please dont interrupt unless its an emergency.

For our childrens sake, we want them to know that adult friendships matter. We dont want them to have to rely on TV to figure out how adults interact. By watching us, our children see that being a good friend means listening when others have something to share, and not being distracted by anything else including our cellphones, the football game, or even our own children (unless someone is bleeding). The entire affair lasts about two hours, and I always leave the kibbutz with new ideas and insights.

Most important, I feel closer to my friends. No, our group isnt as funny or spontaneous as the pseudo-New Yorkers I grew up watching on TV. But it turns out that fun wasnt what I was missing it was authentic, caring friendships. Making time to invest in my most important relationships finally snapped me out of my funk and provided the psychological nourishment I didnt know I was missing.

Not only that, it turns out the time I spend with my friends is also an investment in my future health. Forget diets and the latest workout routines. The best medicine may be to gather your favorite people around a table and make a toast: To friendship, and your health.
